The Doctor is seen controlling TARDIS and Rose reading a magazine. The atmosphere was awkward. Rose finally broke the silence between them. "Doctor, can you play something?"
"Rose, this is a police box, not a jukebox," the Doctor replied with a smile. Rose laughed. "Can we go somewhere? It's boring in here."
Suddenly, there was a screeching sound from the TARDIS console. "Rose, please don't upset her," said the Doctor as he stroked the TARDIS console. Rose was surprised. "Her? Who do you mean?"
The Doctor looks surprised. "The TARDIS. She's angry because you think she's boring." Rose was shocked and irritated. "Oh come on! Hey, please don't take it personally, I didn't mean to insult you."
Another sound came from the TARDIS console. "Apology denied," replied the Doctor. "Alright, where are we going now?"
"Anywhere as long as we don't meet aliens," said Rose casually. "What's wrong with aliens?" The Doctor looked surprised again.
"Well, nothing's wrong. It's just that, we've just returned to London, and suddenly we meet aliens who can disguise themselves as humans. So please, just for a moment, no aliens, okay?" Rose answered.
The Doctor nodded his head. "Okay, that makes sense. Alright, I'll change the question: when are we going now?"
"I love that question!" Rose replied happily. "Umm, so you see, I really idolize a great mistery novelist-"
"Agatha Christie! Oh, I idolize her too. Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, you name it!" Cut the Doctor furiously. "Alright, let's go!"
"Hold on, Doctor!" Rose shouted suddenly. "Umm, no, she's not the one I idolize." The Doctor thought for a moment, then seemed to have realized something.
"Oh, I see, you mean Arthur Conan Doyle, right? Well, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are a very interesting duo. I can understand that. Okay, are you ready to meet him?" The Doctor pressed a few buttons and was ready to turn the wheel-shaped part on the console, when suddenly…
"It's Poe," Rose said quietly. "It's Edgar Allan Poe." The Doctor and Rose both fell silent. The Doctor finally broke the silence. "Who is that?"
