Hello, everyone! PHANTOMKNIGHTMARE47 here, with a new standalone Sonic The Hedgehog fanfiction. It's called Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge! The plot goes like this: After the war between the Resistance and Eggman's Army, and following their adventures to the Starfall Islands, Sonic and his friends are trying to live normal lives, since Eggman's been charged for terrorism and war-crimes, and is serving the remainder of his life in the Zone Prison, but, Eggman's Egg-Bosses break him out of prison. Now, Eggman plans on claiming revenge on Sonic and his friends. But, Sonic and co. encounter new allies who help in stopping Eggman and his forces for good. Also, Sonic is recovering from the fact he and Sally Acorn were forced to break up, because of Sally's father, King Elias Acorn, and finds himself falling in love with Amy Rose. Will Sonic and his friends be able to save Mobius from Eggman's control? Grab a soda, pop some popcorn, order a pizza, and get ready to find out in Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge!

Chapter 1: The Calm Before The Storm
For as long as people can remember, the universe was created by the event known as The Big Bang and Earth, home of the human race, had struggled for survival and dinosaurs ruled the land, but they became extinct after a meteorite struck the Earth 65,000,000 years ago and humanity evolved into a up and down kind of species.
But, aside from Earth, another universe had been made due to it being a parallel universe; Mobius. In that universe 12,000 years ago, during the 21st century of the "old world" when Mobius was still known as "Earth", an alien race known as the Xorda came to the planet to offer an alliance to its human population. However, the emissary they dispatched was captured, studied and subsequently dissected by a group of scientists led by Ivan Kintobor, a leading scientist at the time. Ivan had hoped to use the captured alien and its technology to produce the robot Isaac as well as numerous other creations. His methods however proved antagonistic towards the Xorda. In retaliation, the aliens bombarded the planet with Gene Bombs with the intention of exterminating all life on the planet, melting all surface life into primordial ooze. Before the destruction of the planet's biosphere, however, a number of hidden cities were constructed, safe from the effects of the Gene Bombs. The bombs had an unforeseen side effect however. Rising from the primordial soup, DNA from the former human population formed the four-fingered Overlanders seen on Mobius today, while the rest of the animal kingdom also experienced a rapid evolution from interaction with human DNA, forming modern-day Mobians.
The planet suffered a massive environmental cataclysm. The Gene Bombs were supposed to preserve Earth's environment as it was when it was attacked. However, their interaction with the planet caused massive volcanic reactions, earthquakes, and massive storms, hurling billions of tons of ash and dirt into the air. This is what is chronicled as the first Days of Fury in Echidna theology.
Shortly after this cataclysm, the event known as the "Coming of the Chaos Emeralds'' had occurred. Mysteriously, the green Chaos Emeralds hurled towards Mobius from space, raining on the planet from the sky. This resulted in dramatic global weather changes, eventually causing the extinction of the Mobosaurs. However, it also gave rise to the omnipotent beings known as the Ancient Walkers and provided immortality to Mammoth Mogul, when one of the descending Chaos Emeralds embedded itself in his chest. It also allowed the Mobo-sapiens, known more simply as Mobians, to become the new dominant race on the planet.
The Days of Fury continued to affect Mobius for thousands of years, right up to modern day. The Echidna Tomes describe them as "nature's way of adjusting to environmental changes it undergoes over a certain duration" according to Athair. Prior to the Day of Fury which happened in the year 3235, Athair stated the last recorded Day of Fury happened some "twelve hundred years ago".
At some point in time, the early dragons were supposedly born in the Dragon Kingdom region of Mobius. The dragons warred amongst themselves for generations, until they realized the destruction wrought on the land. After this the various dragons settled throughout Mobius. Mobius' early history also saw the rise of two more super-powerful beings connected to the Chaos Force: Aurora and Enerjak, who were formerly research scientists in Albion. Sadly, Enerjak became corrupted by his powers, and Aurora and the Ancient Walkers were forced to scatter his being throughout the Chaos Force.
Approximately 9,700 years ago, the Echidnas were already well developed in their colony of Albion. The Albion Knights of Aurora found themselves defending the planet against the wizard caste known as the Order of Ixis, which was bent on world domination and was subservient to their founder Mammoth Mogul. Events in the war included the appearance of Mutates, the invention of cybernetics, the mutation of the Tasmanian Devil, and the rise of the second Enerjak. Despite the Order's incredible powers, the Albion Knights successfully defeated Mogul during the Forgotten War, effectively wiping out all of the Order of Ixis. However, Mogul and three later disciples, Agunus, Nusgau, and Suguna, survived the Forgotten War. The latter three wizards eventually merged to form the individual wizard Ixis Naugus thousands of years later. It was also during the Forgotten War that monstrous creatures of various species, collectively known as Mutates, began to appear across the planet, though in limited numbers. Then, Dave, an Echidna from Albion, ventured out into space, exploring Jupiter and its moon Europa on his ship the Monolith. The Echidnas made other advances down through history as well, one group going so far as to leave Albion in order to resettle elsewhere. After briefly stopping in Soumerca, where two factions of the colony effort-the Knuckles Clan and Nocturnus Clan-broke off to fight for the land they hoped to claim, the other group settled in Downunda, where they built the city of Echidnaopolis.
Approximately 600 years ago, a White Comet hurtling towards Echidnaopolis was discovered by the Echidna scientists Jordann and Kayla-La. Using their knowledge of the Chaos Emeralds, the two scientists managed to use the Chaos Emeralds' powers to lift their city into the sky, after the Fire Ants dug underneath the city to separate it from the continent — thus creating the Floating Island. Sadly, the Echidnas would face further troubles of their own, beginning when the scientist Dimitri attempted to return to the island to the surface using his Chaos Syphon, only to be driven mad. This would also lead to the creation of the office of Guardian among the Echidnas of the island.
Meanwhile, the other Mobians learned from the Echidnas on how to structure themselves into societies. One Mobian, Alexander, decided to pool the various groups' resources and knowledge together to form a single society. While the Overlanders proved too violent in nature to be included, and the Echidnas chose to exclude themselves from joining the group, the other Mobians pulled together and created Mobotropolis - the first multicultural city on the planet.
However, the Black Creatures had also invaded. A scientist named Professor Gerald Robotnik is commissioned by the United Federation to create an "Ultimate Lifeform" for weaponization purposes and enlists the aid of Black Doom. A group called G.U.N. the Guardian Union of Nations, sent their forces to storm the Space Colony ARK; Gerald is captured and Maria Robotnik is killed while Project Shadow temporarily escapes. Professor Gerald is forced to continue weaponizing Project Shadow, while secretly reprogramming him to avenge Maria's death, and is eventually executed as a security risk.
But Gerald's grandson, Dr. Ivo Julien Robotnik, or Dr. Eggman, as he calls himself now, had taken over Mobotropolis and renamed it Robotropolis and had begun turning the population of the planet into robots called Badniks and or Eggmechs but it was said that a hero would rise up and defeat Dr. Eggman by using the power of the Chaos Emeralds, the chosen one who is known as….Sonic The Hedgehog.
Sonic was born with the power to channel Chaos Energy, and possessed incredible running speed. He formed a group known as The Freedom Fighters with his friends, Miles "Tails" Prower, a Mobian fox with two tails that allowed him to fly, and was a child genius, Knuckles The Echidna, the last of the Echidna Tribe, and Guardian of the Master Emerald, Amy Rose, a girl who was Sonic's self-proclaimed "number one fan", Rotor Walrus, another tech-expert, Bunnie Rabbott, a partially roboticized Mobian rabbit, Antoine D'Coollette, a skilled swordsman, and Sally Acorn, the princess of the Kingdom of Knothole. Sonic dated Sally for a while, but Sally's father, King Elias felt as if as long as the Freedom Fighters and Eggman's Army were warring, Knothole wasn't safe anymore, so Sonic and friends were forced to leave Knothole Village for good, and Sonic and Sally were forced to break up.
Sonic has been to the planet Earth and even made several friends there, Chris Thorndyke, his grandpa Chuck, who has the same first name as Sonic's uncle, Tanaka the butler, Ella the maid and his parents Nelson and Lindsay, as well as Chris' uncle Sam Speed of the S-Team, even Chris' teacher Mr. Stewart was intrigued by him, as was super spy Topaz and Chris' friends, Danny, Frances and Helen. He has even fought against his look-alike, Shadow and to the Ultimate Lifeform lost his memory for a while and now they act as if they're brothers after they defeated the Metarex and their leader, Dark Oak.
At one point, Eggman used a gemstone known as the Phantom Ruby, and a jackal by the name of Infinite as his Ultimate Mercenary to actually defeat Sonic, and take over Mobius. Luckily, a group of Mobians, allied with Sonic's friends, and Sonic's past self managed to free Sonic, defeat Eggman and Infinite, and save Mobius. Eggman survived, albeit with amnesia, and became a kind man known as Mr. Tinker, but was forcibly cured by a mad scientist named Dr. Starline the Platypus. Eggman and Starline created a biological weapon known as the Metal Virus, which turned living organic tissue into cold unfeeling steel. A majority of Mobius got infected and turned into Zombots, and Sonic himself wound up partially infected. However, Sonic and Silver cured Mobianity of the Metal Virus, and destroyed it via sending it into the sun.
At another point in time, Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles arrived at the Starfall Islands, where Sonic saw that his friends were trapped in Cyberspace. He managed to save Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, but slowly became Cyber-Corrupted to the point he was trapped in between the physical world and Cyberspace. So, Sonic's friends returned to Cyberspace to save Sonic's life, and Sonic teamed up with a reluctant Eggman, and an A.I known as Sage, who was something of Eggman's surrogate daughter, in recovering the Chaos Emeralds, and they stopped an entity known as The End, restoring Sonic's friends back to normal.
Sonic even had allies like Tom Wachowski, a police-officer, and his wife, Maddie, who was a veterinarian. He even met Archie Andrews and his friends Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Moose Mason, Dilton Doiley, Midge Klump, Kevin Keller, and Forscythe Pendleton Jones III or "Jughead" from Riverdale, the teenage witch, Sabrina Spellman, as well as Sabrina's aunts Zelda and Hilda, and Sabrina's snarky familiar, Salem Saberhagen from the neighboring town of Springdale, Albert Francis Simmons, or Al for short, AKA Spawn, and even the OG MegaMan himself, Rock Light, as well as Ryu Hoshi, Ken Masters, Chun-li, and William Guile from the Street Fighter universe. The first time Sonic teamed up with MegaMan was when Eggman and Dr. Albert Wily kidnapped Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Silver and Blaze and turned them into their Roboticized Masters, but MegaMan turned them back to normal after defeating them. Another time was when Sonic and co. met MegaMan X, Zero, and others.
It cuts to a Mobian pygmy hedgehog with cobalt-blue fur, peach skin on his arms and muzzle, a black nose, red and white shoes, white gloves, and green eyes relaxing underneath a tree. This was Sonic The Hedgehog, the local hero of Mobius.
"Things are finally turning peaceful, since the Court of Mobius gave Eggstache a punishment that'll stick." said Sonic, sounding like Randy Cunningham crossed with Dewey Duck, as he was remembering the day that Eggman was finally held accountable of all his past actions, was was given a life sentence in prison without any chance of parole.
Flashback, Mobius Courthouse
It shows Eggman in an orange prison jumpsuit, wearing handcuffs, and Sonic and his friends were with a big, muscular female Mobian white tiger. The tiger was Bianca, a defense attorney.
"All rise," said Judge Owl, as everyone got to their feet. "Has the jury reached a verdict?"
"We have, Your Honor." said a Mobian ocelot. "We find Doctor Ivo Julien Robotnik, otherwise known as Doctor Eggman guilty of all charges."
"Doctor Robotnik," Judge Owl began, as he faced the not-so-good doctor "For your crimes against the people of Mobius, I sentence you to life in Zone Prison with no chance of parole." He then banged the gavel, and Eggman was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
Flashback Over
Sonic then got to his feet, and sped off to meet with his friends. His quills glowed blue with Chaos Energy, and even his eyes started glowing blue. He then zoomed throughout the city of Mobiotropolis, with an elated smile on his face.
"This is totally awesome!" said Sonic, with a grin on his face, as he sped through loop-de-loops and curves like a boss.
Meanwhile, it cuts to Eggman's cell, where we see the not-so-good doctor sitting in his cell, fuming over his latest defeat at the hands of Sonic and his friends. Suddenly, he looked to see a group of robots, they were Scratch, Grounder, Coconuts, Orbot, Cubot, Decoe, Bocoe, Bokkun, and Metal Sonic.
"We won't let the Eggman Army go down that easily, that's for certain." said Metal Sonic. They also had with them, Eggman's Egg-Bosses, such as Lien-Da the Echidna, Scourge the Hedgehog, Rosy the Rascal, Alicia Acorn, Miles Prower, Clove the Pronghorn, Clove's sister, Cassia, Sir Modred Hood, Nephtys the Vulture, Tundra the Walrus, Axel the Water Buffalo, Akhlut the Orca, Abyss the Squid, Kukku XV, Conquering Storm, Maw the Thylacine, as well as Doctor Starline the Platypus, Mimic the Octopus, Zavok, Zazz, Zor, Zomom, Zeena, and Zik, Surge the Tenrec, and Kitsunami the Fennec, as well as a red Mobian echidna with steel claws, a loincloth, boots, a white thunderbolt marking on his chest, and blue eyes, a teal Mobian rhinoceros, a Mobian boar, a Mobian lion with orange fur, black hair, and blue eyes, and two red Mobian lions, as well as a red female Mobian bat. Even Eggman's nephew, Snively, was with them.
Eggman smirked darkly. Soon, all of Mobius would kneel before the Eggman army. The red echidna snapped his fingers, and the teal rhinoceros gripped the bars of Eggman's cell, and forced them apart from each other with his bare hands. Eggman chuckled darkly.
"Now, it is time to enact my revenge on Sonic and his worthless friends!" said Eggman, with a smirk on his face. He then saw a new Egg-Mobile with two hover-rings on the sides.
(Author's Note: Eggman's new Egg-Mobile design incorporates themes from the games, movies, shows, and comics, with the hover rings of the Egg-Pod from the first live-action/CGI Sonic movie.)
Sonic then sped throughout the streets of Mobiotropolis, until he met up with a familiar two-tailed Mobian fox. This was Miles Prower, AKA Tails. Tails was born with a genetic mutation that gave him two tails, and he was picked on by other Mobian foxes for this trait. He befriended Sonic, and used his dual tails to fly by spinning them like helicopter propellers. Tails had amber colored fur, with white on his belly, muzzle, and the ends of his tails, and blue eyes. He was something of a surrogate younger brother to Sonic.
"Yo, Tails!" said Sonic with a smile at his closest friend.
"Hey, Sonic!" said Tails, with a smile on his face.
"So far, nothing bad has happened. Let's go meet with the others!" said Sonic. With that, he and Tails headed for the Freedom Fighters' base of operations in Mobiotropolis.
Meanwhile, we turn to see Eggman at a new Egg-Base, which resembles the Fortress Inquisitorous from Star Wars, but different.
"Those accursed Freedom Fighters have been a thorn in my side for several years now." Eggman snarled "Drat them. DOUBLE drat them." Eggman scowled, on the verge of a rage-out. "Those accursed Mobians foiled my plans on their homeworld, and on Earth!" he gritted his teeth "CONFOUND THOSE FREEDOM FIGHTERS! OHHHH, HOW I HATE THEM! I HATE TAILS! I HATE KNUCKLES! I HATE AMY! AND I ESPECIALLY HATE SONIC! THEY DRIVE ME TO DRINK!" With that, Eggman downed an entire bottle of raspberry schnapps liquor. "Confound them." he growled, angrily. "CONFOUND THEM!"
(A.N by PHANTOMKNIGHTMARE47: That was a reference to the Looney Tunes cartoon, "The Dover Boys", starring the late Mel Blanc as Dan Backslide. I saw a YouTube video done by Eggman's voice-actor, Michael B. Pollock, asking us to not have Eggman cuss in my stories, but instead, I'll have Eggman scream like a goat, like in "Sonic Boom")
"Doctor, I suggest you ease up on the alcohol." said Orbot, showing concern for the not-so-good doctor's health.
"He's right, ya know." said Scratch, having been given a new body design similar to Burn Rooster, a Maverick Reploid "That Raspberry Schnapps you drank just now is 15% alcohol."
Eggman formulated a plan, and the lightbulb of evil clicked on in Eggman's head. "I know just the thing." he said. He then revealed a new kind of SWAT-Bot. "Behold, the new model of SWAT Bot! These new models can move and fight like real flesh-and-blood soldiers, having combat data downloaded into them."
"Excellent work, doctor." said Akhult, smirking.
"Soon, all of Mobius will kneel before the Eggman Army." said Eggman with a smirk.
Later, it shows Tails and Sonic meeting up with their friends, Amy Rose, Knuckles The Echidna, Cream the Rabbit, Shadow the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, E-123 Omega, Silver the Hedgehog, and Blaze the Cat.

"Heya, fellas." said Sonic, smiling at his friends.
"Hiya, blue boy." said Rouge, smirking at Sonic.
"So, what's going on?" said Sonic, curious about what's happening.
"Well, Eggman's generals, the Egg-Bosses, busted Eggman out of Zone Prison, and now he's planning to rule over Mobius with an iron fist, as per usual." said Amy.
"So, it'll be up to all of us to stop him," said Sonic. Suddenly, a few Mobians arrived. One was a lion with yellow fur, brown hair, and golden-orange eyes, wearing a blue and silver vest, and blue and silver boots. His right hand was mechanical in appearance.
The second Mobian was a female Mobian hedgehog with sky-blue fur, quills similar to Amy's, but longer, and green eyes, wearing a blue shirt similar to the Scottish flag, jeans, and black Nike sneakers.
The third Mobian was a Mobian based off of a great maned wolf, a species of wild dog. He had orange fur, with black fur on his hands, forearms, legs and feet, a distinctive black mane, a whitish "bib" beneath his throat, and a whitish tuft on the end of his tail. His head-shape was similar to Gadget the Wolf, with his ears similar to those of Tails, and he had black hair with orange tint, and green eyes. He wore a jacket over an indigo gray shirt, jeans, green sneakers, and fingerless gloves.
The next Mobian was one based off of a white Transvaal lion. He had white fur, a white muzzle, silver hair with blue tint, and cyan eyes, wearing a white and gold jacket over a blue shirt, jeans, fingerless gloves, and cyan sneakers, as well as cyan crystal bracelets.
The next Mobian was a female maned wolf with blue fur, blue eyes, and blonde hair with slender curves, ample breasts, and a thicc bubble-booty, wearing a blue, yellow and indigo unitard with a heart-shaped belt-buckle.
The next Mobian was a female Mobian lion with dark-blue fur, indigo skin, waist-length magenta hair, a magenta tail-tuft, and wore a violet shirt, brown jeans, and red sneakers. She also had a ruby belly-button piercing.
The next Mobian was an arctic wolf with silver fur, aquamarine eyes, a scar on his left eye, black hair, and wore a red jacket with a wolf on the back, ripped jeans, and green sneakers.
The last Mobian was a White Mainland Tiger with white and black hair, sky-blue eyes, and wore a jean jacket over a cyan shirt, sky-blue bracelets, jeans, and indigo soap shoes.
"Hello?" said the lion, sounding similar to how Simba does in the 2019 CGI adaptation of Disney's The Lion King. "Are we in the right room?"
"Why yes, yes you are." said Tails.
"Hello there, everyone." said the lion. "My name is Cyo the Lion, and I'm from the Lion Village. I lived a normal life, until I was critically injured by one of Eggman's mines. I was a knock from Death's Doorstep, until Eggman turned me into a cyborg by fitting me with a prosthetic hand and a heart battery, but I escaped before he could wipe my memories and turn me into a slave."
"I'm Cyo's girlfriend. My name is Bonnie The Hedgehog." said the sky-blue hedgehog, sounding like Merida from the Disney Pixar movie, Brave.
"I'm Cyo's cousin, Noire." said the lioness, sounding like how Nala does in the 2019 Lion King movie.
"I'm Noire's boyfriend, Noah." said the white lion, sounding like Kakeru Miwa from Shikizakura mixed with Pegasus Seiya from the Netflix-original redubbing of Saint Seiya: Knights Of The Zodiac.
"My name is Alex Darson the Wolf." said the arctic wolf Mobian, sounding like how Tony Stark does in Iron Man: Armored Adventures.
"My name is Brad Johnston the Great Maned Wolf." said the male Mobian great maned wolf, sounding like Legoshi from BEASTARS.
"I'm Brad's lover, Tanya." said the blue female maned wolf, sounding like Sango crossed with Mammoth Mutt.
"I'm Matthew Watanabe the White Tiger." said the white tiger Mobian, sounding similar to Light Yagami from Death Note mixed with Setsuna F. Seiei from Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
"It's gonna be up to all of us, if we wanna stop Eggman from taking over the planet, like what he did last time with Infinite on his side." said Sonic.

Next Time, on Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge: The gang get caught up on what's happening so far, and they learn that Vector is going to be Cream's stepfather, while Tangle and Whisper are getting married soon.
