This story is inspired by the episode "Witch's Curse." A young woman mysteriously shows up in Cabot Cove to rent a run-down and slightly creepy home. In the episode Seth seems mesmerized by the woman. Apparently, Jessica is not the only one who can turn Seth's head, as we soon learn once again.

Jessica was just leaving the post office when she saw Eve Simpson walking through town with a young woman.

Eve immediately saw Jessica mount her bike and rushed right up, "Jessica. Look who's back in town. Can you believe it's been 40 years! Lauren Keegan."

Jessica looked closely at the woman and then smiled, "Lauren! I can't believe it. The last time I saw you was just before your family moved out of Cabot Cove for Boston."

"That's right. I just moved here from Florida and Mrs. Simpson sold me the yellow Cape Cod on Sycamore Lane."

The three ladies began to walk through town, chit-chatting.

"So, what brings you back to Cabot Cove Lauren?" Jessica asked with her usual friendly tone.

"Well, I have so many fond memories of living here, even though we left when I was five. I had enough of the lack of seasons in Florida and decided to move back North. I got my PhD. in Physical Therapy and I figured Cabot Cove would be a great place to set up a small practice."

Just then the women saw Seth by the water buying some fresh seafood.

"Maybe the good doctor could help. Yoo-Hoo, Seth!" Eve started to wave.

Seth turned around to the see the ladies, "Jessica, Eve, and who do we have here?"

"You probably don't remember me Dr. Hazlitt…" but before Lauren could finish the sentence Seth immediately recognized the woman, "Lauren? Little Lauren Keegan?" Seth grasped her hands with both of his and began to shake it. "It's been years since I last saw you. I can still recall that ear-piercing scream of yours every time I had to give you a shot."

"Lauren just moved back to Cabot Cove and wants to open an office. She's a PT you know," Eve informed Seth.

"Really? Well I think you'd make a wonderful addition to the town. I have quite a few patients who suffer the usual aches and pains. Some good exercises and stretches could do a world of wonder. I'd be happy to send referrals."

"Really Dr. Hazlitt? That would be great. I was talking with Mrs. Simpson about renting some space for an office…"

"I tell ya what. Stop by my office tomorrow at 9am. I can talk to you about some patients…maybe give you a few ideas about opening up your office," Seth said with a cheerful smile.

"Ladies, I'll be seeing you. Have a good day," and Seth walked off while Jessica rode her bike back home.

A few hours later, Seth was knocking on Jessica's door.

"Come in, Seth."

"A-yuh. I've got the scallops here and they are beauties Jess!"

Seth began turning on the stove and making himself at home, as usual, in Jessica's kitchen.

"I have the perfect bottle of white wine to go with them," she said.

Jessica had baked some fresh rolls that afternoon and she and Seth enjoyed a light meal of scallops in lemon butter. Seth used pieces of the roll to absorb what was left on his plate.

Jessica prepared the coffee while Seth cleared the table of the dinner dishes.

As they sat down Seth started off the conversation, "imagine little Lauren back here after 40 years. Seems like only yesterday I was weighing her on my infant scale."

"Yes. It will be nice to have someone here to help people stay in good physical health without having to make a zillion trips to the pharmacy for a remedy."

Jessica noticed Seth had a twinkle in his eye and, for a moment, he seemed someplace else.
