Starting a new collection of one-shots! Finding inspriation from some fabulous writers and artists still floating about and putting it into writing. Hoping whoever is reading enjoys! I picture this being in the Boom! universe which I don't usually do, but I'm going to give a few a go! x
Just another day in paradise. The sun's afternoon rays were warm, beating down on royal blue quills as they whipped through the forest. A gentle, summer breeze drifted through the air and not a cloud could be seen for miles. He couldn't help but smile the more he picked up his speed, running to the lake side to stop and soak in the cool chill that wafted off the water. He breathed in deep, taking in the scent of fresh summer flowers in bloom. He was pullled away from his thoughts by the sound of his communicator, bringing his wrist up to see who the message was from.
'Eggman's up to something, but it doesn't seem too crazy yet. If you're out, swing by Amy's then come over and we'll sort it out!' - Tails.
Sonic smirked and rolled his eyes - he figured the grossly obese doctor had to give it up sooner or later. But alas, today apparently wasn't that day. He stretched his back before sprinting off towards Amy's home. The sun was starting to set by the time he strolled up the path to her porch, the sky littered with different warm colours. He knocked loudly a few times, a small smile creeping up on his face as he felt a few butterflies pop in his stomach. They hadn't really said anything to anyone yet, but they'd been seeing a lot more of each other lately. He knew the gang had caught on, but no one said anything - they were all just happy. Look at them all being mature twenty-somethings.
'You here, Ames? Open up!' He called out.
His smiled faltered a little when there was no answer, so he tried again. Still nothing. Weird? She said she'd be home today. He contemplated for a moment before deciding to lift up the door mat for the spare key and let himself in, putting the key back in its hiding spot before closing the door behind him. Everything was immaculate and in it's place, just how Amy liked. So, no one else had been here, that's for sure. He poked his head into the empty kitchen before continuing through the living room. The further he walked he could hear running water coming from the bathroom.
He stiffened a little at the thought she might be showering, not wanting to intrude. He also couldn't stop the thought crossing his mind that if she was, well... He walked up to the bathroom door and tapped a few times to no response. He decided to brave it and slowly creak the door open, his gloved hand across his eyes.
'Ames, Tails mentioned something about an Egghead invasion and he wants us to come over also promise if you're in here I'm not looking I'm just-'
He cut himself off when there was still no response. He dropped his hand to see a few candles lit around the bathroom, their warm glow illuminating the tiles. The tub was filling up with bubbly water. Strange - Amy wouldn't just run a bath and then leave with the water still running? Maybe someone has her! No, surely not. She's fine. He took a breath to calm his racing mind before turning off the taps. He folded his arms and tapped his foot impatiently... where the hell is she? He suddenly heard another door open down the hall, her bedroom door. His quills stood up on end and his muscles tensed - she was here! Oh, God, he didn't want to look weird. He quickly stepped out into the hallway to meet her.
'Ames, I promise I wasn't just bargin' in, I was-'
'AHHHHH!' Amy let out a horrified scream from the fright, folding her arms across her chest and crossing her legs after dropping the towel she barely had wrapped around her bare frame.
'Oh, God, Amy!' Sonic startled, his hands out in front of him, 'I'm sorry, I came over because Tails said Egg-'
He cut himself off, seeing the woman he was quietly obsessing over fumbling around to cover herself up. He couldn't help the fact he really liked what he saw.
'On second thought... not that sorry.' He boldly smirked with a cocked brow.
'Sonic, what the hell is wrong with you?! You scared the crap outta me!' She screeched at him, securing the towel and storming towards him.
He couldn't help but laugh and offer weak apologies as she began to chase him around the house. He didn't let her catch him, but didn't put up much of a fight, playfully hiding behind furniture to get away from her. His smile and laughter still doing things to her, despite her stomach still in knots from the shock and embarrassment. She tried so hard not to laugh, not even smile, but she couldn't stop an embarrassed smirk crossing her muzzle and face palming her forehead as he stopped in the kitchen doorway. Her whole face was bright red, this was not the way she wanted to start off their relationship. She was suddenly aware of how exposed she had been, anxious about if he'd seen anything he didn't like...
'God, you're slow, Ames!' He laughed at her, resting up against the door frame.
'Oh, lay off it!' She couldn't help but laugh through her scolding.
'You know,' he began, boldly moving towards her, 'I bet you'd be faster if you didn't have to hold the towel up...'
Her eyes widened at him before cocking a brow through a nervous smile. She felt her stomach twist up again, this time excitedly. He had liked what he saw? He didn't see the things she didn't like? She couldn't believe those words actually came out of his mouth, suddenly forgetting to ask what he was doing here in the first place. She wanted to say something equally as witty and sexy but she was drawing a complete blank. So, with all of her courage... she dropped the soft, blush coloured towel and let it slide down her legs and hit the floor.
'Oops?' She shrugged flirtaciously, making his eyes almost fall out of his head.
He wanted to keep up the witty charade, but she was making it incredibly difficult.
'Should we find out?' Even his own boldness surprised him as he took step closer, their noses almost touching.
She leaned in, ever so slowly, her eyes hooded and glowing as she was just about to reach his lips before...
'Maybe later.' She said nonchalantly as she reached down for the towel before strutting away.
'Wh- But- I-'
'Something Tails needs us for, right?' She cut off his stammering as she turned around with a wink before continuing to strut away and behind her bedroom door to change.
He watched her incredibly feminine figure disappear behind the door before it closed, his ears ringing with the sound of the closing latch. His mouth hung agape, eyes still slightly bulged before a smirk slowly spread across his face. He inhaled deeply as he looked up at the roof, composing himself. Christ, she was beautiful.
