"Hey bud," Noah said walking into Jake's room slowly.
"Hey," Jake said still half asleep.
"I need to talk to you, "Noah said seriously walking over to where his son was sitting in bed.
"What's up?" Jake asked confused trying to think back to something he might have done.
Noah sighed looking around the room at all the empty beer cans. "I've noticed how much you've been drinking lately."
"What?" Jake asked still confused.
"You know I'm an alcoholic." Noah started but was cut off by Jake saying, "I'm not an alcoholic papa."
"It doesn't matter if you are bud, I and your dad were here for you no matter what," Noah promised.
"I'm not an alcoholic," Jake repeated needing his father to understand.
"If you're not an alcoholic then you can go the whole week without drinking." Noah propositioned.
"I can do that," Jake promised. "I can go the whole week without a drink."
"Good." Noah nodded hoping with everything he has that he's wrong and Jake can go the week. "Then you're going to hand over all the alcohol you have and I'm going to get your dad to get rid of any that's in the house."
"How are we going to know whether he actually does this?" Kurt asked after Noah had told him Jake's plan.
"We'll know if he drinks at home or comes home drunk." Noah pointed out.
"I know you really want this to work but is there really any way of knowing if it does?" Kurt asked.
"Kurt let's just give it a week and see what happens. I don't want to do anything drastic if there isn't any."
"Well give it a week." Kurt agreed placing a hand on Noah's shoulders. "But if it is what we think you're going to do something."
"If it is what we think I will do something," Noah promised.
"I don't know if it's the best idea for us to go away tomorrow." Kurt told Noah when he got back from work on Thursday.
"Kurt the hotel is already booked and paid for." Noah pointed out walking over to were Kurt was cooking Dinner. "I don't think it's going to help if we stop doing things." Noah placed his hands on Kurt's waist.
"I don't think I can go away for the weekend right now Noah." Kurt sighed leaning into his husband.
"Then we don't have to go away for the weekend but I don't think it's going to help." Noah told him. "Jake hasn't drank anything this week as far as we know. And if he's going to drink he's going to do it weather we here or not."
"I know I just think we should reschedule for a little bit. So we can have an amazing time not have me worrying about everything that's happening at home."
"Then that's what we're going to do. I will reschedule for in a couple weeks' time and well go then." Noah promised kissing the side of Kurt's head.
"Thanks." Kurt sighed. "Thanks for being so amazing about all this."
"Of course."
"I think maybe you were right papa." Jake admitted to Noah the next Tuesday.
"Yeah." Noah sighed looking up from his work.
"Yeah. Last week was hell. Not being able to drink. I could wait for Monday to come so I could have a drink. And the minute I could I did." Jake admitted sitting down opposite his dad.
"I know the feeling." Noah told Jake as he leaned forward. "Well get you all the help you need."
"I don't think I could stop." Jake admitted. "I came to you this morning because I wasn't sure if I could go to lunch time without a drink."
"I know right now it feels like you can't do this but I know you can. I was in a worse place then you were when I gave it up but I gave it up and you can." Noah promised.
"I can't do this papa I really can't." Jake panicked.
Noah sighed as he watched his son wishing to hell that he could fix all this for his son but knowing he couldn't. "You gave me and your dad here and well help you anyway we can we just need you to promise that you're going to try."
"I'm going to try I promise I'll try."
"I'm going to go and look around the house and get all the alcohol I can find. You can come to my AA meeting tomorrow." Noah suggested. "That's how we start and then we go from there."
"Okay. Well do that."
"Jake is going to come to my meeting tomorrow." Noah told Kurt that evening.
"That's good." Kurt smiled for the first time in a while walking over to his husband. "What did you say to him?"
"Nothing he came to talk to me this morning. Said he needed help and that he wasn't sure whether he could do it." Noah sighed as Kurt pulled him in for a hug his husband knowing how hard all of this had been for him. "I took all his alcohol away suggested the AA meeting and said we would be there to support him through it all."
"Of course were going to be there for him." Kurt agreed before asking "what did you so with all the alcohol?"
"I chucked it out." Noah promised. "I'm not going to ruin the last ten years of hard work."
"I know you're not I just had to ask." Kurt pulled away a little so he could look Noah in the eyes.
"I know you did." Noah leaned down and gave Kurt a quick kiss. "I love you."
"Love you too. So much."
"How did the meeting go?" Kurt asked Noah when he and Jake got back the next evening.
"He didn't say anything but I didn't for weeks either." Noah told him going to sit at the table. "I think it went really well though."
"Good. Good." Kurt smiled from where he was sitting next to Noah. "He planning on going with you next week?"
"Yeah he said he would. He also agreed to go looking for jobs with me at the weakened. I told him that getting out and doing this will help him not think about drinking." Noah told him.
"Good."
"Can you say anything other than good?" Noah asked jokingly getting a laugh out of his husband.
"Yes I can but there's not much else to say you arse." Kurt lightly smacked Noah on the shoulder. "Things are good right now."
"They are good."
