Well hope you're ready for more, because I'm here to bring it to you!

Three New Miracles

It was a great day for the aviary in Rio de Janeiro as today was the expected hatching of not only three new baby chicks, but well the key to the rebirth of the Blue macaws, as the two last known surviving Blue macaws, none other than Blu and Jewel, would finally become parents. Speaking of which they were both nervous and excited, even Blu, who was normally so headstrong, was pacing back and forth as he was with Jewel by the three little eggs sitting in a nest. Meanwhile Linda and Tulio were there, ready with a camera to document this important moment in Avian history.

"You know, walking about isn't going to help our kids come out faster Blu." Jewel reminded her mate as she was rather surprised at Blu's behavior. "Just give it time, they'll come out when they're ready."

"I know, I know, it just helps keep me calm, you know I hate staying in one place for too long and it has been hours since the day started." Blu told Jewel as he couldn't keep still.

Jewel just rolled her eyes as she let her mate do what he wanted, after all, becoming parents to what was for now the only Blue macaw family was a little stressful to think about. Jewel herself was a little worried, but well some of that worry disappeared when she did the hard job of actually getting the eggs out. After that, it was just the job of keeping them warm and safe until they hatched and that was easy to do because the eggs were kept in a special room in the aviary.

"I wonder what names we'll give them…" Jewel began thinking as it was something to pass the time until they hatched, but as Jewel thought, with her wing placed under her beak, one of the eggs began to shake and the shell began to crack as Jewel, with her wing, got Blu's attention. "Blu look, it's happening." Jewel smiled as Linda and Tulio's attention was also turned, the two humans sitting nearby on a couple of chairs, almost having fallen asleep themselves.

Soon enough a second egg joined in, the shell also shaking and starting to crack and a few seconds later, the third and last one did the same. Everyone else held their breath as the first egg began to break open, the tiny dark blue feathers showing as the top of the shell began free, revealing a rather chubby little male chick with dark blue feathers like his father. A couple seconds later, the second egg followed suit, male and with dark blue feathers, but more slim than his brother. And yet a few more seconds later the last one finally broke free and entered the world, this time a slim female chick, with light blue feathers like her mother. All three had smiles on their little faces as the top of their egg shells were still on top of their heads.

"You ready with the camera Tulio?" Linda asked as she noticed her own husband didn't reply. "Tulio?" Linda turned her head to see that Tulio had the happiest face ever, just as happy as he was on his wedding day.

"Huh?" Tulio asked as Linda waved her hand in front of her face. "Oh right sorry!" Tulio said back as he shook his head a couple of times before looking down at the camera in his hands.

Making sure to turn off the flash, so as not to blind or scare the little chicks, he pointed the camera, focusing the image before snapping off a few pictures, documenting this important moment in history.

"Oh, I still can't believe this day finally came, I can't wait to let every doctor in Brazil know!" Tulio rambled on as he was as giddy as a little school boy, not remembering that he was in the company of others as both Linda and Jewel tried their hardest to not laugh while Blu just gave the human male a funny look.

"Yeah…" Linda said slowly as she turned to Jewel. "Jewel, why don't you and Blu take care of your kids and I'll get Tulio back to his senses." Linda suggested, to which Jewel squawked a "Yes".

As Linda led Tulio out of the room to give the new family their privacy, Blu and Jewel went to get their kids out from their egg shells as the three chicks were a bit tired from their efforts to enter the world, yawning as it came out as little chirps. Blu took out the chubby male and the slim girl while Jewel took care of their other son, the couple making sure to brush away any egg shell pieces stuck to the three. By the time the couple had the chicks cuddled into their soft feathery wings, the three were fast asleep.

"They're perfect." Jewel commented, looking down at her son.

"Yeah, they really are." Blu agreed as the three did need names. "So what are we going to name them?"

"You know I was thinking about that too since the day started…" Jewel thought as she looked down at her son who was sleeping in her wings. "I always liked the name Brandon, how about that for this one?" Jewel recommended to Blu.

"Really?" Blu raised an eye, finding the name to be a little weird for a macaw, but well the old him would very much disagree with that, but well Blu wasn't the old him. "I guess the name will grow on me." Blu replied in the most polite way possible as Jewel saw right through him.

"Thanks…" Jewel rolled her eyes. "So do you have any names?"

"How about Carlos for our other son, I know that name's a little used, but I think it's good for this one." Blu thought as Jewel gave her nod of approval. "I'm not so sure about our daughter, if she was a boy, I would have named him Tiago…"

"Well… What about Tia?" Jewel thought, putting her free wing under her beak. "That's close to the name you thought of."

"Sounds good and has a nice ring to it." Blu agreed with Jewel's idea. "I think we should put these three to bed, we can't stand here all day."

"Good idea." Jewel said as carefully Blu and Jewel took their kids to their prepared nest in the special room, beginning to lay them down, only just as soon as they were going to do so, Tia woke up, beginning to cry a little as Blu wondered what was wrong.

"What's wrong Tia?" Blu asked as Tia's brothers also woke up, following their sister's show of emotion.

"They're hungry." Jewel remembering when she was little and she got Linda's attention for food in a similar way. "Don't worry, I got it." Jewel told Blu as she went to the container filled with fresh fruits, bringing some back as she put them in her beak and well chewed them up, softening them into a mush before passing them on to her kids.

Even after remembering his own mother doing it for him when he was little, Blu felt a little weird seeing Jewel doing so to their kids, he was just thankful that he didn't remember what the taste was like. And thankfully it wasn't too long as Jewel finished up, the three chicks satisfied and their hunger eased as they went right back to sleep.

"It's a good thing I practiced for this moment, otherwise it would feel strange." Jewel commented, taking a fresh wipe, using it to clean up her messy beak.

"You missed a spot." Blu told Jewel as he came and proceeded to gave Jewel a kiss on the side of her beak.

"Okay, okay, mister…" Jewel chuckled as she playfully pushed Blu off her. "Well the kids are asleep, so we have some time to ourselves."

"Shouldn't we tell our friends about this, you know let them know?" Blu wondered as the kids were surely safe and sound.

"No, lets wait for tomorrow, we should stay here and watch over them, make sure they're fine." Jewel replied as she would be worried for the three, even if they were safely inside the aviary, after all… Blu and Jewel themselves were captured while inside the aviary when Jewel came to Rio on her first day here. "Remember our crazy adventure?"

"I guess you have a point." Blu remembered. "And I swear if that cockatoo or anyone else tries to hurt them…" Blu forming a fist with one of his wings.

"It wouldn't happen Blu and we'll get Linda to watch over them tomorrow while we go tell our friends the good news." Jewel told her mate. "But for now, how about we just lay down and enjoy some rest ourselves."

"Sounds good." Blu said back as the two went to their own nest, not far away from the three sleeping chicks, Blu laid down as Jewel followed right after, Jewel nudging herself into Blu her head touching his soft warm chest as Blu wrapped his wings tight around her, than giving her a kiss on top of her head. "Life's only going to get better from here on out Jewel, I can feel it."

"Yup, not just for us, but a new start for our kind." Jewel reminded Blu as she sighed happily and closed her eyes, thinking of the wonderful future the family will have. "Life's all good now." Jewel smiled.
