Weiss Schnee truly believed that this Initiation was going perfectly. Her few exchanges with other student hopefuls had left her in a good place in regards to her skill level, with plenty of aura left to spare. If there was one thing she was worried about, was her lack of a partner. She had bumped into a few partner groups already, as well as escaped from a few hopeful singles while their backs were turned. Nobody had so far looked to be a strong and worthy partner for her.

She needed someone strong. Someone bold. Someone completely perfect and willing to let her call the shots. As any true leader would.

Yes, everything was going quite well for Weiss. Save a single particularly annoying exception.

"Blast it!" She scowled, her heels catching on an exposed tree root once again. Barely saving herself from an awkward tumble, she brushed off her dress and fixed her sword belt on her waist. "These trees and vines are beyond hazardous to one's health."

Pausing to lean on a large log, she pulled off a shoe and checked her foot. Just as she expected, a blister on her heel. She sighed. Weiss had experience in heels, having spent most of her life walking, running and fighting in them. But most of her training had been on solid ground.

"Not godforsaken forests," she grumbled, rubbing her foot to ease some of the strain before placing her shoe back on.

It did not matter. She doubted most of her time would ever be spent in forests or places which would cause her any trouble. She was a kingdom huntress after all. She would most definitely be taking her missions well within kingdom borders or if needed, in some of the many villages and towns which sprung up haphazardly around Remnant.

But that was a future concern. For now, only one thing mattered and that was finding someone worthy to be her part-

She walked tall and proud. Her golden armour and bronze plating on her arms, legs and chest gleamed in the delicate midmorning sunlight. Her red hair swayed from side to side as she walked, held back by a helmet shaped to sit like a crown.

Her weapons, a mecha-shifting sword and a round shield clung to her back, out of the way to allow for maximum arm movement, but close enough to reach for at a moments notice.

It was Pyrrha Nikos. The four timed Mystral tournament champion. The public proclaimed, 'Invincible Girl', famed for having a near spotless win record. Known for being kind-hearted, generally quiet and studious.

Weiss allowed herself to smile. Yes, she would be beyond the perfect partner.

Now all she needed to do was make a proper introduction. She knew it had to be something bold, something that would show the Invincible Girl just how great a partner Weiss Schnee would make. Weiss was almost sad that there were no other students or professors nearby to fight with. Jumping in to save her would be a most brilliant way to win her favour.

But alas, it was not to be. Quickly looking around, though with a particularly heavy gaze on her target partner, she could not see anyone nearby. It looked to be just the two of them.

"Perfect," Weiss muttered, unsure if it was a positive expression at having complete privacy from others hoping to claim her prize, or a negative, at lacking any feasible way to show her how strong she was.

Weiss decided to accept the situation and not look a gift horse in the mouth. At least not too much.

Sparing only another minute to formulate a strategy, detailing what she would say to Pyrrha Nikos, as well as best prove to her, her own talents, she took a confident stride forward.

Only to trip and tumble into another girl with shouts of, "hey! Watch it!"

So, who do you think Weiss bumped into? My money's on Ruby. Just a very quick chapter today.

Psiah - Too true. Too true indeed.

Therecklessone - Cute girls save lives. It's just a fact.

Zapper Frost - Ilia is the epitome of disaster gay and I'm so happy I chose to use her.

Darknight2124 - Who knows how the teams are gonna be shaken up. Cuz I sure don't! Hmmm... maybe once I get the pairings settled, I'll leave it to a reader vote... Maybe.

merendinoemeliano - Thank you!
