Chapter 2: A new friend

As the herd of migrating Longnecks went on to find a place to rest, Littlefoot turned back to his grandfather.

"Uh, Grandpa. We're not going to migrate. Are we?" He asked.

"Of course not Littlefoot. The Great Valley is our home." Grandpa answered.

"Oh Littlefoot." Ducky said to him. "I am so glad you are not leaving. I am. I am. The Great Valley will never change. Oh no no no no no."

"Me glad you not leaving too." Said Petrie. "Me miss you whole bunch."

"I'd miss you too Petrie." Littlefoot replied.

"You were my first friend ever. I'b be nothing without you." Said Chomper.

"I'd miss you the most too." Said Littlefoot. "Especially you Ruby. I wouldn't want to leave my girlfriend behind."

"Ha ha. You really do flatter me. Flatter me, you really do."

And of course, Spike ended up licking his neck, making him laugh.

"Does this mean you'll miss me too Spike?" He asked.

And Spike nodded. He'd really miss Littlefoot.

"Cera. You'd also miss me. Right?"

Cera hesitated. She knew that she'd miss him. But she was too proud to admit it.

"Well...I...uh...Oh! Maybe I would. Maybe I wouldn't. I'm not telling."

"Why are you not telling?' Ruby asked. "If it's a secret to you, then it could be why you're not telling."

"Well, if you really want to know, you'll have to catch me first."

Without warning, Cera dashed into the forest with the others behind her.

"Me catch you Cera." Said Petrie.

"You can run, but you can't hide from my sniffer." Said Chomper.

However, Littlefoot and Ruby were falling behind as they ran across a fallen log until they lost sight of Cera.

But, as they stopped, they heard something from the bushes down below. It sounded like someone laughing. Someone there age.

"Who's there?" Ruby asked as she and Littlefoot walked over to the bush.

"Is that you Cera?" Littlefoot asked as he and Ruby looked inside.

However, while they weren't looking, a purple Longneck stepped out from behind and bit both Littlefoot and Ruby on their tails.

"Ow!" They both shouted.

"Okay Cera. You asked for it." Said Ruby.

Of course, the other Longneck was quick enough to hide herself inside the log. However, It began to brake as she fell and ended up hanging upside down from the pace she was holding on to. Plus, she was face to face with both Littlefoot and Ruby. Causing them all to yelp as the peace broke off and made her fall to the ground.

"Hey. You're not Cera." Said Littlefoot. "You're a Longneck like me."

"I'm Ali. What's your name?"

"Littlefoot. And this is my friend Ruby."

However, Ali didn't know that Ruby was a Fast-runner. To her, Ruby looked like a two footer Longneck.

"Wanna play with me?" She asked.

"Well," Ruby tried to say, but Ali took it as a yes.

"Great. Not it. You're it."

It was tag. And Littlefoot giggled sense he knew he was it.

"Maybe. But not for long."

With that said, Ali and Ruby ran away from Littlefoot as he began to follow them.

Meanwhile, the others have cornered Cera into a bush as Ducky, Petrie, and Chomper were poking her with sticks while Spike was eating the bush.

"Alright already. I'll tell Littlefoot that I'll miss him. Then will you be happy?"

"Hey look." Ducky said as she turned around. "There are two Littlefoots. Uh...feets?"

"There's can't be two Littlefoots." Said Chomper. "They don't small the same. But let's go and see anyway."

Littlefoot was arriving still with Ruby and Ali. But as the others walked over, Ali gasped.

"See? She's not another Littlefoot." Said Cera. "She's a girl."

"Yep yep yep. She is a girl." Said Ducky.

"Hi everyone." Said Littlefoot. "This is Ali."

"Hello Ali." Said Cera. "My name is Cera and I'm a Three-horn."

"Hi hi hi." Said Ducky. "My name is Ducky. And this is my brother Spike. He can not talk like us. But still says hello."

"Hello Ali. Me Petrie."

"And I'm Chomper. One of many friendly Sharpteeth here in The Great Valley."

Ali gasped again as she hid herself behind Littlefoot and Ruby.

"Sorry. But I'm afraid." She said.

"Are we scary?" Ducky asked.

"I might be more scary because I'm a Sharptooth." Said Chomper.

"Oh Yes." Said Petrie. "Petrie very scary." With that said, Petrie began to puff himself up into a ball. Making Ducky laugh as she poked him and let all the air out of him.

"Well it just so happens that Three-horns can be very scary." Cera said as she growled. Making Ali shiver some more.

"Cera! You're not helping!" Said Littlefoot.

"Sorry."

"Forgive her." Said Ruby. "There's nothing scary about them. They are really nice. Nice they really are."

"But Ruby, they're not Longnecks like you, me, and Littlefoot."

"I'm not a Longneck. I'm a Fast-runner."

Ali gasped again. She couldn't believe it. This whole time she was playing with a Fast-runner. But then again, Ruby was very nice to her. She was used to other Longnecks by now, but maybe she should get to know Ruby more. And the others as well. For they were thinking the same thing.

Except Cera of course. From her point of view, Ali wasn't scared. She was stuck up. She thought Ali was trying to pull Littlefoot away from them. Chomper took note of this however. He wished for once that Cera would think more wisely instead of just believing everything her dad says. But there is a small chance that Cera will make friends with Ali soon.

Authors note:

I didn't think that this chapter would be this short. But I guess it is what it is. Just so you know, like I said before, Littlefoot and Ali are only friends in this because Ruby is the one who Littlefoot's in love with.
