It's been nearly two months since the "defeat" of Trihexa. Life for Issei returned to normal. Well, as normal as it gets for him. After hearing about his achievements a good friend of Issei who moved to the states was coming to visit him. Since it had been so long he wanted to meet with him alone. That's why he had everybody in the house out doing their own thing. He just wanted to talk one on one and reminisce about before he became a devil.
A knock at the door got Issei's attention. Opening it up revealed a man around Issei's age. He had blonde hair and violet eyes. He wore a open black over coat with a red tee-shirt and blue jeans. In his left hand was a U.S.A. quarter that he constantly flipped. Issei thought about how he would do the same when they were kids.
"Erwin! It's good to see you again." The two hugged each other. Erwin knew of the super natural long before Issei did. His family were monster hunters, like the Belmont's. The only difference was that they only went after the insane and human threatening monsters. He never told Issei because of some weird family rule. The two of them sat down, "So how have you been?" Issei started the conversation. Erwin smiled at him.
"I've been good. A few monsters nearly killed me from time to time but I made it out ok. I'd ask you the same thing but I kinda already know. Issei the Oppai Dragon and the Harem King. I still can't believe it no matter how many times I say it." The two shared a hearty laugh together. "Oh, hey! Have you ever heard of the many worlds interpretation?"
"You mean the theory that says all interpretations of choice you did and didn't make exist at the same time?" Erwin grinned at his understanding.
"That's the one. I always thought about how changing one thing, just one simple change can uproot everything we know as it is." Issei looked confused.
"What do you mean?" Erwin started flipping his coin again.
"I mean like, what you eat for breakfast, standing two inches to the left. Hell, even thinking of a different color could change everything."
"I don't think that something astas simple as what color I was thinking would change much in the long run."
"Oh no? What if, say, when you were killed by Raynare, or as you most likely know her Yuuma, you thought about a different color than red. What if you didn't think of Rias' red hair but thought of... Serafall's deep blue eyes. You would have been her pawn or whatever piece she chose. Rias never gets away from Riser. Koneko doesn't get to know her sister. Kokabiel starts a war. Hell, even the peace treaty might go up in flames and starts a new war if Kokabiel is defeated somehow." Issei chuckles at the man.
"I don't think it would really change like that?" It was Erwin's turn to chuckle.
"What if I could prove to you that you're wrong? That something as simple as the color your thinking of can change history as we know it." He tossed the coin at Issei's face. Issei cought it in relative ease. When he moved his hand he saw Yuuma in front of the fountain in the park. Issei's felt so much weaker. Like he was human again.
"Issei, can you do something for me?" He was completely confused. Why was he reliving one of his worst nightmares?
"Wha...What is it?" He was pretty sure what was going to happen next.
"Can you die for me?" Yuuma transformed into Raynare. She grew taller, taking on a more mature appearance, and her eyes changed, taking on a darker, more evil look. Her clothing also changed dramatically, now consisting of black, strap-like objects around and under her breasts, a thong-like piece held around her hips by three thin straps, gloves that ran right up her arms with small lengths of chains hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting from her right shoulder, and black thigh-high heel boots.
She created a spear of light and threw it at him. It went straight through his chest, destroying his heart. The pain, the smell of blood, and the feeling of his life slipping away felt so real and familiar. That's when he remembered Erwin's words.
'What if you didn't think of Rias' hair but thought of... Serafall's deep blue eyes.' Issei never really thought of Serafall. Sure she helped him from time to time but he never really got to know her. Erwin was right about her eyes however. They were like a whirlpool that only drew him in more as he thought of them. Next to him a light blue magic circle appeared. He couldn't see the person coming out clearly but he did make out a lot of pink. The sounds of ice freezing over everything was all he heard before he passed out.
When he woke up he was starring at a unfamiliar ceiling. He sat up to find pink sheets with a magical girl on it over his body. The walls of the room were a light pink and covered in posters for Magical Girl Milky Spiral Seven.
"Good you're up." He turned to look at a smiling Serafall. "I don't know how to say this but you died. But don't worry, I brought you back as a devil in my Peerage." She gave her signature wink and jumped on the bed to hug him. However, only one thing was going through Issei's mind.
'What the hell is happening?'
