-Twelve years later-

July 15th, 1999, 4:30 P.M.-

-In the Pacific off the coast of Sakuyama Island-

The green American intelligence helicopter, which had just taken off from the Aircraft Carrier RSS Washington, flew over the Sakuyama region where the Soviet submarine Black Heart last transmitted its current position before disappearing.

Rumors had been circling about for a decade that a giant sea monster had been in the area and was responsible for the submarine disappearances and sinking ships.

Today, the United States navy had taken up the task of investigating Soviet sub disappearances and was looking into a distress call from their own subs.

On board the helicopter, Doctor Baker, wearing his laboratory coat, held onto the Geiger counter as he used it to scan for any signs of radio activity as Col. Davison manned the helicopter's controls and kept it aloft so it would not crash into the water.

Doc Baker was a man in his late 50s, with slow-graying hair and wrinkly skin, he'd been a professor of science, biology and the study of radioactivity.

Davison was a pilot in the air force, often flying helicopters instead of airplanes as choppers did help get most of the work done when it came to intelligence gathering.

However, the Geiger counter was not the only thing Doctor Baker held on to in one hand, he held a camera in the other, mostly to catch footage the scenery or snap photos of anything they found. As they hovered over the Sakuyama coast, Baker and Davison spotted a red spot below in the ocean, just 1 mile away from the shore of Sakuyama island.

But it wasn't a volcano, it was different as not only was it a red spot, it was glowing brightly and bubbling as if something was about to emerge. "I think we just found a hotspot, doctor." Davison declared, "What should we do?"

"Lets go have a closer look." The doctor suggested, curiosity getting the best of him. "I think that's probably what's left of the HMS Roosevelt. Whatever's down there, its causing my Geiger counter to go haywire and deserves coverage."

As he was speaking, his yellow Geiger counter box's meter was going into the red zone and its scanner hose was making all kinds of crazy noises. Davison steered the chopper down, very carefully. But just as he was steering down, the bubbling intensified and a huge tail shot out of the water.

"What is that?!" Doctor Baker exclaimed.

"I dunno, doc." Davison replied, pulling up a bit just in case the tail emerged again, "What do you make of… Wait. Something's coming up!"

BEEP BEEP BEEP! The Geiger counter went mad, the source of the radiation had been discovered. Davison was right, through the bubbling, a black mass was emerging and the red glow vanished, the huge creature was becoming visibly clearer.

It was...

Davison shrieked, "ITS GODZILLA!" That's right, Godzilla was back! But it wasn't the one destroyed by the oxygen destroyer; it was a new one almost like the first.

50 meters higher at 100 meters high with black skin, orange eyes, jagged dorsal plates and a burlier body than the first. Godzilla reared back its head, ignoring the helicopter, and roared. "AYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-ONNNRNGK!"

Just as the second Godzilla was more monstrous-looking than his predecessor, his roar was just as bad, even sounding scarier. The creature's past?

It was just like the 1954 Godzilla's backstory, starting out as a dinosaur. However, this Godzilla was the last of the Godzillasaurus from the beginning, unlike the first Godzilla, who lived with other members of his species before the nuclear tests happened.

In 1944, the Godzillasaur was residing on the Jantosea Islands when it was gravely injured during American bombings against Japanese forces as McArthur's forces pushed back the Japanese army and liberated the islands.

Amazingly, the locals living on the island ignored the dinosaur.

However, as the Japanese were retreating, one soldier named Satuyama found the injured dinosaur and snapped a photograph of it, hoping to keep it for the rest of his life as one of many people to have encountered a dinosaur without being eaten alive as the creature did not bother to attack humans.

Despite its seemingly grievous injuries, the Godzillasaur was able to cling to life long enough to survive into 1956, two years after the first Godzilla was destroyed, when nuclear testing healed its wounds. But the radiation not only healed the dinosaur, it began the mutation.

Leaving the place that had been its home for a while, the Godzillasaur hid beneath the ocean, rarely coming to the surface, and fed off the radiation from nuclear test sites as it evolved.

In the late sixties and early seventies, after feeding off as much radiation from a malfunctioning American nuclear sub, the beast finished evolving. Eager to increase its size and strength, Godzilla attacked Black Heart and later attacked other nuclear submarines.

Finally, having fed off enough radiation from nuclear submarines and nuclear testing fallout for a time underwater, Godzilla was ready to unleash his destructive powers and feed off radiation elsewhere on land. It was time for the world to know one thing…THE KING OF THE MONSTERS WAS BACK, MORE DANGEROUS AND STRONGER THAN HE WAS BEFORE!

The earth was going to shake under Godzilla's footsteps and nothing was going to stand in his way this time.

"We better return to base, doctor." Davison stammered, "That guy looks ugly and I do not wanna get fried by his nuclear ray. What do you think?"

Baker had been snapping photos and taping the whole thing, "I think I agree with you, Davison. Return to base, get in touch with the commander and contact the white house as well as the United Nations press and tell them this; Godzilla is still alive after forty-four years and nothing can destroy him."

As the helicopter flew off, back towards the RSS Washington, Godzilla roared menacingly again, "RRRGYAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-RNGK! Grrrrrrrrrrrr! GYArrrrrrrrrrrrrr! SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-OOOOOOOOOOONK!"

Eager for his first real challenge, the towering Kaiju Dinosaur swam towards the parked American aircraft carrier and the group of battleships flanking it like bodyguards, knowing that he was invincible and his enemies were not unbeatable and they could be devastated.

"WE GOT AN ENEMY INBOUND!" Fleet commander John Kyle shouted, watching through his binoculars from the battleship Nevada II as Godzilla approached, "PREPARE TO FIRE!"

The aircraft carrier commander, Jack Lee Hawkings, was in shock to see the giant monster himself after years of hearing stories about the 1954 Tokyo attack and hoping he'd never have to actually see for real.

But here he was, seeing a legend become real, regardless if this monster was the same one that had been disintegrated the Oxygen Destroyer or a different one. Scrambling to their combat stations, the fighter jet pilots climbed into their Mach Three jets and took to the sky, gunners on the battleships began loading the bullets into the ships' turrets.

"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-OOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNK!" Godzilla howled, "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK SKRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGK!"

His roaring sent chills down the spine of every man on the ship and in the planes, but the navy commanders swallowed their fear, they would not go down without a fight, they would fight until one of them was defeated and slain.

"Look at the size of that thing." Air Force pilot Captain McGregor exclaimed, looking at Godzilla, knowing he was 100 feet tall.

"Cut the chatter, McGregor." Air force lieutenant Hayden chided, "Accelerate to attack speed, let's do it. All fighter pilots report in."

"Black two, standing by." McGregor replied.

"Red eight, standing by." Red eight answered.

"Shadow four, standing by." Shadow four responded.

"GIVE THIS BAD BOY SOME HECK!" Hayden shouted.

The fighter jets swarmed Godzilla, firing their payload of bullets at the beast, actually hitting him, only for the giant monster to remain unscratched. "OPEN FIRE!" John Kyle shouted, "BLAST THE DAMN BEASTLY BASTARD OUT OF THE WATER!"

The battleship batteries roared to life, firing upon Godzilla and actually hitting him. But, like with the jet fighters, the ships could not scratch the surface of the ugly beast. "AYYYYYYEEEEEEEEE-OOOOOONGRRRRRRRRRRRRRNK!" Fed up already with messing about, Godzilla decided it was time to unleash his radioactive might on the planes and the navy. His dorsal plates glowed light blue as he reared back and soon as he'd charged up enough strength, Godzilla opened his mouth and a gigantic stream of blue energy shot forth.

Battleship Hawaii was the first to get obliterated by Godzilla's nuclear breath, the crew screamed as they were engulfed in a fiery explosion, knowing that this was the only time a fiery damnation would claim them all as the great cloud in the sky awaited them.

Setting his sights on the planes attacking him, the big G shot them all out of the sky before turning his attention to Nevada II. As the beast attacked the ship, Jack Lee Hawkings took off his hat and saluted one last time before the fire and explosions vaporized his ship and his entire crew with it.

All that remained was the aircraft carrier, even as the chopper carrying the captain, a scientist and a pilot was taking off to escape being obliterated by the irradiated beast from a prehistoric past.
