Chapter 2: May
Age 749, May 4th
Today, we were assigned a book to read over the next two weeks. "Lunar Battle", it's supposed to be a space opera or something. I've read the first 20 or so pages but a romance hasn't even developed between anyone yet. Why can't they assign a book that appeals the to romantically deprived among us? In case you can't tell, still no boyfriend… or even a date. Ugh, it hasn't even been a full month since I started High School and it already seems like it's been going on forever.
Age 749, May 14th
I finished "Lunar Battle" early. After the first 50 pages it really started to pick up and was actually rather interesting. A romance did develop later on, I just had to be patient. Maybe I should be more patient and give High School a chance.
Age 749, May 16th
Screw patience, High School is horrible!
Age 749, May 17th
OK, maybe I overreacted yesterday but Mr. Horikawa gave me a C on my "Lunar Battle" report. He said I only focused on the themes of romance and missed out on the various other themes he said were more prominent in the text. He could have been clearer on what he was looking for! It's not fair! Now my GPA is going to suffer because of this grade. And it's only Literature, it's not like it's actually that important.
In other news, I'm continuing to help dad at home with several Capsule Corp projects. These have been providing me the necessary release from the stresses of High School. Right now, we are working on a world-wide radar system to detect radioactive material by focusing on energy frequencies. Dad say's it will help the military in keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of bad guys. I'm just happy to be working on something where my skill-sets are being put to good use.

It's been over a week since receiving my C from Mr. Horikawa and I'm still mad about it. But as mom reminded me "It's not the end of the world" and then she offered me some muffins. OK, but seriously, is she some kind of homemaker robot?
Anyway, we are getting a new assignment from Ms. Tsuru tomorrow and I'm excited about it. Her class can be a little dull at times but she's been pretty good at giving us creative assignments that challenge us to look at the world in new ways.
Age 749, May 26th
We received our assignment today from Ms. Tsuru, and it is to find five random, but unique, objects in our house. Then we are supposed to write about its purpose, and how our family came to own it. Seems easy enough. It leaves me with the weekend to go digging around our garage and basement to see what I can find.
Age 749, May 28th
The garage didn't provide much success in finding items for Ms. Tsuru's assignment, so I went down to our basement where we have a whole lot of stuff that my parents have collected over the years with their travels. Here is what I found:
- The original Hoi-Poi Capsule (this was the only item not found in the basement)
- A flux capacitor
- A wooden idol of a woman with very long legs.
- A gameboard with 30 blue, red, and green pieces to it
- An orange ball with two stars in it
Now I have to find out the story behind each item. The first one should be easy but the others might provide a bit more challenging, which is why I chose them.
