None of these characters belong to me. All of them belong to Rick Riordan.

Percy was in love. He knew it as soon as he saw her. He was on the subway, heading to his moms apartment, when she got on. Her curly blonde hair was pulled back in a low ponytail, and her grey eyes darted around, looking for a spot to sit. Her eyes landed on Percy, and she started walking over.

"Hello! Is this seat taken?" she asked. Her voice was smooth, talking with ease. "No, you're welcome to sit." Percy said, hoping he wasn't blushing. He patted the seat next to him. "Thank you!" she said. "My names Annabeth Chase, you?" "Percy. Percy Jackson." he answered.

Percy tried to go back to playing games on his phone, but he was so distracted by the girl sitting next to him. The subway stopped. Annabeth looked up. "You're not a New Yorker, are you?" Percy guessed. She nodded. "I'm from Virginia, but I come here often to visit some friends of mine."

After a bit, the subway started again. Annabeth let out a little sigh of relief. How can she be so cute, all the time? Percy thought to himself. He looked at his phone, when Annabeth asked, "Can I have your number?" Percy was shocked. "Oh, uhm, sure!" he fumbled around for his phone. She put her number in, and smiled. "Great! Do you wanna meet up soon? My friends would probably love to meet you!"

"Yeah, I'll bring some of mine!" Annabeth go up. "Well, this is my stop. I'll see you soon?" she asked. Percy nodded.

As she got off, their eyes met. Grey meeting sea green. For a moment, nothing else mattered.

When Percy got back home, his mom asked him why he was so happy. "It's nothing." he told her. But how could it be nothing, when he just met the love of his life?
