The next day, Annabeth texted Percy As soon as I saw the notification, his eyes lit up. He resembled a kid on Christmas Eve.
Hey Percy!
Hi!
Do you wanna come to the beach with me and my friends?
Sure, can I bring some of mine?
Of course! Meet up at 3?
Done. Great, see you there!
See you!
Percy hugged his phone tight. This was his connection to Annabeth, and he was going to hang on to it, no matter what.
He called some of his friends, and they agreed to come with. "Fine, Percy. But only if I can bring Will." Nico said. Percy agreed to the terms, and they started getting ready.
At the beach, Annabeth waved over to Percy. Jason bumped him. "That Annabeth?" he guessed. Percy nodded. Frank came up. "Psst, guys. Look!" He pointed at Will and Nico. They were bickering, but you can obviously tell they liked each other.
"Hi Annabeth! This is Jason, Leo, Nico, Will and Frank." Percy introduced. Annabeth waved. She introduced her friends, but Percy was more paying attention to her beautiful eyes. A girl with cinnamon hair, kept staring at Percy. He felt a bit awkward, but managed to stay calm.
Percy went straight for the water. He never knew his dad, but his mom told him that she met him at the beach. He always felt like he had a special connection with water.
Annabeth stayed on land, which made Percy a little disappointed. A girl with dark hair got in the water. She jumped in, and Jason looked behind her. He was blushing. Percy smirked. He knew plenty of girls who liked Jason, but he never liked any.
"Hey Annie!" called out the girl in the water. Her eyes changed colors and sparkled. "Don't call me that, Pipes!" Annabeth shouted. "Pipes" got out the water and sat next to Jason. Percy could see blush on both their faces.
Leo was on the beach making something. He suddenly looked like he had an idea. He looked around in a tool belt his dad gave to him. He pulled out something that looked like mini wings. They attached with ease, and Leo tossed it up in the air. "Yo guys! Check this out!" Leo yelled. The creation was flying now, above Leo. People on the beach stared at it. A couple of kids nearby, were pointing, showing their parents. It flew down into Leo's hand.
"Leo, how'd you do that?" Jason asked. He shrugged. "I dunno." Leo said, as if that explained everything.
Annabeth was reading. Dude, we're at the beach! Do something else! Percy thought. He gained an idea. Percy got up, and started walking towards Annabeth. Her hair was in a higher ponytail, and her grey eyes were paying attention to her book. Some of her friends realized what Percy was doing, and came over to help. By the time she looked up, Will, Nico, Piper, Calypso, Leo and Percy were above her.
"Uhh, what are you guys doing?" she asked nervously. "You have disrespected the rules of the beach. You shall go now." Percy said, very seriously. "What rules?" She asked. Percy didn't reply. He and 5 others picked her up, and marched toward the water.
"I demand you to put me down!" she shrieked. People on the beach were looking at them, some laughing and others horrified.
They tossed her in the water. She hadn't come up yet.
One, two, three... how long could she hold her breath? It became a minute, and Percy dived in to save her.
