None of the characters belong to me. They all belong to Rick Riordan.
AN: This isn't my concept. I was scrolling through google, and saw an image of someone drawing the Kanes and Percabeth together at a school, and it sparked an idea in my empty head. So, here it is! I can't find the original drawing, but once I do, I'll put it here straight away to give credit for the idea. Thanks for reading!
[Percy's POV]
"Percy! Wake up!" Mom called. "First day at school!"
I groaned and flipped over. After my 6th expulsion, Mom decided to make it her top priority to get me a B at least.
After a few more attempts at waking me up, Mom stormed upstairs and screamed "PERSEUS JACKSON!"
I quickly fumbled up. Mom was usually nice, but when she got mad... you don't wanna be the one she's mad at.
"GET DRESSED THIS INSTANT!" She ordered, and stormed away.
Now, I would say downstairs, but we lived in a two bedroom apartment. My room wasn't even mine. My stepfather, Gabe, used it as a "study".
I grabbed a white shirt, blue hoodie and jeans. After 6 different schools, one learns that people don't care how you look on the first day.
I braced myself for Gabe before stepping out. When nothing came, I opened an eye. Just Mom making pancakes. I walked over, and before I could ask, Mom said "Gabe's at his friends place. They're playing a huge game of poker."
"Oh."
"Anyway," Mom said. "Eat quickly. We can't have you being late on your first day!"
I nodded and ate quick as she instructed. You don't want to get on her bad side.
"Oh, I'm going to miss you so much while you're gone. Promise you'll write."
"Of course. And I'll miss you too."
"Bye!" I waved.
I then started the route towards the subway.
As I walked, I had my focus on two things.
1. Not getting lost. Seriously, Manhattan is HUGE. They should give a guide to any and every person.
2. Storybook Boarding School. The school I was attending.
This place was supposed to be for troubled teens. Me, troubled? Of course not. I'm an absolute ange- ok, even you're not dumb enough to think that. I may have been kicked out of 6 schools in the past 6 years.
Before you leave, its not my fault! Things just happen to me. Like in third grade, some man stalked me on the playground. And another time I may have fired a war cannon on a field trip at the Saratoga Battlefield.
Anyway, Mom decided this was the best place for me to go. Gabe wanted to send me to military school (which I've already gone to. Didn't work).
I boarded the subway, and sat down. I didn't mean to sleep, but as I closed my eyes, it felt easier to drift unconscious. Soon, I was fast asleep.
I rubbed my eyes. I was still on the subway, and by the looks of it, it was almost my stop. "Er.." a voice said next to me. I turned around.
A girl my age was sitting next to me. She had curly honey blonde hair and tanned skin. Your average image of a Californian girl. But her eyes ruined the image, stormy gray. She wore an orange t-shirt and shorts. Around her neck, was a leather necklace with clay beads on it. They were odd, with a different image for each one, and no particular pattern to them. I think one of them had a horseman in a bikini? I'm not sure. On her lap was a book. I don't what the title was, but I do know it was definitely long. I squinted. Was that even English?
I suddenly had faint memories of my dad. He died when I was a year old. I remember him reading to me in Greek, and my mom continuing to teach me till the third grade. It stopped once she heard the man stalking me, but I still understood it. It was a part of me, my dad's side of the family was Greek after all.
I decided that the girl must be foreign, and didn't speak English. "OH I'M SORRY. I WON'T SLEEP ANYMORE. SORRY." I said loudly, making odd hand gestures.
The girl looked confused. "I speak English perfectly well, thank you."
"I didn't know if I should mention this," she continued. "But you drool when you sleep."
That was the last thing I expected to hear. My face burned as I thought how to reply. What am I supposed to say to that? I thought she couldn't speak American, and I was nice about it. But NO. The gods had to get me at least once today.
"Oh, uh, thanks for telling me. I'll try to stop." I said. It was the best I could think of without having to go into strategic thinking, and only second later did I realize how stupid I looked.
The girl simply nodded and continued reading.
I sat there for a few minutes before the subway came to my stop. I got off, and was surprised to see the girl next to me stand as well. Huh.
I walked over to where my mom said Storybook was. I stopped in front of the building. Woah.
It was a huge white building, with 4 stories. It had a large door and students were coming in and out. I stepped inside, and it was even bigger.
It had two staircases on each floor, and different rooms. When you enter, there's a big map of the place on the wall, and smaller ones to carry around.
I searched the map, deciding to start with dorms. I better get some good bunk mates this year. But no matter where I looked, there weren't any dorms.
"Percy?"
I turned around, grabbing a random pen from my jeans pocket. How would I defeat someone with a pen, I'm not sure.
"Percy, dude, it's me!"
A guy stood in front of me. He had curly brown hair and wore jeans. He had crutches, and a wispy goatee. He wore an orange shirt and jeans, with shoes that made him look uncomfortable.
"Am I supposed to-" I started to say, but saw reed pipes in his hand. I had a flashback to when I went to Yancy Academy as a 12 year old.
"Grover?"
His face broke into a huge smile. "You remember!"
"G-man, how you doing dude?" I asked. Grover had been my best friend at Yancy, I felt like I had a duty to protect him from kids like Nancy Bobofit.
Grover held up his pipes. "I was practicing some new songs. I've gotten really good! Wanna hear?" He began to play, but I stopped him.
"As much as I would love to hear you play, I'm new here and want to find a dorm." I interrupted. Grover looked disappointed. He pointed upstairs where there were several doors. I decided I would find one later, and let Grover show me around.
"Ok, wheres the coolest place here?"
He walked across the hall, to a single door.
"Over here," he said. "It leads outside."
I arched an eyebrow. Grover loved the outdoors, and was part of a lot of different clubs to help save the environment.
He sighed. "Just come on!"
Before I could protest, he dragged me outside.
There, was a 4 story building, baby blue with a white trim. There were teenagers of different ages talking to each other, teachers looking through folders, and a group of girls wearing green were feeding a group of bunnies.
"We call this, The Big House." Grover said proudly. "It has our nurses office, the principles office, a few of our classes, the teachers lounge, and the rec room." He must've seen the confusion on my face, because he quickly added "the rec room is basically the students lounge."
"Ok. Now I get what you mean."
Grover laughed, but it was more of a bleat. He makes that sound a lot.
"Oh, there's Juniper. I'm gonna head over. Try not to get in trouble." He said, but before he could go, someone interrupted.
"Hey, look!" A voice said. "A newbie! Shall we give him the initiation?"
A girl came over towards me. She had stringy brown hair, a bandanna around her head, and a look that made me want to hand over my lunch money.
Grover gave another bleat. "M-meet Clarisse. D-daughter of Ares."
"Like that general?" I asked. Ares La Rue was a general in "The Second Titan War". An army of people from an island had come over and started attacking. It wasn't that serious of an assault, but General La Rue had still died. The army went back, but before they fled, we found out they were called the Titans. There'd been rumors that they were recruiting people.
"You got a problem with that?" Clarisse asked.
"Look, I don't want trouble. I just wanna be able to get through without being expelled." I said, backing away.
Clarisse looked back at a group of people, probably her friends. Her face was malformed, I wasn't sure what was going on. But then she started laughing. "Listen here, Prissy." She said.
"Everyone here has gone through it. So now its your turn."
Her friends got up and I booked it to the bathrooms. They chased after me, and I went in. I was sure they wouldn't dare go into the boys restroom, but they came in anyway. "Thought you were tough?" Clarisse said mockingly.
They picked me up and my head started heading towards the toilet.
As my head made it's way, I remembered the pen I had.
I grabbed it from my jeans, and dropped it in the toilet. Her friends weren't the brightest, but Clarisse scowled.
"What was that, Prissy?"
"Erm... it fell out?"
I guess she was eager to put something into the toilets, and decided to let it go.
Right before my head hit the water, I flushed the toilet repeatedly.
The pen clogged, and water started to spew. I managed to jump on top of it before I got wet, but the daughter of Ares wasn't so lucky.
As I watched, time seemed to slow down.
I watched the water spray them down. And I'll admit, even I was a bit sorry. Ok, no I wasn't.
The water eventually went from a hose down, to a light spritz. But the glare they gave me... I was ready to dive into the toilet to escape them.
Clarisse scowled. "This isn't over." She said before stomping away. Her friends trailed.
For the first time that day, I smiled.
It didn't last long. A man in a wheelchair rolled in.
"What in the name of Hades happened?" Uh oh.
Soooooo. What do you think? So far, this is just Percy Jackson characters, but I'll try and add in more. Spoiler: It's probably gonna only be the Heroes of Olympus and The Kane Chronicles cast. Why? Because I haven't read Trials of Apollo, or Magnus Chase. I do know the basics of ToA, I read the first book. For Magnus, I read part of the first book then gave up. So, sorry! I might add little tidbits of Lester and Meg, or Magnus will be mentioned once in a while. Anyway, thats pretty much it for this authors note. Once again, NOT MY CONCEPT. It came from a drawing I saw on Google. Thank you. You may continue doing whatever you were doing before I butted in. Toodles!
