Nathan walked down the stairs from his bedroom and went to the table noticing the Hacker was already in place ready to go over the new case. "Alright Hardison run - ", He paused as he took a count, One Hitter, Grifter, "Where's Parker?"
Eliot pointed up.
"The roof? Why is she on the roof? Doesn't matter someone go get her."
Sophie shook her head, "She's taking a call, it seemed important."
Nate sighed, "Alright, we can either catch her up later or –" he stopped as he noticed the ambivalence from the hitter, the disappointed look from the hacker, and the pleading one from the grifter, "fine we'll wait."
A few minutes passed and Nate sighed, "Who is she calling?"
No one answered so he sighed, "Hardison pull up the security footage from the roof to make sure she's still there."
Hardison nodded typing something into his computer and pulling up the security feed on to the large screen so everyone could see. Parker was sitting on the edge of the roof you could just make out her back and hair.
"Is she still on the phone I can't tell from this angle?" Sophie asked Hardison.
Hardison pulled out Parkers call history and tapped into her cell. "Yep ongoing call to… India… now its at France… New Zealand… whoever she's talking to is using a scrambler."
Eliot and Nate raised an eyebrow at the Hacker for two different reasons.
"Can you tap into all our phones like that? Did you bug us? Dammit Hardison." The Hitter growls taking his cell phone apart and spotting the blinking bug.
"It's just for security purposes brah. I don't go and invade your privacy or nothing… although you should call back that Lilah chick you went out with a couple nights ago. I mean seriously be respectful and let her down gen- "
"HARDISON! We don't spy on the team!"
"Riiiight."
"Enough. Now why would Parker be talking to someone with a scrambler."
"I'm sure she'll tell us if we ask her." Sophie told the Mastermind who shook his head.
"Is that the audio for the current call?" Hardison nodded, Sophie shook her head no, and Eliot growled.
"We can't just invade her privacy!"
"We. Do. Not. Spy. On the Team."
Nate ignored the two and told Hardison to raise the volume.
"That is so awesome! How did he not get caught?" They hear the excited voice of their thief.
"Dumb luck." They hear a man's voice, "Anyways so… George is in trouble any chance you can come and help?"
The team look at one another. Was Parker about to go solo on another job. After last time they really hoped not.
"George… Oh right… umm I'm about to start a new job so if I agreed I wouldn't be able to head out for a few weeks."
"We would need you here by the next few days. Are you sure there is no chance you can come over?"
The team listened intently as they heard the thief hum, "Nope. Sorry Moz, I can go over the blueprints and come out with a plan from here."
"Okay. You should come another time then. I'm sure George could use the help. He's on a tight leash."
They heard Parker scoff, "Tight leash is putting it kindly. He's a total idiot for getting caught. Feel free to tell him I say so."
"Right well once you come up with a plan let us know."
"No problem… How does George feel about parachuting off a building?"
There's some silence on the line and then, "He just got here. Says hi and he rather not, but if there's no other way he'll do it."
"Oh. Hmm. I'll let you know for sure later. What's my cut if I help him?"
Some more silence and then a new voice answers it's a younger man and his voice sounded charming causing Hardison's eyes to narrow suspiciously. "What do you want, Parker?"
"N-George! Hey. Hmm… How about you admit I'm the best and you can pick something out from your haul of treasures."
"Moz! You told her? What part of crazy thief don't you understand?" "It's Parker. She doesn't know everything…"
The younger man sighed, "Fine. But after this you forget about whatever you think you know about the treasure."
"Already forgotten." Parker replies.
"Fine. Parker you were right you're the better thief. Happy."
"It'll do."
They could here another phone ringing in the background, "Parker we got to go it's the suit, contact us on 'Friday' got it." The older man answered.
"… Is that Wednesday?"
"… Not anymore. Make it 'Tuesday'"
"Okie dokie, bye."
The call cut off and they all turned to the screen watching as the thief left the roof and entered the meeting room a few minutes later.
"I know I'm late… What are you guys looking at?" Parker says her eyes narrowing on the screen with her call history and footage of the roof. Her eyes widen before narrowing again in that crazy way that scares even Eliot.
"You spying on me."
Eliot and Sophie point at Nate and Hardison, "We told them not to."
"How much did you hear?"
"Not enough," Nate says turning to the thief, "Who are they Parker and what's the job?"
Parker's glare goes up from a ten to a twelve, but the mastermind is apparently impervious to her, "None of your business."
"Nate just let it go." Sophie says moving in between the two.
"They were using a scrambler you can't say that isn't suspicious."
Parker growls, "They're friends from before I even met you guys. They use a scrambler cause they're smart."
"Friends? From where? Who are they, they're obviously some sort of criminals?"
Parker sighed knowing their leader wouldn't back down. "I met Moz when I stayed in a foster home in Detroit. I met… George later in New York he was with Moz by then. They're conmen, grifters thieves. Whatever you wanna call them. They're my friends and that's all you need to know."
"What's George's real name."
Parker scoffs, "I'm not gonna tell. Now do we have a job or would you rather waste time."
"I agree with Parker, Nate this is none of our business. Now let's get to work helping our client." Sophie tells Nate watching as the thief and the mastermind are staring at each other waiting to see who cracks first.
Nate eventually gives in nodding to Parker, "If you're in any trouble you tell us."
Parker nods.
"Alright. Hardison run it."
