Chapter Thirty
October – Halloween
"Oh look at this chubby baby! Let me just munch on you," Abby said and blew a raspberry on Mason's tummy causing him to smile and let out a laugh.
"Oh is your Auntie Abby being silly?" Olivia asked when she walked over to them. They were currently in the nursery getting Mason changed into his Halloween costume. Olivia and Mira went costume shopping two weeks ago where she picked up a "baby snuggle bear" costume for him while Mira had decided she wanted to be Tinkerbell this year.
"Liv I just can't believe how chubby he is!"
"Well with the way he eats, of course he has some chubbiness. Now do you think you can handle changing him into this while I go to Mira's hair? There's no way Fitz will be able to put her hair up in a bun," Olivia said handing her the costume.
"I got it! Just leave me and my godson alone," Abby responded while doing silly faces to Mason.
Olivia laughed and shook her head. While it took Abby a minute to really embrace the aunt role with her kids, the minute she did it was like it all changed and it was fun to see her with Mira or Mason.
"Daddy, you're pulling my hair!" Olivia heard Mira yelling from the bathroom. She quickly made her way over there to save Fitz from the little girl's wrath.
"Sweet pea, let's not yell at daddy. He was just trying to help," Liv said when she walked into the bathroom.
"I know mommy but it hurts," she said pouting.
Fitz gave Olivia a knowing look and put his hands up. He was glad to see her walk through the doors or else things would have gone south.
"I'm sure it does but still say sorry to daddy. You can't be raising your voice or else we aren't going trick or treating," she said with a stern voice.
Mira pouted even more but turned around and hugged Fitz.
"Sorry daddy. I shouldn't yell," she said.
He hugged her back and patted her head.
"It's okay lovebug but like mommy said yelling is not okay. Mommy will fix your hair but I'm going to be watching so I can learn for next time," Fitz responded and gave her a kiss on her forehead.
He stepped aside and let Olivia get behind Mira so she could pin her curly hair into a bun. He watched and learned how she managed to get all the hair into a ponytail and then into a secured bun with a lot of bobby pins.
"Alright we are almost done; we just need to tie the green ribbon around the hair," she grabbed it from the counter and tired it around Mira's hair.
"All done! Now go find Auntie Abby and your brother so we can go," she said patting her butt.
Mira took that as her cue to run out of the bathroom to find her baby brother. She was excited that she would get to share this with him even though both Fitz and Olivia said that Mason wouldn't stay with them the whole time. It's the reason why Abby had come over. She would take Mira once Mason gets fussy so she can continue to go around the neighborhood and get candy.
"Damn you make that look easy," Fitz said grabbing his fiancée and pulling her into him.
"It does take practice," she responded wrapping her arms around his neck. He bent his head down and pulled her into a kiss. While Olivia had her six week checkup coming up soon, she was starting to feel like normal but Fitz was taking her cues and wanted to make sure she was comfortable with her body and with him before jumping back into sex.
"Mmm…okay we can't continue this right now. Our kids are waiting on us," Olivia said pulling away from him.
"Mmm…why do we have kids again?" Fitz asked jokingly.
Olivia laughed and playfully slapped his chest before she walked out of the bathroom to find her kids and Abby.
"We ready!" Mira jumped up from the couch when she saw her parents coming down the stairs.
"Oh goodness! Alright let's take some pictures before we go."
Mira sighed but got ready for the pictures. Mason was extremely adorable in his aunt's arms in his costume. He was transferred over to Fitz's arms while the family of four took pictures together. After pictures were taken, the family was finally walking around the neighborhood for candy.
An hour and a half later, Mira was all tuckered out from the excitement that she had. About thirty minutes into their walk around the neighborhood, Mason decided he was done with the night so Fitz and Olivia went back home while Mira and Abby continued their little adventure. The little girl was perfectly content spending time with her Auntie Abby who she thought was the coolest person in the world.
"Mira is bathed and in bed. She couldn't even stay awake for her book," Fitz said walking into the bedroom where Olivia was breastfeeding Mason.
"I'm so happy that she had a good time tonight. I'm sad that we couldn't stay longer with her though," Liv said as she moved Mason to burp him.
"Here let me," Fitz said taking Mason to burp him. "Don't feel bad Livvie. She knows we would be with her if we could plus she had Abby. Abby seems to trump us lately."
Olivia laughed knowing that was the truth. Mason let out a couple of burps and it was clear that he was also out for at least the next four hours.
"Alright I'm going to put this little guy down. Why don't you get ready for bed," Fitz said allowing Liv to place a kiss on his forehead.
When he came back he found Olivia in her nursing bra and panties and he never found her more attractive.
"Damn, my fiancée is hot," he said leaning on the doorframe.
"Don't say things you don't mean mister," she said sternly.
"I never do and you look incredible. You don't even look like you gave birth almost three months ago," he responded walking over to her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
"This body did something amazing. It gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and for that I'll always be thankful. You look even more beautiful now than you did when I first met you," Fitz said as he began to place kisses on her neck.
Olivia tilted her head to give him more access to her neck. She moaned as his hands moved up to cup her sensitive breasts.
"Is this okay?" he asked.
"Mmm…more than okay," she responded arching her back. It's been too long since they've had this kind of intimacy. He turned her around pressing his lips to hers, his tongue demanding entry into her mouth which she happily gave and she tugged on his curls trying to bring them closer.
His hips rocked against her causing her to groan into his mouth. He moved his hands to her thighs and lifted her up. He let go of her lips so he could move his mouth to the top of her breasts. He placed her in the middle of the bed then reached behind her to unhook her bra. While he couldn't suck on her breasts like he wanted to, he settled on kissing around them and gently caressing them.
"Fuck," she whispered. She was extremely sensitive and she could just feel herself getting wetter by the minute.
His hands moved down her body and removed her panties.
"Fitz…slow…" she gasped as she spread her legs a little wider when one of hands started to slowly caressing her folds. He started kissing down her body slowly until he got to the place he wanted to.
He ducked his head down and ran his tongue along her folds. His tongue lapped at her and he gently pushed a finger into her. They both groaned at the contact. Fitz's finger pressed against her clit causing her to cry out and arch her back. He knew her body so well.
"Taste so good…"
"Oh god…Fitz…" she said tugging his hair so he could get closer. He ran his teeth along her clit and slipped another finger in her. In and out; he went slowly trying to get her to the edge. She could feel herself getting closer and closer. One more flick along her clit and that was it.
"Fuck…Fitz..." she cried out as she moved her hips desperately against his mouth riding out the waves of her orgasm. He slowly pulled out his fingers licking them clean then moving up her body to pull her into a kiss.
"Wow," she said pulling away from him. They shared a laugh then Fitz got up to clean them off.
"You sure you don't want me to take care of that," Liv asked when he came back.
"Nope. That was for you. I know that you've been self-conscious but you don't need to be. You're perfect the way you are,"
She smiled sleepily and curled up against him when he got back into bed. She didn't know what she did to deserve a man like this but she was going to make sure she kept him forever.
December – Christmas
"Mason, Santa came!" Mira said excitingly to her brother as the family of four walked down the stairs. It was Christmas morning so of course Mira was up bright and early ready to open gifts. But she would have to wait until everyone arrived for Christmas brunch before she could open anything. Charlie, Alex and baby Elizabeth who was now eleven months and showing signs that she wanted to walk.
"You are able to open one gift love bug. Then you'll open the rest when Grammy, Aunt Charlie, and her family get here," Fitz said.
Mira sighed and pouted, "But daddy…"
"No buts sweet pea. Listen to daddy please. You won't have to wait too long, I promise," Olivia said looking at the time. It was 9am and everyone had agreed to arrive at 10am for Christmas brunch.
Mira sighed dramatically but listened to her mom and went over to the tree to pick out her one gift to open. She saw a small box with her name on it and decided she was going to open that one.
"I wanna open this one!"
Olivia and Fitz smiled at each other because it was a necklace they picked out for her. It was a Minnie Mouse birthstone necklace that they knew she would love. Mira quickly opened the gift and opened the box. Her eyes went wide when she saw the necklace.
"It's Minnie!"
"Oh it is! Do you like it?" Liv asked.
"I LOVE IT! Daddy can you put it on?"
"Of course. Now get over here."
Once the necklace was around her neck, the little girl decided she was going to help her brother pick out his one gift to open. It was one of the musical caterpillar baby toy that was a hit with Mason once it started playing music.
An hour later everyone had arrived at the Grant-Pope household and were ready to eat. It was a joyous occasion filled with two more babies which made Katherine happy that her family had expanded. Gifts were already open and wrapping paper was all over the floor.
"Now this is what I call a successful Christmas," Charlie said with Elizabeth in her arms.
"Mom you outdid yourself with this meal," Fitz said as he passed around the plate of french toast.
"It wasn't just me. Olivia and Charlie helped which I thank you both. Now pass me my grandson so you guys can eat," Katherine opened up her arms to take Mason who was completely content being in his Grammy's arms. Liv had just breastfed him so he had a happy little belly.
"He is such a calm baby. I swear Elizabeth is my karma for being a difficult child," Charlie commented.
Olivia laughed, "He has his moments that's for sure but it's usually when he is hungry or needs a diaper change. He is a pretty happy baby which I'm thankful for."
"Extremely jealous but I wouldn't trade my little girl for anything."
"As you shouldn't. Now let's eat before the food gets cold," Katherine said.
For the next hour they enjoyed each other's company and discussed more details about the upcoming wedding. It was three months away and the happy couple couldn't be more ready to make things official. The guest list was finalized and invites have been sent out to their friends and family members. Olivia would be having a fitting soon since it has been four months since Mason was born which has given her time to drop some of the baby weight.
Fitz was in charge of getting the tuxes for the groomsmen which were Stephen and Alex while Olivia had chosen Abby and Charlie as her bridesmaids. They both didn't want to have a big bridal party and decided four people was enough for them. Mira was designated as the flower girl which had excited the little girl when she found out. Fitz had also finalized the honeymoon plans which were still a secret from Liv even if she tried to get it out of him several times.
Katherine was able to get one of her book club friends to lend them her restaurant for the rehearsal dinner which allowed the couple to have one less thing to worry about. Things were coming together and now they were just counting down the days until their special day.
Three months later – March
"Mommy…mommy, time to wake up," Mira said as she gently poked Liv's face. It was officially wedding day and the little girl was so excited that she woke up ready to get the day started. While Fitz and Olivia had tried to explain to the little girl exactly what was going to happen, all she cared about was wearing a pretty dress and having a party.
Oliva slowly opened her eyes to find Mira with a big smile on her face and her wild curls framing her face. They had arrived at the beach house the evening before while Fitz stayed at a nearby hotel. They decided that the girls would be at the house since both Olivia and Charlie would need the room for the babies.
"Hey sweet pea. You're up early," she said brushing Mira's curls from her face.
"I'm too excited and Mason woke me up."
Olivia's eyes widened because she didn't hear her little boy causing her to panic.
"Where's your brother?"
"Auntie Abby has him but she told me to wake you up. It's breakfast time."
Olivia let out the breath that she was holding. She figured that Abby wanted to give her more time to sleep and thankfully she had pumped last night which would have allowed Abby to feed Mason.
"Okay let me go to the restroom and I'll meet you downstairs," Liv responded.
"Okay!" the little girl said and went back downstairs.
Ten minutes later Olivia was downstairs with everyone else. It was a beautiful sunny day and while they wouldn't have their ceremony until sunset there was still so much to do. But for now they were going to enjoy their morning.
"How are you feeling Liv?" Katherine asked.
"I'm feeling oddly calm. I honestly thought I would be freaking out about what needs to get done but I'm not. I'm just counting down the hours until I can walk down the aisle and make this official," she said with a smile on her face.
"That is all you need to worry about. Now we have an appointment at 10 for a facial, pedicures and manicures. I know you said you didn't want to leave Mason so I was able to arrange a house visit for us," Abby said.
Olivia smiled and shook her head. Of course Abby would pull something like this. They had been going back and forth for weeks so Abby said she would handle it and surprise Liv. For the next hour the girls enjoyed their breakfast and discussed their schedule and when everyone would start getting ready. Evelyn, the wedding planner, would be stopping by the hotel to check in with Fitz and the guys before arriving at the beach house to make sure the workers were on track to have the ceremony and reception areas set up.
By noon, the girls finished up their manicures and pedicures while Mason and Elizabeth were napping. They were taking a moment to watch what was happening at the beach. Evelyn had arrived an hour earlier and was currently making sure that everything was being set up exactly how Olivia and Fitz envisioned it.
"This is looking incredible. Oh look they are bringing in the floors!" Charlie pointed out.
"It is looking way better than I could have imagined. I mean obviously there is still much more to be done but so far I love it," Olivia said.
Abby looked over at her friend and saw how emotional she was getting. She knew that she was missing her parents at the moment. It was something that they had discussed before and now it was really hitting Liv that her parents wouldn't be there to witness this moment. Abby grabbed Liv's hand and squeezed it. Liv looked over and smiled at her best friend. She let out a sigh and leaned over to put her head on Abby's shoulder. She closed her eyes and envisioned her parents smiling down at her. She knew they would be happy that she found a man who loved her like no one else did and found a family that loved her as much as her parents did.
"Alright no more tears because the makeup artist and hairstylist is here," Evelyn said as she came into the house from the side door. Right behind her were Mila, Jess and two other people who Olivia had hired for hair and makeup.
"Olivia, you said you wanted to start with Abby and Charlie right?" Evelyn asked.
"Yes! We will start with them and then Katherine and Mira. I'll go last. I want to make sure I breastfeed and pump before having to be sitting in a chair for over an hour," she said.
"Perfect. I'll show them the room where they can set up and Sophia is here. I've got her taking pictures of everything being set up then I'll send her over here to take pictures. She has already gone to the hotel to take pictures of Fitz and the groomsmen. Greg stayed there to take more pictures as they got ready. "
"Okay thank you for the update. You have been doing an amazing job out there."
"Thank you and it's my job to make sure everything goes according to plan," she smiled and then led the makeup artists and hairstylists to the room.
XXXXXX
Fitz couldn't believe this day was here. He couldn't wait to get to the house and see his beautiful bride. It felt as though time had slowed down and every time he looked at his watch, it felt that no time had passed. While Fitz had talked to Olivia earlier this morning, it wasn't the same as actually seeing her, Mason, and Mira. He missed his little family but he knew he would see them soon enough.
"Still moping around?" Stephen asked with a smirk on his face.
"Shut up. Let's see how you are when you get married and have kids," Fitz responded.
Stephen could only laugh because he knew that Fitz was right. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he did miss Abby and missed sleeping next to her last night.
The men had already gone out for lunch and came back to the hotel to find the photographers ready to go. They took a couple of pictures outside then back in their suite. Greg was left with them to take pictures as they got ready. They had about two more hours now until they would be leaving.
"He laughs because he knows he misses Abby," Alex said calling Stephen out.
"All jokes aside. I am really happy for you. You finally found a woman who loves you and loves your little girl. Mellie didn't deserve you nor did she deserve Mira. Thank fuck that bitch is out of your life so you can enjoy this moment with the love of your life. I'm happy to be here to witness this," Stephen said.
"Thanks man. I honestly never thought I would get married again but here we are and I am just ready for us to leave so I can finally get married to the love of my life."
"Okay enough of this mushy stuff. Let's get a drink before we have to get ready," Stephen said jokingly.
They all laughed and joked around some more before they started to get ready to go. They would be taking a couple more pictures here and again at the beach. They would be wearing tuxes with bowties because Olivia liked the bowtie look on Fitz. Fitz and Olivia had also decided against wearing a vest for the tux.
Greg started taking pictures of the men as they got ready and took drinks. He got some solo pictures of Fitz looking outside the window as though he was longing to be with his bride which he was. Before Fitz knew it, it was time to go.
"Alright boys. Let's get this show on the road!" Alex said as they grabbed their bags and made their way out the door.
Meanwhile at the beach house, everyone was putting on their final touches. Olivia was currently sitting in the makeup chair while everyone around her got dressed. She was also breastfeeding Mason and it was such a touching moment that Sophia decided to capture it. It was a moment between mother and son even though there was so much craziness that was surrounding them.
Mira was twirling around in her beautiful lace dress. It was a floor length dress that had a little open back that sort of mirrored Olivia's dress. It had a beautiful ribbon tied around her waist with jewels on it. The little girl loved the dress so much and loved that her dress sort of looked like her mommy's. Liv had decided to keep Mira's hair curly but just added a crown braid to keep her hair out of her face.
Abby was zipping up Charlie's pale pink dress. Their dresses were one shoulder floor length gown with a slit that went up until the knee giving them room to move around the dress. Charlie had chosen to wear her hair in a complex side braid while Abby decided to put her hair in a side bun with two simple curls framing her face.
"Okay Olivia we are finished," Mila said as she touched up the lips. She moved out of the way so she could see the final look. Olivia had decided on a half up half down hairstyle with a braid going across the back and curls for the bottom half. She kept her makeup pretty natural and had decided to go with a pink lip color.
"Wow. You guys did amazing. Thank you so much," she said as she moved Mason to burp him.
"Olivia let me burp him so you can put your dress on," Katherine said.
"Okay thanks. Abby can you help me get into the dress?"
"Yeah let's get help you get this on."
They took the dress off the hanger and carefully put it on. It fit beautifully and you wouldn't be able to tell that she had an eight month old baby.
"Wow mommy! You look like a princess!" Mira said with her eyes widened.
Liv laughed, "thank you sweet pea. So what do you guys think?"
Katherine, Abby, and Charlie all looked at Olivia with tears in their eyes causing Olivia to get emotional as well.
"Okay okay no tears because we just got our makeup done," Charlie said waving her hands in front of her face to try and stop the tears.
"Oh Liv. You look beautiful and my son is an extremely lucky guy."
She smiled, "I'm the lucky one but thank you."
A knock on the door stopped Katherine from responded back.
"Alright. The guys are here and are currently taking some pictures. Guests are still arriving and are being seated. We have another forty-five minutes before we get you down the aisle. Is there anything else that you need from me before I do another round?" Evelyn asked and also handed Olivia an envelope.
"No I don't think so. I'm just anxious to get out there," Liv said.
"Just a couple more minutes. Alison, my assistant, is going to be outside the door in case you do need anything."
"Okay thank you."
"I think it's also time to change Mason into his little tux," Abby commented.
"Yes we do! It should be over there with his diaper bag," Liv pointed out.
Katherine quickly changed Mason out of his dirty diaper then put on the custom tux that she had ordered for this occasion.
"Olivia now that Mason is changed can we get you, Mira and Mason together for a picture?" Sophia asked.
"Of course. Where do you want us?"
"Let's have you sit down in the chair with Mason on your lap and Mira standing next to you. We'll set the chair next to the open window. The sun is shining beautifully right now so let's get this moment quickly."
Olivia took Mason from Katherine. Her baby boy looked adorable in his tux. His beautiful brown eyes looked back at her and he gave her a big smile. His curls were combed away from his face although they were just as unruly as his father's. Mira took her place next to her mommy and gave a big smile to the camera. There was one picture that everyone agreed would be the winner and it was Mira giving Olivia a kiss on her temple while she closed her eyes and Mason pressed to her chest.
Evelyn poked in her head after she knocked, "okay guys. We are ready to go."
Olivia took a deep breath as she watched everyone leave the room. Fitz was adamant of being the one to carry Mason down the aisle while he walked with his mother so Olivia agreed. After Mason will be sitting with Katherine during the ceremony.
"Mommy I'm nervous," Mira said looking at the pink flower petals that she would be dropping.
Olivia bent down to her level and lifted her chin up.
"You have nothing to be nervous about. Just look at daddy and do what we practiced. I love you no matter what," she said and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"I love you too," Mira said back.
"Okay now get going so you can throw the flowers."
Mira smiled and walked out of the room leaving Olivia to gather her thoughts and grabbed her bouquet. This was it, she thought.
"Okay Liv. We're ready for you," Evelyn said.
She nodded and walked out of the room. Evelyn guided Olivia toward the back and into the beach that had been transformed.
Fitz felt that he lost his breath the minute he saw Olivia walking towards him. She looked like an angel in her dress. He couldn't believe that this was going to be his wife. With the sun setting in the background, Olivia felt that Fitz looked better than he ever has. The aisle was filled with roses, some that Mira threw and some that were placed beforehand.
"Hi."
"Hi."
Both of them were lost in each other's eyes and didn't really listen to the minister who was talking. They both felt that this moment was everything they could have ever hoped for.
"Now Olivia and Fitz have decided to write their own vows. Fitz will go first."
Fitz took one deep breath and kissed Olivia's hand before he began.
"When we first met, I wasn't sure what I was feeling. One look at you and the world went dark and I only saw you. You have been the light in a dark tunnel that I didn't even realize that I was in. You not only accepted me as the flawed man that I am but have also accepted my daughter as your own. You're the love of my life. I can't sleep without you. I wait for you. I watch for you. I can't imagine my life without you. You've given me the family I have dreamed about and now have given me the most beautiful baby boy I could ask for. I promise you today in front of our friends and family that I will always love and care for you. That I will always be the one to lift you up, the one who will fight for you no matter what and the one who will love you until the end of time. I can't wait to grow old with you," he said as he tried his best to keep it together.
He wiped away the tear that had fallen from Olivia's eye and kissed her hand once again before slipping the ring on her finger.
"Olivia"
She took a deep breath trying to make sure she keeps it together.
"Fitz, before we met I wasn't sure I believed in love anymore but one look at you and I was a goner. I fell in love with our little girl first but quickly fell in love with you too. As a little girl I always dreamed about finding a love that my parent had. The kind of love that made you whole but at the same time still have you room to grow. You've been someone who has given me everything I have ever wanted and more. Every day I fall more and more in love with you. Now I am promising to you that I will be your biggest cheerleader, that I will be the mother that our children deserve, that I will fight for you every single time and that I will not leave you when times get tough because we both know they will. You're the only man I have ever truly loved. I can't wait to grow old with you either," Olivia said and slipped the ring on his finger. She then looked over to Mira who was sitting next to her Grammy. She called her over to them.
Olivia and Fitz bent down to Mira's height and Liv grabbed the mic in her hands.
"Mirabelle, I promise to you today that I will be the best mom to you. You have been the best daughter I could have asked for. You have given me a love I never knew was possible. You are also the best big sister Mason could ever have. I love you so much and I am blessed to call you my daughter," Olivia said as she placed the heart necklace around her neck which contained pictures of Mason, Fitz, and Olivia.
"I love you too mommy and daddy," Mira said shyly into the mic before giving them a big hug. There wasn't a dry eye in the audience watching this beautiful family become official. After one more hug Mira went back to her seat.
"By the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride!"
Fitz and Olivia shared one last smile before he pulled her into a kiss. They kept it short and simple before they pulled away.
"I introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald Grant III."
Everyone clapped as they walked down the aisle with smiles on their faces. Evelyn had the guests moved to the reception area while the bridal party took pictures. Before then Olivia and Fitz took a moment to themselves close to the water.
"Hello Mrs. Grant."
"Hello Mr. Grant."
"You look absolutely stunning and I can't believe you're my wife."
"And you're my husband."
They shared a smile and kissed passionately.
"Ewww mommy and daddy!" Mira yelled at them.
They pulled away from each other and looked over to where their family was standing with their photographer.
"Let's take a couple of pictures here before going to the reception area."
For the next forty-five minutes, they all took pictures together including family pictures with Mira and Mason. Mason had managed to stay away but he was getting cranky meaning he was ready to get some sleep. They had hired a babysitter who would be staying with Mason and Elizabeth while the party was going on. Katherine had offered to take care of both of her grandbabies but everyone refused her offer. She needed to enjoy the party just like everyone else.
"Okay let's head over to the reception," Fitz told his family.
Fitz and Olivia were held back to take more pictures before they followed the path to the reception.
"Now please welcome for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Grant," the DJ called out. The crowd cheered as the couple made their way to the platform.
"And now time for their first dance."
You say you'll be down in five
The smell of your perfume
Is floating down the stairs
You're fixing up your hair like you do
I know that I'll be a mess
The second that I see you
You won't be surprised
It happens every time
It's nothing new
Olivia smiled with tears in her eyes as she heard the song begin. Fitz wanted the song to be a surprise so she had no idea he picked her favorite song. A song that Olivia felt fit them perfectly.
"So how did I do?" he asked as they swayed to the music.
"Better than I could've imagined," she said giving him a peck on the lips.
I'm speechless
Staring at you, standing there in that dress
What it's doing to me, ain't a secret
'Cause watching you is all that I can do
And I'm speechless
You already know that you're my weakness
After all this time I'm just as nervous
Every time you walk into the room
I'm speechless
"Have I told you that you look incredible tonight?"
"Maybe once or twice."
"Well you deserve to hear it another hundred times because you do. I'm a lucky man to call you my wife."
"And I'm a lucky woman to call you my husband."
It's always on a night like tonight
I thank God you can read my mind
'Cause when you look at me with those eyes
I'm speechless
You're standing there in that dress
Girl it ain't a secret
'Cause watching you is all that I can do, oh
I'm speechless
You already know that you're my weakness
After all this time I'm just as nervous
Every time you walk into the room
I'm speechless
Oh, you know it, baby
Oh oh, mmm
As the last note played, Fitz dipped Olivia and placed a kiss on her lips as everyone clapped around them. Afterwards the couple went around to greet their guests during the dinner. Before they knew it, everyone was out on the dance floor enjoying their time. This was exactly what they wanted for their reception. Olivia and Fitz took turns dancing with Mira who was having the time of her life. She loved spinning around in her dress and showing people the necklace that Olivia had placed around her neck during the ceremony.
Fitz and Katherine had their moment together on the dance floor which was emotional for both of them. She couldn't be happier for her son for finding the right woman for him. It might have taken some time but it was worth the wait. She knew that her husband was looking down at them and is proud of their son for everything he has accomplished in his life.
"Oh I'm so happy for you Fitz. I always prayed you would find someone like Olivia. To find someone who will give you the love and support you deserved and now you have. While I will always worry about you because I'm your mother, it makes me sleep better at night knowing that you have her in your life," Katherine said starting to cry as they danced.
Fitz gave him mom a kiss on the forehead then said, "Thank you mom. All I have ever wanted to do was make you and dad proud. You've been the example I follow as a parent and I couldn't have asked for a better mom. Thank you for loving Olivia as much as you do."
By the time they finished their dance there wasn't a dry eye in the room. The magic between mother and son was beautiful to witness and Olivia could only hope that she would have that same relationship with Mason as he grew older.
It was time for the cake and Olivia made Fitz promise that he wouldn't smash the cake to her face or else he would be sleeping on the couch tonight. He laughed when she first told him but the look on her face said everything he needed to know so he decided to listen to her warning and avoided smearing her face with any cake.
Soon after all the pictures were taken, everyone was back on the dance floor where they danced the night away. The bouquet and garter were tossed and were caught by Quinn and Huck who had been dancing together during the evening. Olivia smiled when she saw the duo and knew they wouldn't be leaving alone tonight.
"Hello, my wife," Fitz said.
"Hello, my husband," she said back.
"Seems like someone is all partied out," Fitz commented looking down at Mira who was in Olivia's arms fast asleep.
She laughed, "yeah it seems like she truly danced the night away. Your mom is going to take her to the beach house right now."
"No house…I want sparklers," Mira mumbled as she slowly woke up.
Fitz and Olivia laughed. The sparklers would be used as they left which would be happening soon. Mira knew all about it and even though she was tired, she still wanted to be a part of it.
"Okay but then you'll go to bed," Fitz said firmly.
"Okay daddy," Mira rubbed the sleep from her eyes and looked for her grandma who was passing out the sparklers. She spotted her and jumped from Olivia's lap to grab one.
"Ready to go?" Fitz asked putting his hand out for Olivia.
"Never been more ready for anything in my life," she said grabbing hold of his arms. They would be heading out to a hotel for the weekend while Katherine watched the kids. They would be making a quick stop at the beach house to check in on Mason.
Everyone had made their way outside with the sparklers making a beautifully lit pathway for the newlyweds to walk back to the house. Everyone cheered as they made their way through, saying thank you to those who shared this day with them. At the end of the pathway, they shared one more kiss.
The two of them continued the walk to the house and quietly entered. Katherine was right behind them with Mira in her arms. Fitz helped his mother and grabbed Mira to take her upstairs to her room. Olivia followed him and went into the newly made nursery where Mason was sound asleep. The babysitter was in the guest room next door and would be staying there until the morning.
"Oh my sweet baby boy," she whispered and placed a kiss on his forehead as Fitz walked in to say his goodnights. The two of them grabbed their bags from their bedroom and walked downstairs to say goodbye to Katherine.
"So Fitz are you finally going to tell me where we are going for our honeymoon?" Olivia asked as she buckled her seatbelt.
"I guess since it is our wedding night, I can finally tell you. This summer it's going to me and you on a beach in Turks and Caicos," he said with a smile on his face. It was one of the places that Olivia had put on a list of places where she hoped to visit.
"Oh my god Fitz! I can't believe it! Best wedding present ever," she said pulling him into a kiss.
"Let's go before I take you right now," he said moaning into their kiss.
"I love you Mr. Grant. Forever and always."
"Forever and always Mrs. Grant."
