This story is about how Luz met Amity, but not the same as the show.
No one's POV
"STOP, PLEASE! DAD, IT HURTS, PLEASE STOP!" screamed Amity as she was kicked, punched, and punished for no reason. Her past and present were written all over her body as scars or bruises. She never went to school in her entire life, and she was turning 15 in half a month. No one was ever there to help her. No one bothered with her life.
Ever since her mother, sister, and brother, who were twins, were murdered right before her eyes when she was six, her father has never been the same. Where he slept on a bed with a pillow with a thick blanket and a warm room to keep him alive during the cold weather, she slept in a freezing room and only had a thin blanket to keep her warm and a pet owl that her siblings got for her a day before they were killed she named him 'Owlbert'.
After a while, her father stopped and shouted at her.
"SHUT UP YOU USELESS CHILD, WHY COULDN'T YOU BEEN THE ONE THAT WAS KILLED INSTEAD! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT BEFORE I PUNCH YOU AGAIN!"
As she got up and left the room, she spat a bit of blood into her mouth but she swallowed it back in as she could taste the iron taste in her mouth.
Her father was the CEO of Blight's Corporation one of the biggest companies in the world and he was also one of the richest men in the world. But Amity was as skinny as bones and anyone could see her rib cages if she wasn't wearing her green sweater that once belongs to her sister. When she walked into her room Owlbert flew over to her and gently rub his feathers on her cheek as he landed on her shoulder.
"Thank you Owlbert but I'm fine. I got used to his words and the pain, his right though I should have been the one who died not mum or Emira or Edric, but me. I truly am useless..."
She said as she made sure that Albert was full of water and the bird food before sitting down against a wall she took her blanket and covered herself. She began to fall asleep.
In the living room
Her father sat in the living room on one of their sofas as he had a beer bottle in his hand and thought 'How do I get rid of that useless piece of trash. Should I send her to school but that would mean I have to buy her new things and a phone to keep track of where she is in case she tries to tell the cops. Guess I'll send her to school then.' was his last thought before he headed to his room and went to bed.
The next morning at 5 am,
"BEEP! BEEP!"
Went the alarm in Amity's room as she jolts awake from the ringing of her alarm she quickly changes into a pair of shorts and wore an old shirt and rushed off to the kitchen to begin making breakfast for her father. When she heard footsteps coming from her father's room she quickly left the food on the dining table and covered it to make sure it stays hot and went back to her room without being seen.
While she was cooking she could smell the food she was preparing and her stomach growled loudly and yet she dare not cook anything for herself, only when her father permitted her to eat, only then she will eat a piece of bread.
When she heard the footstep slowly leave the dining room, she walks out of her so-called room and went to clear the table. She saw a letter on the table addressed to trash. She opened the letter and read that she was being sent to school with her little reading skills, she jumped with joy as she finishes reading the letter and quickly washes the dishes and head back to her room as her father left the house to head to work.
After her father left she slowly got to her chores. After she was done she headed for her room to feed Owlbert on the way she walked past her siblings' room and stood in front of the door for a while but wondering if she should peek into the room, just a peek would do and decided that it wouldn't hurt to peek to see the room. She slowly turn the door handle and walked into the room, she could see how dirty the room was, how dusty and dark but she saw the twins' bed still in good condition but she knew if she lay down, she would get in trouble. As she turns to leave the room she saw that the twins' table had a notebook with a post-it note on it that said.
"To our little sister HAPPY BELATED SIXTH BIRTHDAY!"
Signed in both Emira and Edric in pretty cursive handwriting. She felt the tears start to escape her eyes as she held the notebook in her chest, when she was done she place the notebook back where it was and left to feed Owlbert.
After all her chores she stayed in her room and watched Owlbert eat his lunch, she felt her stomach growl from watching Owlbert eat, even without saying anything Owlbert knew she was hungry but Owlbert couldn't do anything for he was just an Owl. He saw Amity take out a letter and look at it, he hooted and flew over to her and rested himself upon her shoulder.
Amity read the letter a few more times and in her mind, she was excited about tomorrow as it was her first day of school. However, she awoke from her daydreaming as she heard a loud boom from outside the house and she quickly runs out of her room to find the sky filled with dark clouds and lighting. She quickly sets out to close all the windows in the house and began to bring the clothes that were washed and left to hang outside the house; after everything was done she walked back into her room and sat on the floor and began to doze off but beforehand she had prayed to have someone to save her from her miserable, useless life and to make some friends.
In Luz's Home
"Hija, ya son las seis de la mañana despierta o vas a llegar tarde a la escuela!" shouted Luz's mother from the kitchen.
As Luz's mother turn around to find her wife Eda sleepily walking down the stairs towards the kitchen with Luz right behind her and all she could think of was 'de tal madre tal hija' and began to prepare their lunch boxes.
Once her two girls were done eating she took their plates and washed and gave each sleepy girl a kiss as well as their dog, king, which was husky and said goodbye as she headed off to work. When Luz heard the door behind her mother close she headed back to her room with her mother Eda right behind her to prepare for work and school. When both girls finish, they quickly close the window just in case it did rain and both headed for the car so that Eda could send Luz to school which just so happens to be where she worked.
When they got there, Eda said to Luz.
"Alright, we're here go and have fun kiddo, don't go creating any trouble in school."
"Gracias mamá, nos vemos después de la escuela y no me meteré en problemas."
Luz replied after hugging her mum and rushing off to find Gus and Willow waiting for her in front of her locker.
She gave them both a hug and the trio walked towards their classes while talking and laughing. Suddenly Gus lets out a sound.
"ARGH!"
"What's wrong Gus?" asked Willow.
"While it's so boring in school, I wish someone would just turn up and make our lives more interesting." told Gus.
"And for someone to make Luz fall in love with." added Willow.
"Wait, what! Why me?" questioned Luz.
"While for one thing, you haven't dated anyone for your entire high school life and another thing is don't you wish for someone to entertain us for a bit?" replied Gus.
"That's true, and life in school has been a bit boring but we still got one another, right?"
Replied Luz but just as Willow was going to reply, the first-period bell for the day went off and everyone in the hallway all went in a different direction as they headed for class. The trio all rush for their first class with Miss Lilith for math.
During lunch break
"Hey Willow, here comes your girlfriend," said Gus as he sat down at their usual table that was outside the cafeteria; Willow looks at Gus after she checks her surrounding but couldn't see her girlfriend Boscha anywhere so she said.
"Why would you lie to-"
But she was interrupted by a pair of hands that were covering her eyes and a voice that said,
"Guess who?"
"Boscha, what are you doing baby?"
Replied Willow.
"How did you know it was me?"
Asked Boscha as she sat between Luz and Willow and she hooked her arm over Willow's shoulder.
"Why wouldn't she know it was you, you know she is all you talk about so, of course, she would know it was you."
Asked Luz as she took a bite out of her peanut butter and jam sandwich.
"Aww, tell me how much do you talk about me, baby?"
Questioned Boscha as Willow hides her face in her hands and her ears turned as red as a tomato. Willow pushes her hand into her girlfriend as she laughs at WIllow's reaction. Luz gave Boscha a fist bump after Boscha stopped teasing Willow.
"So you guys want to come over to my place after school to play video games?"
Asked Luz since after lunch all they had was a homeroom with Miss Eda and they all lived near each other so it could be on the way.
"Sure, sounds like fun as long as my baby agrees to go as well."
Said Boscha and took a sip of her cola and she looks at Willow for a reaction.
"Sounds like fun I'm in," said Willow and they all looked at Gus for his reply, and Gus agreed as well and they all headed for homeroom.
After homeroom as Luz and her friends waited for Eda to clean up her things, the principal walked into the classroom asking to speak to Eda for a second and she agreed so she closed the door and they both talked so Boscha asked.
"What do you think they are talking about?"
"I'm not sure," said Luz as she put her ear on the door to hear what they were talking about. But Luz only caught pieces of what the principal said and it was student, make her, and that's all. When the door opened Luz quickly got up and waited for Eda to bring them to her home to play.
When they all got home dark clouds were covering their heads and they quickly all rush into the house to prevent getting wet from the coming rain. When they made it Eda quickly went to close all the windows and turned on the air-conditioner to make the room cooling and comfy. Then Luz and Gus went to get some snacks from the kitchen as Willow and Boscha got the Nintendo Switch set up on the television. Once everything was ready they all sat on either the couch or the floor and they all grabbed a controller and started playing.
Back at Amity's house at 6.30 pm,
Amity was in the kitchen making dinner when she heard a car pull into the garage, and she quickly finishes up with the food and began to rush back to her room to avoid another beating that day, but she didn't make it in time when she heard her father shout.
"STOP RIGHT THERE TRASH!"
As he walked toward her, she feared for her life as her father walked towards her. She looked up at her father as he stood in front of her, and even though Amity was 14 coming 15 she was the size of a chihuahua in front of a lion as she stood in front of her father as her father was tall and fierce-looking. He said, "Have you finish all your chores for the day?" Amity nodded her head measly but her father shouted in a booming voice.
"ANSWER ME YOU USELESS PIECE OF CRAP"
Punching her right in her stomach and from the force of the punch fell backwards and she quickly replied.
"Y-yes sir, sorry sir, I finish all my chores for today."
Her stomach hurt and she wanted to cry out, her father grabbed her by the hair and threw her against the wall and said.
"Good, now go and clean Emira and Edric's room, afterwards, wait for me in the torture room."
"Yes sir."
As Amity replied she quickly rush off to do as told. Along the way, she pulled her shirt up to see a bruise forming on her stomach and she could still feel the pain from being grabbed by the hair. When she got to her siblings' room she opens the door slowly and quickly started cleaning the tables and windows and got rid of the dust and even change their bedsheet cover she took the old bed sheet cover and took them to wash as she removes the books that covered the places that needed dusting. After everything in the room was cleaned she quickly headed to the torture room to find her father holding a whip in his hands. (Well you can imagine the rest)
Once he was done torturing her the wounds and bruises littered all over Amity's body and she was crying but she didn't let out a sound. The weapons that her father used were all covered in her blood. Her father dropped the whip and walked out of the room leaving an injured Amity inside the room. Amity watches her father walk out of the room and in her heart she still prayed to see the same man she loved.
But she still feared her father even if she was wishing for her father to return to her. She looked at the small knife on the table and thought about what her father said to her, she got up and grabbed the knife and began cutting her wrists, as she watches her blood drip from the several wounds on her right arm she switches to her left and did the same. All she could think of was 'Everything in the world was perfect no one hated her, her father still cared for her and just for a few minutes she was a normal 15-year-old with a perfect family. When she finally snapped out of her daze, she headed to the toilet and begin to wash her wounds. After washing her wounds she presses a towel to her wounds to stop the bleeding, she starts cleaning up and places plaster over her wounds as she headed back to her 'room' to sleep.
The next morning,
Amity woke up at 5 am as usual but today she was excited for today she was going to school and quickly got her father's breakfast ready as she changes into a pair of jeans and a pink shirt along with her green sweater. She decided to give Owlbert extra food since she might not be home by lunchtime. Owlbert was still sleeping when Amity left.
Her father ate his breakfast while Amity waited for him at the front door, as her father still had some paper to fill in at the school. Once he was done he drag Amity by the hair into the car and drove off towards the school.
At school,
At the gate, when the car came to a stop, there stood principal Bump waiting for Amity and her father and four other students hiding out of sight behind a tree eavesdropping on their conversation. As principal Bump led them to his office, he called for Luz to go to the principal office.
When Luz knocked on the door and was given permission to enter, Amity stared down at the ground waiting for permission to do anything. Once her father left for work, principal Bump said.
"Ahem, Amity, this is Luz Noceda and, Luz this is Amity. Now, Luz, you are to give her a tour of the school. Do not cause any trouble, do you understand?"
"Yes, Principal Bump" replied Luz, and they left the principal's office after Amity received her timetable and everything was the same as Luz which was lucky for her.
"So… urm Amity right?" asked Luz, Amity raised her head and gave Luz a small smile and replied, "yeah that's me."
"Anyways, since we got off an awkward start let me just reintroduce myself, I am Luz Noceda and my mom Miss Eda is our homeroom teacher and my aunt is Miss Lilith who is our math teacher, and I've got three best friends and you will be glad to meet them later on, anyway enough about me what about you?" said Luz.
Amity looked at Luz and smiled and said softly, "Well I'm Amity, just Amity and urm this is the first school that I've been to my entire life, and I'm very nervous."
"Wait, did you just this is your first school, what have you been doing your whole life?" asked Luz in surprise.
"Urm you see my dad travels from one place to another from 3 to 4 weeks so there was no point in sending me to school so I never really been to school but he tells me that we won't be moving for a few years so he didn't mind allowing me to go to school" replied Amity as she gave Luz a small smile.
Luz returned Amity a smile and asked, "Well did you have any friends even though you were always moving?"
Amity shook her head so Luz immediately said "Well then I'll be your first friend and introduce you to my friends now come on, we are going to be late for homeroom."
As she grabs Amity, Luz pulls her towards the classroom even though she feels Amity slightly flinching but she erases it from her mind and leads Amity towards the class.
Amity's POV
I watched as the girl called Luz walked into the principal's office and talked to the principal even as he introduced me to the girl. I didn't say a thing afraid I would say something wrong and make the girl mad. After we left the office she spoke up.
"So… urm Amity right?"
I felt surprised that anyone would talk to me so I raised and gave her a fake smile and said "Yeah that's me."
So that's how the conversation went but what surprised me the most was when she said "Well then I'll be your first friend and introduce you to my friends…"
After I replied to her first question and I couldn't hear anything else till I felt someone grab my hand and flinched.
I thought she was going to hit me as my father did, however, she just led me to our class. When we reached the class she stood there and asked if I was ready for my self-introduction. I just nodded my head and steadied myself as she knocked on the door. We stood outside waiting for permission to enter and when we did Luz used so much to open it that when it hit the stopper there was a loud BANG that became as stiff as rock for a second before I quickly returned to my previous state of a bundle of nervousness.
When we walked in Luz went to her seat and the teacher who was Luz's mum if I remember correctly her name was Miss Eda. I walked towards her looking up with a small smile on my face and waited for her to allow me to introduce myself. So when she said "Class" and everyone quieted down within seconds, she continued.
"This is Amity and she is going to be our new classmate starting today so let's all give her a warm welcome."
Everyone clapped so I said.
"Hi, I'm Amity I hope we can all get along. It's my first time coming to school so I hope to get along with everyone."
Everyone clapped once I was done and Miss Eda looked around the classroom and pointed towards the seat between the window and Luz.
"You can sit beside my kid for now."
I walked there slowly with my things in hand and a smile that only I knew was fake.
When I sat down Miss Eda said to the class.
"So class you all know what day it is so remember to keep your pencil case on the table just in case Bump walks by or any other teacher and school rules still apply okay that's all from me."
When she was done students went around mixing with their friends and those who didn't mix stayed in their seats doing their own thing.
I watch as everyone went about in the class and just when I was about to reach into my bag to take out the notebook that was supposed to be left on my siblings' table so that I could stay alone Luz with 3 other people sitting around my table and I watch as the girl with the third eye wrap her arm around another girl who looked like an old acquaintance of mine and a short boy wearing a blue jacket sit between the girl with the third eye and Luz. Once they were done Luz turned to me and introduced them.
"This clinger over here hugging her girlfriend, Willow, is Boscha and the girl is as I said is Willow and this cute little man here is Gus and as you know me I'm Luz."
I looked at her and timidly reintroduced myself and after a while, the bell went off and it was lunchtime since my father took a while in the principal office when complete the paperwork, so it was already 10:15 am when he was done.
Everyone got up and headed out and I as I was leaving Miss Eda said.
"Amity come here for a second."
When I move towards her I thought I was in trouble so I felt a bit nervous but the way she looked at me felt like how my mother used to look at me with care in her eyes. She told me as she called Luz and her friends to see her as well.
"This group of friends will always be there to help you in times of need even me and especially this little rascal of a daughter of mine."
She said as she messed up Luz's hair and her friends laughed. I thanked Miss Eda and before I could go Luz asked me.
"Hey Amity you wanna have lunch with us?"
She looked at me with cute puppy eyes and I didn't want her to get mad at me so I just agreed and followed them to the cafeteria.
Luz's POV
I introduced Boscha, Willow, and Gus to Amity as we all sat around during free time but I realized something she was very nervous around us and when it was lunchtime she was ready to rush off somewhere but she didn't know school that well. So as we headed to the cafeteria Amity looked a little nervous as we got closer to the cafeteria and I immediately thought she was nervous because it was her first time in a loud and crowded place. So I lightly nudged her and whispered.
"Hey it's okay it's just a bit of noise you will get used to immediately."
She smiled and followed us as we collected our food but I saw that she didn't want to buy or collect her food so I asked her, "You not eating?"
"Oh urm no I'm not feeling hungry right now, I had a big breakfast before coming."
She smiled as she told me. I got the feeling she was lying to me but I didn't trust them. When all of us got our food we headed to our usual table outside the school near the cafeteria and all sat around the table. I could smell the cheese from the pizza that I bought my saliva dripping from my mouth as we began eating. I saw Amity taking out a notebook and a pencil and beginning drawing in her book. An artist I like that. As Gus took a bite out of his peanut butter and jam sandwich and Willow ate her homemade lunch with Boscha still clinging to her like she was a soft toy while sipping her drink.
While we talked after we had finished our food Amity was sketching in her notebook with a simple pencil.
Suddenly I realize everyone was staring at me, Boscha had a smirk while Gus was smiling away like a child and Willow just looks at me with a look that told me what they were all thinking which was I ship it I shook my head denying their idea and look at Amity she was so cute as just stared at her notebook drawing.
After a while, lunch break ended and we all headed back for class. Amity had history lessons with me so I decided to lead the way in class. During class, Amity's eyes sparkled at everything the teacher said while I simply yawned but watching her was so much fun. She was adorable by the way she acts and looks.
When school ended I asked Amity if she wanted to come over to my place to hang out with Gus, Willow, and Boscha but she turned me down saying she had to head home early so that her father wouldn't have to worry about her and she gave me a small smile and said goodbye.
I was really hoping she would come. Even so, I told her to see you tomorrow. She murmured something before she turned and left.
Amity's POV
When I walked away from Luz after she told me to see you tomorrow, I had thought 'If I'm even alive' but apparently I had said it out loud because she asked me to repeat what I said but I quickly turned away and walked home. As I headed home, I checked my watch. It was a second-hand one that once belonged to Emira I realized that if I wasn't home in 10 minutes my father was going to punish me. He set a time limit for me because of the information on the internet.
I quickly ran home despite the hunger in my stomach. The last time he fed me was 2 days ago for breakfast. After a while of running, I came to a stop at the house's front door. I gave a few knocks not knowing whether he was home or not. After a while, the door didn't open thus letting me conclude he was still at work. I took out my own key and quickly unlocked the door and let myself in and rushed to my "room" to place my bag down and get on with my chores. After cleaning the entire house I went to prepare dinner for my father.
After I finish cooking I quickly run to my room when I heard the clanging of metal on metal as the door unlock. I watched my father place his bag down and sat at the table and began eating the food. Once he finished his food and headed toward his room I rushed to clean up the dishes and once more I felt my stomach growl out loud. During lunch when I watched the group of friends swallow their food it made me even hungrier. Even so, there would be no point in complaining to myself. Once I was done, I heard my father
"TRASH! GET YOUR ASS TO THE TORTURE ROOM!"
'Again? but he just did it yesterday.' Instead of saying anything I measly walked into the room. He stood with a whip in hand.
I flinch at my spot when he moved his hand and struck the floor with the whip. I had fear in my eyes but he didn't care. He began to torture me. After he was done he took out a cigarette and began smoking. My body ached from the endless torture, when he was almost done with the cigarette he walked towards me and smiled at me but it was scary at the way he looked at me. I didn't know what he was going to do and before I could react he pressed the cigarette bud onto my skin. As the heat burnt my flesh I resist to screamed but I couldn't stop the flow of my tears.
Once he was done he let go of the bud and walked out of the room. I let out a silent scream as I cried my eyes out. 'SOMEONE! ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE!' I screamed in my mind. But it was only a wish, one that will never come true no matter how much I beg. I grabbed the knife near me and began making cuts on my skin. After a while, I got up and headed for the shower. Even under the water, the burnt mark still hurt, at least it was on an area that was hidden beneath my clothes.
It was another addition to my scars, will my scars ever stop growing? Once I finished showering, I went back to my room and lay on my blanket, I stared at the ceiling and felt the tears flow from my eyes once more. The image of Luz suddenly popped into my head and I blushed. I knew what the feeling bubbling in me was, I knew, and yet I refuse to admit the truth. All I knew was she might not even like girls. I closed my eyes and let the darkness take over me as I pulled the thin blanket over my body.
I had a dream, one, that showed the past but it was more of a memory than a dream. It was Edric, Emira, and me playing together. Before they were killed with our mother calling for us. But soon they began to run ahead of me, as much as I called out to them they didn't slow down they just ran faster. After a while I was just left alone in the darkness I sat there until I saw my father walking towards me but instead of giving me a hand he yelled and the words were repeated to me. Slowly my eyes opened and realized that it was morning and I had to prepare breakfast for my father so I just wore my usual attire and left the room and began the day of torture.
When I got down I saw my father sitting at the table with his coffee prepared and he looks up at me, I felt his glare it was intimidating.
"Good morning, Sir," I said as he places his newspaper down.
When I got to the bottom of the stairs I stood there as he walked over to me.
He asked, "Why was my breakfast not prepared when I got down?"
I look at him with no answer as he continued.
"I ask you a question you stupid dyke! You are not allowed to eat from today to three days later and if you dare I'll increase the time even more. Is that understood you useless piece of dyke?!"
I nodded my head again I was not allowed to eat. It's been at least 2 to 3 days since I last ate. Other than giving me water he hardly gave me food.
I quickly grabbed my bag and headed out as he went to sit back down to finish his food. My eyes dull upon the grumbling of my stomach.
As I walked to school I saw parents holding their children's hands and smiling, I felt the jealousy churn in my stomach yet I just looked down at the ground and headed to school.
"Mummy, what did you make for lunch?"
I heard a kid ask his mother, I lifted my head and watch as the mother replied.
"Your favorite fried egg with sausage and rice."
"YAY" the kid screamed and walked into school. I couldn't remember the last time I ate a fried egg or even taste a sausage or even ate a bit of rice.
Thinking about food made my stomach hurt and made me slightly dizzy from the realization. As I walked into the school, I headed for my classroom to find it empty so I just sat down in a seat. After a while, Luz and Miss Eda walked in.
Luz's POV
I was surprised to see Amity already in class. Never has there ever been a student who was earlier than me and mum. She had her head in her hands and she was lying down on the table, she looked like she was in pain. She was also sweating heavily under her green sweater. I walked up to her and lightly tap her to wake her up as classes were starting soon. As her eyes flutter open my own heart skipped a beat.
"Hmm, oh Luz, Miss Eda good morning," she said as she slowly woke up she gave me a small smile.
I returned it with my own reply.
"Good morning to you too, Amity. You looked pretty comfortable there."
I said and she grew a little red.
"I-I just didn't get enough sleep last night."
She replied with her ears turning bright red. I let out a little giggle and reach out to her ears and gently rubbed them to let Amity calm down.
Amity had flinched before my hand made contact with her ear, but she calm down when my hand made contact. She didn't look like she enjoyed physical touch but she didn't say anything either. She looks away but something about her was telling me something. What was it, suddenly I realized there was a blood spot on her hoodie, and there was a bruise on her neck.
Amity notices what I was looking at but she could only cover the blood spot, right before I could ask her what happened the bell rang. Amity simply move to her seat and sat down. The whole day I continued to follow her to make sure she wasn't getting bullied but nothing happened, everyone seemed to love Amity being in school. Finally, the lunch bell rang, I grabbed Amity's hand and brought her to the bathroom to speak, but instead, the moment I locked the door and turn around Amity was cowering against the wall. I noticed more than I had in the morning, she had cuts on her wrists.
The hood of her hoodie had a ton of blood spots on the inside which wasn't visible from the outside, I could see how thin she truly was and what took me back the most was the fact her eyes were showing fear towards me.
"Amity, tell me, who did this to you?"
"What are you talking about, Luz, did what?"
"Don't lie to me. Tell me, Amity. Who?"
"I can't tell, stop asking me, I really can't tell. Come on, you must be hungry, right? It must your imagination since you have yet to eat yet."
"No, tell me first or else you're not even going to go home tonight."
"I'm sorry Luz, but there really is nothing happening." Amity smiles at me and slowly walks towards the door to leave.
I sighed and followed her to the cafeteria, I saw her eye the canteen food but she didn't make a move to queue up to buy the food, let alone a drink. I turn to her and saw her eyeing the smallest apple they were selling, I couldn't understand why she wouldn't just line up.
"Amity, don't you want to buy some food?"
"Huh? Urm...No, I already had big meal at home."
"Not even a drink?"
"Nope, I've got my bottle with me."
"Alright then, think you could wait at the table where we sat yesterday?"
"Yeah sure, come quickly."
I nodded my head and turn towards the line. I opened my wallet and check if I had enough money to buy two drinks for two, and once I was sure I had enough, I bought my food and bought one packet of white milk and one packet of chocolate milk. Once I paid for the food and drinks, I went to the usual table to find Amity's head on the table and taking a nap. I smiled and place my food down on the table and took my own seat.
She was so cute, while she was sleeping, I pat her head and took a bite out of my pizza.
"Hey LUZ!" Gus shouted out.
I immediately turn and shush him, with my finger on my lips and Willow, Boscha and Gus realize that Amity was sleeping and they all slap the hand that wasn't holding anything onto their mouth. Willow had stars in her eyes as she watches Amity sleep.
W: "Oh! She is so adorable, like a baby."
Willow said in a whispering voice. I slowly and gently lifted her head onto my lap and she snuggles into the warmth of my body. As the others begin to take their seat, Amity continued to sleep as peacefully as possible, well before the moment I tried to get a better look at the wound on her neck and accidentally pressed into the bruise. She yelps awake and fell off the bench.
"It's okay Amity, It's okay."
"W-Was I sleeping on you?"
"I moved your head onto my lap to let you feel more comfortable. It's no big deal, you didn't bother me."
"Right, I hate to be a bother to someone else..." She whispered.
"A bother to who?" Willow asked.
"What?! I don't know what you are talking about."
She was beginning to look a little panicked and I immediately stepped in.
"Hey, Amity why don't you drink the milk I bought you."
"Eh?"
She looked confused, but her face was adorable, I wanted to pinch it. I picked up the chocolate milk and place them in her hands and motioned for her to drink. She looks at me as though there was poison in the milk.
"What this?"
I drop my own milk when I heard her ask that question, she wasn't asking where I got it for rather, she was asking what exactly it was.
"It's milk."
"Milk?"
"Have you never drank milk before?"
"Well not the one I have in hand."
"Anyway you can drink it."
"Maybe later, right now I'm just a little exhausted."
"Then sleep."
"Will you wake me up before class?"
"Sure. But can you tell us why you yelped in pain just now?"
"N-no reason..."
"Amity, don't lie to us."
"I-I'm being serious..."
She turns away and fiddles with her jacket's cuff. What a terrible liar she was. I sighed and nodded my head as though taking the answer. I turn my head to the others and I could tell what they were thinking.
Amity place her head down once more and she was easily swept off to dreamland. I gently pat her head and brought her head onto my lap once more. I gently pulled her jacket sleeve up and saw the multiple cuts on her wrists. I held her bone-like fingers and I saw a large bruise on her neck. Soon, the bell rang and I gently shook Amity.
"Ames, time to wake up, c'mon, we have classes to get to."
"I'm up."
She rubs her eyes with her jacket's cuff. She quickly got up, grab the milk and followed me to class. She had her head down, she always did. Once we reach the class, we quickly took our seats and I simply watch Amity learn with excitement.
School end
Amity was quick to rush out of the class, she didn't even give me a chance to call out to her. I ran after her as fast as I could, and lucky for me the small girl had really short legs, and with my stamina, catching up to her was easy.
I followed her all the way to her house and she stood outside the door before she looks around and knock on the door. About 2 minutes later the door opened, and standing at the door was Alador Blight, one of the biggest companies CEO. To think Amity was his daughter.
A: "Get in."
Amity slowly walked in like a puppy who was frightened and had its tail in between its legs. Suddenly, I heard a crash, I ran and hid under a window where I saw wooden boards nailed onto the window.
"SORRY! SORRY!"
I heard Amity shout, did she accidentally break something? I tried to get a closer look but it was impossible. Suddenly the front door opens and I see Alaor Blight leave with a suitcase in hand and Amity in tow held by her hair.
A: "Leave, I won't be back until next month."
"W-what about food?"
A: "Handle it on your own."
"I can eat?"
A: "Once every week."
Suddenly an owl came flying out of the house and landed behind me. Amity quickly nods her head, but before she got to the house, Alador Blight walks up to the door and locks it.
A: "Didn't I tell you to leave?"
"A-at once."
Amity replied and she ran away, the owl followed her. Alador then turn and got into the car and drove away, I quickly went to look for Amity and I found her digging through a nearby trashcan.
"Amity? Hey! What are you doing?"
I asked casually. But on the inside, I was really worried.
"I-I'm...nothing. I'm doing nothing."
"Hey, you wanna come my house for a sleepover?"
"Really?"
"Yeah sure why not?"
I said as she looks at me with sparkling eyes. I pulled out my phone and gave a quick call to my mother.
"Oye mamá, ¿pueden mis amigos tener una fiesta de pijamas?"
I ask when she picks up the phone. She gives an okay answer and we ended the conversation.
"Come on, let's go."
Amity nods her head and follows me.
*Hija, ya son las seis de la mañana despierta o vas a llegar tarde a la escuela!=daughter, it's already six in the morning wake up or you are going to be late for school!
