Rich Moves Out Part 2

Scene: Kitchen

Rich finds Dana in the kitchen

Rich: Dana we need to talk.

Dana: Is everything ok babe? What happened with JT?

Rich: We talked. Everything isn't fixed. So I made a decision.

Dana gets up and goes by where Rich is standing. He takes her hand.

Rich: Babe, this decision has nothing to do with us. I have decided to move back in with my Mom.

Dana: what? Why?

Rich: well, still have to figure stuff out with JT. I just don't think I can live with him anymore after what happened. I have already packed up my car.

Dana: I don't want you to move out.

Rich: I won't be that far. Just won't be here as often.

Dana: I am going to miss you

Rich:I will miss you to.

They kiss for a few minutes.

Dana: When are you leaving?

Rich: how about you come with me to my mom's, help me move back in then we can go to dinner and a movie?

Dana: that sounds like a great idea baby.

They walk out holding hands & head to Rich's mom's

Frank & Carol walk in the kitchen just as JT walks in.

Frank: JT, did you apologe to Dana?

JT: not yet

Frank: you need to fix this

JT: well, I talked to Rich

Frank: How did that go?

JT: not to good, he moved out

Carol: what?

JT: yeah, he said he couldn't live with me anymore after what happened.

Carol: Does Dana know ?

JT: I don't know, last time I saw Rich he was going to talk to her. I haven't seen him since.

Carol: this could be bad.

Frank: JT, next time you see him you need to fix this and talk to Dana.

Scene: Rich's Mom's

Rich and Dana pull up. They start unloading the car, then they head into the house.

Rich: Mom, are you home?

He doesn't receive an answer.

Rich: I guess, she's not home.

Dana: what about your Dad?

Rich: I will tell you about that situation later.

Dana: okay, babe

About an hour and a half later, they finish putting his stuff away.

Rich: Thanks, for helping me baby.

He gives her a kiss.

Dana: No problem. I just wish you weren't moving out.

They kiss again.

Rich: I know. I just don't know what else to do.

He gives her another kiss but this time it lasts a little longer. For the next five minutes they just enjoy being together. But then they hear the front door open. Out of habit, not used to being alone, they reluntantly break apart.

Rich: That must be my mom.

Dana: That's to bad. I was really enjoying our alone time.

Rich: Well, with me moving back here we will have more alone time.

Dana: I still don't like it.

Just as they are about to kiss again, Cheryl walks by Rich's room. She saw his car outside.

Cheryl: Hey, Rich.

Rich: Hi, Mom

Cheryl: What are you doing here?

Rich: I guess I should have told you, I had a disagreement with JT so I am moving back in with you.

Cheryl: Well, at least now I wont be alone. How about I make dinner for the three of us?

Rich: Actually we have plans.

Dana: Babe, let's have dinner with your Mom and then we can still go to the movie. We have plently of time.

Cheryl: I won't take no for an answer. Especially since you promised to bring Dana over to meet me. Plus we need to talk about the situation.

Rich: Fine.

Cheryl leaves them alone. Dana turns and embrances Rich.

Dana: Babe, I get the sense that something else is going on here.

Rich: well, my parents are getting a divorce.

Dana: Babe I am sorry. What happened?

Rich: It's for the better actually. My Dad is a jerk.

Dana gives him a hug.

Later that evening, they are eating dinner and chatting.

Cheryl: So how did you two end up together? You went to the same high school. If I remember correctly, you never liked Rich.

Rich: Mom.

Cheryl: what? Its true. When you met JT, you told me about her.

Dana: ok maybe I didn't like him at first but things changed.

Cheryl: what actually changed?

Rich: fine. I will tell the story.

He tells the story of how they got together.

Cheryl: interesting.

Rich: so what's going on with Dad.

Cheryl: don't change the subject.

Rich: Well, you did say we have to talk about stuff. Did the jerk move out?

Cheryl: Yes.

Rich: Good

Dana: Can I ask what happened?

Rich: Honey, you don't want to know that.

Dana gives him a confused look.

Cheryl: It's ok Rich. Nick moved in with his girlfriend.

Dana: oh

Cheryl: It's ok. The papers have been filed. Divorce should be finalized soon as long as he agrees to the terms. Oh that reminds me. As great as it is to have you back home Rich, eventually the house will be up for sale. It's just to big for just me. Plus I am guessing that you won't be living here that long.

Rich: Not sure how long I will be here but I will help you pack up when it comes the time.

Dana: I can help to.

Rich checks the time.

Rich: Hon, if we want to go see that movie we should get going.

Cheryl: well, it was nice to finally meet you Dana. Let's not wait this long to have dinner again.

Dana: we won't.

They leave for the movie, which they didn't really watch much of. After the movie Rich takes Dana back home. He walks her to the door.

Dana: This is going to be so weird with you not being here. I am going to miss you.

Rich: I know babe. I am going to miss you too.

They kiss goodbye. Then Rich heads home. Dana watches as he drives away, when she can't see his car anymore she goes inside and heads upstairs to her room. Karen and Al are there.

Dana: Hey

Al: well look who is finally home

Dana: what's your issue

Al: nothing

Dana: okay

Karen: so what happened with Rich & JT

Dana: you don't know? Rich moved back in with his mom.

Al: really?

Karen: finally one less person in this house

Dana: thanks Karen.

Al: Yeah, Karen as nice as that will be that wasn't nice. I am sorry Dana. Rich will be back eventually.

Dana: I hope so but I don't think it will be that soon since his parents are getting divorced. He wants to help out his mom right now. It's just going to suck not seeing him as much.

Al: Things will work out

Dana smiles at her.

Dana: I am tired.

Karen: your going to bed with out studying?

Dana starts to get ready for bed.

Dana: haha. I got plently of studying done while I was at the movies with Rich.

Al: you didn't watch any of the movie did you.

Dana: Not really. Couldn't tell you want it was about.

Author's Note: There will be one final chaper to this story which will have JT and Rich talk again but Rich doesn't move back in.
