A year and a half has passed since Chad had gotten arrested. He had been released four months prior on parole for good behavior. He at one point had attempted to contact Nigel, who then afterwards filed for a restraining order. He nor anyone else he is close ever saw Chad again.

Not long after Chad was incarcerated, Nigel began dating Rachel. It has proven to be a healthy relationship. They both spent time with each other and with other people. Nigel had seen his family and friends more, who all loved that Rachel made him happier than they had seen him in years. After over a year of dating, they eventually moved into an apartment together.

Three months into them being at the apartment, it was Super Bowl Sunday. This would be Super Bowl LIII, New England Patriots vs LA Rams.

That morning, Nigel and Rachel woke up in each other's arms.

"Good morning." Nigel says.

"Morning, babe." Rachel kisses Nigel on the nose.

"Excited for the game tonight?" Nigel asks.

"I'm excited, but I'm nervous." Rachel answers.

"Oh please, losing two Super Bowls in a row? We're not the Bills." Nigel quips.

"Need I remind you of the Giants." Rachel says.

"Ugh. Why did you have to say that? You know those games will never not hurt." Nigel groans.

"I was AT that second game. Believe me, I know they hurt." Rachel says.

"True. So what are the bets this year?" Nigel asks.

"Well we all said Pats are gonna win, naturally. Dalia said 31 to 30, Lizzie said 25 to 20, and I said 23 to 17. I'm just waiting on your pick." Rachel says.

"I think the Pats are gonna win, 30 to 20." Nigel answers.

"Okay. And I know you sent the money to the pot, so we're all in." Rachel says, checking her fantasy league on her phone. "Oh and did you pick up that bottle of wine you wanted?"

"Yeah. Cost $130 to buy, but it'll be worth it." Nigel says.

"$130? Are you out of fucking mind?" A surprised Rachel asks.

"Hey, it'll either be a victory wine for after the game if we just add it to the rack." Nigel justifies.

"Well at least you have a back up plan for it." Rachel says. As Nigel tries to get up, he feels Rachel pull him back down. "Don't get up, you're so warm." Rachel protests as she wraps her legs around Nigel's waists and presses her breasts into his face.

"You know me too well." Nigel collapses back onto the bed.

"Enough to know you wouldn't say no to these." Rachel says.

After they sleep for another hour, they eventually take a shower together before they finally get their day started.

"So, what to do until we head over to Lizzie and Dalia's?" Nigel asks.

"Nothing really. Just that I think. Wanna watch something before we head over?" Rachel asks.

"Yeah sure." Nigel says. The two flop onto the couch and scroll through Netflix.

The two of them both receive texts at the same time.

"Aw this is cute. Look at this, Nigel. Harvey and Mushi are getting Ingrid ready for her first Super Bowl." Rachel shows Nigel the picture she was sent of her niece.

"That's adorable." Nigel says before looking back at his phone.

"What'd you get?" Rachel asks.

"Oh my mom and dad arrived in Atlanta with my uncle and Cree." Nigel shows them the text he got from his mom.

"The fact that Cree Lincoln, sorry… Uno, calls her nephew, still doesn't sound right to me." Rachel says.

"Doesn't sound right to me either. But it's not like I'll ever call her my aunt." Nigel adds on.

A few hours later, Nigel and Rachel drove over to Lizzie and Dalia's.

"Hey guys, come in." Dalia lets them in, and she is wearing a Julian Edelman jersey. "Help yourselves to what we have. Crackers, beer, wine, We got pizzas on the way."

"Thanks, Dalia. And I got a wine for us all to have after the game. Only if the Pats win." Nigel puts the bottle on the table. Lizzie then comes into the room to greet them, and she is wearing a Stephen Gilmore jersey.

"Hey guys, you both ready for the game she asks?" She asks.

"You bet we are." Rachel takes off her coat to reveal a Rob Gronkowski jersey. Nigel then reveals that he is wearing a Tom Brady jersey.

"Well let's put in the pre-game." Dalia suggests, causing Rachel and Lizzie to both groan.

"Fuck that. I don't wanna watch Tony Romo talk shit about the Pats." Lizzie says.

"Thank you, Liz. You see, Nigel? Lizzie gets it." Rachel says.

"So I take it Rachel doesn't like Romo either?" Dalia asks.

"You should've seen her watching the game against the Chiefs. I thought she was gonna put her fucking head through the wall. She made her niece cry." Nigel says.

"I believe it. I thought I was gonna have to tranquilize Lizzie." Dalia says.

"Come on, that game was stressful enough without Romo being biased." Rachel says.

Thirty minutes later, the game is going on. It is mostly a defensive, low-scoring game.

"Can they just get a fucking touchdown already. This is just batshit." Nigel says.

In the second quarter, the Patriots get three points after getting a field goal.

"Oh my god, it's about fucking time. Rachel, I think you're gonna have the closest score in the bet." Dalia says.

"I don't wanna win like this. What the fuck even is this game? Second quarter and no touchdown is scored?" Rachel says.

"Hey there's still the rest of this quarter and the second half. Maybe the Belichick can light a fire up under their ass." Nigel says.

By half time, the score remains unchanged as they watch the Halftime Show, which none of them like.

"What the fuck was that shit?!" Lizzie snaps.

"They need more rock groups doing it. Get AC/DC, Metallica, the Chilli Peppers again, enough of this pop shit. I want something that can pump me up, and not a bunch of half famous rando's with Adam Levine." Nigel says.

"And what the fuck was with that Spongebob intro? If they're gonna do a Stephen Hillenburg tribute, at least play the whole fucking song. And why put it in at all? Hillenburg wasn't even part of the NFL." Rachel rants.

"I know, what a shit show. How do you get Gladys Knight to do the National Anthem and THAT'S your halftime show?" Dalia rants.

After they calm down, the third quarter starts up. For most of it, no points are scored until LA gets a field goal and ties the game.

"Goddammit. Can't New England just get ONE fucking touchdown?!" Nigel shouts, getting nervous about how the game is gonna go.

In the fourth quarter, the Patriots do score a touchdown.

"Oh my God, finally!" Lizzie says before signing in relief.

"Still a one score game, hun. Don't count your blessings yet." Dalia says.

Later on in the quarter, another field goal is kicked by the Pats and it is good.

"I think it's safe to say that the Pats win." Rachel quips.

"Ain't over til the fat lady sings, Rach." Nigel says.

Eventually, the game ends with the Patriots winning 13 to 3. Julian Edelman is also named the Super Bowl MVP.

"Holy… fucking… shit." Rachel stares at the final scoreboard.

"Like what even was that game?" Lizzie asks.

"It was a great defensive game, and a victory for the Pats." Nigel says, pouring for glasses of the expensive wine. All four of them clink the glasses and drink the wine.

"Mmm. That's a damn good wine. Good choice Nigel." Dalia says.

"Thanks. I would have bought a scotch, but I didn't wanna be the only one drinking it." Nigel says.

The four of them finish off the bottle and eat pizza for another hour. Nigel and Rachel leave to go back to their apartment.

"You guys good to drive?" Dalia asks..

"Oh yeah I'm fine to drive." Nigel says as he and Rachel get into the car and drive off.

As Dalia waves goodbye, she turns around to Lizzie standing there completely naked.

"Down for a little victory screw?" Lizzie asks seductively.

"Oh fuck yeah." Dalia saunters over to her fiancé.

When they get back to their apartment, Nigel is as exhausted as Rachel.

"Nigel… help." Nigel helps Rachel get her boots and clothes off before getting himself undressed.

Nigel then climbs into bed with her and pulls a fuzzy blanket over them.

"Can you spoon me, babe?" Rachel requests.

"Anything you want." Nigel spoons up behind Rachel. Shortly afterwards, the two of them fall asleep the same way they woke up, in each other's arms.

The End

I hope you all enjoyed the final chapter of this story. It all worked out in the end, a nice and happy ending for Nigel and Rachel. I've always wanted to write a love triangle story, and I'm glad that this is how it turned out. Thank you to all who enjoyed it and may enjoy it in the future.
