"And that, was the story of the legendary purple dragon." said a dragon. This dragon was old, with chiseled purple scales and chipped horns. He was exeptionally large to the dragonets he was reading to.
"What happened to the Darkness after 16 years? asked a dragonet of fiery red scales.
"Well, that was to give the two combatants a sense of hopelessness, knowing it was only temporary." the old dragon said.
"Grampa? Will we have to fight evil?"
"Maybe someday grandson." the old dragon said with a smile on his face.
"Now, now," said another dragon of purple scales, yet not as big as the old dragon, "don't go pressuring old Grampa."
"It's fine son, they have so much energy, like I once had."
"What were you like in the old days? Did you know Spyro?"
"That is a topic for another day. Now, go on, I think your fathers are waiting." the old dragon laughed as he reclined in his chair, a number of volumes sitting next to him.
"Aww." said another black dragoness with purple energy surrounding her, "Can't you tell us."
"I will tell you some other time, now go on."
With a little bit of reluctance, the some eight dragonets left to go with their respective fathers. When they had all cleared out, the old dragon went to a nearby balcony, where two chairs, a table and an old dragoness was waiting. She was aged somewhat, with large wings and a slender frame, as big as the old dragon.
The old dragon sat down next to the dragoness and looked at her, being her mate for many decades.
"Hello." the old dragon greeted.
"Hi." responded the dragoness as she looked into his amethyst eyes while he looked into hers, while her outer self had grown and aged, the beauty of the sapphire eyes never changed.
"I heard what you were saying to those dragonets." started the female.
"Oh really? Which parts?"
"The one where you neglected to tell them what they wanted."
"Oh yeah, forgot about that. You know how my mind has addled."
"Oh shut up," the dragoness said as she kissed him, "I know my mate, and I know that that brain of yours will never fade."
"You got me." the old dragon responded as he reclined in his seat, facing the sun."
"Don't you think it should be a rule never to deprive them of knowledge."
"Well Cynder," responded Spyro, "When you're the purple dragon, you don't abide by the rules." he laughed as he looked to the sun, and a new age of peace.
Thanks for sticking with me for all this time. I would like to say that deleting my other story was a hard hit, having put so much work into it, but as Einstein said, "Life is like a bike, in order to balance you have to keep moving forward."
I would like to thank, IllusionMaster17, Space, andresponceb2002, , and everyone else who commented on my work and inspired me to move forward in my story. Hope you like the twist, about the narrator from the start of the season being an aged Spyro. I would like to give a final PEACE OUT!
