It was just another great day that Bea was having at Freshwater High. After four classes with some of her friends, and hanging out with them at lunch time, she was excited and ready for her 5th hour world cultures class with Milo, Shellsea, and Esmargot.
The class starts and their teacher Mrs. Ireland comes in an, in her normally happy demeanor, greets the class. The students grow excited as she then introduces a new project for the class to work on. Mrs. Ireland assigns the students into random partnerships to start the project off.
Milo is partnered with Shellsea, Esmargot is partnered with an unnamed student, and Bea is partnered with someone new. His name is Jeremy Reeves, a rainbow trout with a light red bodysuit, orange fins and flippers, short orange hair, and wears a reddish-pink backwards brim cap. The two introduce each other as they commence the project.
Throughout their 10 minutes of work time, Bea and Jeremy start to know each other as they put together their project. They find out that they are the same height as each other, they both have no siblings, and they both like the color purple, dancing, and video games. The only thing that they found to not have in common, aside from their genders, is that Jeremy dreams to be a professional poker player when he's older while Bea says she aspired towards acting. When asked if he found if poker is boring, he says that it isn't and that he's known how to play it since he was four years old. She also learned that he's really intelligent, possessing an IQ of 187. Jeremy ends the conversation says that Bea is pretty cool to talk to as he is. Bea knew that she made a new friend right then and there. Later, at the end of the day, Jeremy meets with Bea and asks if they could meet again the following day. They both agree and part ways.
Tomorrow rolls around and Jeremy is invited by Bea and her friends at their lunch table. Bea's girlfriends Shellsea, Esmargot, Finberley, Koi, Clamantha, and another other male friend Milo were there, too. Jeremy is introduced to him as well. As Jeremy takes his seat with his lunch in hand, he begins where he left off from the day prior and reveals more things about himself. He says that he enjoys hanging out with girls more than boys because of the more laid-back and imaginative activities that they enjoy, which match his laid-back personality. Shellsea comments that boys enjoy loud and reckless activities. Jeremy says that those kinds of boys take up a majority, but he's not into that stuff and never was. He also says that he gets along with girls better than with other boys. Therefore, he prefers hanging out with girls a lot more than boys and furthermore says that he's adamant against dating. "There is nothing wrong with that," Bea says. "Exactly," Finberley adds, "That's what makes you different, and there's nothing wrong with all that." Jeremy chuckles and says that, if he had the same preferences as the other boys, he'd be just as happy as if he had them as friends. Milo adds that he's a little like Jeremy.
From that day forward, Jeremy invited his new good friend Bea and/or one of her friends to his house after school on weekend nights as Bea would invite him to hers at times. Bea's parents enjoy Jeremy's company as did his parents when Bea came over. Their parents also got along great with each other. Jeremy gets along greatly with Bea and her other friends as he would talk girl talk with them very leisurely and even taught them how to play poker. Finally, to make his friendship with Bea a lot sweeter, he started giving her hugs every time they would meet and hug at other times to express how happy he is to be in her circle of friends.
