Hello lovely humans, it is I. DarkDreamWalker, a lovely being of questionable origin. It could be heaven, it could be hell. You'll never know.

Tsuki Kitamura was your average highschool girl, at least on the surface. She worried too much about her hair, she fussed about her weight. She played sports and painted. Her grades were good, earning her a spot as third in her class. All in all, life was good for her.

In her darkened room, Tsuki sat at her desk typing away lost in her homework. History was her worst subject and so she put forth great effort to maintain her grade in that class. Timelines were so confusing! Why did she have to know the exact date and time if she knew what happened and what it involved?

People were funny that way. They tried to capture moments, to preserve them.

Tsuki sighed, her thoughts drifting and her motivation went with it.

Time.

She walked to the window and stared out at the people driving in their cars, always in a hurry. Always going through life blindly pushing forward. The rain drummed a gentle melody against the glass and it was a soothing balm against the loneliness in her heart.

In a way, she was grateful that her mother was no longer here to see the world today. A serial killer by the name of Kira was at large. No one knew who he or she was. One at a time he was killing off criminals. She assumed that he was driven by a warped sense of justice and while she could see what he was trying to accomplish, it left a tang on her tongue. Kira was warped.

The power he had was evil... and yet that niggling voice in the back of her mind still challenged her. No one deserved to have their life ended, and yet... crime had been cut in half. The streets seemed safer. Criminals were scurrying around in the gutter and alley ways forced to hide.

A flash of light blinded her and a loud clap of thunder shook the house. Tsuki stepped away from the window, taking in a deep breath before turning around and lying down on her bed. She burried herself under the comforting weight of her blanket, putting a pillow to herself and curling around it.

Her father, Koreyoshi Kitamura was working late again. Since he was the deputy director of the NPA, she was used to his absence. After mom died, dad kind of just pulled into himself. He was always married to his work, but with mom gone... he was lost to it completely. When he was home he was exhaused and short tempered, opting to take meals in his room alone. She didn't mind. No... not really.

Her phone rang but she shut her eyes and ignored it. She knew it was him.

Tomorrow was Saturday and normally she would have plans with her boyfriend- now ex- Tokimaru but they broke up. He was a couple of years older than her and in college. She met him at her favorite coffee shop a few blocks away, he worked there most days when he wasn't in class. Tokimaru was intense and very pushy, something that Tsuki really didn't appreciate so she called it off. There were to many red flags to ignore.

A few moments later the phone rang again so she reached across the bed and sent it straight to voicemail then shut her cellphone off. She breathed out a quiet sigh into the empty room and drug the covers over her head resolved to get some sleep.

Since it was Saturday, Tsuki decided to go out and about to do some shopping. She didn't have any friends but she didn't mind being alone. She was used to it. Her thick white hair was braided and hung like a rope over her left shoulder. The air was a bit too cool for her liking, so she had thrown on a light leather jacket and had opted for jeans instead of a dress or skirt.

First stop, coffee!

Tokimaru wasn't working today, he had classes all morning. She hated dodging him like this... but she just couldn't handle him. Maybe she just wasn't mature enough... maybe his behaviors were completely normal for men his age. Tsuki chewed her bottom lip, remembering all of his aggressive physical advances and the way he would yell at her for telling him to stop.

Without knowing it, she had stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, lost in though. She also noticed that the sound of walking feet behind her had stopped as well. Her eyes widened and her back straightened but she didn't turn around.

Is someone following me?!

If someone was just heading in the same direction... wouldn't they just keep walking?

Tsuki began walking again, listening closely for the sound of feet behind her. After a couple of deep breaths she was almost convinced that she was just being paranoid until the soft scraping footfalls of a man's shoes reached her ears.

This time, Tsuki whipped around with anger in her eyes and a scream building in her throat ready to be unleashed on whatever creep was stalking her... but there was no one there.

I'm losing my mind... she decided.

Thankfully the coffeeshop was in view and she half jogged towards it, opening the door in one swift motion and jumping into the first booth she saw. She peered out the window, looking to see if anyone was following her.

The soft sound of a voice being cleared caught her attention and she turned frightened eyes towards them, calming immediately at the sight.

An elderly gentleman holding a steaming cup of coffee and a newspaper smiled at her kindly. Tsuki blushed crimson and ducked her head respectfully.

"Please forgive me, sir... I thought someone was following me and I failed to see that this booth was already occupied."

"It's quite alright, young lady." Shockingly, the man had a thick English accent that threw her for a moment but he had a grandfatherly nature to him and she felt herself relaxing in his presence.

"My name is Kitamura, Tsuki Kitamura." She smiled back at him shyly and he chuckled.

"I am Watari. It is a pleasure to meet you."

They shook hands and she excused herself politely and he bid her safety on her way. She made her way towards the counter to get a coffee-to-go, feeling much calmer. The barista at the counter grinned at her brightly, recognizing her.

"Tsuki! I haven't seen you in awhile. Do you want a caramel lattè?" Haru went to her school and was always eager to please. Truthfully, she was a very kind person. She had light brown hair that was pinned up in two ornate chopsticks, chocolate colored eyes that were set in a soft and kind face with a mouth that was quick to smile. In a different life, Tsuki would have done anything to be her friend. But... she couldn't. Tsuki was too closed off and had no idea how to form a deep and meaningful relationship with her peers...

"Yes, please Haru!" She smiled with a giggle, shoving down the crushing feeling of loneliness that always threatened to boil over.

Haru beamed at her and made the lattè. Tsuki payed for it and headed out the door, stopping to wave goodbye at Watari who had been joined by odd man.

His hair was black and disheveled, he wore jeans and a long-sleeved white tshirt. His eyes were dark and intense, calculating as he stared at her. Tsuki felt a shiver run up her spine until he turned his attention back to Watari.
