A Naboo ship strafes left and right to avoid a droid fighter's blasts. "I have one on my tail," the pilot says over radio. Anakin flies in, firing his blasters and destroys the droid ship, "I'm on it!". "Wait, who is that?," the leader exclaims. Anakin blows past, spiraling around to avoid oncoming ships, then he makes his way toward the control ship. The canons fire on him again and while he dips around one explosion, the second clips his wing, "I'm hit!". He flies out of control and barely gets the fighter under control before it flies straight into a hangar bay, skidding to a stop on the floor. He opens his eyes, quickly noticing droids manning the hangar. They quickly approach the ship and Anakin begins pounding the console in frustration in an attempt to get the ship moving again.

Outside the capital city, Jar Jar hides under a cart. Nearby, the surviving Gungins are ducking behind damaged catapults and the animals pulling the carts. "Jar Jar, we have to do something," a Gungin shouts to him. The droids slowly walk up the hill, blaster rifles at the ready. Jar Jar sighs to himself, "What do I have to lose?," he crawls out from under the cart and reaches up, grabbing the latch holding all the globes in place. "There's one. Blast `im!," a droid commands. Jar Jar steps back and allows the cart to pop open, spilling all the globes. They roll down the hill, crushing several droids. The other Gungins follow suit by unhooking the latches to the other carts. Soon, the entire hill is filled with rolling globes, bowling over the droids. The globes run through the crowds, nearly reaching the transport. Soon, there is a field of droid parts strewn about. "Did we win?," Jar Jar asks happily. The few droids that were not completely destroyed pick themselves off the ground: some are missing limbs and a few have holes, but they are capable of holding rifles. Jar Jar and the other Gungins are now sitting ducks.

Obi-Wan seethes with anger as he looks through the forcefield at Darth Maul. Maul spins his lightsaber around and beckons Obi-Wan, "Come to me, Padawan. I'm ready." The rays shut off and Obi-Wan is able to rush into the room, roaring with fury as he charges Maul. He strikes high and then low, Maul turning his twin blades to block before spinning around for an attack, which Obi-Wan ducks under. Maul strikes with the top blade and Obi-Wan stands to the side, blocking it from the front. Then Maul turns the bottom blade up and Obi-Wan brings his blade behind his head to block the second strike. He pivots away and Maul spins his saber around, forcing Obi-Wan to block multiple shots. They both spin away at once, briefly stopping to catch their breath before going at it again. Maul leaps into the air in a spinning move and Obi-Wan backs away, then jumps as Maul goes in low. He charges once again, briefly locking blades with Maul before he pushes him back and chops the saber in half at the hilt. With Maul off-balance (and with only one light saber blade instead of two), Obi-Wan kicks him in the chest. Obi-Wan flips over the prone Maul, striking while in the air. Maul blocks the strike, then performs a kip up to get back on his feet. Maul somersaults away from Obi-Wan, turns, and performs a three-strike move which Obi-Wan blocks. He finishes it off with a kick to Obi-Wan's face, but Obi-Wan rides the momentum and backflips onto his feet again. He goes for Maul's legs, but he flips over the blade and maneuvers around, forcing Obi-Wan to turn his back to the pit. They lock blades once more and Maul brushes Obi-Wan back, then hits him with a Force-push that sends him into the pit. Obi-Wan falls, losing his lightsaber, but manages to grab a light fixture on the way down to stop his fall. Maul stands over the pit with a prideful sneer.

In the Naboo throne room, Nute keeps Padme and Panaka at bay while droids surround them. "Your forces are almost completely destroyed. It will go easier for you when you sign the treaty, Your Majesty," Nute tells her, "There are some who wish to destroy you but I am much more generous. I will give you this one opportunity." The queen's decoy rushes into the room along with Gungin troops.

"Your invasion has come to an end, Viceroy," the decoy and the Gungins fire on several droids, then race back into the hallway.

Nute turns to the remaining droids, "After them! That is Queen Amidala. This one's a decoy!," they follow orders and run after them.

Acting fast, Captain Panaka presses a button on the throne and a secret compartment opens up, revealing a blaster pistol. He throws the pistol to Padme who catches it and trains it on Nute, "Now Viceroy, we will discuss a new treaty!".

In the droid control ship, Anakin finally finds the proper switch, igniting the ship's hover engines, which allows the ship to lift off a few feet from the floor. The droids rapidly approach, firing their blasters, which mostly deflect off the ship. "Alright, who's first?," Anakin fires a blast which decimates the droids in front of him , then pulls the ship in reverse, firing in a haphazard manner. One photon blast finds its way down a hallway where it hits a reactor, causing a massive explosion that rips through the hangar and pushes Anakin out of the bay. On the bridge, a technician turns to Daultray Dofine, "Sir, the main reactor has been hit." Dofine shakes his head, "That's impossible. Our shields can withstand-". He is interrupted when the bridge explodes. Outside the ship, pilots fly past and watch as explosions erupt from the inside. "The control ship is blowing apart," the leader states, "We didn't hit it!". Anakin rights his ship and proudly flies back to Naboo as the control ship continues to explode behind him.

As the damaged droids approach Jar Jar and the Gungins, they suddenly drop their heads and fall over. In the city, more droids fall over, including the destroyer droids. The Gungin troops stare at them curiously. In space, what's left of the control ship drifts away along with several droid ships. The Naboo fighters return home.
