For Attack of the Clones, aside from retooling certain lines of dialogue and scenes, I have made the following major changes while trying to maintain the essence of the story and characters:

1) A stronger romance between Anakin and Padme with Bail Organa forming the third part of a love triangle.

2) Darth plays a role in the story.

3) Count Dooku and the formation of the Clone Army serves as part of a larger conspiracy within the Jedi Order.

4) Obi-Wan faces his dark self, similar to Luke's test in the cave in Empire Strikes Back.

5) A stronger friendship between Obi-Wan and Anakin who have less time apart from one another and are introduced in an action sequence.

There is unrest in the Galactic
Senate. Several thousand solar
systems have declared their
intentions to leave the Republic.

This separatist movement,
under the leadership of the
mysterious Count Dooku, has
made it difficult for the limited
number of Jedi Knights to
maintain peace and order in
the galaxy.

Senator Amidala, the former
Queen of Naboo, is returning
to the Galactic Senate to vote
on the critical issue of creating
an ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC
to assist the overwhelmed
Jedi...

Padme Amidala's royal cruiser flies toward Coruscant, trailed by twin Naboo fighters. The ships skim across the surface of the city landscape. The sun glints off the chrome hulls of the sleek Naboo spacecraft as they navigate between the buildings of the capital planet. Two Naboo Fighters land on one leaf of a three-leaf-clover landing platform. The Royal Starship lands on the central lead, and the third Fighter lands on the remaining platform.

A small group of dignitaries wait to welcome the Senator, one of whom, is Bail Organa who is flanked by R2D2 and C3PO. One of the fighter pilots jumps from the wing of his ship and removes his helmet, revealing Captain Panaka. He moves over to a female pilot who still has her helmet on, covering most of her face, "I guess I was wrong. There's nothing to worry about." The ramp to the cruiser extends and two Naboo guards appear, along with Senator Amidala, and two handmaidens descend the ramp. The dignitaries start to move forward. Amidala reaches the foot of the ramp, when suddenly there is a blinding flash and a huge explosion. The dignitaries and pilots are hurled to the ground as the starship is destroyed. Klaxons blare, alarms sound! Captain Panaka and the female pilot get up and run to where Amidala lies dying. Bail and R2 rush to their side while C3PO stands back, "Oh dear." The female escort pilot kneels by the dying woman and takes off her helmet, revealing the face of Padme Amidala.

"Corde'...," Padme speaks to her decoy.

"I'm... s-sorry m'lady. I'm... not sure... I..."

"No! I shoudl have never come back."

"Senator Amidala...," Panaka draws his blaster pistol and scans the area, "You are still in danger. We must go inside."

Padme continues to grieve over the body.

Bail extends his hand to help her up while R2 whistles and chirps, "Senator, this vote is very important. You have done your duty and your decoy has fulfilled hers."

"Senator Organa is right," Panaka adds, "Now come. M'Lady, please!"

Padme quickly leaves along with the others. Meanwhile, Chancellor Palpatine speaks to the Senate in their circular chamber. There is much chatter, but Palpatine speaks over them, "My esteemed colleagues, I understand these are troubling times. The Separatists have become more aggressive, but I ask that you remain patient. Negotiations are continuing with the Separatists. Peace is our objective here... not war. As long as I am Supreme Chancellor, I will not allow...".

Padme's Senate pod hovers forward along with Panaka, "Chancellor Palaptine. May I be permitted to speak?"

"The chair recognizes the Senator from Naboo, Padme Amidala."

"My noble colleagues, I concur with the Supreme Chancellor. At all costs, we do not want war! Less than an hour ago, an assassination attempt was made against my life," this statement causes a number of gasps and murmurs, "One of my bodyguards and six others were ruthlessly and senselessly murdered. I was the target but, more importantly, I believe this security measure before you, was the target. I have led the opposition to build an army...," the Senators begin to boo and yell, "I warn you, if you vote to create this army, war will follow. I have experienced the misery of war first-hand. As most of you recall, ten years ago, my planet was under attack form the Trade Federation. I do not wish to go through that again." The Senators begin to shout and throw insults at her.

Bail Organa's pod hovers into view; he is flanked by R2 and C3PO. "Senator Amidala is correct," he shouts.

Palaptine motions toward him, "The chair recognizes Senator Bail Organa from Alderaan."

Bail nods politely to Palpatine and continues despite the jeers from the crowd, "Wake up, Senators! If you offer the Separatists violence, they can only show us violence in return! Many will lose their lives. All will lose their freedom. This decision could very well destroy the very foundation of our great Republic. Does anyone here want that? I cannot believe they do."

Another senator moves in and shouts, "Why weren't the Jedi able to stop this assassination? We are no longer safe, under their protection. I move to defer the vote!"

Palpatine sighs and appears tired, "Due to the lateness of the hour and the seriousness of this motion, we will take up these matters tomorrow. Until then, the Senate stands adjourned."

Later, the two senators and their entourages sit in Palpatine's chambers. "That could have gone better," Bail looks out the window at the speeders flying by outside.

Palpatine nods, "We will sway more of our colleagues to our side, Senator Organa. I've seen to it personally," the door slides open and Mace Windu comes inside, "Ah, Master Windu. You've arrived. And right on time, I might add."

"Chancellor Palpatine. Senators. The Jedi Council hope the war has been averted."

"For the time being," Padme tells him, "I don't know how much longer we can hold off the vote. More and more star systems are joining the Separatists."

"If they do break away?"

"I will not let that happen," Palpatine tells him.

"In the meantime, do the Jedi have any idea who was behind the attack on Senator Amidala?," Bail asks.

"Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners, on the moons of Naboo."

"I don't wish to disagree but I think that Count Dooku was behind it," Padme explains.

"You know, Senator Amidala, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He wouldn't assassinate anyone, it is not in his character. He may be a political idealist but he is not a murderer."

"All the same," Palpatine begins, "Might I suggest Senator Amidala be placed under Jedi protection?"

"I'm not sure the situation is that serious, Chancellor" Padme tells him.

"Oh, but I insist. I understand how disruptive this might be to you. Perhaps if your security detail was someone you were familiar with... like Master Obi-Wan Kenobi?"

"He and his apprentice are currently settling a border dispute on Anison."

"His apprentice?... Anakin Skywalker?"

"Yes, M'lady."

"Perhaps I will feel more at ease if I were guarded by someone I was comfortable with," she hides her smile, "It has been so long since I've seen the two of them."

"I will ask Master Yoda to contact them."

"Thank you, Master Windu."

C3PO quietly confides, "I'm not sure I'm programmed to deal with this much excitement," R2 chirps at him, "What do you mean you're enjoying this?"
