At night, Anakin tosses and turns in his bed as he has a vivid dream, "Mom... no... No!". He sits up in bed, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. The following morning, he is fully dressed and meditating on a balcony. Padme comes out to join him.

"Anakin? Sorry,... I didn't mean to disturb you. I'll wait."

"Don't go. Your presence is very relaxing. It helps me meditate."

"I was just wondering if you'd like some breakfast," she smiles playfully, "That is, if Jedi eat."

He chuckles a bit, "Yes, we eat. And since you are a powerful senator, I assume you have a servant preparing the breakfast?"

"I can prepare food on my own, believe it or not."

"You're right, I don't believe you."

"Now, you're just making fun of me."

"Oh, I'm much too frightened to tease a senator."

"So you don't want breakfast. That's fine," she begins to playfully walk away.

He jokingly steps in her way, "Okay, I'll eat."

"Oh, you're a big, powerful Jedi. You can manage on your own."

"I can but I wouldn't be a goof Jedi if I declined."

"You're not so tough. I bet you wouldn't see this coming."

She begins poking his ribs, tickling him. He laughs and tickles her back and they end up leaning against the balcony... which leads into a kiss. They hold the kiss for a moment and the wind picks up... until Padme quickly pulls away.

"I shouldn't have done that."

"No,... it, uh...," Anakin stammers.

Padme's comlink begins to chirp, "I should probably get that."

"Y-yeah, of course."

She brings the disc out of her pocket and a hologram of Palpatine lights up, "Good morning Senator. Master Skywalker. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

"No, sir. Nothing at all," Anakin blurts out.

"I am curious to know how the investigation is going."

"Master Kenobi is on the case," Padme assures him, "He should find the culprit soon."

"Good. Good. The Senate grows impatient and they may demand a vote soon... with or without you."

"You're the Supreme Chancellor," Anakin tells him, "Surely, they must listen to you. Tell them to wait."

"I'm afraid it's not that easy, young Skywalker."

"It should be," he shrugs.

"How long have they agreed to wait?," Padme asks.

"One more day, I'm afraid. Let's hope Master Kenobi uncovers this mystery soon."

Obi-Wan's Jedi starfighter appears out of hyperspace with a hyperdrive rig surrounding it. It detaches itself and Obi-Wan flies toward Camino. Heavy rains and hard-driving winds lash the platform as Obi-Wan's Starship approaches. The huge, ultra-modern city of Tipoca rests on great stilts that keep it above the pounding and ever-present waves that cover the surface of this watery world. The Starfighter lands, then he gets out and makes his way through the bowling wind toward a tower on the far side of the platform. A door slides open. A shaft of brilliant light pierces the swirling rain. He pushes the soaking hood from his face and sees a tall alien with a long neck.

"Welcome to Tipoca City, Master Jedi. I am Taun We."

Obi-Wan wipes the rain from his face and blinks in surprise as he slowly enters, but says nothing.

"Everything is ready. The Prime Minister expects you."

"I'm expected?"

"Of course! He is anxious to see you. After all these years, we were beginning to think you weren't coming. Now please, this way!"

Obi-Wan masks his surprise as they move away along the corridor. He follows Taun We cautiously as the next door slides open and they enter to see a meeting room where another Camino alien sits. Lama Su rises, smiling from behind his desk, which, like all the furniture on Camino, seems made out of pure light.

"May I present Lama Su, Prime Minister of Camino... and this is Master Jedi..."

"Uh,... Obi-Wan Kenobi."

"Please," Lama Su indicates a chair and Obi-Wan sits, "I trust you are going to enjoy your stay. We are most happy you have arrived at the best part of the season."

"You make me feel most welcome."

"And now to business. You will be delighted to hear we are on schedule. Two hundred thousand units are ready, with another million well on the way."

Obi-Wan masks his confusion as he plays along, "That is... good news."

"Please tell your Master Sido-Dyas that we have every confidence his order will be met on time and in full. He is well, I hope?"

"I'm sorry Master - ?"

"Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. The apprentice of Count Dooku."

"Oh, yes. Sido-Dyas."

"You must be anxious to inspect the units for yourself."

"That's... why I'm here."

Back in a study at Senator Organa's palace, a fire blazes in the open hearth. Padme is sitting in front of it, gazing at the flames. She looks up as Anakin arrives. She makes room for him and there is a brief pause.
"I thought you were asleep," Anakin begins.

"I'm worried about... a lot of things," she says softly, "I thought you were asleep as well.

"I don't sleep well these days."

"I suppose we all have much to worry about."

"M'Lady," he begins awkwardly, "About... this afternoon..."

"It was a mistake and it won't happen again," Padme states coldly.

"I don't regret what happened."

"Anakin, please..."

"I know you feel the same way. I can sense it."

"Perhaps your Jedi intuition is not as keen as you think it is."

"It's never wrong. And believe me, I wish neither one of us felt this way but I can't deny it. Neither should you."

"... I can't. We can't. It's not possible."

"I know how difficult this is. I"m telling you Padme, I can sense everything. I don't want to, but I can't help. I know how much turmoil you're going through. I feel the same way."

"You're studying to become a Jedi Knight. I'm a Senator. If you follow your thoughts through to conclusion, they will take us to a place we cannot go... regardless of the way we feel about each other."

"Is there some law forbidding Senators from being with someone they love?"

"Not... really."

"So the problem is with society? It's not proper for a Senator to be with someone like me, is that it? Is it because I'm a former slave?"

"None of that makes any difference. Jedi aren't allowed to marry. You swore an oath, remember? You'd be expelled from the Order. I will not let you give up your responsibilities... your future, for me."

"I was destined to be a Jedi. I don't think I could be anything else...We could keep it a secret."

"Then we'd be living a lie - one we couldn't keep even if we wanted to. Could you live like that?"

"No,... you're right. It would destroy us."
