Note: Well. I was going through my theories as to what might have happened to Hetty, then I realized that no one has actually tried to really explain what happened to her in Season 10, And then my number 1 theory started going through my brain, and here I am. Going to try to fill in that huge blank slate!

Just a heads up:

There's literally no real clues as to what Hetty was up to in Season 10, so I'm flying blind here.

There's a brief mention of her in the Season 10 premeire, and the end of Hit List. Then absolute nothing regarding her until Till Death do us Part. I'll include the brief mentions here. Other then those, I'm really on my own here.

As you can tell by my writing now, I'm kind of nervous. I've never actually tried to fill in a huge hole in canon like this.

I also can't say I'll update this regularly.

The writing format here is all in voice recordings. I've never used that format until now.

'Can anyone hear me? If you can hear this, Well, I have no idea how you found these recordings, but be warned, there is a lot of personal and confidential information on these tapes! So, Please guard what you hear with your life!'

'Sorry for scaring you. My name is Henrietta Lange, or Hetty, as everyone calls me. I work for the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles, California. I can't tell you where it is because it's a secret. I'm very good at keeping secrets.'

'As for why I'm making these recordings, well, I need something in case I were to never come home from, whatever this is. Or when I eventually get the nerve to tell someone what I have been up to.'

'Anyways. This started 6 months ago, back in May…'

'My supposed partner, Shay Mosley, the Assistant Director of NCIS, forced my team of special agents to go to Mexico to look for her missing son. The mission was going well, until they were ambushed, and, blown up with a grenade launcher. I saw the whole thing from OPS.'

'I was beyond horrified. I knew I had to save them. I called a friend to ask him to fill in for me for a bit. And I left as fast as I could.'

'I started calling people I knew that could get me to Mexico as quickly as possible. One of the tech operators at OPS kept calling me, asking where I was. I eventually called her, told her I was okay and that I was going to save my people, no matter what.'

'I got to Mexico that night. I was having trouble staying asleep. A friend of mine from the CIA came to me. We started talking, and then he mentioned something about a trafficking ring. I think I fell asleep then because I couldn't remember anything else afterwards.'

'That morning, I had gotten word that my agents were taken to a hospital, and that the bad people who tried to kill them were coming back to finish the job.'

''Somehow, the bad guys pulled away, and left. No need for a nasty battle. I got them a helicopter ride back to California.'

'The whole time, I was, somewhere safe. With a good friend of mine telling me what had happened. We met up at the hospital later on. I told him I was, going to explore the country.'

'Why did I tell him that? Sigh. So he wouldn't try to follow me, which he would've done if I had told him what I was REALLY going to do.'

'As for what that is exactly, well, I'm too tired to explain right now. I'll explain later.'

Endnotes: What Hetty means by 6 months ago means she started the recordings in November. And her not revealing hardly any names is her way of keeping their identities confidential.
