Yoda sits in a Jedi meditation room, his eyes closed and his legs crossed. As he breathes deeply, he hears the familiar voice of Qui-Gon Jin, "Hello again, Master Yoda." He slowly opens his eyes but does not appear to be alarmed. A moment later, Mace Windu enters the room and sits across from him.

"Skywalker was supposed to meet with the Chancellor last night, but he has not reported back," he tells Yoda, "I sense a great disturbance."

"I do as well, old friend. Strong is the Darkside. Susceptible, young Skywalker is."

"Obi-Wan Kenobi believes he is the Chosen One. As you know, I have always had my doubts despite Skywalker's power. What say you?"

"Misinterpreted the prophecy might have been."

"So what now?"

"To Utapau, Obi-Wan must go. Confront Darth Maul if he is there. Destroy the Seperatist Army, we will."

"Without Chancellor Palpatine's approval?"

"If Darth Maul we capture, yield, Palpatine must."

"In the meantime, I'll summon Obi-Wan. Perhaps he can talk to Anakin."

Obi-Wan meets Anakin in the Jedi garden, "I called you here because Master Windu hasn't heard from you. Did you meet with Chancellor Palpatine?"

"Yes, I did but... I didn't convince him to step down. I've been conflicted ever since."

"You are still loyal to him."

"I think these times call for drastic measures and I don't think the Council has their priorities in order."

"It might ease your mind to know we have located Darth Maul and I have been instructed to confront him. Palpatine has said that once Darth Maul has been dealt with, he'll bring the war to an end and reestablish the rule of the Senate."

"Chancellor Palpatine didn't inform me of this."

"That is because..."

"Because this is a secret mission."

"We don't wish to have a large military strike. Once I have completed the mission, I will inform the Chancellor."

"I'm still not sure of all this. I suppose it's of little consequence now that I'll be resigning."

"I wouldn't mind if you came along," a bittersweet smile forms across his face, "One final quest."

"It's tempting to see this war to the end but I think it's best to resign now. I hope all ends well... for everyone."

"As do I."

"May the Force be with you," Anakin hands his lightsaber over to Obi-Wan and he reluctantly takes it.

"May the Force be with you, old friend," with that, they part ways.

Some time later, Obi-Wan blasts out of his fighter's hyperspace ring and heads for the planet Utapau. The blue fighter skims over the planet's surface, which is covered by lush jungle and massive sinkholes. Soon, he lands his ship on a Platform projecting out of the side of one of the sinkholes. All is quiet. A local administrator, Tion Medon, comes out to greet the ship. Obi-Wan climbs out of his fighter as a ground crew looks over his ship. On a ledge above the landing platform, spy droids watch as Obi-Wan talks to Tion.

"Greetings, young Jedi. What brings you to our remote sanctuary?"

"Unfortunately, the war."

"There is no war here unless you've brought it with you."

"With your kind permission, I should like some fuel and to use your city as a base as I search nearby systems for Darth Maul, the general of the Seperatists."

Tion leans close to him and speaks quietly, "He is here! We are being held hostage. They are watching us."

"I understand."

"The tenth level . . . thousands of Battle Droids . . ."

"Tell your people to take shelter. If you have warriors, now is the time."

Obi-Wan starts back toward his Starfighter as Tion leaves the landing platform. The spy droids retreat from the overhead platform. Obi-Wan climbs back into his fighter and his Astro Droid turns to him, "G-9, take the Fighter back to the ship. I'm staying here. Tell the Jedi Council I've made contact." The little Astro Droid beeps a reply, then Obi-Wan watches his ship take off. Once it is out of sight, he quietly moves farther into the city. Not long after, he is seen speaking to a wrangler who has lizard-like bolgas tied up. The Jedi buys one and mounts it before riding off.

The bolga rears up on her hind legs again, then climbs the wall of the sheer cliff and starts moving up toward the tenth level. The city appears to be deserted, but Obi-Wan is alert to any movement as he makes his way to the grand chamber. The bolga carries him up the wall and to the roof where he dismounts and climbs down through an open canopy. There, he spots Darth Maul flanked by thousands of battle droids and a pair of bodyguard droids as he speaks to the holograms of the Trade Federation.

"It won't be long before the armies of the Republic track us here," Maul warns, "I will soon join you on Mustafar where we can formulate our next plan."

"But what of Darth Sidious?," Nute Gunray speaks up, "He ordered you to stay on Utapau."

"I am the general of this army! I am in charge now! Wait on Mustafar for my arrival," Maul angrily shuts off the hologram.

The Jedi removes his cloak and jumps down behind the general, "Don't leave too quickly. We have a lot of catching up to do."

The droids all raise their weapons and converge on Obi-Wan who ignites his lightsaber. "Back away. I will deal with the Jedi myself," Maul commands and the droids lower their weapons. "General Kenobi, you are a bold one," Maul continues, "You came to confront me even when you knew you were grossly outnumbered."

"You're awfully predictable. I knew you couldn't pass up a chance to fight me alone."

"But we will not do battle here... Follow me if you can."

Maul leaps down to a lower level and lands on a wheel bike which disconnects from its couplings and races toward a platform. Obi-Wan whistles and the bolga leaps down from the ceiling, smashing several droids and swatting a few more with its tails. Obi-Wan hops on its back and scales down the outer wall after Darth Maul. Maul drives down a ramp, far outpacing Obi-Wan's lizard. Obi-Wan has the creature leap off the wall, land on a nearby rooftop, and run alongside before leaping off again. It lands behind Maul's bike and they race toward a massive sinkhole.
