CHAPTER 12

THE VOID

Shaking went back and forth. The Pelican was entering into a new Planet's atmosphere. Entering into the heavy winds.

Ares closed his eyes knowing what happened years ago. Heavy strong winds that pushed and slammed heavily against it.

Josh stood up holding his Assault rifle and looking down at it. Checking its ammo clip once more. Donny was standing beside him. Red lights blinked.

On and off flashing over and over. Donny looked forward. In his right hand he held a small SMG. In his right he held onto the bar.

"Your father had told me before...before coming to this hell of a hole"said Donny looking forward Josh looked towards him

"To never allow you...to endure the pain that he went through... the enemies he made over the years"said Donny

Josh looked down at his weapon. Noticing the blinking lights of red. He closed his eyes hearing these words coming from him.

"I never wanted this in the beginning...nothing of this was important and yet...I don't know now"said Josh

Donny looked towards him. Hearing the voice of being misunderstood.

Being lost. Being lost as he was. Donny knew this was a horrid thing to have.

"Hailey was my answer...for everything...now...now...I'm lost even worse..."said Josh looking down at the ground

"There's always something"said Donny

The Pelican shifted towards its right. Alarms went off more. Sounds of gunfire.

"Change of plans! Will breach in 10 Seconds!"yelled Ares

Josh looked back towards Donny. Both stood ready as the Pelican was heading into the horrid voiding winds. The constantly moving winds of change.

Gunfire hit the sides of the Pelican. Donny held on tightly. The Pelican smashed through the slowly closing back bay doors.

Smashing into the ground as lasers were shot. Ares yelled grunting aloud. Sparks flew from the front, and sides of the Pelican. Back doors opened.

Josh and Donny raced out into the docking bay. Taking instant aim Josh fired his assault rifle into grunts and Elites. Donny raced towards his nearest enemy.

Grenades flew through the air as they were tossed. Grunts yelled in cheer as they believed they could win. Josh rolled out of the plasma grenades path.

Rolling onto the ground and getting quickly back up aiming. Firing his Assault rifle into a rushing Elite. Lasers went back and forth firing towards the Pelican.

Donny slashed through his enemies with his Titanium Ether Sword. Much like an energy sword. Long in length as a katana.

Donny moved swiping through the attacks. His moving agility was faster than other Spartans. Donny jumped over an Elite, dropping into the ground.

Sliding across the floor. Donny quickly grabbed his SMG on his right leg. Firing back towards the Elite. Josh tossed his grenade into the pack of grunts.

Yelling went off. Ares ran out of the broken Pelican. Heading out into combat. Josh rushed towards the closing hallway doors.

Grunts yelled running into it. Another screamed struggling to closed the doors.

"CLOSE THEM!"yelled a Grunt

"SHUT UP-SHUT UP-SHUT UP! I'm trying!"yelled the other Grunt as the doors closed slowly

Josh fired his assault rifle towards them. The slapping grunt yelled as he flew past the other 2 Grunts.

"OH SHIT!"yelled the Grunt at the button as he kept on pressing and pressing

The other 2 grunts left running. Leaving the elevator Grunt pressing the button. The grunt looked back frightened as he yelled.

Closing his eyes, Josh ran instantly passed him. Behind him was Donny along with Ares.

"OH?! PLEASE NO!"yelled the Grunt as the 3 ran past him without any hurry onto killing him

He opened his eyes seeing the slashed doorway. Noticing the many dropped bodies. He breathed in slowly.

"Ahhh...oh boy, I-I-I can't believe it I'm alive..."he said as he rushed out heading into the docking bay screaming

Running. Josh noticed his radar. Scanning on the enemies heat signatures. Donny looked back seeing nothing else but the dropped dead bodies.

"How much farther?!"yelled Ares

"Main Bridge, Dansuke appears to be heading somewhere with Lucio"said Donny

The 3 entered into the elevator and headed up. Josh reloaded his assault rifle. Donny stood beside him. Ares looked at them.

"Understand, Dansuke isn't going to let this go on much longer, he will kill us when he gains the chance"said Ares

"Understood, Ares"said Josh

"We move in, and keep it tight"said Josh

Donny breathed in gripping the handle of his katana. Holding it by his side. Doors opened as they rushed out. Heading out into the front.

Large holograms of the planet. Large holograms of scanners, objects along with images of broken down buildings of Forerunners structures.

Taking aim towards the holograms. Towards the soldiers. Elite soldiers yelled firing they're weapons as they passed through the holograms.

While returning fire back towards the Elites. Josh noticed Lucio running down the hallway behind Dansuke. Both headed towards the next room.

"Go!, I'll handle them"yelled Ares

Josh and Donny went off rushing towards the right hand side. Pursuing Lucio and Dansuke. Doors opened as Josh fired his assault rifle towards Lucio.

Yet explosions went off. Donny and Josh were thrown by the pure force into the ground. Ares yelled as the Main bridge exploded.

While ducking air suction sucked out Elites. They yelled as they dropped out of the half broken bridge. Sparks and flames burned around.

Ares looked back up. Noticing the massive chunks of clouds. Glass sounding off. Sparks of broken wires going off.

Ares looked right noticing the broken blockage. Cables sparking back and forth.

"Josh?! Donny?!"yelled Ares as he stood up

Ares heard nothing of any voice. Only static. Ares looked back and grunted.

"Shit"he said noticing the broken White hologram flickering on and off towards his left side. Floating above the half broken bridge floor. Winds blew in.

"No fucking way"he said staring at the very image of a Forerunner Structure

Large and buried within the massive chunks of sand. The Forerunner structure was barely unearthed.

"He wants? What could he possibly want within these old ruins?!"yelled Ares
