Some time later, the Jedi Plo Koon heads his ship through the sky as two Clone fighters give chase, firing off several blasts. He spins around to avoid the blasts and circles back behind them. Once he does this, he strafes left and right, blasting both out of the sky. He looks up as if being alerted to someone's presence just as Anakin's ship drops behind him. He has little time to react before Anakin fires, blasting him.

Not far away, a Jedi, Stass Allie, races along the surface on a speeder bike as the sun sets. Anakin flies after her and she looks back just in time as his canons fire.

After nightfall, inside a canyon, Shaak-Ti and her padawan sit with a fire between them. "Why did the clones turn on us?," the padawan asks. "I do not know," Shaak-Ti tells her, "But we must not lose hope. It's -," she turns as if sensing something. "What is it, Mistress?," the padawan appears nervous. "Wait here," Shaak-Ti races around the corner. Soon, there is the distinct sound of clashing lightsabers with red and red lights dancing along the rock wall. There is a faint moan and the lights die down. The padawan waits until Anakin rounds the corner, red lightsaber in hand. Before she can say anything, he hurls the saber in her direction.

Ki-Adi-Mundi stands in a forest with thick trees. An R2 unit is before him, relaying a message. "The Clones have turned on us and killed many Jedi," he says, "Our deepest fears were correct. Chancellor Palpatine is not to be trusted." He stops as he hears a lightsaber ignite; Anakin stands ready before him. "Skywalker," he ignites his own saber, "Why do I sense you are not here to offer assistance?" Anakin says nothing but storms forward with several quick strikes. Mundi blocks the strikes, but he is forced to step back several feet as Anakin presses the attack. Eventually, he is backed up against a tree with a wide trunk. At the back of the tree, there is a hot, red streak that suddenly appears. The tree is split in half and falls away but there is no sign of the old Jedi, only Anakin.

In a river bed, Obi-Wan emerges form the water, coughing and stumbling as he regains his balance and gasps for air. He stumbles onto the sand and falls. A few moments go by before the wind kicks up and he sees a Clone transport hovering ominously above him. He scramblers to his feet in preparation just as the side hatch opens, revealing Yoda, "Master Obi-Wan. Quickly, we must flee!"

Soon, the ship takes off out of orbit. Inside, Obi-Wan towels himself off as Yoda sits in the pilots seat with the auto-pilot engaged. "Chancellor Palpatine has betrayed us," Obi-Wan tells him, "Anakin was right. He is a sithlord."

"Yes, Master Skywalker I sensed on the planet."

"He's down there? We must go back."

"Received a message from Master Mundi, I have," Yoda presses a few buttons on the console, "Prepare yourself, you must." A hologram of Ki-Adi-Mundi appears. "The Clones have turned on us and killed many Jedi. Our deepest fears were correct. Chancellor Palpatine is not to be trusted," on the hologram, he turns as Anakin appears, "Skywalker. Why do I sense you are not here to offer assistance?" They fight and Obi-Wan looks on in horror as the sound of clashign lightsabers can be heard just before Mundi's death rattle and the sound of a falling tree.

"Darth Maul... was right," Obi-Wan mutters.

"Hmm?"

"He said Chancellor Palpatine was a sithlord and that Anakin would be groomed as a new apprentice."

"Yes, the darkside now has taken over young Skywalker."

"No, he's not Anakin... Anakin is dead. In his place,... something twisted and evil. I knew things about him. I-I should have seen this coming."

"Blame yourself do not. Go to the Jedi Temple, we must. There, we may have allies."

"If they are still alive."

"Remember, Obi-Wan, death is not the end," as Yoda says these words, there is weight and Obi-Wan looks at him curiously.

The door to Senator Organa's chamber slides open. There, C-3P0 stands, "Excuse me. May I help you?"

"I wish to see Senator Organa," Padme tells him.

Inside the chamber, R2-D2 chirps and beeps, prompting C-3PO to let her in.

"Right this way, madam," he motions inside and the door closes.

Soon, Bail and Padme sit across each other at a table. "I haven't seen Anakin in over a day. I worry," she tells him.

"There doesn't seem to be any sign of any of the Jedi right now," Bail answers, "And I get the feeling we may need them now ore than ever."

"I tried to contact Obi-Wan Kenobi but the signal was jammed. Someone is not allowing us to speak to them."

"Remember, we're not the only Senators who fear something is happening. Chancellor Palpatine has gone too far."

"We'll go to the Jedi Temple directly tomorrow. Hopefully, we won't be spotted by patrol vessels."

Bail looks at R2-D2, "With that R2 unit, we can avoid detection. We'll get to the bottom of this."

The next day, Bail, Padme, and C-3P0 rise into the air on a speeder, Padme and Bail wearing cloaks to hide themselves. R2-D2 pilots the speeder and whistles ominously as he detects something. "Oh dear," C-3P0 mutters as the other two look on in horror. The Jedi Temple is in the distance, burnt out and ugly.

Inside, Obi-Wan and Yoda pace around what's left of the Jedi Council meeting room. "We're too late," Obi-Wan says, "He was here. I can still sense his presence."

"Troubling this is. Unforeseen."

"What do we do, Master Yoda?"

"Lose hope, do not. The Force will be with us,... always."

They both turn in unison just as Bail and Padme come through the charred door, "Obi-Wan!," Padme shouts and rushes to him.

"Senator Organa, Senator Amidala. News have you?," Yoda asks.

"I'm afraid not," Bail explains, "We were hoping you might have answers."

"A sithlord, Chancellor Palaptine is. And more..."

"Padme," Obi-Wan's voice cracks, "Anakin has joined him."

"You're wrong!," she pushes away from him, "How could you even say that?"

"I have seen a recording of him... killing a Jedi. We're sure he has murdered many others."

"Not Anakin! He couldn't!"

"He was deceived by a lie. We all were. It appears that the Chancellor is behind everything, including the war. He has turned Anakin."

"I don't believe you ... I can't."

"Padme, He is no longer the man you knew."

"You're going to kill him, aren't you?"

"In a way... he's already dead. You must come to grips with that."

As Padme moves to sit down, she reveals her pregnancy under her cloak, "I can't . . ."

"I know... I'm so sorry."

Yoda sighs sadly, then turns to Bail, "More allies, have you?"

"Yes, Senator Mon Mothma has rallied a few others... in secret of course."

"Good. Stay hidden, you must."

"What do we do with Palpatine?," Padme asks.

"Deal with him, I shall."

"I'll be stationed outside in case you need me," Bail offers.

"Thank you, Senator. Obi-Wan, know where Anakin will go, do you?"

"I know the Trade Federation Viceroy is on Mustafar. I overheard Darth Maul speaking to them. If Palpatine plans on continuing his reign, he'll make sure they are eliminated so there are no witnesses."

"Go there. Confront Skywalker, you must."

"I'll go with you," Padme tells him, "Please, Obi-Wan. If he won't listen to me, then..."

"I shall do what I must."

She nods sorrowfully.
