Chapter 4: Quiz of Endurance Part 1

Meanwhile Canterlot City Park, Twilight and the others walk back with the others to have their picnic lunch. The others walk through the park with the food and other supplies to meet up with Sun and the others.

"Thanks for helping us with the groceries," Twilight says.

"It's no trouble, Twilight. We're friends after all and friends do help each other," Adagio says.

"Still," Aria says. Then turns to Trixie and Starlight.

Then asks, "Remind me who decided to invite them."

"I kind of did, and Sun said it's okay," Twilight says, embarrassed.

"That's right, Sun said we're able to come. The Great and Powerful Trixie and her best friend, Starlight," Trixie says.

Starlight giggles, "Thanks for announcing it, but remember, it's also to celebrate Twilight winning the science fair for the school."

"True, but your friend Sunburst did win second place for Crystal Prep," Trixie says.

"And I'm glad I was able to see him. He's been busy with school over there and it's a bit difficult to learn at the pace they're going," Starlight says.

"I suppose it is fast paced, but then again, I love to learn and school," Twilight says.

"Let's not worry about boring school and focus on the fun we're going to have," Pinkie says.

"I agree. I hope we haven't kept Sun and the others too long," Fluttershy says.

The group comes to a stop with confused looks on their faces. They see that the group, the food they bring, and even the picnic blanket isn't there anymore.

"Uh… where did Sun and the others go?" Twilight asks.

"And where is the picnic blanket," Fluttershy asks.

"They couldn't have gotten far. Where could they have gone off to," Adagio says, looking around.

Unknown to the girls, Sun and the others are once again, trapped in a situation that has them trapped in another world, and the culprit isn't planning on letting them go back home anytime soon.

In Townville the next day, Sun and the others help the girls and the professor clean up the house a little and make breakfast. Well, Sun, Applejack, and the Professor have done the cooking. When the cleaning and cooking is done, everyone else joins the professor and the two friends for breakfast. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup take a bite of the pancakes with apple cinnamon syrup, it's delicious.

The PPG cheers, "So yummy!"

Then the girls begin to eat their breakfast like no tomorrow. Same goes for Sonata, Rainbow, and Wire Wolf.

Applejack giggles, "Nothing makes me happy then happy mouths."

"Especially since you and Sun did the cooking," Rarity adds.

"Yeah. Applejack and Sun cooking are the best," Rainbow says as she chews.

Rarity sternly says, "Don't talk with your mouth full."

Buttercup swallows her food and says, "Well, we need to finish eating. Who knows when Him is going to show up and make us play his first game."

""Um, if you don't mind me asking, how is he going to let us know what to play?" Wallflower asks.

"He'll let us know one way or another," Buttercup says.

"Yeah. He has ways of letting us know," Bubbles adds.

Suddenly, they hear a strange vibrating sound. Sun is having her breakfast, but stops to hear the vibration sound coming from her bag. She places her fork on the table and takes out her phone.

"Hmm, who can be texting me at this time?" Sun questions.

She opens her phone and looks to see a message from an unknown number.

"What's this?" Sun asks, confused.

"What is it, Sun?" Wallflower asks.

"I got a message from an unknown caller. It says, 'PowerPuff Girls and Rainbooms, our first location is at the Bonsai Garden Park of Little Tokyo Townsville," Sun says.

"But who would…" Blossom about to ask.

But then answers, "Oh wait… this could be another one of Him's little games."

"And it seems that he gave us the location where we need to go for our next game," Wire Wolf says.

Bubbles then becomes confused, "Wait a minute, how did he get Sun's cell phone number?!"

"For some reason, I don't think I want to know," Sun answers.

"Let's finish eating and then continue with this weird contest Him is making do," Rainbow replies, sounding slightly annoyed.

The group continues to eat their breakfast so they can head out to play this game Him set up for them. Sun is still concerned whether or not he has an alternative motive for having them gathered, and still feels that this is more than just a game.

After having breakfast and getting dressed, The PowerPuff Girls along with the Rainbooms are flying over the city. Sun and her friends are able to pony up so they can use their magic to get around. Since Wallflower doesn't have magic or other abilities, Wire Wolf carries her in his arms, that makes her blush a little.

"This is a bit embarrassing," Wallflower says, nervous.

"Don't worry, you don't have to deal with this long. Just enjoy the ride. Although, I don't get why you need to come," Rainbow says.

"Why do you say that?" Sonata asks.

"Because Wallflower doesn't have magic. It will be too dangerous for her, and I don't think that creeps anywhere near her or any of us for that matter," Rainbow says.

"I don't like it either, but Wallflower has been brought here and is part of the team, even when she doesn't have magic. I'm sure she'll be as helpful as the rest of us," Sun says.

"Thanks Sun. I'll do the best I can to help," Wallflower says.

"Like your spirit Wallflower," Rainbow says.

"But remember to be careful, I don't want that guy to do anything bad to you," Applejack says.

"And remember to stay close to us darling," Rarity says.

Wallflower nods her head, "I will."

Blossom points ahead, "There it is. Bonsai Garden."

The group looks down to see the park and descends in front of the park. The park has trees, some lakes, and Japanese style bridges. There is even a Zen Rock Garden.

"Oh my, the park looks very elegant," Rarity says.

"Yeah. I have to say the park is Japanese style," Sun says.

"You'll love it. Maybe when we're finished with the game we can explore and have fun," Bubbles happily says.

"We also know a great place for some lunch," Buttercup adds.

"Well, we might as well get this game over with. The sooner we're done, the sooner we can eat, and not have to worry about that guy," Applejack says.

The group walks inside the park and looks around for the villain who is hosting this game. They walk around the park and so far, haven't found him, or anyone in the park for that matter. They soon find themselves standing in front of a Japanese tea house trying to figure things out.

"Where would a guy with claws for hands supposed to be, he wanted us to be here," Rainbow says.

"I'm sure he's around. He always has ways of showing up in unusual places," Blossom says.

Sun turns her head and suggestions, "Maybe we can ask that man over there."

The group turns to see what looks like a man. The person is wearing a traditional Japanese straw cone hat that is covering his face. Along with red and pink color Japanese style shirts and pants, and wears black boots. He is leaning against the wooden support beam with his head lowered.

"Hmm, why is he wearing those boots. I don't find it to be traditional Japanese style," Rarity says.

"So which of us is going to ask?" Rainbow asks.

"I'll go," Sun answers, and walks over.

Bubbles follows, "I'll go too."

Sun and Bubbles walk to the man in question to see if he knows anything.

Sun asks, "Excuse me sir, can you help us with something?"

"Of course, what would you like to know," A familiar male, and yet female voice answer.

Sun and Bubbles become startled to hear the voice.

"It's you again," Sun says, shocked.

The persona lifts his head to reveal that Him is disguised as a man. This shocked the rest of the two teams to see him here.

"Well, I see that you got my message. Now that you're all here, we can get started with our game," Him says.

"Great," Wire Wolf mutters, gritting his teeth.

Blossom crosses her arms, "Fine. What do we need to do?"

"This game will be a two on two game. Two people from each team have to compete in an Endurance Quiz Game," Him says.

"An Endurance?" Wallflower and Rarity say, confused.

"Quiz Game?" Buttercup and Rainbow say, confused.

"Sounds like the battle of brains if you ask me," Applejack says.

"But what's the endurance part of it?" Sonata asks, confused.

Him then explains, "It's simple, one of the members of your team needs to answer the question I'll give you on these flashcards. Each of you and your teammate will be given the map of the city. One team member has to answer the question while the other teammate will go to the location of your answer. There, the runner will find a red marker. The team to answer all five questions and bring back five markers will win this round." Then uses his magic to make ten flashcards appear in the air.

"Seems interesting," Rarity says, confused.

"Yeah. Looks like you need to be smart and fast," Bubbles says.

Suddenly, Him asks, "So which two team members want to take on this round?"

Sun and the others turn to each other to come up with a plan.

"As much as I hate this, but we still need to play along with his game," Sun says.

"I agree. Sun, you and Twilight are usually the brains, and of course you're our leader. You should be the first teammate on this challenge," Applejack says.

Then Wallflower says, "I remember Sun telling me that she and Rainbow Dash have been given magica that allows them to have incredible speed. So, Rainbow will be the one to explore the city."

"Won't we be at a disadvantage. I mean, the girls know the city better than us," Sonata says.

"Yeah, but I think it just makes it more challenging. I'm sure we'll get the hang of it," Rainbow says.

Blossom and her sisters float over with concern expressions.

"I don't know. I mean, Buttercup and I are doing this event, and well… it's not that we're underestimating you or anything, but…" Blossom says, worried.

"We're totally going to kick your butts in this event," Buttercup says.

"Buttercup!" Blossom angrily scolds.

"That's not nice. Besides, we're just worried about their safety. There are many crooks and villains in Townsville and they can get hurt," Bubbles says.

"Yeah yeah," Buttercup says.

"Don't worry darlings, we have our own share of battling monsters, evil creatures and evil magic, and wild magic," Rarity says.

"Yeah. It's not very new to us, so I think Sun and Rainbow can handle any monster or villains in this city," Wire Wolf says.

"Okay, but remember Rainbow, you'll be running around town, I need you to be careful," Sun says.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful. Besides, what kind of trouble we can get," Rainbow says.

"Yeah. We handle a lot worse than this," Buttercup says.

Unknown to the group, Him makes an evil smirk on his face and has something in mind to make his game more interesting. At least for him anyway.

Not long, Blossom and Buttercup are teammates while Sun and Rainbow are another and have received items from Him for each team: A pair of Walkie talkies, two maps of the city, and the five flashcards.

Before they start, Him says, "Before I forget, you have one hour to complete the game. If you fail to complete the task, you'll lose points."

"So… let's the game begin," Him adds.

With that, Blossom and Buttercup look at their cards while Sun and Rainbow do the same with theirs.

Blossom reads the card, "You'll find the marker is at a place where you can read and borrow books. The marker is in a book that is about Cooking."

"Isn't that the library?" Buttercup asks.

"Um yeah. I guess," Blossom says.

Buttercup says, "I'll get it."

Buttercup then zips off to find the marker at their location.

Meanwhile Sun reads her clue, "The marker is sitting on the desk of a person who will help kids learn, but for kids around five."

"Kids around five? That sounds like a kindergarten class," Rainbow says.

Sun takes out the map, "I think it is."

Sun looks at the map and sees a location, "There. The marker must be on the teacher's desk in the Pokey Oaks Kindergarten."

"Then I gotta go fast," Rainbow says.

She then zips off as she takes her map.

Buttercup is able to reach the Townsville Library and hurries inside and find the Cooking section of the library. Buttercup then uses her X-Ray vision and looks around for the book. Finally, Buttercup is able to find the first marker inside on the top shelf. Buttercup flies up and takes the marker out of the shelf. The marker is red and has a pink heart on it.

"Got it," Buttercup says to herself.

Buttercup brings out the walkie talkie, "Blossom, I got the first marker. What's the next clue?"

On Blossom's end, she reads the next card, "You'll find the marker the volcano of an island of the monsters' domain."

Then says, "That's easy, it's Monster Isle."

"You got it," Buttercup says.

Then Blossom says, "Okay, but be careful. You'll be going up against a lot of monsters there."

"You act like I haven't kicked any monsters' butts before," Buttercup says, and flies off to get her second marker.

Hearing the conversation, Wallflower asks, "There's really an Isle where monsters live?"

"If Rainbow heard about this, she'll definitely like to fight there," Applejack says.

"Yeah. She'll think Buttercup is the lucky one," Sonata says.

The girls then begin to giggle.

Meanwhile, Rainbow is able to find a pink building that has the sign 'Pokey Oaks Kindergarten' at the front.'

"Well, looks like this is the place," Rainbow says.

She then walks inside to see the place is practically empty. Except a woman with short black hair wearing a red vest, an orange dress is sitting at the desk.

Rainbow walks over and asks, "Um excuse me, mam."

The woman turns her head to notice Rainbow Dash and smiles, "Oh, hello. My name is Ms. Keane. It's nice to meet you."

"Um yeah. It's nice to meet. I'm Rainbow Dash and well, I'm playing this game and you haven't seen a red marker?" Rainbow replies.

"You mean this one. I just found it on my desk and don't really know what it is, but you can have it," The woman, Ms. Keane says.

"Thanks. You wouldn't happen to be Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup's teacher?" Rainbow replies and takes the marker.

The red marker is a red circle that has their Rainboom's symbol on it.

"Oh, I see you met the girls, they are wonderful angels, and they are super heroic," Ms. Keane says.

"Yeah. I kind of saw them in action the other day. I need to get going, but I'll let the girls know you say hi," Rainbow says.

"Thank you. I hope to see you again," Ms. Keane says.

"We'll see," Rainbow says.

Then leaves the school.

Rainbow talks to Sun with the walkie talkie, "Sun, I got the marker. And I met the girls' teacher too. She's nice."

"Sounds cool. I'll read you the second one. It says, 'You'll find the marker in a place where people can buy jewels and accessories," Sun says, through her end.

Then she thinks, "Maybe you should try a jewelry store."

"On it," Rainbow says.

Rainbow speeds down the streets as she looks at the map. Luckily, she is able Jewelry store in this short amount of time. Rainbow then sees another marker that is on a case that has a bracelet. The bracelet is gold that has shimmering blue diamonds on it.

Rainbow grabs the marker and says, "Two down three to go."

Rainbow brings out her walkie talkie, "Read me the next clue girl."

"Okay. The clue says, "You'll find a marker that is under a jar that is a very salty cucumber. It will be in a building that is white and where the mayor stands," sun says.

"I'm having trouble picturing where that will be," Rainbow says.

"I'll see what I can figure out," sun says.

"Yeah. I don't know how far the girls got to and," Rainbow says, but suddenly trips and falls to the ground.

She sits up and yells, "Ow!"

Rainbow looks at her hand to see she still has the marker and walkie talkie in her hands, "Glad I still got these still.

Sun asks, "Rainbow, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just… huh?" Rainbow says, turning around.

When Rainbow turns around, she sees that some kind of black rope is coiled around her ankle.

"What is that?" Rainbow asks.

The thing then uncoils her ankle and retracts back to the source. Rainbow is stunned to see the owner of the strange rope is actually attached to her head. Her black hair moves on her head like snakes. She has a pale white face with green eyes, and wears some kind of dark red outfit with long gloves, thigh-high boots, leotards, red fishnets stocking and black pantyhose under it.

The woman smirks and says, "Sorry little girl, but it seems that you're in the way of my little shoplifting spree."
