Chapter 5: Quiz of Endurance Part 2

On Monster Isle, Buttercup is able to defeat the many monsters that come to attack her and reach towards the beach of the island. She is holding her second marker and looks a bit beaten.

Buttercup sighs in relief, "Phew, what was a tight spot. I managed to get the marker and I got the marker."

She then brings out her walkie talkie, "Yo Blossom, I got the second marker."

"Good work Buttercup, but are you okay?" Blossoms asks from the other line.

Back in the Bonsai garden, Blossom brings out the card and begins to read it to Buttercup. At the same time, Bubbles and the rest of Sun's friends are watching the event.

"I must admit, this is kind of interesting," Sonata says.

"Yeah, but they get to have all the fun while the rest of us have to remain here," Rarity says.

"Yeah. I'm a little bored," Bubbles says.

"I wonder how Sun and Rainbow are doing. I can't get the feeling something's up," Wire Wolf replies.

Sun places the Walkie talkie close to her and asks, "Hey Rainbow, are you okay?"

Suddenly, Sun and the others soon hear Rainbow Dash screaming from her end of the device.

Sun quickly asks, "Hey! What's going on?!"

Back in the jewellery store, Rainbow Dash moves out of the way as the snake-like hair whips at her by the strange woman. As Rainbow moves back, the woman continues to attack her.

Rainbow demands, "Who are you?! Why are you attacking me?!"

"The name is Sedusa my dear, but you're in my little gem collecting," The woman, Sedusa says.

"Yeah. As much as I like to win, I'm not going to allow you to rob the place," Rainbow says.

"Oh really," Sedusa says in a remark.

She then evilly smirks, "I'm up to play a game little girl, but you're going to get your hair deeply tangled!"

Sedusa then begins to attack her with her hair. Rainbow uses her speed to dodge the attack. Meanwhile, Sun is hearing the fight going on as Wire Wolf and the girls hurry over.

"Hey Sun, what's going on?" Applejack asks.

"Is Rainbow Dash in trouble?" Wallflower asks.

"She is. I can hear what's going on. Apparently, a woman who called herself Sedusa was at the Jewelry store hoping to rob it," Sun answers.

"Sedusa!" Blossom and Bubbles say in shock.

Wire Wolf turns to the girls, "You know her?"

"We do. She's a villain that we fought at Townsville and causes trouble. She is also good at disguising herself," Blossom says.

Then Bubbles says, "And her hair moves around like they're snakes."

"Then it's not good that Rainbow ends up getting tangled with her, we gotta help her," Sun says and stands up on her feet as she takes the map.

"Where are you going, darling?" Rarity asks.

"I gotta help Rainbow Dash," Sun says and begins to head off.

But before she can, Him appears in front of her, "Ah ah ah. I'm afraid that you can't leave and help your friend."

"Why no?" Sun asks.

"Well, only the ones who are in this race are allowed to go into the field, teammates can't help one another in close range. So I'm afraid that you are unable to leave," Him says with a grin.

"You waited until now to tell us?" Applejack asks, not pleased.

"Slip my mind," Him remarks.

Then adds, "Besides, this could be a good challenge for your friend. It's all part of the game."

"You mean you planned for one of the PowerPuff Girls enemies to attack one of us?" Rarity asks.

"Actually, think of it as one of the unexpected surprises you'll find in this town," Him says.

Wire Wolf grits his teeth in anger, "This guy has a sick sense of humor."

Sun turns to the walkie talkie, "Rainbow, you might have to deal with Sedusa on your own. Turns out, I'm not allowed to help you on the field, but simply talk to you."

"He waited until now to tell us that?" Rainbow asks, through her end of the device.

"Afraid so. I know it will be hard, but try to stop Sedusa from robbing the Jewelry store and take her to prison. Then we can continue with the game," Sun says.

Rainbow smirks, "Knew you decided to stop criminals instead of winning the game and allowing the crook to get away."

"Glad you and I agree, but you need to be careful. We don't know Sedusa like the girls do, so you're going to need to act quickly and then play the game," Sun says.

"Sounds good to me. One bad guy beating coming up," Rainbow says.

Back in the Jewelry Store, Rainbow Dash then uses the magic of her geode to transform that only to gain her wings, pony ears, and extended hair.

Sedusa is stunned, "What?"

"Sorry lady, but I got a race to win. And well, I don't want you to cause me and my friends any trouble," Rainbow says.

Sedusa smirks and says, "We'll see about that, Skittles."

"What did you just call me?" Rainbow asks, feeling offended.

"Skittles, because of your rainbow hair color. You're not the only one with unique hair," Sedusa says.

Sedusa then uses her hair like a whip to attack Rainbow. Rainbow uses her speed to dodge and Sedusa's hair continues to strike at the cabinet and shelves of the Jewelry store. Sedusa uses her hair to attack the front of Rainbow and grabs her by the wrist. She then swings Rainbow to the wall and she falls to the ground.

Rainbow groans as she sits up, "That chick has some insane hair, and I thought Pinkie can do crazy things with her hair."

Rainbow yelps and quickly dodge before Sedusa's hair can strike at her. Rainbow continues to dodge the attack and is able to strike back at Sedusa with a kick from her foot.

Rainbow thinks, "I gotta find a way to stop that wild hair. I know back when Pinkie's hair isn't poofy when it's flatten or… WET!"

Rainbow turns to see Sedusa and dodges the attack.

Rainow says to herself, "Alright, gotta get her hair wet somehow, so there should be a hydrant around here."

Rainbow turns to see the windows of the store and see the Hydrant. Rainbow smirks and then speeds to Sedusa and she aims her hair at her with full force. Rainbow quickly jumps over Sedusa's hair. Then uses her spin dash to knock one of the hydrant's side nozzles. The Nozzle sprays the water directly at Sedusa and she is pushed into the store and slams into the wall. Rainbow quickly uses her speed to bring a wrench and seal the hydrant up with the cap and wrench.

Rainbow sighs, "That was close."

Then turns to see Sedusa wet and knocked out, "Now to take you to jail and finish this game."

Rainbow makes sure she has the two markers and the walkie talkie in her pocket. Then with her super speed, she takes Sedusa to jail and speeds off to continue the game.

Rainbow talks to Sun through the Walkie Talkie, "Hey Sun, I beat Sedusa and took her to jail."

"That's good to hear. I was starting to worry while hearing the fighting noise," Sun says.

"Don't worry. I took care of that chick and we can continue the game," Rainbow says.

"So did you find out where the next clue is?" Rainbow asks.

"Yes. It should be in City Hall so you should head there," Sun says.

"Yeah. And let's speed this off. Thanks to Sedusa, I'm sure I lost a little time," Rainbow says.

With that, Sun and Blossom continue to send Rainbow Dash and Buttercup clues for the game. Rainbow is able to find a marker under a Pickle jar in the Mayor's office. Because of the incident with Sedusa, Buttercup has already gotten the other two markers and needs to find one more. Sun and Rainbow work fast and Sun is able to tell her where two more of the markers are.

As the game continues, Rainbow Dash is able to find the last marker on top of the shelf in the marketplace. Meanwhile, Buttercup is able to find her last marker at the mall in one of the stores. Soon, it's a race against time and each other. Rainbow and Buttercup see that they don't only have five minutes left before their hour is up. And soon, the girls find themselves racing against each other.

"Hey Buttercup, see you found all your five markers?" Rainbow replies.

"I'll bet you do as well," Buttercup says.

Rainbow laughs with a grin, "You know it."

Buttercup says, "Okay Rainbow girl, the last one to make it back to the finish line is a rotten egg."

"You're on," Rainbow says.

With that, Rainbow Dash and Buttercup continue their race back to Bonsai Garden. Back the gardens, The Rainbooms and the PowerPuff Girls are waiting for Buttercup and Rainbow to return from their race.

Applejack looks at the entrance, "I don't see them and time is almost up."

"Maybe we should go look for them?" Bubbles suggests.

Wallflower notices, "I don't think we need to worry about that anymore."

Everyone looks towards the streets outside of the park and notice Rainbow and Buttercup are running in their direction super fast. The next moment, but a split second and little inches, Buttercup crosses the finish line first and with Rainbow Dash close behind. The two take deep breaths as they feel tired from their competition.

Buttercup cheers, "Ha! Looks like you're the rotten egg!"

"Maybe today, but it was awesome racing against you. Haven't had this kind of awesome race in a while," RAinbow says.

"Thanks. And you're pretty cool," Buttercup says.

"Thanks, "Rainbow says.

The both girls did a fist bump.

Blossom, Sun, and the others walk to the two girls.

"Well all be all, someone is actually able to beat Rainbow in a race," Applejack says.

"You both were really fast," Bubbles says.

"Yep. Looks like the PowerPuff Girls won this round," Buttercup says.

"Yeah. And I think I would have finished faster if I didn't get tangled with that weird chick in the red underwear," Rainbow says.

"You ran into Sedusa?" Buttercup asks, shocked.

"Yep. Don't worry, took care of her and sent her to jail," Rainbow says.

Sun then notices something in Rainbow's arm, "Hey Rainbow, what you got there?"

Rainbow then shows Sun and the others a jar of pickles.

"Yeah. I ran into the mayor while I was at city hall and decided to give me some. I told him I was friends with the girls and said I can share it with them," Rainbow says.

Then turns to the three sisters, "By the way, I ran into your teacher. She wanted me to tell you she said hi."

Suddenly, they hear a weird noise and turn their heads to see the scoreboard has appeared again and tally up the score. It has the score from their first event in a different column. Now it's revealing the points from today's event. The PowerPuff Girls have earned 2300 pts and the Rainbooms earned 1900 pts from the event. The Rainbooms have a total of 4900 pts while the PowerPuff Girls have 4800 pts.

"Hmm, we're still a little behind, but we're getting there," Blossom says.

"Yeah. We may still be in the lead, but you three are getting there," Wire Wolf says.

Sun says, "But this isn't the end of the game, we still have a few more before we can get out of here."

"And to see if Him as anything else planned, "Buttercup replies.

"And hopefully he doesn't have any more surprises for us to deal with," Applejack says.

Suddenly, Him appears in the middle of their circle with a grin on his face, "Well, it seems that you all had a grand time with your little scavenger hunt."

"I wouldn't call being attacked by some crazy chick with long snake-like hair fun," Rainbow says, annoyed.

"Why didn't you tell them that they'll end up running into villains in Townsville?" Blossom sternly demands.

"I figured you would tell them. Plus, the idea might have slipped. It's not my fault the others have their own little agenda," Him says.

"You could at least tell us something about us having to fight super villains," Wire Wolf says, annoyed.

"Yeah," Wallflower replies.

"Don't worry, the next game will be more fun," Him says.

"For us, or for him?" Buttercup mutters.

"I agree," Rainbow replies.

Sun groans and thinks, "Why do I get the feeling that Him knew that we'll be meeting supervillains in this city and didn't tell us on purpose. Either way, I need to stay cool and wait to see what this next game he wants us to be a part of.
