Chapter 6: Rainbow Pinball

Soon enough, Him has teleported himself, the PowerPuff Girls, and the Rainbooms to a video game arcade. Surprisingly, there's no one in the arcade at all, the place is deserted. To the two teams' surprise, the next game that Him wants them to play is a…

"A Pinball machine?" Buttercup says, confused.

Indeed it is, the group are standing in front of a pinball machine that has a rainbow on the top of the game. Inside the machine are ramps, bumpers, and bumper switches. There are also some bumpers that are flowers and they are in seven different colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. The scoreboard is on the screen on the top of the machine. There are also seven slots and above it shows the seven colors of the rainbow.

"You mean to tell us our next game is a Pinball machine," Rainbow says.

"But I thought you like Pinball games, Rainbow?" Sonata says.

"I do, but I like a bit more of a challenge," Rainbow says.

"You might want to be careful what you say," Bubbles says.

"Why?" Wallflower asks, confused.

"Let's just say that this isn't going to be a normal game of pinball," Blossom says.

"Let me guess, this Pinball is going to come to life and attack us or something," Wire Wolf bluntly says.

Him chuckles and says, "No. However, the next game that you all have to work together to gain all the colors of the rainbows. The team will earn points depending on how you do in the game."

"So first you said that it will be two separate teams, but now you're saying that all of us have to be merged into one," Blossom says, confused.

"And how exactly are we all going to play the game, only one person is able to play?" Rarity adds.

"You'll see," Him remarks with a grin.

With a flick of his wrist and a twirl of his claw, pink smoke begins to circle around the two teams and soon find themselves in a tornado. The tornado then flies inside the Pinball machine, taking the gang with them.

The next moment, The Rainbooms and the PowerPuff Girls wake up to find themselves feeling dizzy from their unexpected spin. The three sisters even hit the ground feeling dizzy.

Sun rubs her head and asks, "What just happened?"

"I don't know, my head feels dizzy," Sonata replies, rubbing her head.

Wire Wolf looks around to notice something, "Uh guys…. where are we?"

The group looks around to see that they're not in the arcade anymore. What I see are different colors of flowers on small rods. They also see ramps, bumpers and other strange objects.

"What in tarnation is going on here?" Applejack asks.

"If I didn't know better, I say that this looks like the inside of that Pinball machine," Sun suspects.

"That is exactly right," Him's voice replies.

Everyone looks up and gasps in shock to see a strange window over them and Him is humongous.

"He's huge!" Bubbles panics.

"No Bubbles, we're small! Him trapped us in the Pinball machine," Blossom says.

Concern, Wallflower asks, "Um, is it even safe?"

"Why do I get the feeling that he doesn't plan on making this safe for us?" Rarity asks, concerned.

"You can say that again," Buttercup mutters.

Rainbow says, "Relax, all we have to do is to get all the colors into those slots and we'll be out of here in no time."

"Okay, but in order to win, we need to get all seven colors and we only get seven tries," Sun says.

"I'm with Rainbow, this is going to be a snap," Buttercup says, and makes a snap with her fingers.

"Oh, you think it will be easy. How about I give you a demonstration," Him says with a grin on his face.

He uses his claw to grab a hold of the handle and pulls it back. Then let it go that causes the spring to be pressed forward and create a light pulse out and bounces off a mirror. Then goes through a prism and aims head straight toward Sun and the others.

Rainbow panics, "Incoming!"

Everyone moves out of the way as the light begins to hit the mirrors in a panic. They continue to run in a panic as the color lights bounce off the mirrors and the colors. However, some either hit the wall or hit the different colors of flowers.

Applejack turns her head and calls out, "Wallflower! Look out!"

Wallflower turns her head to see a green light flying towards her. Wallflower tries to run, but the green light bounces off of her head and flies into the green slot. The machine makes a beeping sound and the green color of the rainbow lights up. The group turn to see that they end up with the green, and the Rainbooms earn points.

Blossom sighs in relief, "Phew! That was close!"

"Yeah. Those colors came out of nowhere and flew out like shooting stars," Applejack says.

"And they fly really fast too," Rainbow says.

Bubbles looks at the screen, "But look, we got the green color."

Sun walks over to Wallflower and asks, "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay. I thought that color was going to hit me on the head or something, but it actually didn't hurt," Wallflower says, and blushes a little.

"True, but I think I understand what we need to do for this game," Sun says.

Blossom says, "I think I know it too. When the green color bounces off of Wallflower's green hair, it bounces and goes into the green slot."

"But when the other colors didn't hit the right colors or the wall, they disappeared. And yet, they bounce off the mirrors as well," Sun says.

Rarity says, "So what we need to do is to match the color lights to the color flowers and what we have around us. That way, we can bounce the colors to the slots."

"Exactly. We just need to decide which color we need to get and have them travel to the different slots," Blossom says.

Wire Wolf says, "We can try doing the same for yellow. Bubbles and Applejack have yellow color hair so we can use those and the flowers."

Bubbles asks, "Will it hurt?"

"It didn't seem to hurt me when the green light hit me, so I think it's fine," Wallflower says.

"I quite agree. Might I suggest we try to get Violet too," Rarity replies.

"Sounds good to me," Applejack says.

"Alright gang, let's set up and get ready for another go," Blossom says.

Everyone nods their heads in reply.

"Alright, Bubbles, Applejack, and Rarity we need you to help bounce off yellow and violet. The rest of us will move the mirrors and the color flowers so the colors can get by," Sun says.

Sun and the others get to stair stations, Rainbow, Sonata, and Wire Wolf move the mirrors while Sun, Wallflower, Buttercup, and Blossom move the color flowers to a certain location. Unknown to the groups, Him is watching them set up and decide to pull the spring back and then let go, making the colors go.

One of the colors hit Rainbow's head and bounces off, "Woah!"

"Those colors are sure fast," Applejack says.

Then some of the colors hit the bumpers and bounced off. Then hit the mirrors. So far, orange and Indigo disappear when they hit the wrong colors, but the violet, blue, and yellow continue to keep going.

Sun turns to Blossom, "Here comes yellow!"

"Right," Blossom says.

Sun and Blossom turn the yellow flower bumper, allowing the yellow to bounce off. Then the yellow hits Bubbles on the head. Finally, the yellow light goes in the yellow slot. So, they're able to get yellow.

Buttercup pushes the violet flower, "Now to get the purple, violet, whatever."

Suddenly, Him uses his claw to press a button on the side making the flower move with Buttercup on it. Buttercup screams to be pulled. The violet hits the wall and disappears.

Sun turns her head, "What happened?"

"I don't know. This stupid flower moved on it's own," Buttercup angrily says.

Unknown to Sun, the red light flies towards Sun and hits her on the back of the head, knocking her down.

"Ow!" Sun yelp.

Then the red one bounces into a mirror where Wire Wolf is and then it goes inside the red slot. As a result, they are able to get red and yellow.

Sonata cheers, "Yippie, we're able to get yellow and red."

"But weren't we trying to get violet?" Bubbles asks.

"We were until this flower moved and made me miss," Buttercup angrily says, and slightly kicks it.

"We still were able to get two more colors and we still need to get four more. But it won't matter if we don't get all the colors," Sun says.

"Sun is right. We may not be able to get violet, but we made up for it by getting red. We just need to come up with another plan," Wire Wolf says.

"Yeah. And we better do it quickly before Him decides to launch another Rainbow stream of lights at us," Buttercup says.

"Okay so let's try to get violet," Rarity says.

"Okay, but let's try to get orange too," Rainbow says.

"Then let's get to work," Blossom says.

Bubbles giggles, "We're going to have some fun."

"Especially when we win this game," Buttercup says.

Blossom rolls her eyes, "Don't try to sound confident. We're playing these games with Him watching our every move. He'll do anything to make this less easy for us."

"Yeah," Bubbles says.

"Sounds like you played his type of games before?" Wallflower replies.

"You have no idea," Buttercup replies.

The PowerPuff Girls And the Rainbooms begins to set up for the game. They move the Violet and Orange flowers and mirrors to certain locations so they can score in the slots. Of course, Him launches the colors and decides to press the buttons on the side to make things less easy for them.

"Here they come," Rainbow calls out.

Everyone quickly gets to their stations, but Him has a few tricks up his sleeve. With the presses of the buttons, the mirror, flowers begin to move in different directions. At the same time, the colors either disappear or end up hitting the bumpers and other locations that have mirrors. It's been going on for a few more turns. Luckily, they are able to get six of the colors of the rainbow. Yet, they only need to get one more color, and they only end up with one more try. Sun and her friends gather together to come up with a plan.

"Alright guys, we're doing good so far, despite some of the setbacks," Sun says.

"I don't know if they were setbacks, but Him has made this game harder than it looks," Applejack says.

Sonata rubs her head, "Yeah. And I hit my head on one of those bumpers and fell to the ground."

"I have to agree, is that even part of the rules?" Rarity questions.

"Something tells me that he decided to not tell us about the bumpers and stuff on purpose," Rainbow says.

"I think it is to be expected. We're all in a pinball game after all," Blossom says.

"You can say that again," Buttercup says.

Sun says, "Still, we still only have one turn and we need to get the Indigo color into the slot."

"So we only have one chance," Blossom says.

"And I don't think we have anything that's indigo… do we?" Wallflower replies.

"No, we don't. I think our only chance is to use the flowers that are indigo and the mirror so that way, we can bounce it into the slot and complete the rainbow," Sun says.

With that, everyone begins to move the Indigo flowers and the mirrors around so they can be positioned in the right spot. Just then, the rainbow has been launched and spread across the area. Of course, the mirrors and the flowers begin to move, but this time, Sun and the others use their strength to keep them from moving. The Indigo light continues to bounce off the mirror and flowers that are the same color as it. With bouncing off the last mirror, the Indigo light goes into the indigo slot and completes the seven colors of the rainbow.

"Alright, we did it!" Rainbow says.

"Yeah. We totally beat that game," Buttercup says.

The two then give each other a high five.

"That was too close. I thought that mirror was going to push us away or something," Applejack says.

"Indeed," Rarity says.

Suddenly, everyone disappears from the pinball machine and appears back in the arcade. The two groups feel dizzy from the teleportation.

"I wish he would stop doing that," Wire Wolf says.

"Me too," Sonata says, feeling dizzy.

Him says with a grin, "Well now, you all did a good job, hope you all have a ball."

"I wouldn't call being hit in the head fun," Sonata says.

"Well, you all are done for the day and tomorrow is another day and another game for any one to win," Him says.

On the screen it shows that both the PowerPuff Girls and the Rainbooms are tied for the Pokeball game, yet the Rainbooms are still ahead. The group then notices Him has disappeared.

"At least we're done for the day," Wallflower says.

"True, but tomorrow we're going to have to play another one of his games," Rainbow says.

"You can say that again. And we need to be extra careful with playing another one of Him's games," Blossom says.

"Yeah. I hate to think what his next one is," Sun says.

Soon, Bubbles' tummy begins to rumble, "I'm kind of hungry."

"Yeah. I kind of am myself," Applejack says.

"We could all use something to eat," Wire Wolf says.

"We know the best place to eat," Blossom says.

The gang decides to leave to get something to eat. Unknown to them, Him has another trick up his sleeve for tomorrow, and they have no clue what his real intentions are.
