Chapter 8: Final Round: Obstacle Bake Off Course

The next day is the final day of Him's game and hopefully the Rainbooms are able to return home. The Powerpuff Girls and the Rainbooms find themselves in a large studio building with different obstacles. Round pillars that spin around, long logs, ropes, monkey bars, slides, and even some balancing beams. There are also some pillars that have different food like eggs, milk, butter, and all kinds of them. The course is standing over a giant pool of whipped cream. On the other side of the course, is a large kitchen with two different kitchen stations each of them have the same items: a stove, oven, drawers with utensils and cooking supplies, bowls, plates, mixers, and more.

The Rainbooms and the PowerPuff Girls are shocked to see the room.

"So this is the final event?" Rainbow asks.

"It looks really tricky to get through. Kind of reminds me of the sport-a-thon we had to do for the Friendship Games," Applejack says.

"Yeah. But it looks like we'll have to go run all the way through the obstacle courses," Rarity says.

"So what, we can use our powers to get through that course. It will be a snap," Buttercup says.

"Then why is there whipped cream at the bottom of the pool," Bubbles asks.

"Well, I for one am not planning on falling into that. I'll get my clothes dirty and I hate getting dirty." Rarity says.

"That makes two of us," Blossom comments.

"I think we need to go through the obstacle course and when we're done, we'll need to make something with the food items on those pillars," Sun says.

"It looks like one of those game shows we see on television," Sun says

"Yeah. I remember watching one of my favorite game shows that looks like it. What's it called Splash in or something," Rainbow says.

"Yeah. So um, how are we going to do this? The PowerPuff Girls have three plays and the Rainbooms have seven," Wallflower asks.

"I'm sure it will work out. I wonder how this game is supposed to work," Sun says, curious about the game they're going to play.

Suddenly, Him appears between the two teams, freaking them out.

"Will you quit doing that?!" Applejack angrily asks.

"Yeah. It's not nice to poof out from nowhere," Bubbles adds.

"Oh, nut where's the fun in that?" Him remarks.

"How about you just explain to us what the last round of the game we need to do?" Sun asks.

"Sounds to me that you're all ready to play. The rules are simple. For the PowerPuff Girls, only two of their teammates will go through the obstacle course and only one member will be at the cooking station. For the Rainbooms, only three will be at the cooking station while the rest compete in the obstacle course," Him explains.

Then says, "The teams will go through the obstacle course and gather the ingredients for the recipes the chefs will have to cook. At the same time, there are other ingredients that aren't on the obstacle course in the kitchen so you also have some options of what you could make. You all will choose which teammate will go to which station, but the recipe will be chosen from a paper in this hat."

Then make a top hat taper and it has multiple folded pieces of paper inside.

Sun turns to Applejack, "Applejack, you should be stationed at the kitchen. You're one of the best cooks on the team."

"You got it sugarcube, but I'm going to need some assistance," Applejack says.

Sonata walks over, "I'm on board with the cooking station."

"Great. I'll go on the obstacle course," Rainbow says.

"I'll take the course on as well," Wire Wolf says.

Sun says, "I'll go on the course as well."

"Um… mind if I… uh, go on the obstacle course too," Wallflower asks, raising her hand.

"Sure," Sun says.

"Then I'll help Applejack and Sonata in the kitchen," Rarity says.

"I'll be in charge of the kitchen. Bubbles, Buttercup. You both go on the obstacle course," Blossom says.

"You got it," Buttercup says.

"Yay," Bubbles happily says.

"Sounds like we're ready to play," Blossom says.

Suddenly, Him says, "Oh and before I forget two other rules. One: you all are now permitted to use any of your powers or magical abilities. And two: if any of you fall into the pool of whipped cream then you'll be instantly teleported to the starting line and start all over."

Then says, "Let the games begin!"

With that, the PowerPuff Girls and the Rainbooms hurry to the floating top hat close by. Applejack and Blossom stick their hand inside the hat and take out a piece of paper. Then they hurry to their teammates.

Blossom opens hers, "We're making a strawberry shortcake. Bubbles and Buttercup, start getting the ingredients, while I look in the pantry to see what we have."

"Right," Bubbles and Buttercup say.

Applejack then shows the paper they got to the others.

"Cinnamon rolls. Great. I know a great recipe for apple cinnamon rolls," Applejack says.

"Then we'll get the stuff while you three look in the kitchen for anything good for it," Wire Wolf says.

Sun, Wallflower, Wire Wolf, and Rainbow Dash head to the obstacle course while Applejack, Rarity, and Sonata head to the kitchen.

On the obstacle course, the Rainbooms and the PowerPuff Girl race on it to gain some of their ingredients. It seems it's big enough so that only one can go at a time. The Rainbooms are the first to hurry to begin the course. Then the PowerPuff Girls.

At the kitchen, Rarity, Applejack, and Sonata bring out the bowls, utensils, and some of the ingredients they are able to abstain. Blossom does the same.

The rest of the two teams continue to race across the course to get the ingredients. The first ingredient is on a high pillar. Since they can't use their abilities, Wire Wolf and Rainbow decide to take care of it. Rainbow runs to Wire Wolf and he helps her boost up. Rainbow is able to grab the edge of the pillar and reach the ingredients. When Rainbow grabs the sugar, it teleports on to a separate table for the ingredients. Bubbles and Buttercup do the same and gather the sugar.

Throughout the competition the two teams on the obstacle course travel through the obstacle course. There are some mishaps. Wire Wolf and Bubbles end up falling into the whipped cream when a giant fake wrecking ball hits them. They end up having to go back at the beginning. The gang continues to travel though the course. After a few falls into the whipped cream and helping each other get through the course, they are able to get a lot of the ingredients: sugar, eggs, milk, butter, flour. As Wallflower joins the team, something inside her pocket begins to glow bright and it hasn't been noticed by anyone yet.

As the ingredients are being teleported, Blossom, and the rest of the Rainbooms begin to work on their dessert. Sun and Wallflower are also able to climb tall stairs to reach the last ingredients they need for their rolls. At the same time, Bubbles and Buttercup also gain their last ingredients. The two teams then hurry across the course, despite ending up having to start from the beginning a few times. They are able to reach the end and see their teammates working on the rest of the rolls.

Soon enough, the Rainbooms are almost finished shaping their dessert, cinnamon rolls. Applejack then brings out a shaker that is full of cinnamon rolls.

Applejack says, "Now for the finishing touch."

She then shakes the shaker and cinnamon falls out onto the rolls.

"Hmmm, they look so good," Sonata says, eagerly.

"I agree, but y'all can't eat it yet. We need to put it in the oven and then we have Him try it," Applejack says.

Suddenly, they hear the PowerPuff Girls cheer, "We're ready!"

The Rainbooms turn their heads to see the PowerPuff Girls are finished getting their ingredients together too.

"Now all we need to do is put this in the oven, and we can get the icing and decorations made so we can decorate," Blossom says.

"The cake looks yummy," Buttercup says.

"Yeah. And it seems the Rainbooms are ready too," Bubbles says.

"I guess so, but we need to have our desserts in the oven before we can eat it," Buttercup says.

Just then, both perimeters on both ovens are set off.

Sun says, "Alright, time to put the cinnamon rolls in the oven."

"Now it's time to put the cake in the oven," Bubbles happily says.

Unknown to the two teams, Him has another trick up his sleeve. His eyes begin to glow red as a magical aura begins to possess the two batters of desserts. Both teams become stunned to see what is happening.

"What's going on?" Bubbles asks.

"I don't know, but I don't like it," Buttercup answers.

"What in tarnation?!" Applejack exclaims.

Just then, the cinnamon rolls fuse together and jump in the air. The cake batter does the same. Both unready desserts collide together and begin to take a monstrous form.

"What is that?!" Rainbow exclaims.

"I don't know, but I have to say, this is not a good thing," Rarity nervously says.

Just then, the monster sends strings of batter and reaches the Rainbooms' necks, except for Sun and Wallflower. One by one, the monster's batter grabs their necklaces and they seep the magic out from their bodies. Then pull the necklaces away.

"What did that thing just?!" Wire Wolf asks.

Suddenly, the Rainbooms who have their magic taken are swatted by the monster and falls to the ground. Sun quickly ducks her head as she pushes Wallflower and herself to the ground. Suddenly, it also whacks the PowerPuff Girls and they slam to the wall. Then falls to the ground. The girls roan as the monster begins to approach them and attempt to do something terrible to them.

Him chuckles and says, "This worked out better than I planned. Now that my monsters have obtained the Rainbooms' powers, getting rid of the PowerPuff Girls will be a piece of cake."

Suddenly, someone shouts, "Stop it!"

Soon, the PowerPuff Girls are shocked to see Sun having her arms spread out and is protecting them from the monster.

"I won't allow you to hurt the girls," Sun says.

The monster simply stars at her and soon begins to melt a bit. Sun and the girls along with her friends become confused to see the monster's reaction.

Applejack sighs, "That was close."

"Speak for yourself. That monster took my geode," Rarity says, upset.

Suddenly, "And that is just the beginning."

Sun and the others look up to see Him is floating over the monster.

"I don't understand. What are you doing?" Sun asks.

Him snickers and says, "Oh Sun, do you really think I simply drag you here without another agenda in mind. Of course you all suspected I had my own intention, but couldn't figure out why you were here."

"So you are up to something," Blossom angrily says.

Then Buttercup says, "Is that why you have the Rainbooms brought here?"

"My plan is the main reason why they were brought here," Him says.

Then says in a sinister male voice, "In order to destroy you PowerPuff Girls!"

"Destroy them!" Sun exclaims.

Suddenly, the monster throws strings of batter and they begin to wrap around Sun like snakes coiling their prey. Then lifts her in the air. Then begins to squeeze her hard that Sun begins to struggle to break free.

Wallflower panics, "Sun!"

"Sun!" The PowerPuff Girls and the Rainboom cry out in shock.

"I'll get her," Rainbow says.

But when she tries to use her magic, her wings and tail and her ears aren't appearing.

"What? Why can't I use my magic?" Rainbow asks.

Wire Wolf and the others try to use their magical powers or at least pony up, but they're unable to do anything.

"Our magic is gone!" Rarity panics.

Sun continues to scream in agony until she falls into unconsciousness.

"Well now, it looks like I'm the one who won this round, and soon, I will destroy you PowerPuff Girls and you meddling Rainbooms," Him says.

Wire Wolf confronts him, "You were after our magic all long weren't you. This whole event of the games was just a distraction so you can steal our magic."

"Yes. The games were set up to see how the Rainboom can use their magic and have you against the PowerPuff Girls. Never knew that the Rainbooms are equally matched, which is all too perfect to take your magic. Of course, the geodes you have are only part of what I really want, including from your other friends," Him says.

"You're going after the rest of the Rainbooms magic?" Bubbles asks shocked.

"Exactly. And once I have all the geodes. I'll use it on my real prize," Him adds, and turns to Sun.

The groups are shocked to hear this.

"You mean… you were after Sun and her magic all along?" Wallflower asks, shocked.

"And you need the rest of the Rainbooms geodes and magic to increase more power," Wire Wolf angrily says.

"You guessed right, but now, I win," Him says.

Him then uses his magic to control the monster and the monster places Sun on his chest. Then Sun is pulled inside before she is able to reach.

"Sun!" The PPG and the Rainbooms scream in dismay.

Him then changes into a puff of pink smoke and merges into the monster. Soon, the battered monster begins to change form. The monster becomes large and the color changes to a red color. It grows a very long neck, sharp teeth, a spiky tail, and a monstrous formation.

The PowerPuff Girls and the Rainbooms are shocked to see Him has transformed himself into a giant sized three headed dragon with a spiky tail, and very sharp claws. Two of them breathed fire. The left head is wearing Applejac, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash's geode, the right head is wearing Wire Wolf and Sonata's geode. The center head is wearing an orb necklace around his neck and trapped inside is Sun who is unconscious on her knees as two black thorn covered vines coil her arms and some of the upper part of her body. This spells trouble for both Townsville and also for Canterlot City.
