~~~Cybertron- years ago
Ratchet put away the sterilized tools, sighing as he took a small break. He was startled a bit when Megatron walked in with a recharging Optimus in his arms. The Prime wasn't bleeding anymore, but the wounds were still there. The knowing look the silver mech gave him told the medic what happened.
"Set him down and I'll repair him," said Ratchet. "That slagger needs to stop."
"That he does," Megatron agreed. "I trust you to repair my brother Ratchet."
"Try not to worry too much Megs. Optimus will be just fine," Ratchet reassured, scanning over his patient. "The wounds aren't as bad as they appear to be."
"Thank Primus," Megatron sighed. "I will let you work. Will I be seeing you later tonight?"
"Most likely," said Ratchet.
"Then I shall see you," said Megatron, taking his leave.
The silver mech left to his own berthroom. He sat down heavily on his berth, looking at the picture of his carrier holding him and his brother when they were younger. He picked it up, staring at it with a sad smile. He dearly missed his carrier. But he kept his promise to her to protect his brother the best he could from Sentinel and the Council.
"I don't know how I am able to protect Optimus better, carrier. Sentinel and the Council have their way with him almost nonstop," said Megatron. He sighed, putting the picture back and laying down. "I'll find a way Optimus. I will protect you from what is to come."
Megatron groaned, his body feeling heavy. It was hard for him to move. When he onlined his optics, he couldn't tell where he was. The last thing he remembered was trying to help Optimus when Sentinel and the Council were going to...… Megatron snarled angrily. How dare they do that to Optimus! He tried to move, chains rattling around as he did so. He had to get to Optimus. He just had to.
"Struggling is pointless. You are not going to get out of here."
Megatron froze at that voice. That slagger of a sire. His optics glared up into the blue ones of his sire.
"What did you do to him?!" Megatron demanded.
"You know very well what happened to him. He won't be a problem anymore," Sentinel said.
"I'll kill you all for hurting him!" Megatron shouted, struggling harder. His brother needed him. "Release me now! He needs me!"
"Not anymore," the older Prime sneered. The mech turned and left. "The others believe you to be dead. The medic included."
"Get back here!" Megatron snarled. Silence. He slumped down, feeling defeated. He couldn't be there to protect his brother. He just prayed to Primus that his baby brother would be safe and protected until he could escape. Megatron stared ahead, feeling tears running down his cheeks. "I'm so sorry Optimus. Please... please brother, be strong for me. We will be together again. For now, fight to live."
Optimus felt pain running through his entire frame. He felt so hurt, so betrayed. He barely noticed Ratchet doing some repairs on him. The young Prime had lost everything. He was near death, but Ratchet wouldn't let him die. The medic sedated his youngling, hoping that it would give him a rest from the pain.
'Megatron….. brother...' Optimus thought.
He was ready to give up on life. He just wanted the pain to end, even if it meant his spark extinguished. The Prime didn't feel pain now. He wondered if in some way, he had died. But he knew he was still alive. Ratchet must have saved him and stopped the pain.
~~~Earth- present day

Adam worked on the report he was writing. Once he turned it in, he would clock out and go home. But he would need to stop by the store first to get some groceries.

"Heading off Adam?" his partner asked.

"Yes," Adam said.

"Well go have fun on your vacation week. You deserve it partner," the other man said.

"As do you Tyler," said Adam, sending in his report. "Good evening."

"See ya later," Tyler said.

Adam rolled his eyes, going out to the parking lot. He got into his red and blue flamed Western Star semi-truck. He headed off to the store, parking a fair distance away. He had spotted two women walking into the store as well, both giggling. His eyes went to the blonde for a bit longer. She was stunning.

Shaking his head, the man quickly got his food and paid. When he put the groceries into his truck, he heard a scream. Turning to look for the source of it, he was surprised to see the same two young women from earlier. Three larger men sporting gang outfits trapped them, holding the oldest down. The younger woman tried to get to the other, kicking and fighting back.

Adam stomped over. He would not let these men harm these women. He tapped one man's shoulder, getting his attention.

"Get lost pal. This doesn't concern you," the gangster said.

"It does. You have no business in harming these women," Adam growled. The gangsters let the women go, getting ready to fight. Adam quickly beat them all, sending the gang running. He turned to the women. "Are you two all right?"

"Yes," the blonde said. "Thank you. I'm Kate. This is my sister Hayley."

"I am Adam," said the man.

"Thank you Adam," said Kate, blushing a bit.

"You are most welcome. I am always honored to help such pretty women such as yourselves," Adam said.

Kate shivered at that deep, baritone voice he had. His piercing blue eyes went straight to her soul. Hayley looked between the two older adults, smirking at how they both stared at each other. She coughed a bit, making the other two blush and look away.

"Sis, that ice cream is gonna melt if we don't get home," Hayley reminded.

"Of course," said Kate. "Thank you again Adam."

"My pleasure. I hope we meet again," said Adam, walking back to his truck.

Hayley hopped into the driver's seat of her truck, watching Adam get into his own and drive away. That flamed Western Star reminded her of something. Or rather, someone. Kate watched with a bit of sadness as he drove away. She wasn't sure what it was about him, but he made her heart beat fast.

Hayley started her truck, heading out of the city to go home. She looked over at her sister, who was still blushing a bit.

"You know sis, he sounds like Optimus Prime," said Hayley. "His semi-truck even looks like Optimus from the last two movies."

"Really?" Kate asked.

"Yeah. You didn't notice?" Hayley asked, glancing at her sister.

"Well now that you mention it, yeah he does," said Kate.

"You got a crush on him," Hayley suddenly said, grinning widely. "That's cute."

"Oh shut up," Kate said, turning away to look out the window, face red with embarrassment. "He's a nice guy, okay?"

"Of course sis," Hayley said.

~~~3 weeks later
Kate looked down at her phone, the device buzzing away with vibrations. She picked it up, answering the phone with a smile. Hayley looked at her sister when Kate sat up a bit more.
"Hey," Kate said, pausing for a bit. "Yeah that works out just fine for me...…. Okay, I'll see you soon."
"Who was that?" Hayley asked, curious to know why Kate was so giddy all the sudden.
"Hmm? Oh, that was Adam. He's stopping by soon to pick me up. We're going out for a bit," said Kate.
"So a date?" Hayley questioned.
"It is not a date," Kate retorted.
"Yeah it is. You two are planning something, you go out to get to know each other, he brings you home, kisses your hand or cheek in goodbye, then it starts over again. Yeah, that's a date sis. You must really like him and vice versa. Well, now you have the chance to have a man," Hayley said. Then the younger got serious. "So, when's the wedding?"
Kate sat there for a while, taking in what the other said. Her cheeks flared up with a deep red, throwing something at her sister. Hayley cackled as the object hit her. Kate was about to say something when there was a knock on the door. Hayley quickly answered it.
"Hey Adam," Hayley said.
"Hello again Hayley. Is Kate ready?" Adam asked.
"Yeah, she'll be here in a few minutes," said Hayley. Kate walked out, Adam freezing at how she looked.
"You look absolutely beautiful Kate," Adam said.
"Thank you," Kate said, looking down a bit.
"Go have fun lovebirds," said Hayley.
Kate looked away from her sister, grabbing onto Adam's offered arm. The two walked to his truck, the man helping her into the semi. Hayley watched as they pulled away. This was the start of many more meetings to come. At least her sister would be happy. That's all that mattered. Though the fact he sounds exactly like Optimus and his semi bothered Hayley still. Could it be? Nah, that was crazy. Hayley walked back into the house to go fix her up some dinner. She was starving.
