Hello fans of my fanfiction it is awesome to see that you guys are so supportive of my story, seriously last time I checked it had 36 favourites and 56 follows, which is epic! Anyways, there were very few questions in the review section which was a little disappointing but oh well, I'll just make due by answering the questions which were asked, but enough of my ramblings and lets get on with the story, enjoy!
As the story begins we come across Kirishima getting ready for his first day in Melromarc, he was wearing his U.A. uniform which he was summoned in(He doesn't really have any other option), he wore his usual shark-like grin on his face, the only difference to his appearance was the fact his hair was let down, without any hair gel he couldn't keep it in his usual style, but he decided it was alright due to the fact bright red hair would stand out pretty well in a medieval world in which quirks do not exist.
As he finished getting ready he stepped out of his room and joined the other three cardinal heroes he was summoned alongside with, as they travelled back to the throne room Kirishima made slight bits of conversation with the other heroes. Mainly Motoyasu and Itsuki as Ren isn't much of a talker and a bit of a loner.
As the four cardinal heroes entered the throne room for a second time they noticed a few new additions to it in the form of twelve adventurers equipped with various equipment, from full-plate armour and swords to robes and staffs. These were probably the adventurers the king said he would summon to aid the heroes in their journey's to save Melromarc from the waves of calamity.
"It is good to see you four heroes, these are the brave volunteers who shall assist you in your quest to save the world from destruction." Aultcray stated confirming it, these were the ones who were going to help them.
"Now go forward young adventurers, and choose the hero who you shall follow." the king said with a regal movement of his hand which was clearly a practised motions with how effortlessly he seemed to do it.
'Hold on, they get to choose who to team up with? That's really an inefficient method of partnering, but then again in the hero business you don't really get to choose who you partner up with on missions so it kinda makes sense. This also kinda reminds me of my class's first mock villain test. Guess I'll just work with whoever chooses me.' Kirishima thought while slightly reminiscing on the past, then he noticed that the last of the adventurer's were walking past him, looking back to see work he was gonna work with, only to see nobody was there.
"Well that's encouraging." he said sarcastically with a deadpan expression on his face.
Itsuki had 3 adventurer's behind him, Ren had the most with 5 followers, and Motoyasu had 4 people, and strangely all of them were female.
"Hmm... This is indeed an unexpected turn of events, but I'm afraid-" this time it was the king who was the one being cut off as a feminine hand from behind Motoyasu was raised pointing to the one who spoke.
"Excuse me! May I accompany the Shield Hero?" the bitch said in all her bitchiness(1) (Just look up Malty Melromarc if you don't know what she looks like because I honestly cant be bothered to describe this bitch)
The king for his part, looked surprised "Hmm, I do not see why not, if this is ok with sir Spear Hero, that is." he spoke turning to Motoyasu.
"Well, Kirishima kinda needs all the help he can get so I don't mind." he said with shrug not minding helping out the red-haired teen.
The bitch then bowed to Motoyasu and moved over to stand behind Kirishima who was looking at his fellow hero gratefully.
"Is anyone else willing to accompany the Shield Hero?" the king asked only to receive silence. "Very well then, due to the unique circumstances the Shield Hero shall have a larger amount of starting money than the other heroes in order for him to recruit more party members."
After the heroes received their starting money, with Kirishima getting 800 silver while the other heroes got 600 each, they headed out of the castle with a farewell from the king to begin their glorious adventure!
Blacksmith shop
As Kirishima and the bitch walked into the town's blacksmith shop, Kirishima admired the beautiful craftsmanship of all the different weapons, to him all of them were made by someone of at least expert caliber at the very least.
"Hey! Welcome to my shop, what can I do for ya?" the blacksmith welcomed them with a friendly tone, he was tall, had dark skin, was kinda bald, and had muscles, lots and lots of muscles.
So manly...
"Hi! I'm Eijiro Kirishima, I'm the new Shield Hero and I'm here looking some armour to wear. Chain-mail would probably be best to start with." he said casually, believe it or not Kirishima has played his fair share of video games and online RPG's he particularly liked playing high-defence classes which could tank a ton of damage, he essentially becomes one big clog in the enemies pipe line(2).
"Ah, I see you're someone who knows what to look for, I like that quality in someone. Well, I'm Erhard, the blacksmith that runs this shop. Anyways, over here we got some good quality chain-mail, not the best but it's good for a beginner." the blacksmith, now known as Erhard, said showing Kirishima some good looking chain-mail armour.
"Wow, this looks pretty awesome, how much for it?" Kirishima said admiring the design of the armour.
"Well, normally it'd go for 150 silvers but if you let me take a look at that shield of your's ill cut it down to 145." Erhard stated while looking at the legendary weapon sitting on Kirishima's arm.
"Deal." and just like that, the deal was done, Kirishima got some good armour at a minor discount and Erhard got to take a look at the legendary shield.
During Erhard's examination of the shield Kirishima eyes cast a curious gaze at the tool the man was using to inspect his legendary weapon.
"Hm? What's up kid?" Erhard asked as he stood back up.
"Just curious, how much do one of those tools cost?" he asked curiously, why was he asking this you may ask? Because he read in the convenient help menu that his shield could "eat" just about anything and it would allow him access to more shields, and even if the shield didn't "eat" the tool it would still be useful to have.
"About 25 silver, why? You want one?" the blacksmith asked with a raised eyebrow.
After that transaction which got Kirishima a new shield(3), he tried on the chain-mail which fit quite comfortably on his body.
"Wow! You look amazing sir Shield Hero!" Bitch said as she smiled at him as he walked out in his new gear.
"Thanks Myne, we just got one more stop before we go out to kill some monsters." he said causing bitch to tilt her head in confusion.
Outside the church of the three heroes
As Kirishima arrived at the entrance of the church he noticed his fellow hero Itsuki walking out of it in some cool looking armour.
"Yo Itsuki! You're looking good in that armour bro!" he greeted his fellow hero with his usual shark-like grin.
"Ah! Kirishima-kun, you're not looking to bad yourself!" the bow hero greeted back with a small smile(4).
"So did you come here to check out the dragon hourglass for yourself?" Kirishima asked curiously.
"Yeah, and check this I also unlocked a few new forms for my bow by adding some of the special dragon hourglass sand to it." Itsuki explained while transforming his legendary weapon into presumably one of its new forms.
"That's epic! Do you think I could get some that sand for my shield?" Kirishima asked while looking at his own weapon.
"Sure, the nun that I asked said they had quite a bit to spare so I'm sure they wont mind giving you a little bit of it" Itsuki replied warmly.
"Awesome! Thanks for telling me man!" Kirishima said gratefully before the two parted ways, Itsuki to the open fields to hunt some monsters and Kirishima to the inside of the church.
Inside
Walking inside the church Kirishima found it to be a standard medieval church setting. But I'm to lazy to explain it so you can just go look it up.
Walking up to the dragon hourglass Kirishima noticed a light coming from his shield he raised it up to inspect it, only for it to shoot a beam of light which connects to the dragon hourglass. Then Kirishima got a notification that his legendary weapon has been registered with the dragon hourglass and he and his party will be summoned when the wave arrives, he also got a countdown timer to when the wave will hit so that's a plus.
Walking up to one of the nuns Kirishima politely asked if he could have some sand from the dragon hourglass, to which the nun responded with.
"I apologise sir Shield Hero, but we simply cannot as there isn't enough." to which Kirishima replied with.
"Huh? But Itsuki said you guys had plenty lying around and that you even gave him some." this caused the nun's eyes to widen a fraction before they returned to there original position.
"I, apologise sir Shield Hero, I shall retrieve you some right away." she said with a small bow before walking away.
'That was weird.' Kirishima thought slightly confused.
After a few minutes the nun came back with a small satchel which contained the special sand, which Kirishima thanked her for before he and Bitch left the church.
Outside of the kingdom walls, open fields
"Ora!" Kirishima yelled out as he punched another one of the annoying orange balloon monsters, with 29 attack power he could easily one-shot each one without even needing to harden his fist.
As it popped he turned his attention to the 3 remaining balloons which he then proceeds to also pop, after he was done with that he fed some of the remains to his shield which earned him the [Orange balloon shield] it wasn't very powerful, but if he mastered it he would gain a passive bonus regardless if he had it equipped or not, the boost wasn't much but every little helped.
Even dust could become a mountain if enough was piled up, after all.
It just needs enough time.
"That was amazing sir Shield Hero! I thought I was going to have to do the attacking but it looks like you can handle yourself!" Bitch said clapping her hands together.
"Well, I worked out quite a bit before I was summoned so I'm pretty tough" Kirishima said as he backhanded another balloon that tried to sneak attack from behind causing it to pop.
He's been going at it for awhile now and Kirishima has gotten to LV 4 in the few hours hes been out here farming, it may not seem impressive to some, but for a Shielder class whose been killing low-level monster such as these orange balloons it's pretty impressive how far he came in just one day.
"We should probably head back now, it's starting to get really late." Bitch said pointing at the setting sun which Kirishima turned to look at.
"Guess your right, then lets head to an inn or something and head to bed, and tomorrow we'll continue levelling up and become stronger!" Kirishima said with more enthusiasm than necessary. Really, he just wanted to lay down and take a break, it's been another long day for him. But oh well, he'll just have to get use to the constant grinding if he truly wants to get strong enough before the wave hits.
As he and Bitch headed back inside kingdom walls, little did Kirishima know his entire world was about to be turned upside-down.
Yo! Btw sorry for the long wait guys, but this time I don't really have any other excuse except for my own laziness, I'm pretty sure if there was some kind of test to see what sin your affected by the most I'm pretty sure mine would be the sin of sloth cause I'm a lazy piece of shit, but that's besides the point. Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed chapter 4 and lets get on with answering some of the reviews I've gotten from some of my fans
Max Moreno: Yare yare daze... Of course he's gonna do jojo style poses... There's also going to be other jojo references.
Caboose el Rojo: I already thought about this idea even before I started "The Unbreakable Shield" so you can expect to see Kirishima hitting harder with hardened fists.
Omnipotent 18: Kirishima's attack stat does rise upon him hardening his fists(or any other hardened body part he's using to beat something to death).

2: I really have no clue if Kirishima had played video games and RPG's before being summoned but this is my fanfiction and I do what I want with it. -w-
3: The new shield I was referring to is called the [Appraisal Shield]. I got the idea from BKL777's "King explosion murder the shield hero" fanfiction, you've probably read or at least seen it as its right under my own fanfiction, I also recommend you go check it out because its really cool and its partly what inspired me to make this fanfiction
4: While Kirishima himself sees them close enough to call Itsuki by name the Bow Hero doesn't really think their that close but will still add the "kun" suffix to show they are at least familiar with each other enough for that.
Anyways that was chapter four of "The Unbreakable Shield" and I hope you all enjoyed. Btw I apologise in advance but I'm going make a second fanfiction so this wont get updated for a while and I'm sorry for that but the idea for this second fanfiction has just been sitting in my head for a few days and if I don't get it out its gonna affect my ability to write/type out "The Unbreakable Shield" so I'm sorry if your eager for the next chapter but hopefully you'll be able to hang in there for a while.
