615 PARADISE LOST
"You still don't believe me. I didn't shoot you." Mayourne claimed.
O'Neill grunted. Maybourne had gotten him into another mess. They could find no way off this 'paradise' and were reduced to bickering about past disasters.
"But the damned symbiote, Harry, the symbiote."
"You know I threatened them, a real Godfather move." Harry proudly stated.
"You cut off a horse's head?" Jack asked.
"No, the cannon move. There was a model cannon on the desk and I turned the cannon, aimed it right at her."
"It was a toothless threat, Michael had the power, and the senator was an arrogant fool. And it was Part 2." Jack said dismissively.
"I saw the cannon and I couldn't help myself."
"So what you're really telling me that it was all your fault. You son of a bitch."
"Jack, I didn't know what they were going to do with it."
"Jack, They're never gonna find us."
"Harry, Carter will keep looking. Teal'c will never give up."
"What about the new guy?"
"Ah...he's smart."
Jack was sure Maybourne knew him pretty well, he was well connected with spooks and had read his file. Carter had read his file too but O'Neill was sure she had a redacted version, for all her hacking talents. If she had read the entire file she would have run away from serving under such a bastard like her hair was on fire.
He really hoped Carter was looking for him. They had been here weeks now. Maybourne was starting to get totally freaked out and although he hated to admit it he was beginning to get a little creeped out too. And he was hungry. He wanted off this 'paradise'. He wasn't all together sure if SG-1 already had a new commander and were on new missions. And he was here counting skeletons.
The Tok'ra ship stopped planet side to pick up Major Carter. The others had said she was greatly concerned, they didn't use the word frantic but it was certainly implied. It was Selmak's decision yet when Jacob invited his daughter she demurred.
Jacob was confused. Wasn't she the one who interfered with a covert mission of his to save her colonel. Jacob was no fool, something was going on.
Sam desperately wanted to go but felt she had to decline. She wondered if her red face and pounding heart gave her away. She gave excuses of needing to supervise planetside, but Jacob wasn't buying it. He talked to Teal'c and knew she was more than anxious to get O'Neill back.
She had screamed at Dr. Lee, and cried on Teal'c's shoulder. Now she was afraid of what she would do when she finally found him. If...if he wasn't still alive, wasn't still in one piece. She wasn't sure she could face it. She had to know, had to find him. Jacob said they needed her assistance and although she was sure he didn't need her, she climbed aboard.
After his time with Ba'al, Sam wondered if O'Neill was immortal or just damned hard to kill or just too damned stubborn to lay down and die. And she was hoping and praying it was true.
And then there he was, limping toward the hovering Tel'tak.
He led them to the seriously wounded Maybourne. He claimed he had to shoot him. That was the second time, the first time Jack said he thought he shot a pig. He mouthed 'sorry' to Harry. And seemingly so against type O'Neill asked the Tok'ra if they could give Maybourne asylum. Jacob wondered if O'Neill was still under the influence, after all Maybourne was wanted for treason.
Jack insisted first they treat his friend Harry. Only after O'Neill apprised them of the hallucinogenic plant (they took samples) and their struggles on the planet, well moon, did he allow them to treat his seriously infected leg. He had no choice, he could no longer stand and Carter told him, no, ordered him to "Sit the hell down." To O'Neill's raised eyebrows she added "Sir".
Jacob turned aside so Sam wouldn't see him smirking.
