And here we go with chapter 9 guys and girls! also before we begin I just wanted to say one thing, holy shit 100 favourites WOOOOOOOOO! heck yeah! damn bois! anyways enough celebratory words and lets get down to business! to read! this fanfic! aka I'm gonna just stop wasting your time and let you get on with this chapter, but first if you haven't already I recommend you going and checking out my other fanfiction "A quirky gamer" its where Izuku Midoriya obtains the almighty powers of The gamer and MLG rekts some shit up! and also go check out my Q&A where you can learn more about me and even get introduced to my friends! so anyways I hope you check them out and I'll(hopefully) see you there, but until then enjoy the chapter!
In a random clearing in the middle of the forest
It has been about two weeks since the encounter with the two-headed dog monster in the cave and during that time Kirishima and Co have been travelling around levelling up and helping some people out with their problems, and during these adventures Kirishima unlocked a whole variety of different shields which give him their own unique skills which could be useful in their own right along side some nice passive bonuses to his stats.

[Pipe shield]
And those were just some of the many shields hes unlocked(1) since the mine incident and he has gained a huge boost to his all of his stats except attack and even then its received a boost!
Anyways getting back to the scene the Kirishima and Fuyu were sitting down on some very conveniently placed tree stumps while taking a break from fighting, Fuyu had exhausted most of her MP and was resting to recover it while Kirishima was just there to make sure nothing attacked her while Gregar and Raphtalia were hunting down monsters for more EXP, not that Raphtalia needed it anyways since she already hit the level 40 cap(2) due to one of Kirishima's shields, the [Slave owners shield I] and while he didn't like the name but he couldn't deny the results, and that was a 20% boost to EXP gains for both him and anyone bound to him as a slave, combine this with them beating powerful monsters and you get quite a few level-ups as the result.
Anyways during the two week time-skip appearance wise Fuyu and Gregar didn't change that much in their looks, however Kirishima and Raphtalia were a bit different from before, starting with Kirishima he didn't change all to much but his hair has grown out a bit and now reaches the bottom of his neck and has become extra spiky, which works in his favour as when he hardens it it becomes quite dangerous since its basically a spiky mass of rocks.
"Eijiro-sama a monster is coming your way!" Raphtalia's voice broke through the treeline as Kirishima got up and prepared himself as he looked in the direction his demi-human companions voice came from.
Then a porcupine jumped out of the bushes and launched itself at Kirishima, only for him to hold out a hand towards it and call out one of the skills he acquired from one of his new shields.
"Shield prison!" he yelled as a ball of green shields and chains wrapped around the beast, trapping it inside. this was the useful skill granted to him by the [Pipe shield] and why a shield made of pipes would give him a skill that would trap opponents is beyond him but the [Rope shield] gives him access to the [Airstrike shield] skill so he doesn't question it to much.
Now you may be asking something along the lines of "How can Kirishima use the skill of another shield without switch to it?" and the answer is simple, he slept with the shield active so he would always be able to use the skill regardless of which shield he had equipped, and he also did this with his [Rope shield] so he could always use the [Airstrike shield] whenever he needed it regardless of what shield he had equipped. although certain shields had certain skills which needed him to switch to them to work like his [Magma rock shield] with its ability to detonate and send flaming rocks at his opponents.
But enough ranting its time to get back to the story dammit!
So anyways after a few moments Raphtalia got into position so Kirishima released the skill and once the prison fell so did the beast as Raphtalia stabbed it through its back.
Raphtalia herself had changed the most out of everyone there now instead of looking like a young teenager standing as tall as Kirishima's shoulders she now looked to be a girl around 18 years old(and btw in this fanfic Kirishima is 17), she was only a few inches taller then Kirishima but that didn't subtract from her newfound beauty one bit, if anything it only complimented it. but asides her increased height she also now has long hair reaching down to her back, her red tea coloured eyes were quite vibrant, and she had "developed" quite well in certain areas.
all in all, she looked quite beautiful and many men would be jealous of whoever was lucky enough to be her boyfriend.
"Good job Raphtalia-chan" Kirishima said getting up and giving her a few headpats, no matter how much she grew Raphtalia couldn't deny she loved getting headpats. this was only proved by her tail wagging around happily despite her proclaiming she didn't like them.
"Hey! I got us some lunch for today!" Gregar said he came out of the forest holding two wild boars under one of his arms and a few pill rabbits in one of his hands while his free one was holding one of his axes.
"Good job Gregar-kun!" Fuyu said cheerfully, over the two weeks she had grown out of her shy shell and became a bit more bold, she could still get scared of monsters and sometimes gets embarrassed but hey, everyone is like that at one point or another. and incidentally she also developed some sass and a slight sarcastic side to her but aside from that she became mentally stronger and not just from her level increasing, speaking of levels lets show where everyone is at currently!
Kirishima: 38

Gregar: 37
Fuyu: 34
Despite being the lowest levelled of the group Fuyu was arguably the strongest due to her skill in ice magic making her much more powerful then the rest of the group with its variety of utilities and how adaptable it is in many situations. oh, and the star beside Raphtalia's level indicated she was in need of a class upgrade before she could continue to level up.
But anyways aside from all that it was time for the group to have their lunch! and then they'll head into to prepare for the oncoming wave of catastrophe.
So after about 5 minutes of Kirishima cooking the food everyone dug in and enjoyed it because it was gosh darn delicious.
In the capital of Melromarc: Erhard's weapon shop
"Yo big guy guess whose back!" walking into the store Kirishima called out to the friendly owner of it.
"Welcome back shield bro! I see you've made some new friends since you last stopped by here!" Erhard replied while looking at Gregar and Fuyu.
"Yeah, meet Gregar Plagor and Fuyu Kita! they actually wanted to join my party from the start but they got lost on the way here." Kirishima said while walking up to the counter.
"Hows it going!" "Hello!" both his companions said their greetings to the bald blacksmith.
"Well anyway I see the little lady of the group has grown into quite the beauty." Erhard said as he looked at Raphtalia who waved at him.
"Yeah, it was only little more then two weeks ago she barely came up to my hips and now shes taller then I am!" Kirishima said while looking at his demi-human friend.
"Well, demi-humans do tend to grow up quickly and shes already hit the level cap so its not really surprising." Fuyu logically stated as she looked around the shop, shes still wearing the cloak she had when she met Kirishima and felt the need for an upgrade to it.
"Hold on you mean to tell me shes already hit the level cap?" Erhard said as he leaned over the counter.
"Yeah I worked really hard to get this strong so I could help out Eijiro-sama as much as I can!" Raphtalia said with determination burning in her eyes like an uncontrollable raging inferno!
"Yup, shes a good combination of attack power and speed, combined with my ridiculous defence and we're pretty much set, add Gregar and Fuyu to the mix and that's just strait up overkill." Kirishima said he also begun looking around the shop, Fuyu told him Raphtalia has reached the peak of her rapid ageing so she wont need to replace armour due to her outgrowing it and he was looking for some gear for her since he couldn't always be there to tank the hits.
"Well if you looking to gear them up then you've come to the right place! just tell me what your looking for and I'll help out the best I can!" the blacksmith said with a smile on his face.
"We can all definitely use some armour since none of us have any at the moment, and Kirishima-kun would pretty much be an unstoppable juggernaut if he's geared up in some high defence armour." Fuyu stated as she went over some suits of armour on display.
"I'm good with anything as long as it doesn't restrict my movements." Gregar said while looking around. he didn't really know much about armour and non-axe type weapons so he decided its best to leave it to the others in his party.
"Oh! btw Erhard I was hoping you'd know if these fire crystals can be used in anything which could help us out." Kirishima said while placing some red crystals onto the counter, which Erhard then analysed with a bit of help from some appraisal magic.
"Hm... well they seem to be quite high in quality, but where did you even find fire crystals in Melromarc?" he questioned after he was done checking the crystals out.
"Found them in the cave system close to Lute village, why?" the redhead asked back in return.
"Well fire crystals in Melromarc are pretty rare considering you'd mostly only find wind and earth type crystals in the caves, maybe a few water crystals if its close to a lake or something but I've never heard of fire crystals being found in Melromarc's cave system since they are all imported from other countries." the blacksmith explained as he took out a few other elemental crystals to show the difference between them and the fire crystals.
"Hmm... do you got any paper? I got a design in mind for something which may be able to use these." kirishima said as his mind got to work on the details.
"Sure, I'd like to see what you could come up with anyways." Erhard replied with a smirk as he got some paper and a pencil he conveniently had and put it on the counter in front of Kirishima.
"Welp, its time to get to drawing!" he said with his shark-line grin as he grabbed the pencil and got to work on the design.
A few minutes later
"I have to admit kid, this is a good design" Erhard said while going over the schematics, said schematics were for a gauntlet-like pair of gloves with armour plating on the back of the hands and knuckles of the fingers to increase the power of punches, combine this with fire crystals inserted into the back of the armoured gloves to add on fire damage and you got yourself a wicked pair of flaming fists to beat the shit outta people with.
"Thanks, I actually took inspiration from one of the villains I've thought in the past who used similar armour over his hands to increase the power of his strikes." Kirishima explained while referencing to before he was summoned to Melromarc since he already told Erhard and his party about his old world, it also served the purpose of allowing more trust between the group since it shows them hes willing to trust them with his past, this also incidentally caused Gregar to open up about his own backstory but more on that another time.
"Well whoever came up with that idea was certainly smart." Erhard said as he again looked over the design, it would protect the hands, increase striking power, and didn't hinder movement at all, it really was quite the good design.
"Yeah that would explain Overhaul in a nutshell, the dude was already dangerous by himself but he also outsmarted people with minions following him." Kirishima replied while thinking back to the raid on Shie hassaikai, fighting both Rappa and that Hekiji Tengai guy, really it was one of the hardest battles of his entire life.
"Must've been scary..." Raphtalia trailed off as she thought about what she heard from Kirishima about the villains from his world, apparently the smartest villains were some of the most dangerous, and if a really intelligent villain also had a really powerful quirk? exceedingly dangerous for even experienced heroes to take on. now that she thought about it shes kinda glad she didn't grow up in his world otherwise she might've died before she even had a chance to become an adult.
"It was, but how could I call myself a man if I let a little bit of fear stop me?" he responded with a shark like grin and, to Raphtalia at least, a heartwarming one.
"Yeah! fear wouldn't stop me from protecting my friends!" Gregar mildly yelled out surprising the rest of the occupants in the shop who looked at him to see him, flexing and posing?
"Oh ho! are you challenging me?" Kirishima said as he tossed off his cloak and shirt and also began flexing and posing!
And now Raphtalia and Fuyu were just watching them with red faces and nosebleeds.
In a deeper part of the forest
After Kirishima and Gregar were done with their flex/pose off(and Kirishima put his shirt and cloak back on, much to Raphtalia's disappointment.) they continued talking to Erhard and the blacksmith decided to make some custom armour for them while getting another one of the shop owner to make some new outfits for the team, so until they were done they decided to spend some more time grinding levels to get stronger.
During one of their breaks Kirishima came across one of his shields he forgot he had, the [Dragon hourglass shield], and one of its skills just so happen to give him the ability to instigate a class-up, the only downside is that he only has a limited number of charges so he couldn't just class-up everyone at once if they were all maxed out.
Once he told his party this they all had the expected reaction.
""WHAT!?"" they all shouted in unison while Kirishima covered his ears to protect them from the excessively loud sound.
"Yes, it can do that." he said as the three calmed themselves, this was after all a big breakthrough which broke a potential limiter that would've been a huge hindrance to them.
"Well then, I suppose we should use it for Raphtalia sooner rather then later so she can continue to get stronger." Fuyu spoke logically.
"Yeah, lets do that." Kirishima said switching to the [Dragon hourglass shield], appearance wise it was a large rectangular shield with an hourglass on the front of it which looks quite similar do the real dragon hourglass itself.
"Go ahead Raphtalia, choose whatever class-up you want." he continued as he held out the shield to his faithful companion.
"Well, I'll be fine with whatever you pick Eijiro-sama." she said with a small smile, which Kirishima frowned to.
"Raphtalia, you have to make this decision yourself since I cant always make your choices for you." he said seriously, since he really couldn't, what if they got separated? what if he couldn't talk to her? what if she lost her hearing? there was really an infinite amount of things which could prevent him from doing anything to even assist in her decision making.
But in actuality though he was just to lazy to pick for her.
"Um... ok Eijiro-sama..." she replied as she placed a hand on his shield and was immediately presented with quite a few options with what paths she could take.
After a few minutes after careful consideration and looking through all the options, she focused on her choice and picked it(3).
So, this took much longer to make then it should've. But lately I've just been so lazy recently, seriously I'm pretty sure a less lethal strand of the corona virus has infected me and intends to try to kill me by making me to lazy to eat(unfortunately for it I'm partially a glutton!).
Anyways alert! important notice: There is a new poll on my profile where you can vote on the subject for my next fanfiction! now I'm sure your thinking something along the lines of "why are you making another one when you already have two to work on!?" well the answer to that is... IDK I just do things without thinking to much on it unless it involves gaming, so yeah and I just wanna get my ideas out there(plus my beautiful and lovely girlfriend Hitomi said it would be a good idea so it has to be!).

And its honestly up for debate whether Kirishima gets a harem or not, but if he does I'd include these characters: Raphtalia(shes already with him), Rifana(I can just make her live since this is my fanfiction and I do what I want with it), Rishia, Glass, and maybe a few other characters.
Anyways onto the numbers!
1: For this I'm actually asking you guys for new shield ideas, the format is as follows.
Name: The name of the shield.
Unlock conditions: What conditions need to be met to unlock the shield(like what materials it needs to absorb or something else)
bonuses: What bonuses it gives Kirishima when equipped and eventually become permanent.
Equip skills(Optional): What skills it gives Kirishima which become skills he can use with any shield equipped once he had the shield equipped for long enough.
Unique equip skills: Skill that can only be used when the shield is equipped and cannot be use when another shield is in use.
Appearance: The design of the shield.
2: If you don't the fact that I pretty much power-levelled them I have a reason, in canon it was simply just Naofumi and Raphtalia in a duo, but Kirishima has both Gregar and Fuyu helping him and Raphtalia out so they could face more high levelled monsters more easily and level up faster.
3: This one is simple, I want you guys to create possible class upgrades for Raphtalia, if your option is chosen then it will affect how the story flows, however if it isn't picked don't be a sore loser and complain about it, if it doesn't get picked it doesn't get picked. also there is no real format for this one so go wild with it.
