"But I don't understand, Seto," Kisara says. She stands behind Seto as he types away on his computer. Though his facial expression is mainly blank, she can tell his short interaction with Ziegfried greatly bothered him. "Why do you hate him so much?"
"For the last time Kisara, I don't want to talk about it," Seto replies, keeping his eyes on his computer.
"He seemed very nice. Even going as far as making sure no harm came to your amusement park. Doesn't that mean anything?"
"Don't be naive. He is not to be trusted."
"Well maybe if you actually told me why, I'd have a better understanding of the situation!" Kisara snaps, growing increasingly agitated that he isn't being open with her.
"I'm much too busy to be talking about someone who is irrelevant." Multiple screens pop up on his computer that shows different views of the park. It is empty and there isn't any signs of activity. There may have been a hiccup today, but with his plans of increased security, he plans to finally open the park tomorrow. "The only thing I'm focused on is my company and building my legacy."
Kisara's heart jumps a little and feels as if it is sinking. "Is that it…?" she asks in a soft tone. Her heart sinks even deeper when she gets no response from him. Lately she hasn't been feeling much of a priority to him and what he said just confirmed it. As if it finally registers in his head as to what she just asked, Seto finally stops typing and he turns around, only to find out that she has left room.
He breathes a heavy sigh. "Great."

Atem walks up to refrigerator pressing the button on the ice maker so that the ice despenses into a medium, white towel. He gathers the towel up and makes it into a knot so no ice will fall out, before heading up the stairs to his bedroom. Opening up the door, he is surprised to see the room is empty. He could've sworn Mana was there just a few minutes ago. He wasn't in the kitchen for that long.
"Mana?"
"Up here," he hears her respond and his amethyst eyes scroll up to see her levitating upside down in the air with her legs crossed, holding onto her phone as she scrolls through several news outlets and text messages. Oddly enough, a wave of relief hits him. He immediately thought the worst when he didn't see her at first, thinking she may have snuck out and gotten into more trouble.
"Anything interesting happening?" he asks, going over to the edge of the bed to sit down.
"Looks like Seto is going through with opening his park tomorrow," she replies, lifting her eyes from her screen to look down at Atem.
"Is that so? One would think after today, he would have pushed the opening date once more."
"It looks like he's only doing a soft opening though. With appearances by Atem and Yugi Mutou," she reads off a partial sentence of one of the articles and Atem grunts. Typical Kaiba to throw him and his brother into his events without consulting with them first. Mana turns upward and plops down gracefully next to him in bed.
"So are you going?"
"Do I have a choice?" He places the ice up to her bruised forehead and she flinches a little from a combination of the extreme cold and the pain that still lingers. Typically she would heal herself, but the pounding headache is making it hard for her to concentrate on such a task.
Mana cringes before answering, "Guess not." She suddenly starts to grin and Atem dims his eyes at her suspiciously.
"What?"
"So were you shocked that what happened today at KaibaLand wasn't my fault?" she asks, her grin growing bigger.
"Extremely shocked."
Mana grunts and cuts her eyes at him. "Don't say it like that."
"Well you really don't have a good track record. I also can't help but wonder if this was a one time thing or have you truly learned your lesson?"
She looks up and scratches her head. "Admittedly, I still don't have it all figured out. I know we've had this conversation before, but I guess I'm still not grasping it."
"At least you're honest."
"Do you want me to stop altogether? Because I honestly don't think I can!" she says, jumping up to her feet, her voice growing a bit frantic as she continues. "I can't help that I have these gifts. I can't just turn them off. They're me! It's not as simple as you not ever summoning a monster again like you've done up until recently. It's just not that simple! My powers are apart of me and—"
"You think I have an issue with your powers?" Atem asks in somewhat disbelief and confusion. Mana looks down and begins to twiddle her fingers and he shakes his head. "I'm not sure what gave you that impression, Mana."
"I'm sorry that I cause you so much stress," she blurts out and his eyes widen, not expecting that coming from her.
Atem lowers the ice from her forehead. "Talk to me." He wants to gain more of an understanding as to what is going through her mind right now. It seems her emotions and thoughts are all over the place at the moment.
"It's just that…I've trained for years to become the magician that I am today. I'm not saying I'm the most powerful being in the world, but I'm not your average woman either. So I feel that you shouldn't be worried about me or get stressed out."
"You're my wife. Of course I'm going to be concerned about your well-being. The same as you are with me."
"Yeah…"
"I don't question your strength. You're the strongest woman I know. And you using your abilities to help others isn't the issue," he begins to explain. "But sometimes you give off the impression that you believe that you're invisible and you're not. You tend to let your guard down. You rush off into situations without thinking it all the way through."
Mana chuckles lightly and rubs the back of her head. "I can see why you'd say that."
"I just want you to be safe. I don't want to wake up one day and you're not laying there beside me…for good."
"You're not gonna lose me," she assures him, walking up to wrap her arms around his neck. But when she looks down at him, his expression has a hint of uncertainty as if he doesn't know whether to believe her or not. She looks over to her phone that lies on the bed and she remembers that the grand opening of KaibaLand is tomorrow. That's when an idea pops up into her head.
There is a brief silence and then Mana clasps her hands together. "I'm going to be on my best behavior tomorrow," she says suddenly and he looks at her with a confused expression.
"What do you mean by that?"
"We're gonna have a fun time tomorrow and the only thing you'll have to worry about is avoiding the paparazzi. But you're pretty good at that, so no worries there."
"I don't understand."
"Don't worry about it," she giggles. Actions speak louder than words and she is determined to show Atem that he won't have to worry about her getting into any trouble. It's just going to be a normal day at the amusement park. At least, that's what she's hoping for.
YGOYGOYGOYGOYGOYGOYGOYGOYGO
The sky is blue, bright and sunny with no clouds in sight the following day. Despite that, fireworks shoot up into the air to signal the opening of Kaiba's new amusement park. An excited crowd excitedly waits for the gate to open so that they can finally enter. The crowd ranges from adults to children who were exclusively invited by Kaiba himself as the first people to enter the park.
Yugi groans loudly, standing just before the start of the red carpet alongside Téa, Atem and Mana. Of all places, he wasn't expecting for there to be a red carpet here. In fact, he didn't know that he would be some sort of special guest either. "Why does he have to be so over the top with these things? No one said anything about paparazzi and a red carpet," Yugi complains, placing a hand on his forehead.
"It comes with the territory Yugi. You really should be used to it by now," Téa says.
"Well I guess we should just get this over with," he says, sighing with defeat. "Right Atem?" He looks up, only to see Atem and Mana have already made it halfway across. In true Atem fashion, he avoids the reporters and their pesky questions, but makes time for his fans.
"Gah! Why does he always have to leave me hanging?!" Yugi yells.
"Why do you always leave Yugi hanging?" Mana chuckles as they continue to walk down the carpet and they pause at another mark to take photos.
He wraps an arm around her waist and brings her close and they both look forward to all of the flashing cameras and multiple cameraman and reporters calling their names. Atem wears his signature black shirt with long blue pants while Mana opts for a similar outfit that she wore yesterday, except wearing a more fitted t-shirt this time around. "Didn't leave him hanging. He just needs to keep up," he mutters.
A cameraman begins to call Mana's name to get her attention as she and Atem continue to converse privately with each other. "Or maybe he needs to look more intimidating," Mana jokes, referring to Téa's comments on how intimidating Atem can be.
"Mana! Mana over here! You hear me?! Mana! Look at this camera!" a certain photographer continues to yell loudly and Atem's eye twitches a little. Part of the reason why he hates these events are how rude and demanding some of the photographers can be. But he decides to continue to ignore them.
"You think I'm intimidating?"
"No, but you're my husband," Mana says with a shrug. "Though I will say, you do have your moments when it comes to events like this."
"How so?"
"What? You think you're too good to look at the camera over here?! Why don't you—" the man continues and Atem shoots over a warning glare to him that causes the pestering man to immediately stop mid sentence and cower behind another photographer.
Mana chuckles. "Like that," she points out while he continues to glare in the man's direction.
Standing in front of the entrance of the park are Kaiba and Kisara. The group of exclusive guests cheer excitedly as Kaiba is handed a pair of large scissors to cut the blue ribbon. Cameras flash as he looks out into the crowd with pride. He has worked endless days and nights and now the day has finally come.
Kisara manages to smile as she stands beside him. They had a heated argument last night and it truly bothered her, but she can't let that show. This moment is about him and celebrating his success. She is proud of him. She knows the amount of hard work he put in to make this day possible. And now that the park is finally open, she hopes that will mean more time between the two of them.
He cuts the ribbon and the crowd goes up in a large roar of applause and cheers.

Mana walks ahead of Atem, Yugi and Téa at a quick pace after they finally enter the park. Since first laying eyes on the park, her mind has been on one thing and one thing only.
"The ride isn't going anywhere, Mana," Atem reassures her, cracking a smile and she slows down so they can all keep up.
"Someone's really excited," Téa comments.
"Of course! Have you seen that thing?" She points to a high standing, steel blue coaster known as White Lightning. A train with enthusiastic passengers shoots down the steep hill and their screams fill the air. "We will conquer that ride first!"
"You're probably gonna pass out once you get on," Atem jokes and Mana lightly jabs his shoulder playfully.
As they get closer, they can see that the line is extremely long with over two hours of waiting time to Mana's dismay. She sighs and drop her head in defeat. Waiting in such a long line with the sun beating down on them isn't going to be fun at all. "I'm not excited anymore," Mana groans.
"Yeah, the wait time is pretty long," Yugi agrees, though he is rejoicing internally. He doesn't really want to get on the ride anyway.
They hear a familiar voice giggle and turn around to see Kisara. "Nonsense."
"Oh, hey Kisara!" Téa greets.
Kisara walks past the group to one of the attendants, who steps aside to allow them to go through an express line. She motions for the others to come along and they happily follow her. They are able to bypass hours of waiting in just a few minutes and they finally find themselves sitting in the blue carts, placing the safety harnesses over their shoulders.
Yugi breathes in and then out, bracing himself for the wild ride that will come. He isn't very fond of rollercoasters, but he tolerates it in order to be able to hang out with the others. Mana sits on the left end of the cart next to Atem and Kisara while Yugi and Téa sit in front in the front row.
"I've actually been able to get on this ride before it actually opened to the public. Just Seto and I," Kisara tells them with a smile. "And I can tell you, it's quite intense."
Atem smirks. "Should be a fun time," he says as the cart begins to proceed. He looks over to Mana who grips the handle bars tightly. Her legs are clenched together and her eyes are focused. "You gonna be alright?"
"Huh?" She looks over and puts on a brave face. "Of course I am! Nothing I can't handle!" She looks over to the left as they ascend up the hill. The people below begin to get smaller and smaller until she can barely see wonders how high this thing is even capable of going. She can practically touch the sky at this height.
They reach the top of the hill and the train stalls a little. "Here we go!" Téa exclaims, raising her hands as Yugi shuts his eyes. The train suddenly zooms down at a great speed and Yugi can feel his stomach fluttering from the steep drop. There are various screams from delight to fear as they go through multiple twists and turns. Kisara smiles, unfazed by it all while Téa screams in delight.
"Not bad!" Atem yells as the wind whooshes through his hair. "What do you think Mana?" He looks over at her and his eyes widen with shock when he sees her body limp and her head flopping back and forth with the movement of the train. Momentarily her eyes open and she screams for a few seconds before passing out once more and he dims his eyes in disbelief.
'She can literally look death in the eye and not flinch and yet she passes out on a rollercoaster,' he thinks to himself.
"That was awesome!" Téa exclaims as they walk off the exit.
Yugi leans on a nearby rail, holding his beating chest. "I'm just glad it's over."
Kisara brushes her hair down with her hands and smiles. "Glad you all liked it. Seto worked really hard on that one. He's hoping it'll be ranked one of the best coasters in the world someday." She looks over to Atem who carries Mana on his back and she chuckles. "Oh, Mana. You have the ability to fly, but a rollercoaster makes you faint?"
Mana lifts her head slowly. "I thought I was gonna die," she whines. Then to their surprise, she suddenly perks up. "Let's do it again!"
"Or how about we go see what other attractions there are," Atem suggests, a pearl of sweat dropping down his temple.
"And that works too!" Mana says, raising her fist.
"What other sorts of attractions does this amusement park have, Kisara?" Yugi asks.
Kisara taps her chin and looks up. "Well…"
They find themselves in front of a huge building in the shape of a Blue Eyes White Dragon head. They all stare with their mouths agape while Kisara only chuckles. Inside, it appears to be a huge stadium with multiple platforms for dueling. As they walk further in, other duelists catch eye of Atem and Yugi and they begin to talk excitedly amongst themselves. Getting to see them up close and person is such a treat.
"This place is enormous!" Téa says, looking in all directions.
"Now playing card face down," a feminine computerized voice says, bringing their attention to the dueling field.
"What is that?" Atem asks, observing a kid dueling against what appears to be a computer.
"Oh that? That's one of the simulations Kaiba has in place so duelists can test out their skills," Kisara explains.
Atem smirks and folds his arms. "I'm actually impressed."
"Pretty creepy if you ask me," Mana says with her hands crossed behind her head. "Anything involving robots are—"
Téa quickly puts her into a headlock. "Good thing no one asked you," she says between clenched teeth. "Don't be rude."
"Kisara, will Kaiba be joining us? He couldn't possibly work on a day like this right?" Yugi asks.
She sighs heavily. "Guess again," she replies, dropping her shoulders a little. "He truly is a workaholic."
"He'll come around. Just give him time," Yugi assures her and she cracks a small smile.
"Level 10 Mode engaged. Now summoning Valkyrie Brunnhilde in attack mode," the computerized voice announces, its previous feminine voice turning into a deeper tone to everyone's surprise. They look toward the playing field where a monster card appears on the field. She wears battle armor, wields a sword and shield and sits on top of a white horse. Her dark blue hair flows down her back and her eyes are narrowed at her opponent who begins to tremble.
"Uh…I'm not good enough for this level," the brown haired kid says, taking a step back. He looks around for help, being stranded on the high platform of the dueling field.
"Some sort of glitch?" Téa asks and Kisara walks over to one of the engineers who is working behind the scenes.
"Can you reboot it?" Kisara asks the engineer who hooks up his laptop to the system to override the settings. The lights of the playing field turn off and the little boy's monster disappears off the field. She walks back over to her friends and shakes her head with a smile. "Seto isn't gonna be too happy about that. But I guess with it being the first day and all, these things are bound to happen."
Atem's eyes scroll up to the darkened field and he narrows his eyes, seeing the figure of a woman on a horse. "Kisara."
Kisara looks over at him questionably. "What is it?"
"If the entire playing field has been rebooted, shouldn't the field be empty?"
"Yeah, that's right. Why?"
Her question is answered when the little boy screams as the shield maiden charges at him, holding up her sword and letting out a battle cry.
"I don't think that's a hologram," Mana says.
"You would be correct," Atem agrees, whipping a card out of his pocket, raising it into the air. In a blinding light, the Dark Magician appears and flies over to the field to intercept the attack. The few spectators in the arena look over in amazement, seeing Atem in action. Him displaying his ability to summon real duel monsters isn't an everyday thing and they begin to cheer him on.
The kid on the other side of the field begins to cry in fear, seeing the two monsters duke it out directly in front of him. Yugi rushes over and leaps upward, managing to reach the kid and he kneels down to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's gonna be alright. You're safe now," Yugi says with a smile and the kid begins to wipe his tears.
"Someone's on their best behavior," Téa notes, keeping her eyes on the action in front of her and Mana does the same with her arms folded across her chest. Mana stays silent, calmly observing Atem and Yugi handling the situation and working together. But internally, she is ready to jump in at any moment in case something goes wrong. It's taking all of her power not to interfere, but she made Atem a promise. Questions begin to arise as to who is behind summoning this maiden warrior and why they are trying to attack innocent attendees.
'Whoever it is must have a thing for ruining Kaiba's events,' Mana thinks to herself and she looks over to a dark corner on the opposite side of the room where a tall figure slowly backs away until they are gone completely.
