A/N: I'm very motivated, as well as excited (tee-hee) to start working on this next chappie.

In the last chapter, we learned about how Sam met Scam, but in this case, I'll be writing their actual encounter at the picnic. Also, the bold/italicized text are the characters' thoughts.

Cresenta's Lark: I'm so happy that you enjoyed the last chapter! :-) Thankies. I hope you'll enjoy this one.

WOOHP - 7:23 P.M.

Clover, Sam, and Alex were all seated on the O-shaped fold up bed, chatting about their upcoming weekend in Hawaii. "I wonder what cute agents we'll meet. Ooh, I hope I meet a suave, charming, intellectual." Sam replied as she fantasized about a tan-skinned gentleman holding a poetry book and a large bouquet of Red roses. When she snapped out of her daydream, she then asked, "Clover, what are you looking for in whoever comes your way?"

"Oh, no one in particular." Clover replied.

That's because I already have a guy. I don't need to go looking for other men. Though, I can't lie to myself and say that I wouldn't be tempted to flirt. I don't wanna be a bad girlfriend.

"Huh? Clover, you aren't going to mingle with the agents at the picnic? That isn't like you." Alex replied. "I got a lot on my mind, that's all. I don't want to be selfish." Clover replied. "Like what? Shopping and boys?" Sam laughed.

"Ha ha, very funny. Clover, as long as I've known you, you've never been one to shy away from flirting with guys." Alex says. "I'm just going to have a few conversations with some agents, just as you are." she replied.

Sam looked at the time displayed on the screen of her compowder and began to panic. "Uh, girls. I think we should get home. It's getting late."

Gasping, Alex replied, "Oh, my mom's gonna kill me! My curfew is at 8! Remember the last time I was late? I was grounded for an entire month! Clover, if you think your mom is tough, you haven't even begun to see mine in action."

"Al, don't worry. We'll make it home just in time for dinner. We'll just tell them we had to do inventory." Sam replies, putting an arm on her shoulder.

Jerry got up from his chair and walked out to stand in front of his agents. "I'm sorry to disappoint you all again, as I know at times, I can be… a little too oppressing, but I assure you that this is all about having a good time. No catch, whatsoever." he says.

"Jerr, we appreciate it so much. Our mothers are gonna be so happy about this!" Alex exclaimed. She suddenly paused. "Wait a minute. We can bring someone along, right?"

"Of course, you can! Just tell them that you're treating them to a well-deserved vacation to a luxury spa." he says as if to convince them to lie. "WHAT?!" the girls exclaim in shock.

"What's wrong? I thought you'd be thrilled about bringing an extra person along." he says, slightly confused by their reaction. "No, it's not that, Jerr. You want us to lie to our mothers?! What would possess you to suggest that?!" Sam asked, suddenly fuming in anger.

Laughing, Clover chimes, "Sammy, you just told Alex that we'd lie to them about our whereabouts. Don't turn back now." "Yeah, but it's different when we lie by omission. When we're asked to lie, it strikes a different chord." she replied in defense.

"Remember to keep it as vague as you can. You cannot risk them finding out about me forcing you to join WOOHP against your wishes, and the fact that you're putting your own lives on the line on a daily basis." Jerry replied, adding emphasis on the last sentence as much as he could.

"Well, you do know there's the Internet, right Jerr? Even if we don't tell them, it won't be long before they start putting the pieces together with just a Google search of WOOHP and soon we're right back to living our regular everyday lives as if we've never even met you." Clover states.

"Yeah, I don't even wanna think about how our mothers would react to learning about our secret, as protective as they may be at times." Alex replied, shuddering at the play-by-play events in her head.

"Alright. We'll go with the lie. But I won't like it." Sam replies, her heart sinking down to her stomach.

Vasquez Home - 7:50 P.M.

Carmen paced back and forth as she worried about her daughter. Sure, she'd only been gone for almost 2 hours, but it seemed like a lifetime since she'd left.

"Car, calm down. Alex is fine. She's got Samantha and Clover." Stella calmly says. "Their car's here. They just pulled in the driveway." Gabby replies as she gets up from her seat at the dining room table and walks over to her friend, giving her a hug.

"Ha! 7 minutes in just before curfew! I told you that you didn't have anything to worry about, Al." Clover happily replied as she opened the door and began to get out of the car, with Sam and Alex following suit.

As they began to walk toward the door, Alex turned to her friends and asked, "Guys, what if our parents catch us in our lies? I mean, I've lied to my Dad, but never my Mom." "Well, what choice do we have? It's for WOOHP." Sam replies. Suddenly, the door opens, revealing a very pissed Gabby.

"What's going on out here? And what's WOOHP?" she asked, hands on her hips. "Mom! Uh, we were just talking about our job at WOOHP... hotel. Here in Beverly hills. Yeah, our boss informed us about our annual company picnic, which is next weekend." Sam replied.

"Oh, really? Company picnic, huh? Tell me. Just where will this company picnic be held?" Gabby asked.

"In Hawaii!" they exclaim in excitement. "Hawaii? Oh, I've always wanted to go there for an anniversary getaway with your father. I'll go tell the girls the great news!" Gabby replies with excitement.

"Uh, Mom, you can't bring Dad along. It's reserved for mothers and daughters only. No biggie, really. It's like a job fair for those who are interested in working in the hotel business and we wanted you all to check it out with us. Oh, I almost forgot, there's a luxury spa involved on this trip, too. Given all the hard work you all do, you might need it." Sam replies.

"Well, the spa does sound good. And we could all use it. I only have one question. Aren't job fairs usually in the closest area of town, not in another state?" Gabby asked.

"Yeah. But this one is pretty special as it is located in a tropical place: Lāna'i. Jerry said that it'll be held at the Four Seasons Resort." Alex replied. "Gabs, what's going on out there? And did I hear something about a resort?" Carmen asks as she heads outside to where the others are.

"Carmen, we're going to Lāna'i! The girls are going to have an annual company picnic in Hawaii and we can go!" Gabby shrieked. "What are all of you doing out there? The Fajitas are getting cold." Stella replied as she walked out to the driveway, carrying a plate.

Everyone turned around to see Stella holding the plate in her left hand, while putting her right hand on her hip, tapping her left foot on the pavement. "Well? I'm waiting. What's going on? And I want the truth!" she demands.

Clover took a deep breath and replied, "You want the truth, Mom? Okay, here it is. The reason why we were gone for so long is because our boss wanted to get in contact with us in order to tell us about our annual company picnic. He said that we can bring whomever we want."

Stella suddenly perked up with excitement. Hawaii was a dream vacation for her, Carmen, and Gabby. They'd dreamed about this trip since their high school days. And now their daughters were finally making that dream come true. Sam looked over at her mother, who was now crying with tears of joy.

She walks over to her, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Mom, are you okay?" she asks.

"Baby, I'm fine. You don't know how much it means to me that you're doing this for us." she replied, now crying even more than before. "Clover, honey. Thank you. Tell Jerry we really appreciate him doing this for you. I can't wait to see all the beautiful scenery and go swimming on the beach!" Stella shrieked in excitement.

Carmen was so excited about the trip, she didn't even make a fuss over the girls making it home in time before curfew. Of coursre, she had something else on her mind. "You know, Ally. If you get lucky, maybe you'll find a nice man during our time in Hawaii. I'd like to become a grandmother in the future." she said as she placed an arm around her daughter's shoulder.

"I should've known where this conversation was going. Mom, I'm too young to be focused on boys. Besides, I don't think Dad would be too keen on that subject." Alex replied with a laugh.

8:15 P.M. - WOOHP Headquarters

Jerry sat in his office, putting the final touches on the plans for the weekend. This was going to be a special picnic, at least to him, anyway. Maybe he'll meet someone special, given the fact that the girls - mainly Clover, were always teasing him about getting a date.

I simply don't have the time to get acquainted with a woman. There's this company, my agents, and I won't be able to put it behind me for her. How would I know how to put her first? Sam told me that it was never too late to find love. Maybe they're right. I need to get out of my comfort zone. Oh, well. You know what they say: 'There's no time like the present.'

"Lost in your thoughts again, Jerr?" a tall, tan skinned man asked, completely snapping him out of his thoughts.

He had a muscular build, emerald Green eyes, and chestnut colored hair. He was casually dressed in a tight-fitted black shirt, which hugged every curve from his broad shoulders, down to his chiseled abs. He also wore a pair of Calvin Klein blue jeans, complete with a pair of black Deer Stags Brooklyn slip on shoes. His style was more of a laid back look. Not too serious, but not too boring.

"Oh! Tim, I didn't see you there. I-I was just getting everything ready for this weekend. How are things going in the weapons lab?" Jerry asks.

"Everything is good. I'm just working on the floor plans for my next set. Hopefully your new team of agents will be able to use them in the future." Tim replied. "My new team? As in Sam, Alex, and Clover? Tim, they're much too young to be able to handle such equipment. They're only teenagers." Jerry stated.

"Yes, but one of those teenagers so happened to use one of my weapons in order to stop Geraldine from putting us out of business. Remember SPI? Not to mention she was pretty damn skilled at operating it, seeing it was the first time she's used one." Tim stated matter-of-factly.

And she used it a second time to stop Macker the safe cracker from taking over the world with clones a third time. Apparently, he wanted to try his hand at revenge yet again. They never came close to forgiving me after that catastrophe. I really did think they were using their gadgets for criminal purposes.

As intelligent as I am, I should've known they'd never put their jobs on the line. Plus, they were clones. I don't blame them for hating me for that. I tried everything I possibly could to earn back their trust and friendship - shopping sprees, company credit cards, trips to any city they desired and yet, nothing. I would've thought the Paris bribe did the charm, given the fact that Clover loved it so much, but even SHE didn't bite.

"Alex used a gun? That's impressive. She's 16 years old and already knows how to operate guns." Jerry replies, rather impressed.

"And she is...?" Tim asks, clearly confused. Laughing, Jerry replied, "The girl with the short black hair. She wears the Yellow spy suit. Then there's Sam. She wears the Green spy suit. And lastly, there's-" "Sam? Is she the one with the Red hair?" Tim asks, almost giddy.

"Yes, she is. She's very intellectual, a very important addition to WOOHP." Jerry replies as he walks over to his desk and pressed a button on the keypad.

The monitor above switched on, displaying a photo of Sam, Clover, and Alex on the screen. It looked as though they all were standing in a hallway at their school. There were Purple lockers, mounted into the Light Pink walls, all of which were surrounded by bulletins and posters. The floor was covered in White and Beige colored tiles.

Wow... she's beautiful. I hope she'll be at the picnic. Wait a minute, what am I saying? Of course, she'll be there. She's a WOOHP agent. It'll be so great once we finally meet, but for the time being, we'll only remain friends.

"Uh, Jerry. Where'd you say the picnic was located again?" Tim asked.

"The picnic will be located in Lāna'i, a small island in Hawaii at the Four Seasons Resort. I'm sure you'll have a good time. Take some time to get acquainted. And who knows? Maybe there's a chance you'll meet your forever." Jerry replies with a smile.

"My forever what? Soulmate? Jerr, I hate to break it to you, but there's no such thing as a soulmate. That's a cliché idea. The thing about soulmates is that they only exist in Hollywood movies and shows. They're more like fairy tales. Besides, the blonde-haired teen looks like she's the one who's completely obsessed with the idea of having a soulmate." Tim stated.

Besides, I'd like to think of Sam and I as the equivalent of twin flames. We're connected in a way that's unexplainable. Ugh, I haven't even met her yet and I'm already talking about her as if we're in a committed relationship.

Tim takes another look at the screen, making sure to view all of Sam's features, from her waist-length Crimson colored hair to her Emerald Green eyes. She was wearing a light Blue dress, which stopped at her knees, with a white collar at the neckline. She wore a pair of White heels, to compliment the look.

The girl on the left side of her, Alex, was tanned skinned with short black hair, which was pulled up in 2 buns. She wore a teal colored crop top with a purple skirt, along with teal heeled boots. The 3rd girl, Clover, stood on Sam's right side, her left arm placed around her waist and her right hand giving the peace sign.

Clover wore a red long-sleeved business-like blouse, buttoned at the waist, revealing just a little of her midriff. She wore a pair of pink pants, completing the look with red heels. His eyes moved back on Sam, causing his lips to form into a small smile.

This is going to be one weekend to remember.

The next week...

Monday, March 18, 2001 - Beverly Hills High - 12:33 P.M.; Cafeteria

Sam, Alex, and Clover were all seated at a table, enjoying Sushi platters. They were engaging in a conversation about the upcoming weekend in Hawaii. "I can't believe we're going to be in Hawaii... again. And this time it's a real vacation!" Alex exclaimed as she used her chopsticks to pick up a roll of Sushi.

"I know! I mean, I'll admit I thought Jerr was just messing with us with the whole, 'Surprise, girls! You're going to Hawaii for our annual company picnic!' thing, but given the circumstances, I don't think this is a trick. It's legitimate." Sam replied.

As Sam picked up a piece of sushi with her chopsticks, Clover replies, "I don't know, I still think it's another one of Jerry's training sessions for us. Should we really let our guards down this time?"

It's not that she wasn't happy getting a chance to have a real vacation, but this is Jerry. She had the sinking feeling that somehow, someway, he would have something up his sleeve.

"Clover, I know you're suspicious, but trust me when I say that this isn't another one of our training sessions. We're going to Hawaii - no catch. But I know I won't be surfing again anytime soon." Alex replied.

"I'm just glad that we can bring our mothers along. They're gonna love this." Sam replies as she takes another bite of her Sushi.

A few days later...

Thursday, March 22, 2001 - Clover's Mansion - 7:22 P.M.

The girls were getting packed up for the trip, while their mothers did the same. They packed swimsuits, sunscreen, towels, and other essential things they may need if they wanted to go to the beach.

Sam's POV (Voiceover)

We spent the last two days planning on what we were going to do once we got to Lāna'i. And of course, me being the nerd of our trio, I had to do some extra research.

I really am living up to my nickname, "Sam No Fun." Clover wants to forget about school and here I am obsessing over what we can learn while on the trip. And who knows? Maybe there'll be a Pop quiz on Hawaii in the near future.

Alex will be so excited to meet Jessey for the first time. I met him during one of my solo missions, you know, before Clover and Alex learned about WOOHP. He's sporty, adores animals, and is tough when he needs to be, kinda like her (Laughs). Not to mention the fact that he's pretty damn sexy, but that's between you and I.

Clover's been acting a little weird lately. I must say I was a little shocked to learn that she wasn't gonna mingle and flirt with a couple of guys. Maybe she's settled down.

(Scoffs) Yeah, and I'm suddenly gonna become a slacker in school. This is Clover we're talking about. She's fallen in love with just about every guy she's laid her eyes on. Come on, you've seen our show, right (Laughs)?

But maybe she's grown out of that phase and decided to find herself a nice guy. And if she has, then there's nothing I can do but be supportive.

She's the most popular girl in the entire school, but she's not as conceited as Mandy. Sure, there are times when she gets a little selfish, but she does have a good heart on her shoulders. She's very loyal and is always there for Al and I whenever we need her and vice versa.

I can't believe how much she's packing for this trip! She has a suitcase for her shoes, outfits for every occasion, a suitcase for all of her accessories. That may be acceptable - if she had her own line of dolls. She never disappoints in her outfits, either. I can't wait to see what she wears once we arrive.

I thought about what she said when she mentioned her suspicions based on the fact that Jerry was inviting us on a vacation. I'll admit I was a little skeptical, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt - this time.

Alex on the other hand, packed light. She brought 6 outfits: 2 for tomorrow, 2 for Saturday, and 2 for Sunday. She'd probably go to the Luau and hang out with us or Jessey. I'd be willing to bet she'd spend the rest of the weekend with him. And then there's me. I don't know, I think I'm throwing out a lot of high expectations. I'm looking for a good-looking guy.

Green eyes, tanned skin, strong, but gentle, and a really good lover (when the time is right, I'm too young for that at the moment). Oh, and he has to love Science. Is that asking too much? (Laughs) Okay, okay. Don't judge me. It's not my fault I think intellect is sexy.

"This is the outfit I'm wearing for the Luau, then I'll dress down to a sundress for the bonfire." Clover explains as she holds up 2 outfits for Sam and Alex to view. The first outfit was a pair of blue jean capris with a Black sleeveless, strapless Ruched slim crop top Camisole. The second outfit was a Red Lace strappy sundress.

"What shoes are you wearing?" Alex asked, curious. "Well, I'm thinking about wearing a pair of Yves Mont Blanc stilettos. And to top it off, I'll wear a White pearl necklace. It was a gift from my dad while he was overseas in Tokyo." Clover replied.

Sam was next to showcase her outfits. The first outfit consisted of a White FARYSAYS Women's Casual V-Neck Button down Strappy Cami Tank top with a pair of Lise Anti Fit Dark Blue Denim Jeans, completing the look with a pair of White Denim Distressed Peep Toe Single Sole High Heels.

"What do you guys think about this one?" she asks as she held up the stylish outfit for them to see. "Oh, girl! That entire outfit is going straight to my closet after you wear it!" Clover shrieked as she scanned the entire outfit in awe from top to bottom.

"Clover, you can't snag the outfit after the first wear! That's breaking the Best Friends Rule!" Alex laughs. "Oh, spare me. You snagged my leopard pumps last year for the Sadie Hawkins dance. I haven't gotten them back yet!" Clover says with a laugh.

"Well, you owe me for the time you borrowed my red leather catsuit last year for Popstar Week at Bev High. I was planning on dressing up as Britney Spears. I should've just dressed up as JLo." Alex replied in defense.

"Here's my 2nd outfit." Sam replied as she held it up for them to view. It was a Tropical Print crop top with a Maxi skirt.

"Well, whomever it is you're gonna meet, that outfit is sure to make the perfect first impression." Alex replied with a smile. "You really think so?" Sam asked. "I know it will, Sammy. This guy won't be able to take his eyes off you once he sees you in it." she assured her.

"I hope so. Al, what outfits are you wearing?" Sam replied. "I'll surprise you." Alex replied with a wink.

"Girls, lights out! We've got to leave first thing in the morning." Gabby yelled from downstairs. "Okay, Mom! We've just about finished packing." Sam shouted.

After they finished packing, the girls then went to go get washed up and ready for bed. Tomorrow, they were on their way to Hawaii...and they could hardly wait.

The next day...

The newly renovated W.O.O.H.P Hotel - 5:00 A.M.

The girls, along with their mothers were all seated in the lobby, anxiety and excitement getting the best of them. Jerry had sent Sam an e-mail of the schedule the night before. She'd gone over every single activity that was going to be done - from Snorkeling to Horseback riding.

It had to have been over a hundred times she's skimmed through it. Then again, she couldn't help it. Study guides were her obsession and it sometimes annoyed the hell out of Clover, though Alex didn't seem to be bothered too much by it.

Jerry then appears from inside his office, wearing a blue, green, and white-colored floral T-shirt with a pair of Navy-Blue shorts, finishing off the look with Black Flip-Flops. "Why, hello, girls... and mothers." he greets with a wave. "Jerr, I see you're dressed for the occasion." Alex says.

"Thank you, Alex. You look quite...festive. You all do. Are you ready to go? Our flight is set to leave in a half an hour." he smiled. "We're going to Hawaii!" the girls, along with their mothers exclaimed in excitement.

On the Jet - 8:45 A.M.

Having loaded everything up (Everything except Clover's accessories suitcase), the girls and their mothers all sat in 3-seated sofas across from each other. There was a mini bar, a fridge, and a 42'' Sony Plasma screen TV, which was mounted on the wall, complete with a wide variety of movies, ranging in genres from Romance to Horror.

To top it off, there's a master bathroom in the back, complete with 3 individual changing rooms for each of the girls. This jet was entirely different from their Spies!™ one. While that jet was filled with musical instruments, lava lamps, and of course, anything a teenage girl could ever dream of, this was a total upgrade from your average flying jet.

"Wow, Jerr, talk about a total makeover. You've really outdone yourself." Clover replied in astonishment. "Yeah, this jet is the bomb!" Sam chimed in as she reached into the fridge and grabbed a bottle of Lipton Green Tea out of it.

Alex reached into the mini bar to grab a bag of avocado tortilla chips, and a small container of spinach dip. As she does so, she asks, "Jerry, when did you ever find the time to redesign the company jet, you know, despite you being busy and all?"

Jerry, who was sitting at a desk, obviously putting the finishing touches on some last-minute paperwork, replied, "My staff made arrangements to get a Bling Jet just in time for the trip. What do you think?"

"This is amazing! You know Jerry, maybe you could arrange for us to get one of these. The girls and I travel a lot for work." Carmen insists with a wink to match. "I'll be sure to look into that sometime. In the meantime, what activities do you three ladies plan on participating in once we arrive?" he asked.

"Well, we were thinking about maybe going horseback riding, since Ally loves horses. How about you, Gabs?" Carmen replied, looking over to her friend. "I don't know. I think I'll just let you and Stella have your fun. I'd most-likely just curl up and read a good romance novel." Gabby replied.

"A romance novel? Gabs, why would you want to read one of those cliché far-fetched love stories when your marriage literally is one in real life? Besides, wouldn't life get pretty boring if every relationship had a happy ending?" Stella asked with a small chuckle. "Are you saying that there's no such thing as a happy ending? What would make you believe that, Stell?" Carmen asked out of curiosity.

Stella then began to slink down in her seat. She didn't want to come off as the unsupportive friend, but she just wanted to know why her best friend wanted so badly to believe in true love, especially since she herself just began to protest against it so vehemently. Her marriage was being torn to shreds in the last 10 years. She was the peacemaker, and her life was crumbling down.

She recently just learned that her husband was cheating on her again with another woman, she just didn't know who. Most wives would just put on their blinders and live in the dark, but she didn't. She was the detective wife (that alone would prove to come in handy one day). No matter how much she searched, how deep she dug, nothing came up.

Carmen and Gabby would just label her as paranoid, but a woman (and a man for that matter) knows when their spouse is straying and would stop at nothing until they had proof. The first affair was with Savannah back in '91. It lasted for 8 months, but there was no child as she was unable to get pregnant.

However, Arnold was her miracle baby. The mystery woman he's sleeping with now, 10 years later, had given her many sleepless nights. There were often times where she'd found herself unable to focus on work.

Maybe I can find myself a sexy man while in Hawaii. Hell, if he can cheat, then so can I. I gave him 19 years of marriage, even forgave his ass for sleeping with that piece of trash, after he BEGGED me not to leave him and then he turns around and does it a second time?! What am I doing wrong?

And to top it off, he doesn't even care about Clover's feelings. She's been affected by his betrayal the most. It's no wonder she looks at Jerry as more of a father figure. I mean, from what I've heard, she's always joking around with him, teasing him over his hair loss or sense of style, but not in a hurtful way.

Tristian never even bothered to come home for a visit. The military life was more important than him physically being there for her. He's not a bad father at all, it's just that there's more to being a father than just sending birthday or Christmas gifts.

Without realizing it, Stella suddenly found herself in tears, not even aware of the fact that her friends were watching her with looks of concern on their faces.

"Clover, is your mom alright? She's crying." Alex says with worry in her voice. "She's probably excited about the trip." Clover replied. "My mother's excited, too. She told me about how she and your mothers have all dreamed of going to Hawaii since they were our age. It's awesome that we get to do this for them." Sam replied.

Just then, Clover's Compowder rang. She looked at the Caller ID, which read, Arnold J on it. Under his name was an envelope, meaning he'd left her a message. As she opened it, she soon found herself smiling from ear to ear as she began to view the message, which read...

"Hope you're having a good time. I miss you. Have a surprise for you. Just wait and see. Love you, baby."

He'd sent it to her 2 hours ago, so she'd gotten just enough sleep as they took off before she got the chance to read it. Right now, he was probably on his way to school. Every day before his 3rd period class, he somehow always managed to surprise her with large bouquets of White roses in her locker, along with a box of Chocolates.

Clover truly didn't understand what was so great about the guys she had dated within the last year. She just dated "good-looking" guys and obsessed over the things that could make them potential partners for her.

Last year, Arnold wasn't even on her radar. She tried her hardest to avoid him. The thing she loved about him was the fact that he wasn't the obvious desperate type that wouldn't stop at anything to try to get her to be his girlfriend, like most nerds in his social circle would've done.

Sure, he'd used that as a form of leverage as a way to get her to return the favor for him helping her out with that campaign for Homecoming Queen against Mandy, and it annoyed her a little bit, but somewhere in the back of her mind, she kinda liked the attention.

I can't believe that I'm in love with Arnold. (Laughs) Wow, even in my head that sounds sooo… off. It wouldn't hurt to tell Sam and Alex. It's time they find out about this. Maybe they'll be skeptical, but on the other hand, they may laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

She reread the message, smiling from ear to ear yet again. She decided to call him back, just to hear his voice. She took out her Bluetooth headphones and connected them to her Compowder.

Once she was connected, she thumbed through her list of contacts until she reached his number. She pressed the Call button and listened to the ring until she heard someone pick up.

"Hello?" the voice said. "Are you up?" Clover asks in her shy voice.

"I was wondering when you were gonna call. How's your flight?" he asked.

"It's going good. We should be there in a couple of hours. You should've seen the looks on our mothers' faces. They were beyond excited. I gotta admit, I was surprised that we could bring them along." she replied.

"Aww, how sweet. I'm sure they really appreciate you doing this for them." he replied. Arnold paused for a second and then proceeded to ask, "So, what is it exactly that you do outside of school?" Clover suddenly felt a lump form in her throat.

Shit! I was hoping that question wasn't gonna come up. Clover, you've been dating this guy for about 2 months and you still haven't told him your secret. But you can't because it could put him in danger. Ugh! I really wish I would've never agreed to do this fucking job! But I didn't have a choice, seeing that I, along with Sam and Alex were literally forced into it.

She heard herself sigh heavily.

But then again...if I would've refused to work for WOOHP, I wouldn't have gotten the chance to travel to these awesome places like Paris, Taiwan, or India or have the chance to fight all these demented villains, I mean… it's not like that part of the job was actually rewarding.

"Hello? Clover, you there?" Arnold asks, immediately snapping Clover out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, I'm here. Sorry, I lost my train of thought. What was your question again?" she asked, acting as though she didn't hear him the first time around.

"Baby, come on. I just wanna know what your job occupation is. It shouldn't be so difficult to tell." he pries.

Oh, but it is difficult. Very, very difficult.

"I'll give you a hint. You stay in one sometimes if you were to go on a vacation." she lies. "So… you work in a hotel? I get the feeling that's not the real occupation. It has to be something bigger than that, Clover. You can tell me. I promise my lips are sealed. No one will ever know. Are you worried that if anyone ever found out, it would cause you to lose your job?" he asked.

Wow, suspicious, much? I have to come up with a good lie. Maybe he'll back down from asking me about it.

"Yes, that's exactly what it is! I have a strict boss. I can't tell you about the hotel business because it's a dog eat dog world out there!" she lied again, hoping he'd change the subject real soon. "Okay, okay. I'll buy it. This time. You have fun in Hawaii, okay? Send me lots of pictures. I love you." Arnold says.

"I love you, too. Talk to you soon. Tell Martin and Virgil I said Hi." Clover says before hanging up. "I will. You do the same for Sam and Alex. Tell them about us. They won't judge you, okay?" he replied.

"I promise, I'll tell them, okay?" Clover replied. "Okay, I'll hold you to it. Don't back out on me." he replied for reassurance. "I won't. I promise. They'll learn about our relationship first thing tonight." Clover replied.

"I love you." Arnold says again. "I love you, too. See you when we get back." she replied. "You're smiling again, aren't you?" he asks.

Now feeling herself blushing, she asked, "How can you tell?" "Because you're blushing. You always blush when you smile... or you may just be embarrassed about something & laugh it off. I can't believe you're my girlfriend. And to think that last year you'd tried your best to avoid even talking to me." Arnold replied.

Clover couldn't help but laugh. True, she did have the tendency to avoid him any way she could. She had better things to do than to be seen on the school grounds hanging out with some nerd. She'd much rather be at the Mall purchasing clothes from all the hottest designers around the world, or dare she say it - going on a mission.

But things are completely different now - at least for her. When others were around, she still acted as if he was an annoying zit that just won't go away and that was before she'd gotten into a relationship with him, which made her completely justified, but now it was making her feel guilty.

Underneath the glasses, Arnold was a meek, shy guy who always kept to himself. Well, he wasn't too shy - except when it came to girls, with the exception of her for that matter.

And if she were being honest with herself, she was a little bit of a nerd herself. Outside of shopping or her obsession with beating Mandy at almost everything, she did like to read the occasional manga comics from time to time.

"I'll talk to you, soon, baby." Clover replied. "You're telling them, right?" Arnold asks for clarification.

Laughing, Clover replied, "Yes, I'll tell them about us dating. I mean it." "Okay, I won't pressure you anymore. Have a good time. Remember, I want lots of pictures." he replied with a laugh.

"I love you." Clover replied. "I love you, too." he replies as he ends his call. Clover then took the earbud out of her ear, thus proceeding to close her Compowder.

"So, who do you love?" Alex swooned. "Huh?! Oh, Alex. I didn't see you there." Clover lies, startled.

"Clover, I've been sitting next to you during this entire flight. Don't even attempt to change the subject. Spill it. Who's the new flavor of the week this time? Is it Brad?" she smirks. Clover took a deep breath and replied, "No, Mandy has him. Remember? Besides, I'm done dating guys just because I fall head over heels "in love" with them." she replied.

Laughing, Alex replied, "Since when? Every time you set your sights on a new boy, you start to have some sort of an epiphany about him being your potential soulmate. Though it's a bit annoying, we love you anyway and you wouldn't be you if you didn't practically obsess over boys on a daily basis."

I hate how she knows me so well. Maybe I wanna break out of that bad habit. Settle down. As if that's so hard to believe.

"So, who's the lucky guy, then?" Sam asks out of curiosity. "Arnold." she answers. Alex and Sam both look at their friend with raised eyebrows, take a look at one another, then proceed to bust out in a fit of laughter.

"What?" Clover asked in defense.

"Come on, Clover. You don't actually expect us to believe that you're dating King of the Nerds, do you?" Sam asked with a hint of sarcasm in her tone and between stifled chuckles.

"Yeah, I mean, sure he's a nice guy and all-" Alex began, but was soon interrupted. "And just what do you mean by that?" Clover asks again, this time more defensive.

"Listen, I know Arnold's had a massive crush on you for like, ever, but that's all it is, Clover." Alex says.

"Yeah, are you under some spell or something? This is the same guy who blackmailed you into becoming his girlfriend in exchange for helping you beat Mandy for Homecoming Queen." Sam states as a matter of fact.

"Uh, Sam. Remember when you were voted as the most popular girl and when he was revealed as your Secret Admirer? He blackmailed you, too." Alex states "Yeah, but that was different. Arnold was just being nice to me, Alex." Sam replied in defense.

"Well, things changed overtime. He's a really cool guy once you get to know him. I don't think it's that bad for him to want me for a girlfriend, is it?" Clover asked.

"No, it's not that. It's just...it seems as though you're cheating on him with all the guys you compete with Mandy for. You know that's not fair to him, right?" Alex replied with nothing but concern in her voice.

I hate it when she's right, but I can't argue. I shouldn't hurt him like this. It's wrong. He tried so hard to get me to like him (with numerous attempts. Luckily the large bouquets of roses and chocolate worked) and I finally gave in. I have to be honest with him. The constant flirting with other guys will end this relationship quicker than it began. And I sure as hell wouldn't like if he flirted with other girls. I KNOW I wouldn't.

Letting out a big sigh, Clover replied, "No, it's not fair to him at all."

"Then, you know what you have to do." Sam replied as she put an arm on her friend's shoulder.

Well, that wasn't as painful as I thought it was gonna be. I don't know what I was so worried about. They're happy for me at least. That's all I wanted, right?

Meanwhile, at Beverly High - 9:30 A.M - 1st period Biology

Arnold, along with his 2 best friends, Virgil and Martin were all seated at their assigned seats. Their teacher, Mr. James was explaining the contents of their group projects.

"Next week, you'll be writing a 12-page report on a topic of your choice. The topics include testing plants and gravity, cleaning oil off birds, Vitamin C, and the effects that tea has on fruit flies. You'll have up until the end of the class to update me on the topic you choose. The report itself counts for 10% of your grade, while the project counts for 80%. I expect nothing but the best from you all." he instructed as he heard what sounded like unhappy groans coming from the class.

As if on cue, the bell rang, which meant it was time for 2nd Period - Physical Education. As all 3 boys each got up from their seats, they grabbed their book bags and started to head out of the classroom.

Once they were in the hall, Martin complained, "Well, this should be fun. I hate big projects like this." "Oh, we know. Virg and I always end up getting the heavy part of the project. Every time." Arnold says with a laugh.

"Not true. I helped you guys with the Potato light last semester." Martin replies in defense. "Yeah, helped yourself to all the credit. You didn't even make an effort to help." Virgil replies with a slight chuckle.

"Okay, okay. I promise I'll pitch in. You have my word on that. So, Arnie. Who's your lucky girl?" Martin asked in an effort to change the subject. Arnold suddenly stopped in his tracks at the question his best friend was asking of him. He quickly turned his face away in an effort to hide the shade of red plastered on it, with a drop of sweat appearing on the side of his head.

"Uh-uh, maybe we should get to P.E., guys. Don't wanna be late." he stammered. "Nuh-uh! We'll be late. C'mon. Who is she?" he nudged. Realizing that Martin obviously wasn't gonna give up on his quest, Arnold confessed the name of his secret crush in defeat.

"It's Clover. Clover's my lucky girl." he replied. "Clover as in Clover Ewing? The most popular girl here at Beverly Hills High? That Clover?" Martin asked in disbelief.

"Yes, that Clover. We've been dating for about 2 months. 3 on the 24th of this month." Arnold replies, laughing. "Wow, who would've thunk it? The captain of the Chess club would be dating the most beautiful girl in school." Martin swooned as a shade of red spread across his face.

"Isn't she a little out of your league, though?" Virgil asks. "I thought she was, but I learned that she and I have a few things in common." he replied.

"Yeah? Like what?" they asked in unison. "For starters, I learned that she loves to read manga comics, loves Science, and she sings pretty well, too." he replied. "Wow. A manga fan who loves Science AND has the voice of an angel? A match made in heaven. Arnie, you're pretty lucky." he swooned again.

Laughing, Arnold replied, "Yeah, I am, aren't I?"

Their conversation about Clover was soon over because they were now inside the gym. Volleyball was the sport of the week and not Arnold's best sport.

It's not that he isn't good at it, it's the hand eye coordination of it. He gives a good serve, but he has a difficult time with catching the ball. This is why he's more comfortable with Science experiments, as they're more up his alley.

The Four Seasons Resort Lobby - 12:33 P.M.

The gang were all lined up in the lobby, where they patiently waited for the hotel manager to arrive. "Wow, this place is beautiful! It's a whole lot different than anything I've ever seen." Carmen replied in astonishment as she took a look around the Hawaiian scenery.

"Yeah. I should book this place for our anniversary next year. Lance would love it, we could take a load off Samantha. She's always searching far for the perfect gift for us, when she shouldn't. It's not her job." Gabby says.

"Yeah, but as your daughter, she gets you these gifts as a way to show you both how much she loves and appreciates you." Carmen replied. Stella couldn't help but chuckle at her friends. They were chatting amongst themselves and talking about what they had planned to do once they got settled in for the day, and here she was wallowing in self-pity. She was supposed to be enjoying herself on this once in a lifetime vacation, and that's exactly what she was gonna do.

Four Seasons Resort - Master Suite - 12:44 P.M.

Tim was laying on the bed, thinking about how he was going to make a first impression on the girl he met on-screen 3 days ago, how he'd approach her in person. The girl who goes by the name, Samantha Simpson. She'd been on his mind since then, and he wasn't going to forget about her anytime soon.

I want to avoid giving her the wrong idea about me. The last thing she needs is a guy who comes off as desperate. Flowers are a nice start. Yeah, that's good.

He was ready to meet his twin flame and start a future with her.

But first, I get to know her. Being friends is the most important thing. Next, she cannot know of my past, meaning my past with WOOHP; that I was fired due to the illegal use of weapons. I must think of an alias to use. Now, let's see… can't be something too obvious. Maybe I'll reverse my name. Tim Scam = Mac Smit. Pretty simple

He sat up in the bed, as a lightbulb went off in his head. He thought about it for a minute, immediately finding himself face palming his forehead as a drop of sweat appears on the side of his head.

God, that's fucking lame! C'mon, Tim. You can do better than THAT! Of all the underhanded elaborate schemes-I mean IDEAS I've come up with over the years during my time at WOOHP, this is pretty sad. But I have to continue to butter Jerry up if I want this to work. Let's see... there was that '80s band he was a part of – Double Digits. If I contact the other half of the band, Tammy, that means that he'll retire then I'll be set to take over WOOHP. Yes, it's perfect.

No longer doubtful of his plan, Tim got out of bed and started to get ready for the picnic, which was in 3 hours.

Hulopoe Beach Park – 1:22 P.M.

"Last one to shore has to buy dinner!" Alex yells as she starts to swim out at sea. "Al, are you sure you should be out that far? Remember what happened last time? You thought that you were an expert surfer girl?" Clover asks, panic in her voice.

She was getting her well-deserved sun tan, as the last one was abruptly interrupted by Alex's request for her to teach her how to surf. "Relax, Clover. I'll be fine. Come on. The water's great! We're just having a friendly, non-competitive race. Sam, put down that boring book and come on in!" Alex replied.

Annoyed, Sam put down her book and reluctantly got up from her towel, walked out to the water and jumped in, beginning to swim over to where Alex was. "Alright, Mom. Call it!" Alex shouts.

"Okay, Ally. Ready, set, GO!" Carmen shouts. "Catch me if you can, Sammy!" Alex yelled as she went for a head start, leaving Sam not too far behind.

"Hey, no fair! You cheated!" Sam screamed as she tried to hold the urge to burst into laughter. "Nope, just a damn good swimmer!" Alex quipped.

"Oh, we'll see about that." Sam replied as she swam fast enough to catch up to her friend. Clover sat up from her towel and looked out at her friends having their little swimming contest. She couldn't help but chuckle at their immaturity.

Wow, Al really is a good swimmer. Not to say that Sam isn't good, either. I mean she is pretty good, just not as fast.

Seeing that Sam wasn't too far behind, Alex made her way towards the shore. As she got out of the water, she started to head over to where Clover was sitting, turned around and replied, "Well, I guess our Sammy's buying us all lunch later on."

Laughing, Sam replied, "I guess I am. Hey, I want to check out this little gift shop and buy a little something to keep as a souvenir before the picnic starts in a few hours."

Back at the Four Seasons Resort – 4:30 P.M.

The WOOHP Hotel employees were now wandering about, chatting and getting to know their fellow co-workers, as well as reminiscing about topics as boring as their first day on the job.

Sam, Clover and Alex, along with their mothers looked around, watching all of the employees engage in mindless conversations, while they themselves were secretly wishing the picnic was already over. Besides, the only thing that held their interest tonight was the food.

As Stella looked around, she noticed some pretty decent looking men. Some of them were lean or buff in stature. Some were tan or pale in skin tones, and of course, you had to have the occasional perfect pearly white smile, with a bright personality to match.

One of these men has got to be a potential partner. I'm gonna go have a little fun.

As Stella wandered off into the crowd of WOOHP employees, Gabby took the initiative to go looking for a potential partner for Sam. As she scanned the room, her eyes landed on a tall, muscular tanned-skinned man. He was wearing a black t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, with his occasional slip on shoes. Gabby took the time to view his physiques.

Broad shoulders, hmm. He must be the working type. Very dedicated to his job. Nice abs, which means he does quite a lot in order to keep in shape.

She walked up behind him, lightly tapping him on his shoulder. He abruptly turns around and looks down to see a woman, a woman who carried the same image of the girl he'd hope to meet soon tonight. Only this woman was a bit older than her.

She had long hair, reaching down her back. It was a darker shade of brown. She wore a sleeveless green sundress with a pair of brown flip-flops and a brown headband in her hair.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude but you don't look like the type of person to be working in a swanky hotel like this." she says as she shows him a picture of the WOOHP Hotel.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. I just decided to go into the hotel business in order to get a head start into my real field." the man replies. "If you don't mind me asking, what is it that you do exactly?" Gabby asks.

"At the hotel?" he asks, with a raised eyebrow. "Well, sure. If you don't mind sharing your occupation with me, that is if you're willing to." she laughed. "Okay, well it sounds pretty damn silly and in some ways… boring." he blushed.

"What's so boring about working in a hotel? Are you a housekeeper? Concierge? What?" she pushes. Sighing in defeat, he replied, "I'm… a Front desk agent."

Laughing, Gabby asked, "So, you think that welcoming guests into WOOHP Hotel daily with a smile on your face is... boring? You get paid well, don't you?" "Yes, I do. It's just… I don't really care for this job, just doing it so I can move up to bigger and better things." he stated.

Nice going there, pal. Here's a thought, maybe you can try to get to know her and see if she's related to Sam.

Realizing he made a horrible first impression, he decided to mentally start all over. He reached out his hand in an effort to grab hers and shake it replying, "I'm sorry, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm Mac. Mac Smit."

"Well Mac, it's very nice to meet you. I'm Gabby." she introduces as she extends her hand out in an effort to shake his.

"Well Gabby, it's very nice to meet you as well. You know, you look exactly like an employee I've seen a few times around the hotel, the only difference is she has red hair." he replied, smiling.

He's talking about my daughter. So adorable how he has a little crush on her. He looks like he could be a potential partner for her in the future. Good head on his shoulders, doesn't have a nasty past, and would treat her right.

"Samantha? My daughter? Well, you know they always say that your child is a spitting image of you." Gabby replied. "You're right about that. She has a pretty good head on her shoulders, always on the up and up about the business and her job." he replied.

It's one of the many things I've come to admire about her.

"Sammy, who's that man your mother's talking to?" Alex asked out of curiosity. "Yeah, I've never seen him at all before during the last year we've worked at WOOHP." Clover replied, suspicions nagging away at her.

"He's probably a new employee Jerry hired. We should go over and introduce ourselves." Sam replied as she began to walk over to where her mother and the man were standing, but was suddenly stopped by a pull on the wrist by Clover.

"Hey! What are you doing?" she asked as she turned around, trying to loosen the grip on her wrist. "Let your mom introduce you to him. It'd be more romantic that way." Clover replied as if she'd read some quick tips for a perfect date from one of her cheesy teen magazines.

"Clover, we're all going to meet him. You're talking as if I'm going on a date with him as soon as we come in contact with one another. And besides, it's not like my mom sees him as a potential partner for me, right?" Sam replies, slightly annoyed with her best friend's antics.

"Who knows? You just might." Clover says with a wink. "She's right, you know?" Alex states with a smirk.

"Oh, please. You guys sound ridiculous." Sam scoffed, folding her arms. "Just go!" Alex and Clover laugh in unison, completely ignoring their friend's attempts to reject their advice and giving her a push towards him.

"Alright, already. I'll go." Sam laughed as she walked over to where her mother and the mysterious man were standing. As she walked up to the pair, she took a deep breath, hoping to calm down her sudden case of nerves.

Okay, why am I suddenly so freaked out? I've seen this man maybe once or twice wandering the WOOHP halls. Talking to him shouldn't be too bad... right?

"Sam, there you are!" Oh, Mac. I'd love to introduce you to my daughter, Samantha. Her friends call her 'Sam' or 'Sammy' for short." Gabby replied as she watched the two of them exchange glances at each other with a small smile.

"Well, hello, Samantha. Nice to meet you. Wow, you look beautiful. Your mother's told me so much about you." Mac kindly introduced as he extended out his hand to shake hers.

"Nice to meet you, finally. Face-to-face. And thanks for the lovely compliment. Have I seen you somewhere before? Like in the Inventory room?" She asked as returned the friendly gesture.

"Yeah, I don't have my own office yet, so I have to use that until I get a bigger office." he replied. "I'll leave you two alone for a while. Get acquainted. Talk amongst yourselves… fall in love." Gabby smiles as she walks away, heading back toward her friends.

As Sam and Mac continued to stare into each other's eyes, it was as if something inside them instantly clicked, like they knew somehow they were meant to be together.

But something was off. They barely saw one another at work and gave the occasional "Hey.", but that was the closest they'd even got to any point of communication, let alone face-to-face contact.

Damn, he looks good.

She really is beautiful in person.

For a few more minutes, they just stared, waiting for the other to break the awkward silence. Sam suddenly jumped at what sounded like someone clearing their throat. It was Clover. Turning around, she let out a nervous chuckle, while a shade of blush appeared across her cheeks and a sweatdrop formed on the side of her head. He puts his hand in the back of his head in an effort to hide the fact that he was obviously embarrassed and caught off guard.

"So, you gonna introduce us to your future husband or are we already uninvited to the wedding?" Alex teased with a wink. "W-Wedding?" she chokes out. "Um... I think your friends want you to introduce me, honey." Mac replied, playing off Alex's marital joke with a smirk.

How can such a gentleman be... such an ass?

"Aww, true love! I told you that you'd find your soulmate, Sammy." Clover swoons. "So, what's your name?" Alex asked. "Mac. Mac Smit. And you must be Alex." he replies as he reached out to grab her hand and kiss it.

Looking at Clover, Alex gushed, "Yep. He's a keeper." "Uh... Mac, would you excuse me for a bit while I go talk to my friends?" Sam asked politely. "Sure. I'll still be here when you get back." Mac replied with a smile.

Grabbing her friends by their wrists, Sam walked away and they proceeded to walk to the farthest area of the room, away from all the agents. "Sam, what the hell are you doing?! Get over there and mingle with Mac!" Clover yelled as she yanked her wrist out of Sam's grip.

"What am I doing? What are you two doing?! I was doing just fine over there!" Sam says. "Oh, yeah? Then why were you just standing there staring lovingly in his eyes? For what seemed to be over 10 minutes?" Alex asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Were you already undressing him with your eyes? You know, most women tend to do that when they meet someone for the first time." Clover stated. "Yeah, women like you. Well, at least you used to, anyway." Alex scoffed.

"Whatever. Look, I can prove to the both of you that I can change my flirtatious ways and be a good, loyal girlfriend to Arnold. I started at the beginning of this week. I dumped Brad and I plan to break up with Dan soon after." Clover replied in defense.

Mac looks over at the trio, smiling in astonishment as he quietly watches them talk amongst themselves. He was pretty surprised at how close they were. He started to rethink his entire approach and do a reset, as he mentally bombed at his attempt to please them, along with Sam.

Laughing, Sam asks, "You plan on dumping Dan? Clover, if he's already with Mandy, wouldn't he have been dumped by you regardless?" "Yeah, but I just want him to see what it was he gave up." Clover bragged.

"Like you're such a catch." Alex snarked with a smirk.

"Okay, you got me there. No more flirting with other guys while I'm in a relationship. Now, enough about me. You need to get back over there and make a move on your soon-to-be husband." Clover laughed.

"Clover, he's not my husband!" Sam chuckled. "Well, not yet anyway. Oh, here he comes now." Alex says. Sam suddenly began to panic. She didn't know what to say to him. What was she going to talk about? Would he be interested enough to hear what she has to say? "Hey. Just talk to him. And don't freeze up again. That'll turn him away." Clover replied.

Taking a deep breath, then exhaling, Sam slowly began to walk her way back to where Mac was still standing. "Your friends are pretty... entertaining." he replies with a chuckle. "Yeah, well sometimes they can be a little much." she replied as a shade of blush spread across her face for the second time today.

"You wouldn't want it any other way, would you? I mean, for them to be extra crazy? How long have you three known each other?" he asked.

That's good, that's good. Start off with asking her how long she's known her friends.

"Well, it wouldn't be Clover and Alex if they didn't act bizarro. Anyway, I've known them since preschool. We've spent pretty much every minute of our entire lives around each other." she replied.

Sheesh, every moment with each other? Most people would grow tired of looking at each other after 2 days. Quick! Ask about her job.

"When did you all learn you were spies and when did you start at WOOHP?" he asked. "Are you interviewing me? Why are you so curious about me and why do you want to know when I started working for WOOHP? Are you some sort of supervillain that we need to watch out for?" Sam asked, suddenly growing suspicious and raising an eyebrow.

Shit! You don't think she already knows about your past, do you? Don't worry, Scam, you got this. Don't panic. Whatever you do, DON'T panic!

"Now, why would you suddenly come to the conclusion that I am some sort of evil villain? Wait, my outfit doesn't give off any creepy vibes, does it? I'm just a regular employee working at a hotel just as you are." he replies, feeling as though a huge weight was lifted off his shoulder.

"Judging by the way you're dressed, you probably want to carry out some sort of evil plan to take over the world. And for the record, we work for a secret organization, not a hotel." Sam replied.

"Well, that's not fair. We were doing so well and now you're making assumptions about me? First off, you know WOOHP isn't a hotel, right? Jerry just uses that as a cover-up. And second, I'm hurt that you'd think something like that." Mac says, putting a hand on his chest to indicate that he actually was hurt.

"Aww, poor baby. What? Am I supposed to feel sorry for you?" Sam asked, folding her arms. "Well, I act insulted, you start to feel sympathetic towards me, we fall in love and live happily ever after. Did it work? Are you comfortable around me yet?" Mac smirks.

"Mac, to say that you're a charming guy would be a major understatement. And no, it didn't work. However, in a desperate attempt to change the subject, I have something to ask you." Sam replies.

"Okay, shoot." he says. "Have you learned anything interesting about me? Like my characteristics? Hobbies outside of work?" she asked.

"Yes, in the short time I've known you, I learned that you're an uptight girl who doesn't believe in having fun. Do you always carry a book with you everywhere you go?" he asks, rolling his eyes. "And what's wrong with bringing a book along with you?!" Sam gasped, taking offense to his insult.

"Nothing, nothing's wrong with that, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime vacation... and instead of doing what's supposed to be done - swimming, surfing, tanning, ect, you want to catch up on... The History of Hawaii? It's no wonder 'Sam No Fun' is your nickname." he boasts.

"How the hell did you know about that?!" Sam bellows as she felt her heart sink down to her stomach.

"How do you think Jerry gets the info on all of you?" he replied. "Wha-I-I." she stammered.

"Sam, I do work for your boss. It's my job to learn everything there is to know about the dozens of WOOHP agents that circle the building on a daily basis." he explained. He just kept on talking and talking. And all she could do was listen as a shade of blush spread across her cheeks.

Ugh! What's wrong with you, Sam? The man just insulted you by calling you 'Sam No Fun' and taunted you for being a bookworm. Tell him off! Don't feed into his games. Aww, but he seems sincere. Quick, change the subject.

"Enough about me and our lives as secret agents. I'd like to know a little bit about you and your humble beginnings." Sam replied. She wants to know about my not so wonderful childhood? I've kept that bottled up for years. Well, if she wants to know, I guess there's nothing left to do but to open up. Wait a minute - she wants to know how I was raised? After I just insulted her? Unless... It's just a ploy to get me to stop teasing her.

"My parents divorced when I was 6. Dad was a workaholic and cared more about his job than his marriage. I don't know, I guess it's better than having an affair with some low budget slut. After they separated, I pretty much lived with my mother up until I was 16. After college I recruited at WOOHP 2 years later, as a mission coordinator." Mac replied.

"A mission coordinator, huh? So, you help Jerr set up our missions?" she asked. "And all the other agents who came before you as well. It's a lot of work, but I'm not the only one. I've got a pair of extra hands to help me out so it doesn't feel as though I'm the only one that's got the heavy load." he replied.

Okay, you're good. She's buying it. Keep going.

"Are your parents divorced? Any siblings?" he asked. "No, they've been married going on 8 years, happily I might add. And no, I'm an only child. I don't wanna have to share my outfits with my sister." Sam replies as she rolled her eyes.

"You get along with Alex and Clover, don't you?" he asks. "Yes, I do. That's not to say that we've never gotten into an argument or two." Sam replied. Raising an eyebrow, Mac added, "And you're telling me that you wouldn't get along with your sister if you had one? You lend outfits to them all the time I assume?".

"That's what friends do, Mac. Even though we're not related, they're just like my sisters." she replied. Mac looks over at Clover and Alex, who were too busy smiling at their friend, who according to them, seemed to really be enjoying herself right now.

Wow, they really do look great together.

"Clo, what're you thinking?" Alex asks. "I'm thinking that I wanna know what our best friend is talking about." Clover replies. Before Clover could make a move, Alex stepped out in front of her. "We shouldn't evesdrop. You know she'd never let us live it down." she replied.

"That would totally make sense, if it weren't a part of the job. And hello, we're secret agents. It's what we do." Clover stated. "Yeah, we're secret agents who rid the world of demented evildoers on a daily basis, not to be nosy Rosies, Clover." Alex replies. She breathes out a long sigh and says, "But... I am a little curious about what they're talking about. Earring Communicators?"

"Never leave home without 'em." Clover replied as she took out 2 Earring Communicators, which were in her purse. She put one on behind her ear then proceeded to give Alex hers. To avoid suspicion, the two girls walked out to the balcony and sat at a nearby table, thus proceeding to listen in on their conversation.

"What do you hope to do when you get older? Do you see yourself still fighting crime or would you settle down?" Mac asks.

"Well, I hope to give up the spy gig as I get older because I want to be a mother. It'll be impossible to fight crime and change diapers on a regular basis." Sam replies.

"Sammy doesn't want to be a spy anymore?" Alex says in shock. "Wh- no. Maybe she's just waiting for the right moment to leave. She's not exactly planning on giving it up now... is she?" Clover replied.

"It's too early for her to give up. We just started this job last year. Maybe... there's a chance she does wanna quit. I mean, we were kinda forced into it, after we learned that she was recruited months before us." Alex replied. They then resumed to listening to more of their conversation.

"I think it's a little too early to be talking about retirement. I'm only 16. Retirement is for older people who've already fulfilling their goals." Sam laughed.

"So, what're you planning on doing once you give up the WOOHP life, say... 10 years from now?" he asked.

(Cuts back to inside the dining area)

Sam raised an eyebrow, asking, "Who said I'm gonna give it up? I can multitask, you know."

"Now, wait a minute. Didn't you just say that it'd be hard for you to juggle parenthood and be a full-time super agent? Who's gonna watch our kids?" Mac asked, catching her off guard.

Our kids? He talks as if I'm gonna be with him for the rest of my life! As if!

"Excuse me? Our kids? I'm not starting a family with you. We literally just met! I'm sorry, but you surely don't picture yourself with someone as 'uptight' as me, do you? Newsflash, buddy, but you're not my type and I'm not yours." Sam scoffed, folding her arms and defiantly turning away from him.

Not each other's type, huh? Okay, Tim. Time to make your move.

"Well, let me see... your type of guy has bluey-green eyes, is strong, but gentle, artistic, but with an advanced grasp of natural and applied Science, buff, but not bulky, likes dogs, and lastly, his name starts with a T." he replied.

Wow, she's pretty picky, but accurate. Except I'm allergic to dogs. I do however love Science, which played a big part in the field I'm working in.

How? What? How does he know that?! Luckily, he doesn't know about the tan skinned detail.

"Just curious. Would you by any chance be... attracted to tan-skinned men?" he asked.

Shit! He can't honestly think that I'm attracted to men with a certain skin tone... could he? No, that's ridiculous! Sam, make up an excuse!

"I'm hungry. I'm gonna go order lunch for me and my friends. Mac, it was nice meeting you. Maybe next time you can try hard not to come off as desperate. When that happens, maybe we can try again another time and talk as friends." Sam replies in annoyance as she began to walk away.

Shit, I blew it! I didn't want to run her off! That's the last thing I wanted to do. I gotta straighten this out before it ends.

"Sam, wait!" he called out. Sam stops and turns around to face him again.

"Well, are you ready to act like a gentlemen?" she asks. "How's this for a gentleman? If you're not busy, come to the Luau with me tonight." he proposes.

He's not asking me on a date, is he?

"Okay, let's say that I agree to go to this thing with you tonight. What's in it for you? Some sort of payoff?" Sam asks. "No, not at all. I just want us to go together. As friends, nothing more. I promise. No games, no hidden agendas." Mac assures.

He seems sincere. I really came off a bit harsh and... if I'm being honest, he really is sexy. It's strange. Everything he listed as qualifications for my type of guy was completely accurate. And that's exactly what Clover wanted in her perfect guy. I should continue to play hard to get, make him suffer a little bit.

"You want to go to the Luau with me, after the way I just dissed you and acted like a stuck up snob? What makes you think I'd want to ever consider going with you? Maybe Clover and Alex would be my dates." she teased.

"Well, you are definitely a snob. I mean, just look at the way you're dressed. And really? You'd ditch a chance to spend a wonderful night with a dashing, charming, not to mention ridiculously irresistible man like me for the likes of your bobbleheaded boy-obsessed and ditzy tomboyish BFFs?" he replies, slightly offended.

"Excuse me, but if you think insulting me or my friends is your way of getting me to agree to go with you, try another way, buddy." Sam replies rather coldly.

"Okay... I think we're moving a little too fast here. How does lunch sound?" he asks. "Where's my apology?" Sam asks as she turned away defiantly and folded her arms. "Uhhhh... apology?" he asked.

"Yes, apology. You didn't think that you could just woo me with an invitation to tonight's Luau, turn around and insult me, along with my friends, then try to soften it up by asking for a lunch date, did you?!" Sam snapped.

God, why's she playing so hard to get? Are women usually this hard to read?

Breathing out a heavy sigh, Mac replies, "Well, of course, I thought that, Sam. I didn't mean to come off as an insensitive jerk-"

"But you did come off as such, Mac." Sam replied. She paused for a while then responds, "But... even though you're a bit of an arrogant jerk, I'd love to accompany you to the Luau."

Thank you, God.

Look at that smirk. He thinks he's sly. Trying to sway me into going to the Luau with him, but I didn't exactly turn him down, did I? I guess it wouldn't hurt too bad to go with him. Maybe things will change later into the night.

"Listen, about earlier, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you or your friends. And I'm not just spitting out this apology because you agreed to go with me." Mac says.

"Yeah, that certainly wasn't the reason, was it?" Sam asked, tone full of sarcasm, along with a slight chuckle. "Okay, I deserved that one." he replied as he shrugged his shoulders.

Sam's POV (Voiceover)

And things certainly did change that night. It was like Mac turned into a completely different person that night. A total gentleman, or maybe that was just an act. Whatever it was, I couldn't stop myself from smiling.

We all were greeted with Leis from the sweet hostess. We each got one which represented our spysuit colors. Green for me, Red for Clover and Yellow for Al. Our mothers each got Blue, Pink, and Aqua as their signature colors.

Then the Hawaiian dancers gave a performance of a lifetime for us. We all changed in grass skirts so we could blend in. Then, since we skipped out on lunch, I followed through with my end of our bet and bought us all dinner.

After we ate, we said our goodbyes and made our way back to our rooms to get ready for the next day. Needless to say, we had a blast. I introduced Alex to Jessey and wouldn't you know it they hit it off pretty well. She was so happy with him. They talked all night long and enjoyed each other's company. I love how outgoing she is.

Jessey couldn't stop thanking me enough for introducing them to each other. They're so adorable together.

And then there's Clover, who really was trying her best to have a good time, but I could tell she was bummed out, due to the fact that Arnold was only hours away back in BH. I know she's gonna be happy to see him once we get back home, but I can't help but fight that nagging voice in my head that's telling me to side against this relationship.

Now, don't go calling me a bad friend, okay? I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of her being in a relationship with a guy who probably has built an entire shrine dedicated to her.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her, it's just odd to see her in an actual relationship with the captain of the Chess team, especially when before she treated him like a pain. She wasn't annoyed by him too much, but I just felt like she could've gone a different way about it.

I think she really thought about our conversation we had on the jet. She wants to make sure that she doesn't mess things up with him. Alex actually got through to her. She just told us that they were celebrating their 3-month anniversary, which is next week.

I can't believe that she's been dating him for only 2 months now and she's never even told us. I mean, I don't blame her for not being able to confess because she was afraid that we would judge her for being with him.

Especially me. I know I could be a bit of a negative Nancy, but I just want to make sure that this is the right thing for her to do. I don't want to see her go back to her flirtatious ways.

Mac sent me a large bouquet of roses. They were addressed to our room. They were beautiful. Al couldn't stop gushing at the thought of me having a secret admirer. She's like a little girl getting excited about her parents having a date. I told the both of them that they were being ridiculous, but they just wouldn't budge (Laughs).

But you know me. I found it to be very silly. However, somewhere in the back of my mind, I was blushing as bad as Clover was when she got to meet Rad Smitt.

I could tell that that he wasn't good at apologizing, given the fact that he was trying to avoid get another ridiculous outburst from me. He really didn't mean to come off as an insensitive jerk. I guess it's the way he's wired. I don't know if I came off as being a little braggy about my parents' marriage, but something in him changed.

When he told me that his parents divorced, I don't know, I felt like something in me should've been his sounding board. Call it a friend's intuition. I'm just happy that my parents are happily married. My mother often told me that I was the best thing to happen to her and my father.

Mac isn't like any of the other boys that I've shown interest in. Like that God awful James. I still can't believe that I was so fucking naive to think that he wanted me to be his girlfriend. That son of a bitch just wanted to use me so I could be a part of his grand scheme of kidnapping the president of the United States.

But... if I'm being honest, I like our playful banter. How could I ever think of him as a baddie? I know nothing about the guy, but I guess it has a lot to do with the training we had a year ago. If we're trained to always make assumptions about the people we meet on a daily basis, then Jerr has a lot of explaining to do. I do feel bad for assuming, though.

I have to thank my mom for introducing me to him (Again, since we barely had any face-to-face contact with each other when we were crossing paths at WOOHP).

I couldn't stop thinking about the way he looked. God, he looked so good. He had brains, seemed to be athletic, judging by the way he was built. He was muscular. He was tan, he was smart-wait... I feel like I already mentioned his genius and athletic skills. Hmm... I wonder what he looks like shirtless.

He probably has a nice pack of abs. He has a pretty strong jawline. Uh- what am I doing? I don't even know this guy and I'm already talking as if we're... soulmates. And I'd often laugh at Clover for doing that. Yeah, that makes me a hypocrite.

I can't wait to see him again. Especially when we get back to work. I want to see what he actually does. I doubt it has anything to do with setting up our missions.

The next two days just flew by. Everything that was planned for the rest of the weekend had practically flew out the window. The only things that we did was go horseback riding and attend more Luaus. Those were the best during the entire trip.

Then I visited Puu Pehe, or Sweetheart Rock. That was a must before we headed off to fly back home. Little did I know, I'd be welcomed by a very certain someone...

"Wow, it's beautiful here, isn't it?" the man asks. "Mac? What are you doing here?" Sam asked in total shock. "I always come up here to think. You know, there's a lot of history behind it." he replied.

"Really? Do tell." Sam says with a hint of purr in her voice.

Whoa! Where'd THAT come from?

Sam jumped out of her skin at her sudden explicit reply. "Are you okay? Was it something I said?" he asked.

"What? Ah-no. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to give off any weird vibes. What about the history of Puu Pehe?" she says with a laugh, trying to change the subject and hide her very obvious blush.

Is she... flirting with me?

Did I just flirt with him? Already? And we just met two days ago? This is moving way too fast. He insulted me and tried to figure out a way to ask me out on a date to the Luau. I didn't give him a chance to explain himself to me before I branded him a criminal, yet here I am, back in his orbit a second time.

"Well, it's kinda horrid. I-I don't wanna scare you off." he replied. "Oh, come on. It can't be that bad, could it?" she asks. "Well, the ending isn't too positive." he frowns, worried about her reaction.

"Just tell me. I promise you that I won't freak out." Sam pleads. Breathing out a deep sigh, Mac then began to tell the story.

"Okay. So, the history of Sweetheart Rock tells the short story of two lovers, Pehe, who was a Hawaiian maiden from Lahaina and a young warrior from Lánai who went by the name of Makakehau. He was so enticed by her beauty that he couldn't focus on anything else." he explained.

"Sounds like a majority of the guys who fall for Clover." Sam laughed. "Well, I imagine that Clover is a very beautiful girl. But this is where the story gets interesting. The woman was so beautiful she caused him to become misty eyed." he continued.

"That's so cliché." Sam scoffed.

Well, I don't think it's too cliché. That's how I felt upon seeing you for the first time. Except for the fact that I didn't cry. You are as beautiful as I imagined you'd be.

"Cliché, yes. But that's not the odd part. Makakehau then carried Pehe at the base of Manele's Cliffs to a sea cave." he replied. "So, he kidnapped her? How's that considered breathtaking?" she asked, suddenly outraged.

"Yes, in a way he did kidnap her, but at least he was trying to keep her safe." he defends. "keep her safe?! The man decided to kidnap a woman he'd admired from afar! In what universe was that considered okay?" she snapped.

Maybe it wasn't a good idea to tell her the story after all. Well, there's no point in turning back now. Keep going.

"So much for not freaking out." he teased. "Yes, I did promise to not freak out, that was before I thought there was a romantic buildup of this urban legend, but it turned dark pretty damn fast." Sam defends.

"You wanna know how it ends or not?" he asked. "Not unless they live happily ever after." Sam declared.

"Um... not quite." he replies.

I'm gonna hate myself for asking this.

Taking a deep breath, Sam reluctantly responds, "Yes, I'd like to know how it ends. Carry on."

Clearing his throat, Mac proceeded to continue the story. "So, anyway, a day after Makakehau hid Pehe away, he headed out to gather up some supplies when he suddenly heard sounds of a storm looming."

"Okay, then what does he do?" she asked. "He heads back to the cave, only to find her having drowned in the surge of waves, which were caused by the storm. Having been so overcome with grief, Makakehau carried Pehe in his arms, crying out to his ancestors and the Gods to help him climb this steep rock so he could bury her here. After he buried her there, plunged 80 ft. to his death." he finished.

Sam was now paralyzed in shock. She looked at Mac with eyes of disbelief. There had to be another scenario or some sort of happy ending to this. The warrior didn't really commit suicide a day after laying eyes on the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. Did he?

"No, that's not what happened. Y-You don't DIE a day after meeting someone, Mac! That's ridiculous! It's like Romeo and Juliet-only more horrific! And why's it called Sweetheart Rock? That story was anything BUT sweet!" Sam snapped.

"So, how will ours be written?" Mac slyly asks. "Our what?" she asked, taken aback as she put a hand on her hip.

"Our story. We officially met for the first time outside of WOOHP, you obviously couldn't take your eyes off me when we were at the Luau. There was a little moment in-between the dancing where you kept laying your head on my chest. And let's not forget how you blush every time I give you a compliment." he boasts.

God, what an ego you have, Mr. Smit. I'd smack you right now if you weren't so damn good-looking!

"I most certainly do not!" Sam lies, as yet another shade of blush appears on her face. "You know, you are a shitty liar." he stated with a smirk.

"And you're deluded." she shot back. "Me? Deluded? How so?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.

Sam huffed, "You may have been a suave gentleman for the past two nights, but I am nowhere near ready to spend the rest of my life with you! That's sooo not happening!"

Mac couldn't help but laugh. "What the hell is so funy?!" Sam asked, now fuming in anger.

Not once did I make the assumption that I wanted to be with her. She thinks that I want to be her lover.

"And what's with that damn smirk?" she asked demandingly. Laughing, Mac says, "I didn't make any assumptions, Sam. YOU did."

Sam suddenly froze on the spot at his words.

I... did. How the hell did I fall so hard so... fast in just a matter of two days? I'm a total fraud. I've been around Clover way too long that I'm starting to develop her fixations.

"Are you saying that you want to be with me, Samantha?" Mac asks with a smirk to match.

"I gotta go. Our flight leaves in a half hour." Sam says as she turns away from him and begins to walk away, immediately being stunned by her two friends who were listening to their entire encounter.

"Uh... how much of that did you guys hear?" she asked. "Just the part where Mac asked you if you wanted to be with him." Clover lied.

"Oh, please. He's bluffing. I don't want to be with him. We may've had a good time this weekend, but trust me when I say this: It'll never happen again. As soon as we get back home, we'll go right back to being co-workers." Sam declared.

"Uh-huh, sure. Whatever you say, Sammy. You know, I see it between you two. The chemistry." Alex smirked with a wink. "What chemistry, Al? You know the rules: WOOHP agents are not allowed to have inter-office romances " Sam replies.

"Sam, the guy obviously has a huge crush on you. And we mentioned that he worked at WOOHP, so just imagine how many times you'd run into him! You clearly have the hots for him or else you wouldn't have spent every waking moment with him!" Clover squealed.

"Who did Sam spend every waking moment with, Ally?" Carmen curiously asked. "Just a guy we met at the picnic, Mom. Here, let me introduce you to him. Mom, this is Sam's future husband, Mac Smit. Mac, this is my mother, Carmen Vasquez." Alex replied.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mac. Sam's been talking about you nonstop." Carmen gushed as she extended her hand out to shake his.

She probably spent the entire first night ripping me to pieces on how much of a jerk I was to her. Granted, I was a bit of a bastard, but she didn't seem to be too affected by the fact that hurled insults at her and her friends.

"Oh, really? She couldn't keep my name off her tongue?" he asked, rather pleased with the affect he already had on her. Of course, he couldn't help but smirk at the thought of that.

"I think she's in love with you." Gabby swooned.

Oh, I hope so.

"Sam, did you want to fly back on the Bling Jet with us or did you want to go with Mac?" Stella asked.

I really wanna go with him. I mean, it wouldn't hurt, right? Besides, he could probably use the company since he flew here alone. He really is a decent guy. I feel crappy about the way I reacted to that story, but it was pretty horrid.

Our story, huh? Well, maybe we could write our own book, but without the deaths. Ugh! Sam, what's the matter with you? You literally just met this man and you're already talking about writing your story with him? Have some decency! But damn, he looks so good. Sure, he's condescending at times, but... he's not all bad. Screw decency.

"Mrs. Ewing, I'm gonna go ahead and go fly home with Mac." Sam replied with a smile. "Ooh, Sam fancies Mac! Sam fancies Mac!" Alex and Clover playfully teased.

Well, at least it's not 'Sam No Fun' they're chanting this time.

While everyone headed back to their rooms to get packed, Sam turned around to face Mac. "What? Surprised by the fact that I decided to fly home with you?" she asked with a smirk.

"Well, yeah. Don't you wanna go with your mother?" Mac asked. "I would've went with them, but if I'm being honest..." she trails off. "What? What is it? I promise I won't judge." he assured. "No, I-it's silly. Never mind." she says. "What?" he asks.

"I would've flown home with them, but... I wanted to go with you. You wouldn't mind having a little company, would you?" she confessed.

"And here I thought you hated the thought of being around me." he smirked.

No, I don't think I'd ever hate the thought of being around you, Mac Smit.

A/N

Ah, Sam wanted to fly home with Mac. She's let her guard down a little I think it's just the beginning of a beautiful, but complicated love story between the two of them. I wanna know what you thought of this chapter. It pays homage to the very first episode of Totally Spies!™ I watched as a kid, The Getaway.
