The adventurers travel through the wasteland and soon arrive at a green factory in the middle of a desert; MO Co. Unlike the MO Co. in Finn's universe, the factory is surrounded by remains of an industrial district as there are ruins of several unaffiliated buildings scattered around the area, as well as cracked roads. "What happened to your BMO? Did he accidentally delete some important systems?" Finn asked Farmworld Finn. "Yeah… he's such a doof." Farmworld Finn chuckled as everyone dismounted the donkey. They walk to the entrance and meet with DMO, who looks shinier than his prime universe counterpart.
"Oh, it's you again. And you brought clones." DMO greeted Farmworld Finn. "Hey, DMO. We're here to see Moe." Farmworld Finn told DMO. Finn presents the small robot the energon canister. "He found this energon canister in some ruins." Finn said. "Oh… he's… uh…" DMO said nervously as he avoided eye contact with the adventurers.
"He's dead, isn't he?" Jake asked DMO. At that moment, a tram pulls up with several SMOs and Moe himself, although wearing a hi-tech medical harness around his frail limbs and spine. "Ho, ho! Hello there, Finn and Jake!" Moe greeted the adventurers. "Oh! It looks like you cloned yourself." he said as he noticed regular Finn. "Actually, I'm from another universe. Jake and I are helping out this Finn with an adventure." Finn said as he pointed to Farmworld Finn.
"That's nice of you. Uh, what did you need help with?" Moe asked them. Farmworld Finn presents the canister to Moe. "It's energon. Have you heard of it before?" Farmworld Finn asked. "Energon? I haven't heard of that in a very long time!" Moe said as he receives the canister. "Before the War, humans tried to use it as a sustainable power source." he commented as he examined the canister.
"Let's go to my lab and take a closer look." Moe said as he welcomed the adventurers onto his tram. They travel all the way to Moe's lab at the bottom of the factory, which is filled with more equipment than prime universe's Moe's lab. Moe places the canister on a giant centrifuge and spins it. "Now what grade do we have here?" he wondered as he looked at the readouts on the computer connected to the centrifuge. "Why did you ask if Moe was dead?" Farmworld Finn asked Jake.
"He's dead in our universe. We had to deal with AMO stealing his identity and attacking BMO." Jake answered. "He didn't have this super-crutch-suit. He was carried by a really big MO." Finn added. "AMO? I've never heard of that one." Farmworld Finn commented. Moe looked at the readouts in surprise. "Strange…" he said.
"Is something wrong with the energon?" Farmworld Finn asked Moe. "No, the energon's fine, but it has a different chemical composition." Moe said. "How different?" Jake asked. "Well, it's complicated to explain, but its molecular structure has a different set of compounds than regular energon, notably a complete absence of carbon." Moe explained. "I never really studied much on Cybertronian stuff." Finn admitted.
"I just learned about this alien stuff today." Farmworld Finn added. "That's not all. It also appears to carry a set of encrypted data, like a liquid-state drive." Moe answered. "What?" Farmworld Finn asked. "It's like a computer drive, but liquid." Finn answered. "I don't really know much about tech. I just know BMO needs batteries every once in a while." Farmworld Finn said.
"Can you crack the encryption?" Jake asked Moe. "Sorry, but this is pretty advanced even for me." Moe said as he removed the canister from the centrifuge. As he removes it, he sees a symbol on the cover, obscured by dust. "Aha! A manufacturer label!" he said before rubbing off the dust. "Oh dear…" he said as he looked at the label.
"What's wrong?" Farmworld Finn asked Moe. He shows them the logo on the canister: a curved "M" inside a red circle; the insignia of Doctor Morocco. "Morocco?!" Jake said in surprise. "You know about him?" Moe asked them. "He attacked us in Griffin Rock and Manhattan, and he was working with these bad guys called M.E.C.H. and a Cybertronian bounty hunter named Lockdown." Finn answered.
"When was this? He disappeared decades before the War." Moe asked. "About a few months ago. He made his consciousness into data and put himself in a Transformer body." Jake answered. "He did what?!" Moe said in surprise. "That happened only in our universe. I'm sure he didn't do anything like that in this one." Jake said. They hear rumbling from above.
"Do you guys have a problem with moles?" Finn asked Moe. A squad of SMOs arrives on a tram to defend Moe. "Sir, get behind us!" the SMO said as the squad came between Moe and the wall, aiming their blasters at the wall. Farmworld Finn detaches his robot claw and places a blade in its place as his Jake grows to the size of a bear. Finn deploys his robot arm's energon sword from his wrist as Jake turns his arms into spinning flails.
"Woah, cool arm." Farmworld Finn said to Finn. "Thanks, my mom made it for me." Finn said. The wall explodes into a dirt cloud as a giant drill burst through the wall. The drill reverses to reveal three MorBots emerging from the hole. The SMOs start shooting at them, starting a firefight between the robotic soldiers. Jake stretches his legs to match the height of the Transformers and swings his spiked flail-arms at them.
"Jake, slingshot!" Farmworld Finn commanded to Farmworld Jake. The dog stretches into a slingshot with his face on the base. "Come on, me. Follow my lead!" Farmworld Finn said to Finn. They jump into Farmworld Jake's slingshot pocket, and are then propelled towards a MorBot's head. They extend their sword arms at the MorBot, crashing into its T-shaped visor.
The MorBot collapses and the two Finns jump off and high-five each other. Jake crashes his flails at a MorBot, knocking it down but hurting himself in the process. "Ow! Man, I really need armour to fight these guys." Jake said as he looked at his throbbing flails. Farmworld Jake pounces on the MorBot and thrashes it around with his giant teeth like a chew toy. "You go, other me!" Jake cheered on his non-sapient counterpart.
The remaining MorBot kicks the SMOs away and rushes towards the energon canister. "Hey, get back here!" Finn yelled to the drone. They catch up with the drone and grapple onto its leg. "Go for the gaps!" Finn advised Farmworld Finn. They thrust their arm swords into the gaps in the MorBot's legs, cutting motor wiring inside it.
The MorBot collapses, but manages to grab the energon canister and transform into race car mode. The two Finn's dodge out of the way of the MorBot as it dashes towards the hole. "Bark, bark, bark!" Jake barked to Farmworld Jake. The two dogs stretch their heads towards the escaping MorBot and bite down on its rear wing. The MorBot increases its speed, kicking up dust and blowing out its exhaust into the dogs' faces.
Both Jakes sputter as the stuff got into their faces, letting go of the MorBot as it escapes into the tunnel. The tunnel collapses shortly after as loud whirring from the drill is heard. "What were those things?" Farmworld Finn wondered. "Those were MorBots. Doctor Morocco made them." Finn answered. "They're based on those Cybertronians we told you about." Jake added.
"They took the energon canister!" Moe exclaimed. "How did they even find it?" Farmworld Finn wondered. "Energon gives off unique radiation that can be easily traced. I'm guessing Morocco traced you guys coming here." Moe explained. "He really is alive in this universe." Jake said. "We have to get that canister back!" Finn declared.
"Right on!" Jake exclaimed as he stretched into a drill. Finn, Farmworld Finn, and Farmworld Jake board drill-Jake's cabin before he starts drilling. "Sorry for the mess, Moe!" Finn apologized to Moe as Jake drills into the tunnel. After they disappeared into the dirt, Moe walks to the remains of the two MorBots. "I've always wanted to take a closer look at these guys." Moe said to himself.
Jake continues to drill through the earth, following the path of soft dirt left by Morocco's drill. He then stretches his face to the inside of the cabin to talk to Finn. "Finn, did you notice anything off with these MorBots?" Jake asked Finn. "Yeah, they didn't transform like they did in our universe." Finn answered. "What do you mean?" Farmworld Finn asked Finn.
"In our universe, Transformers usually transform by moving their metal parts around until they turn into a car, like a sliding tile puzzle. The MorBots in our universe instead blows up into a cloud of metal and then reform into cars, like a million-piece jigsaw puzzle." Finn explained. "Maybe the Doc's cutting costs." Jake suggested. "That could explain why he needs the energon, so he can synthesize it or something." Finn added. "What about the data in the energon?" Farmworld Finn said. "Yeah, what's with that? I've never heard of data stored in energon, or even liquids." Jake said.
"We'll just have to find out once we beat the info from his artificially-intelligent butt." Finn said. They soon reach the end of the tunnel where Jake breaches through. The adventurers find themselves inside a cave. Jake stretches back into dog form and they look around. "There, tracks!" Farmworld Finn pointed to a set of caterpillar tracks on the ground.
"Let's follow it." Finn said. They walk out of the cave and find themselves in a barren plain with nothing but dry desert. They follow the tracks for a very long time, getting very tired in the process. "I knew we should've brought Afterburn." Jake panted. "What's Afterburn?" Farmworld Finn asked tiredly.
"My car." Finn answered. "You have a car? Sweet." Farmworld Finn said. Finn soon sees a black shape in the distance. "Hey, what's that?" Finn pointed. They walk to the shape and find the charred remains of the drill, apparently blown up by the MorBot.
"It's the drill!" Jake said. "And no trace of the MorBot." Finn said. They investigate the area and fail to find any further traces of the MorBot. "No footprints, and no tire tracks." Jake noted. "Is anyone else overheating?" Farmworld Finn wondered before he looks at Farmworld Jake, severely panting from exhaustion.
"Looks like its water break time." Finn said as he removes his backpack. He and Farmworld Finn remove water bottles from their backpacks, hand some to their Jakes, and drink. "Ah… refreshing." Farmworld Finn said. "Where did that MorBot go?" Jake wondered. "It could've drove away. The wind must've swept away its tracks since they're lighter than the drill." Finn suggested.
"It could've taken to the air." Jake said. "How?" Farmworld Finn asked. "I dunno, a small plane or helicopter." Finn answered. "What're those?" Farmworld Finn asked. "You really don't know a lot about tech, do you?" Finn asked Farmworld Finn.
"I'm just a simple farm boy. The most I know about tech is dad's tractor." he answered. "Maybe your fancy robot arm can help us." Farmworld Finn suggested. "I think it can. I used a radiation scanner to identify the canister's energon. I'm not sure it can ping a large area, though." Finn answered. "Finn, have you read the instruction manual your mom gave you?" Jake asked. "There's an instruction manual?" Finn asked.
"Yeah, it's all in your arm's data thingy." Jake said. Finn opens the U.I. on his arm and finds a document detailing the extensive use of his arm. "Oh yeah, I forgot." Finn said. "You did this with the arm P.B. gave you, too." Jake added. They stay silent as they drink their water.
"Wait a minute, I'm a dog! I can just smell the MorBot's exhaust!" Jake realized. "Hurry before you lose the scent." Finn said.
To be continued…
