Kristof Took

Story Brook

"Come on, Buggy." Emma growled as the yellow VW came to a stop. "Don't quit on me now!" The car gurgled before there was a loud popping sound. "Well…that's just great."

"At least we made it to the woods." Frodo said. "Let's set up some tents, and we can start looking for our lost queen."

"Elsa!" Anna shouted after closing the door when the team set up their first campsite in the woods. "It's me! Anna! Your sister! Remember? The one who didn't mean to make you freeze everything!" Emma and Frodo stood nearby, watching Anna as she sadly looked around before turning back to them. "Of course, none of this would have happened if she had just told me her secret." Anna giggled. "She's a stinker!" Anna turned and went to continue her search but slipped down a small hill and into a creak.

"Anna!" Ruby shouted, quickly running to her aid, Frodo following behind her.

"I'm okay…" Anna replied. "Cold…cold, cold, cold, cold, cold!" Frodo quickly took off his jacket and wrapped it around Anna's shoulders after Ruby helped her out of the river. "Snow…it h-had to be snow…" Anna stuttered. "Sh-she couldn't have had tropical powers that filled the Fjords with warm s-sand, and w-warm sun, and w-warm…fire!" She gasped, noticing a small cabin nearby.

"Guys, we found better shelter than tents!" Ruby called up to Emma and Belle.

"Let's go Be- I mean, Lacey." Emma said, following the team. They walked over to the cabin. Ruby reached up and knocked some of the snow off the sign.

"Oaken's Wandering Trading Post." Emma read aloud.

"Oh! And sauna!" Anna added as more snow fell off the sign.

The five walked into the cabin, feeling warmer. They looked around to see a man sitting at a desk.

"Yoo-hoo!" He greeted. "Big summer blowout!" He was a large, muscular man, wearing a colorful sweater and matching beanie.

"Hello." Anna said. "Um…what kind of supplies do you sell?"

"Our summer supplies are all on sale!" The man replied cheerfully.

"What about winter stuff?" Emma asked.

"That would be our winter department." The man replied, pointing to a small, empty corner.

"Great." Emma mumbled.

"Did anyone else pass through here? Say…I don't know…a lady with light blond hair and blue eyes?"

"The only people crazy enough to be in this storm, is your group, dear." The storeowner replied. Another man burst into the cabin, his face covered and he was completely covered in snow. "You and this fellow. Yoohoo! Big summer blowout!" He greeted.

Anna leaned against the front counter, looking uneasy.

The stranger walked up to the counter and leaned in, looking Anna in the eye.

"Carrots." He muttered.

"Huh?"

"Behind you."

"Oh! Sorry!" Anna moved away from the counter, noticing a small shelf of groceries. The stranger picked up a bag of carrots and placed them on the counter. He then moved to another area and picked up some rope and a pick-axe.

"Such crazy weather." The storeowner said. "Wherever could it be coming from?"

"The north mountain." The stranger replied.

"The north mountain?" Anna repeated to herself as the stranger set the items down.

"Thirty dollars." The shop owner said.

"What? No! Ten!" The stranger replied. Frodo slowly walked up to him.

"You see, with the weather, our supply and demand are causing a big problem." The storeowner explained.

"You want to talk about a supply and demand problem? I'm cursed to sell ice for a living!" The stranger retorted.

"Well…that's a rough business to be in right now!" Anna said, attempting to lighten the mood. She paused and cleared her throat. "No really, that's unfortunate."

"How about I lower it to 20 dollars?" The storeowner bargained.

The stranger sighed. "I guess I can make an exception."

"So…about the north mountain…" Anna continued. "Did it seem…magical?"

"Yes!" The man said impatiently, pulling down his mask. "Now back up, while I deal with-"

"Pippin!" Frodo shouted before running forward to embrace his cousin.

"Frodo?!" Pippin gasped, returning the embrace. "Wha…what are you…? Do you know what's going on here?" The hobbit asked. "One day, I woke up as Kristof Took, and spent hours picking and selling ice! Next minute, I woke up as Peregrin Took again, but had nothing else to do with meself except go out and chop more ice to sell! Now there's snow in July!"

"Oh, Pip!" Frodo pulled out his wallet and slapped thirty dollars onto the counter. "If you help us, I'll explain on the way!"

Pippin drove through the woods in a large, nice truck. While Pippin drove, Anna sat in the passenger's seat, while Emma, Frodo, and Belle sat in the back. Ruby sat in the bed, enjoying the wind on her face.

"Hold tight, I like to go fast." Pippin informed.

"I like fast." Anna said, resting her feet on the dashboard.

"Hey! Put yer feet down!" Pippin yelled. "What were you raised in, a barn?"

"No, I was raised in a castle." Anna retorted.

"Sam wouldn't approve of your driving, Pip." Frodo teased. Pippin only smiled, happy knowing Sam was alive and well.

"So, what exactly made the queen go all ice-crazy?" Pippin asked.

"Well…" Anna hesitated. "It was my fault, I got engaged and she freaked out because I had just met him, you know, that day."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, you got engaged to a man you just met that day?!"

"Yes, and she wouldn't bless the marriage!"

"You got engaged to a man you just met, that day?" Pippin repeated.

"Yes, and she got mad, and I got mad, and I pulled her glove off-"

"You mean to tell me you got engaged to someone you met that day?!"

"Yes! I said that, pay attention!" Anna snapped. "But the thing is, she wore the gloves all the time. And I thought…maybe she has a thing about dirt!"

"But why would you do that?" Pippin asked. "Have your parents ever warned you about talking to strangers?"

"Yes they did…" Anna replied, slightly scooting away from Pippin. "But Hans is not a stranger."

"Oh yeah, what's his last name?" Pippin taunted.

"Of…the…Southern Isles." Anna replied hesitantly.

"Best friend's name?"

"Probably John."

"Eye color?"

"Dreamy."

"Favorite food?"

"Sandwiches!"

"Foot size?"

"Foot size doesn't matter."

"Hey!" Frodo gasped from the back seat.

"If you're a hobbit, it does matter." Pippin added. "But you haven't eaten with him yet."

"Wow…you really don't know the guy you're engaged to?" Emma asked.

"What if you don't like the way he eats?" Belle added.

"What if you don't like the way he picks his nose?" Pippin taunted again.

"Picks his nose?" Anna raised an eyebrow.

"And eats it!" Pippin added.

"Excuse me sir, he's a prince!" Anna defended.

"All men do it." Pippin smirked.

"Ew!" Anna crinkled her nose. "It doesn't matter, it's true love!"

"It doesn't sound like true love." Pippin stated.

"Are you a love expert, Pip?" Frodo teased.

"No." Pippin admitted. "But during the curse…I've made friends who are."

"You have friends that are love experts?" Anna snorted as Pippin slowed the truck down. "I'm not buying it."

"Stop talking." Pippin said.

"No, I would like to meet these-"

"Shush!" Pippin hissed, covering Anna's mouth. She quickly pushed his hand away, ready to yell at Pippin and give him a piece of her mind.

"Shush!" He hissed again.

"What is it?" Frodo whispered.

"Wolves." Pippin said, turning back to the road and slamming on the gas. "Mean ones."

"Ruby!" Emma yelled. Ruby immediately turned into her wolf form and began to fight off wolves that began chasing them.

"What?!" Belle shouted. "Did…did anyone else see that?!"

"Yes," Emma reassured Belle. "We may have to explain later!"

"Someone, take the wheel!" Pippin insisted. Frodo quickly climbed into the front and took over. Pippin climbed out the window and onto the roof, carrying his old sword from Lothlorien.

"I want to help!" Anna said, grabbing Pippin's guitar that sat with her in the front seat.

"No, I don't trust your judgement!" Pippin said to her, as he began to climb on the roof.

"Excuse me?" She asked, continuing her climb.

"Who marries a man she just met?!" Pippin asked, slashing at a wolf.

"It's true love!" Anna shouted. She now stood on top of the truck and swung the guitar in Pippin's direction. Pippin ducked. Anna hit a wolf with the guitar, making it whimper in pain.

"Whoa…" Pippin breathed, before a wolf grabbed him and knocked him off the truck.

"Perejim!" Anna shouted again.

"It's Peregrin!" Pippin shouted back, holding onto a rope and being dragged behind the truck. Ruby fought off any wolves attempting to bite at him. Pippin quickly climbed back onto the bed of the truck. He gasped when he noticed a cliff ahead.

Pippin climbed onto the top and picked Anna up- bridal style.

"Hey!" She hissed before he threw her off the truck and onto Ruby's back, who was running at the side, ready to catch her.

Emma helped Belle out the window and onto Ruby's back as well.

"Get read to jump, Frodo!" Emma shouted, before climbing onto the roof. Frodo put the truck on cruiser and climbed up as well. Ruby jumped across the cliff and landed on the other side safely. The truck began its' leap across the abys. Emma, Frodo, and Pippin each jumped off. Emma and Frodo had made it safely. Pippin had barely made it to the edge. He glanced down at his truck that fell and nearly exploded when it hit the bottom.

"Sven…" He said in dismay. "Aw…and I just paid him off!" He slowly began to slide down the cliff. Pippin struggled to keep his grip in the snow, but he was quickly pulled up by Ruby, who was still in wolf form.

"Whoa…" Anna breathed, looking over the edge of the cliff.

"That. Was. Amazing!" Belle laughed. "I haven't had that much excitement in… I don't know how long." She suddenly clutched her head and winced in pain.

"Belle?" Emma asked. "I mean, Lacey?"

As quickly as the random headache appeared, it seemed to fade. Belle straightened and looked around. "Sorry, it's still Lacey."

Frodo and Emma exchanged a glance before Ruby turned back to her normal self. "I'm sorry if I scared you, Lacey."

"Not at all." Belle smiled. "I don't mind one bit…after all, you tried to help me when I was in the hospital, remember?"

"That's right." Ruby smiled. "So, you don't mind me being…?"

"Of course not!" Belle smiled.

"Frodo, she seems to be acting like Lacey less now." Emma whispered to Frodo.

"Maybe the excitement, or seeing magic is helping her memories come back." Frodo whispered back. "Or maybe Belle is still in there, trying to break her own curse from within."

"Whatever the case, I think we're making progress." Emma added.

Anna walked over to Pippin, who was lying on the ground, devastated.

"I'll replace your truck…and your guitar…and everything else…" She said. "And…I understand if you don't want to help us anymore…" She trailed off and walked over to Belle and Ruby. Frodo walked over to Pippin and knelt by his side.

"Of course I don't want to help you guys anymore!" Pippin groaned, turning to Frodo. "In fact, this whole thing has prevented me from helping anyone ever again!" He complained, sitting up.

"Pippin…you know your way around these parts…we could die on our own." Frodo said.

"I can live with that." Pippin retorted.

"I can't buy you a new truck if I'm dead." Frodo replied.

Pippin sighed. "You know…there are rare occasions where I really don't like you. Fine! I'm coming!"

"Really?" Anna asked. "I mean, sure…we'll let you tag along!"

"I guess I'll get a green truck instead of blue, and I'll name it Merry." Pippin shrugged after Frodo helped him to his feet.

"Speaking of which, where is Merry?" Frodo asked.

"I haven't been able to contact him…I have no idea where he is…or anyone from the Shire is…" Pippin said.

"Hm… well…he's all that's left of our little group." Frodo informed.

"But not of The Fellowship." Pippin added.

"In that case…we have a long way to go."

Hey guys! So…super short chapter. But it's getting the climax rolling. And I didn't have ideas for flashbacks or the stuff for Story Brook. But of well, I'm still excited for this chapter because Pippin is here! Yay! I'm trying to type this and my cat keeps getting in my face and is trying to sleep on my hand… why are you like this Topaz?!
