No words can express the amount of anger Seto is feeling at this very moment on the night of his wedding. He stands in the middle of the park that he has worked so hard on. Most of it lies in ruin and his greatest attraction, the White Lightning, is in shambles. Kisara stands behind him with her eyes lowered. This was supposed to be the best day of their lives, celebrating their new beginnings. But something always seems to get in the way.
"I wish you had called me," Yugi says as he and Atem stand at a further distance. "I would've been there to help."
Atem looks over to Mana who sits down beside Téa on a bench that is surprisingly not touched. She hisses when her leg makes contact and lifts her dress a little. On the side of her leg is a cut that is a few inches long. She assumes that it happened when she jumped over the gate to escape the Valkyrie. Fortunately for her, it looks minor.
"One of the monsters went directly for Mana and I don't think it was a coincidence," Atem says, now looking at his brother. "It just confirms my suspicions."
"You mean…?"
"I'm going to pay Ziegfried a visit," Kaiba says, stomping over to the two brothers, his eyes filled with rage. "I'm sure he's hiding at his office right now."
"Kaiba, would that be wise?" Atem asks.
"Yeah, it could be a trap!" Yugi points out. "If you're gonna go there, then you need to have a plan."
"I have a plan alright," Kaiba says, clenching his fists.
"Seto, stop," Kisara pleads. "I get that you're upset right now, but I don't need you getting yourself hurt!"
"I'm not going to sit here while he continues to ruin what I worked so hard for, understand?!"
Mana frowns. "Come on you guys. Don't fight on your wedding day."
Kaiba sucks his teeth in agitation and turns his sights on Atem. "Who else was here during your duel besides you and Mana? Anyone?"
Atem shakes his head. "No one at all. It's the same as last time. Those monsters wreck their havoc and they disappear without a trace."
"The moment you realized something was wrong, you should have contacted me immediately!"
Atem looks at him in disbelief. "You're seriously putting this back on me?"
"Seto, don't!" Kisara begs, holding onto his arm to keep him from stepping up to Atem.
"Aw man," Téa groans, feeling an argument coming on.
"It seems like the only one that cares about the future of this company is me!" Seto continues.
"You can't be serious. Is that what you really think?" Atem asks, narrowing his eyes.
"Yeah, Kaiba, that isn't true!" Yugi chimes in.
"If you all hadn't snuck into his theme park, none of this would have happened! This is clearly him retaliating! He's not going to stop until he brings my whole company to the ground!"
"We did that with good intentions, Seto!" Kisara exclaims, stepping back from him. She can't believe how he is acting right now. Clearly Seto is taking his anger out on everyone that is present at the moment. But he's getting mad at the wrong people.
"Yeah. We were trying to save your company's reputation," Mana says, standing to her feet. "If it weren't for that then—"
"I would have picked up the pieces on my own," he cuts in.
"Oh come on! Don't act like you weren't relieved when the truth was revealed!"
"Mana, calm yourself," Atem tells her, keeping their unborn child in mind and not wanting her to get worked up.
"Every time you've been in a tough situation, who was there to help?!" Mana yells, stepping up to Seto. "We have literally put our bodies and safety on the line for your company and you act so ungrateful! You can barely say thank you!"
"Regardless of the bomb incident, I would have slowly rebuilt my reputation on my own. I don't need you all butting in and making matters worse like you did here," he says, coldly staring her down.
Atem pulls Mana back and he leads her away, preparing to leave. But not without saying one final thing. "If it weren't for Mana disposing of the bomb, your reputation would have been the last thing to worry about," he says in a low tone. "Blood would have been on your hands and there was a slim chance your company would have survived something like that."
Yugi and Téa get up as well and join Atem and Mana. Seto narrows his eyes as he watches the group leave. He shrugs his shoulders and turns around, only to be met by Kisara's angry gaze. "What, you're mad at me too?" he asks, already knowing the answer.
"Seto, sometimes you give such horrible treatment to the people who love you and only want to see you succeed."
"Kisara—"
"Stop acting like you don't need help. Because when things went down, who did you turn to or who was the first to leap into action?" At the opening banquet when the attacks first occurred, Atem and Yugi were the ones who fought off the enemy and led the guests to safety, with help from her and Mana. When he became aware of the bomb, Mana was the one he turned to for help. And when things went haywire at the Kaiba Dome, Yugi and Atem were once again there to handle it. So whether he wants to admit it or not, he needs them too.
"Do better." And with that, she walks off, leaving him to be alone with his thoughts and the damage of his park.

Mana slowly opens her eyes the next morning, letting out a light groan. Lying sideways, she tries to roll over to her back, but a particular someone is preventing her from doing so. As her eyes get more in focus, she notices Atem facing her, still fast asleep with his arms wrapped around her, similar to a kid clutching onto their teddy bear. Her eyes then go to her phone and she reaches over to grab it, revealing a text from Kisara. She taps on the message and squints her eyes slightly, reading though it. Shaking her head, she puts her phone back down and focuses her attention on her sleeping husband.
"Atem," she says softly. His face scrunches up briefly before burying it in her shirt, attempting to block out any sunlight. "You okay?"
"Mmm," is all he can muster to say. It feels like someone is slamming a hammer into his brain and his stomach feels woozy.
"You know, after the drinking you did last night, I don't think it was wise of you to summon two monsters in that battle. Pretty reckless if you ask me," she lightly scolds him.
"Did I really have a choice?" he mutters, his eyes closed shut. She of all people wants to talk about being reckless? Given her history, she has no room to talk. "Besides, I know my limits. I knew I couldn't handle any more than the two that I summoned. And I didn't summon anything over seven stars. Not reckless at all."
"But you're still in pretty rough shape at the moment," she says, noting how he hasn't even opened his eyes yet to avoid any additional discomfort. "Summoning monsters can take a lot out of you already…I couldn't imagine being under the influence and doing it."
"I'll be fine," he assures her. "Mind making me a snack and a glass of water?"
He finally releases his hold on her and she rolls out of bed. "Just be careful next time. I just got you back. I don't want to lose you."
Atem smirks, chuckling lightly. The irony of the conversation they're having. "Now you have but a small taste of how you used to make me feel all the time," he points out and she rolls her eyes with a smile.
Minutes later, she returns with a light snack that will help him recover from his hangover. Eggs with a side of wheat toast and a glass of water. He slowly sits up in bed to eat it and seemingly with each bite, the pain in his head begins to subside and becomes less severe. Mana sits back on the bed next to him, handing him some aspirin to help with the headache and he reluctantly takes it, not being a huge fan of taking medicine. The events from last night begin to creep up in his mind and he lets out a sigh.
"I know…" Mana says, already know what's going through his head. "Kisara texted me this morning. Apparently Seto paid Ziegfried's office a visit after we left."
"I'm shocked," he replies sarcastically. Since when does Kaiba ever listen to anyone's advice?
"Apparently he wasn't there. And he wasn't at his theme park either," she tells him, crossing her arms over her chest. "I guess he's got his people running it for him while he's doing who knows what."
"So he wrecks havoc and goes back into hiding for who knows how long until he decides to pop up again," Atem assumes.
"That seems to be the pattern. I'm so sick of that guy. Nice hair or not, he's a coward." She folds her arms with a pout.
"And once again we don't have any proof of him actually doing the deed. So even if Kaiba throws accusations out there, he's just going to deny it like last time and claim he's being framed…"
"Or twist things around to try and get people back on his side after those tabloids speculated that he was jealous of Seto." She watches as Atem finishes the last of his snack and places the plate and empty glass on the nightstand next to him. "Speaking of Seto…"
Atem grunts. He was hoping that she wouldn't bring up their last interaction. "What about him?"
"I know the things he said bothered you…because it bothered me too."
"I'd like to say the things he says surprises me, but it never ceases to amaze me how low he can go with his comments," Atem says. "He's very selfish and arrogant."
"Very," Mana agrees with a frown.
"You're not nauseous for a change," Atem says, wanting to change the subject.
"Oh, just wait on it," Mana replies, placing a hand on her stomach. "This little human is unpredictable."
Atem smirks. "Sounds like someone I know," he jokes and she lightly pushes him before laying back down on her side.

A roar of cheers sound through the arena where Atem has just finished a duel against one of the top duelist in America. After a close match, Atem has been named the winner. He steps down from the dueling platform, walking over to give a handshake to his opponent before waving briefly to the audience.
"That was a great duel!" Yugi exclaims, watching from the front row.
"Yeah, my heart was pounding the whole time!" Téa agrees. "How does he always manage to keep his cool?"
Mana chuckles. "That's Atem for you," she replies. She places a hand on her large stomach, feeling the baby kick and toss inside. Months have gone by since the last park incident with no sign of Ziegfried anywhere. The park is close to completion and reopening, with the final construction underway on the destroyed White Lightning coaster.
She feels the baby kick her lower abdomen and her eyes widen. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom you guys," she tells them.
"You alright?" Téa asks. "You're not planning on having a baby in a public restroom are you?"
Mana giggles and shakes her head. "No. But apparently she is having a fight with my bladder at the moment, so I should probably go." She stands up and wobbles away.
Atem walks past Kaiba without saying a word or looking in his direction. If it weren't for his love of dueling and his fans, he wouldn't be there drawing tons of crowds each and every time he appears, not to mention the amount of money he brings in. Kaiba's words of no one caring about the future of the company greatly offended him. While the others have somewhat been able to get back on speaking terms with Kaiba, Atem outright refuses unless it is work related. He will not say anything to him outside of that until Kaiba apologizes.
"Congrats, bro!" Yugi says, standing up and giving him a high five. "You were great out there!"
"Thank you, Yugi," Atem says with a smile before looking at the empty seat. "Where's Mana?"
"She had to go to the little girls room," Téa informs him. "Can you believe you only have one more month? How are you feeling? Are you two ready?"
"Ready as we'll ever be," Atem replies. "With everything going on, I'm just hoping the baby won't come early. She's been having contractions here and there."
"Yeah she told me! Poor girl. She's had it rough since day one, but she's taking it like a champ."
The sound of the toilet flushing and the hand dryer going off echoes through the hall when Mana opens up the door. She sighs in relief and pouts, poking her stomach. "Almost didn't make it in time cuz of you," she scolds her unborn daughter playfully.
"Well if it isn't the great and powerful Mana." Arcana walks down the hall in her direction and she grins. "You're ready to pop any day now, huh?"
"Almost! Did you catch the duel?"
"Yes. It doesn't surprise me that he came out victorious." Hearing footsteps approaching, they turn to see Atem. "Speaking of…"
"Arcana. Long time no see," Atem greets with a smirk.
"Hello father to be. How does it feel knowing you'll be outnumbered?" he asks and Atem raises an eyebrow, not sure what he's getting at. Arcana chuckles. "Not only will you have two girls in the house, but two magicians as well."
"I'll manage," he responds, though it sometimes slips his mind that his child will inherit abilities from Mana as well.
"Do you have a plan as to how you'll handle the little one's abilities?"
"Hm?" Mana tilts her head. It's definitely not a subject that has come up. "Well I honestly haven't thought that hard on it. I was just gonna let it come naturally I guess. The moment she starts displaying her abilities, I'll guide her through. How exactly do you handle it?"
"My child has already learned how to levitate," he replies and Mana's jaw drops.
"Seriously?! But they're barely a year old right?! I didn't know how to do that until I was well into my youth!"
"The earlier the better," he replies with a shrug.
'Sheesh. And I thought I was bad,' Mana says in her head, a drop of sweat going down her temple.
"After you finally give birth, come by the tent so I can whip you back in shape. I know you're just itching to use your magic again."
"Uh…" Without a doubt she is. She can't even believe that she has gone this long without using it at all. She went from using her abilities for the simplest tasks such as fetching different items around the house, to actually having to walk over to get the item. But the thought of using them again makes her feel a little anxious. What if doing so brings back that 'rush'? She doesn't ever want to be in a position where she and Atem aren't talking anymore and worst— not being together.
"It'll be good for you," Atem replies and she gasps lightly before looking over at him. "If anyone's gonna get you back to being your best, I have no doubt that Arcana will be able to do so." He turns his head, a confident smirk appearing on his lips that truly takes Mana off guard. But she soon returns the look. It's nice to know that he has faith in her.
"Hey bro?" Yugi peeks from around the corner further down the hall. "Kaiba wants to see us."
"Pass," Atem replies. A request this late in the day is bound to be outrageous. "Tell him Mana and I are walking out the door."
Yugi sighs. "Come on. Let's just get it over with so we can go home."
Mana shakes her head and rolls her eyes with a smile. "Go ahead Atem. I can wait."
Growling inwardly, he leaves, following Yugi to the elevators. Arcana blinks a few times. "Is there some sort of tension between Kaiba and Atem?"
Mana giggles. "There's always tension."
"I'm not going anywhere," Atem says, standing alongside Yugi in front of Kaiba's desk. Kaiba has just requested them to travel to America to do an appearance on a popular news station and a signing. "Mana is too far along in her pregnancy."
"She's eight months. That gives you a whole month," Seto says. "I'm only asking you to be gone for two days."
"That's not how that works Seto," Kisara butts in, sitting on the couch behind him.
"What are the odds of her giving birth this weekend?"
Atem crosses his arms over his chest and Yugi chuckles nervously. Why does he always have to be caught in the middle of their back and forth? Though he doesn't blame his brother's reaction.
"This could really amp up our sales of the duel disk in America. Besides, everyone is already aware that you two are scheduled to show up. They've already released the promos. You wouldn't want to disappoint your fans would you?" Seto presses on.
Atem grunts. Doesn't he realize he has other priorities? As always, he's only thinking of himself. Clearly their argument months ago hasn't changed a thing. There are times where he wants to bail on anything Seto has scheduled for him, just to show him how much he truly needs him. But he doesn't like to disappoint his fans.
"I'm going to have to discuss this with Mana," Atem says, turning to walk to the elevator.
"Great. The plane tickets have already been purchased."
"That wasn't a yes, Seto. I'm going to talk this over with Mana first," he reiterates firmly.
YGOYGOYGOYGOYGOYGO
Mana sighs in relief as she lowers herself into the hot bath water that Atem has prepared for her. With all of the muscle aches from her growing stomach and all of the walking she has done, this bath is very much needed. She leans her head back and enjoys the water providing comfort to her whole body.
"How is it?" Atem asks, bringing in a towel and her slippers.
"It's perfect as always," she replies with a smile. "I'm so ready for the tiny human to leave. I'm about to serve her her eviction notice."
"Well don't do that just yet."
"Hm?"
Atem leans up against the wall with his arms folded. "Kaiba wants me and Yugi to fly to America for an interview and signing," he tells her. He isn't sure how she will react to the news. He assumes she won't be happy to hear that, especially with her due date being around the corner.
"Oh? For how long?"
"Two days."
Mana cringes. "Geez. You guys are gonna be tired and have no time to recover from a long flight like that."
Atem's eyes widen with both shock and disbelief. Maybe it hasn't registered to her that he would be gone for two days while she is nearing the end of her pregnancy. "Mana…"
Her eyes open and she turns her head toward him. "What?"
"Don't you think it'll be too risky?"
"I'll be fine Atem. It's only two days. What could happen?"
"Oh I don't know…you giving birth when I'm not here, perhaps?"
"Well we're not gonna think like that," she says, cupping her hands under the water to pour it on her exposed stomach, doing so repeatedly.
Atem grips the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb, closing his eyes in deep thought. On the one hand, it is only two days that he will be gone. Then he'll be right back, hopping on the earliest flight. But on the other hand, it is two days without Mana and anything can happen. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself if she gave birth alone. And though she is urging him to go, he knows that she won't be happy if he wasn't there while she gave birth either.
"Everything will be fine," she assures him once more, bringing him out of his thoughts. "Have fun and bring me a souvenir, why dontcha?"
Atem sighs heavily. "Fine," he says reluctantly. "But the moment you start feeling any contractions that are close together, you call me immediately." She salutes him playfully and he shakes his head, his eyes scrolling down to her huge stomach. As if talking to the baby telepathically, he tells her to stay inside until he gets back. And he hopes that she will listen.
