narutoxasuna25 - I should of but at the time, a Remake wasn't considered, plus as I said before, I was rather burnt out from story writing by consecutively writing Chapters of the original like I spend a whole day typing a chapter, upload, wait the next day of waiting for reviews, next day write new chapter and so on, the Gladiator Beast segment of the Original took 3 to 4 back to back writing days because I didn't want to spilt it up into parts and I have a hatred for that deck for constantly swapping monsters around and have remember their effects.
Elbarto4000 - Well, with the release of the archetypes since ARC-V's conclusion, a lot more stuff has come out to be more helpful, only problem is, my usual source with YGOPro isn't a viable option anymore, so I'm searching for other card databases to help me with that since some like Duelling Nexus are very word based and considered the amount of cards... can't remember every one of them!
Dranzer - That is because, at the time the original was written the only newest cards at the time were up to Red-Eyes Slash Dragon and the Summoned SKull Archetype with Ritual, Xyz and Synchro versions took months at a time. Sawatari will be be getting more screentime in this fic than in the original, I assure you of that.
emiyaryo - Ah yes, the Red-Eyes Link Monster, that will most definitely be converted into a non-Link Monster card, no Link Summons are allowed here!
Guest - That story is currently shelved but it might make a return in the future depending on circumstances and ideas for said story, I cannot promise anything but its nice to know there is a Spanish reader though!
T-wrecks13 - There's no issue with rereading a story if you enjoy it so much, my only problem when I read something, it stays in my memory a bit longer than necessary like with video games, I have to wait like almost six months or so before it disappears from my brain.

Haruto's duel disk was on standby and he moved to get ready for a duel but paused as Yuya, Yuzu, Gogenzaka approached him from all sides and Haruto had to sheepishly put his hand behind his head, obviously embarrassed.

The group turned around to see the various competitors all looking ready to duel.

Haruto drawn a card and placed it on his Duel Disk as a flash of white occurred and surrounding him was Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon, Summoned Skull and it's counterpart, Red Eyes Archfiend of Lightning.

Haruto gave a smile before it cut away to reveal him flying on Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon's back, soaring with into the sky.

The LSD top ranking students, Sawatari, Shun, Sora, Reira and Reiji from the bottom up to the top, posing before it zoomed in Reiji's glasses, causing the lens to brighten up and reveal a silhouette.

The scene changed to Duel Monsters cards falling as a silhouette figure looked on ominously behind a glass window and the cards seemingly absorbed into a machine.

Haruto was riding Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon as Yuya was flying upwards on Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon reared back its head to fire upon Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon but then Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon appeared to block the attack as Yuto briefly appeared.

Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Odd-Eyes Pendulum came at Haruto and Red Eyes Archfiend of Lightning appeared to protect him.

A white silhouetted dragon appeared behind a D-Wheel riding towards the screen and drifted to reveal a young man's face under his helmet before it changed to a purple background with a shadowed youth with purple eyes.

Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning and Dark Rebellion clashed before an explosion occurred, the two monsters obscured from view before Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon soared out from the smoke, the two dragons letting loose their own respective attacks in mid-collision, causing an even bigger explosion.
Ano kumo wo tsukinukete mabush yume wo aozora ni egako
(I'll break through those clouds, and draw my dazzling dream across the blue skies!)
The smoke cleared away to reveal Yuya riding Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in the clouds and a rocket comes out of nowhere, soaring towards the atmosphere and Kurosaki crossed his arms on Raid Raptors – Rise Falcon before blasting off into the distance.

Yuya leapt from from the sky and landed on the Maiami Duel Championship logo as his past opponents along with Yuzu, Gongenzaka,, Yoko, Shuzo, and Haruto, all looking up at the screen.
Chapter 2
A Different Kind of Duelling
-You Show Duel School-
Haruto followed Yuzu to a building and he looked upon it, it seemed like an odd building, from what he saw, there was a rock climbing zone behind the building, a red spiral staircase with no banister to hold onto to while it lead up into a what seemed to be an unfinished block with what appeared to be a green cage over it.
Haruto took note there was a yellow slide extending from the right side of the building that appeared unfinished and curled it's way around until it came out underneath near what appeared to be double green doors with a blue tube leading up to what appeared to be a small room or perhaps a bungalow type of build with on its left side attached was a cylinder structure with no supports underneath, he guessed was a living room or something with a view of outside.
"Is this… really a school, it more looks like somebody misplaced several foundations, in fact, how has it not fallen over yet?" Haruto had to wonder and he looked to Yuzu. "Er... Yuzu, why is all of the building in various places and has... well things no school would have?" Haruto asked and Yuzu blinked.
"You never saw a Duel School before?" Yuzu asked him and received a nod and so Yuzu continued. "Well, there are many different Duel Schools that focuses on certain aspects, ours is Entertainment Duels, we perform with acrobatics to get Action Cards and well, entertain audiences much like magicians, one of my friends, Gongenzaka is in a different school who duels much differently, in his school, they only stand completely still and not get any Action Cards, I believe it was called Steadfast Duelling."
Haruto blinked in confusion. "I see… I never thought Duels had to have well, style? I always usually stuck to standing still and well, doing the usual." Haruto pointed out and Yuzu led him inside the building through the green doors, up a spiral staircase into what Haruto believed was the viewing spot of the glass window room.
"Do Actions Duels get… dangerous?" Haruto had to ask and Yuzu looked to him. "Sometimes, since the Solid Vision constructs solid mass of scenery, buildings and even monsters, but the Solid Vision machine is always controlled to alter the mass, for children, it's rendered more inflatable and bouncy to cushion their falls."
Haruto breathed out, holding in a breath he didn't know he had and Yuzu saw someone. "Oh Father, I want you to see someone." Haruto looked to see a man with dark blue eyes and brown/orange hair wearing a red/orange jumpsuit with a green trim and red fire design, underneath was a dark blue shirt with another fire design and a whistle.
"Wait father? Does this mean Yuzu takes more after her mother?" Haruto thought and Yuzu spoke, bringing him out of his thoughts. "Haruto, this is my father, Shuzo, he's the owner of this school." Yuzu said and the man named Shuzo took a look at him.
"Yuzu, you're finally brought a boy over! I'm so proud of you!" Shuzo said almost excitedly and from out of nowhere, Haruto didn't know how but Yuzu pulled out a paper fan then literally whacked her father over the head, making an audible noise, almost like a comedic duo as Yuzu's face was slightly red. "Father! He's just a friend! I brought him here because he was interested in a Duel School!" Yuzu said in flustered anger.
Shuzo rubbed where he was hit. "So you want to join, is that it Haruto?" Shuzo asked and Haruto scratched his cheek. "Well, I only intended to have a look because I never actually seen a Duel School before." Haruto said embarrassingly.
Shuzo gave a heartfelt laugh. "Then you know how to do an Action Duel?" Shuzo asked and Haruto looked at him. "Sort of? All I know is it involves Solid Vision and there's something called Action Cards, other than that, I'm completely clueless." Haruto admitted embarrassingly.
"Well, how about we show you by giving a demonstration?" Shuzo offered and Haruto's eyes widened. "You mean that? Well I wouldn't want to intrude on your schedule." Haruto protested and Shuzo patted his shoulder. "No trouble at all, if it means another applicant for You Show, then it'll be worth it!"
Shuzo led Haruto and Yuzu through the building to the green cage Haruto recalled seeing outside, there was another boy in the area with crimson eyes, and dual-colored green and crimson hair of average length sticking out in downwards pointing spikes all around his head with the exception of one short-upwards pointing spike of green hair, he also wore a charm pendant on a simple brown string around his neck and a buckled choker, and a pair of golden goggles with orange lenses on his forehead, with a blue star obscuring the right lens.
For his attire, it was a simple red t-shirt with a thick, silver-buckled brown belt over it, green pants with what appear to be "Deck pockets" on each leg, and magenta shoes, as well as crimson wristbands with gold and red lined white school jacket over his shoulders like a cape.
"Oh Yuzu, who's this?" the boy asked and Yuzu answered for him. "Yuya, This is Makoto Haruto, he helped me out and so I thought he'd like to join our school since he's never seen a Duel School before." Yuzu said and Yuya looked at Haruto, extending a hand out.
"Pleased to meet you, I'm Sakaki Yuya." Yuya said with a smile and Haruto nodded. "I'm Makoto Haruto, Same here." Haruto said, shaking hands and Shuzo patted their shoulders. "Yuya, Haruto here wants to experience an Action Duel as it's his first time so I was thinking-"
"Actually father, I would like to bring the experience to Haruto." Yuzu interjected and the three males looked at her. "Well, I was the one who brought him here so I figure why don't I introduce him into Action Duels, besides, knowing Yuya, he'll just be eager to show off."
"What does that mean!?" Yuya asked in irritation and Yuzu placed hands on her hips. "Exactly what I said, you'll get whisked away in the moment to try out that new Summoning of yours, I want Haruto to at least step into our world than dropping him off into the deep end." Yuzu said with a confident tone.
"Er... I don't want you two to fight over who gets to introduce me into this but I think I want to take things slow, I mean... I never actually done an Action Duel before and while you guys may be experienced, I would like to at least try it."
Shuzo looked on with a thoughtful expression with his eyes closed and came to a decision. "Yuya, let Yuzu take this one, after all, Haruto probably could use a teacher more than an entertainer right now, you can Duel him when he gets a hang of it." Shuzo said with finality.
Yuya nodded and Shuzo moved with him back towards the build and the two were seen in a glass window that housed machinery as Yuzu and Haruto's Duel Disks activated and above their heads in the middle of the field was a huge Spell Card that spun rapidly before coming to a stop, it was a vast large plain.
"Looks like we're going to a rather easy Action Field, Plain Plains!" Yuzu said as the surrounding area flashed with brilliant light and Haruto had to instinctively cover his eyes lest he become blinded and when he opened them again, there was no longer a caged metal space but rather a literal huge plain with blue skies, running trenches of water with fish and a cool breeze.
"Whoa... is this.. a Field Spell?" Haruto said in awe and Yuzu winked and pointed a finger up in a teaching manner. "Not quite, It can be mistaken for one but this is an Action Field, there are no power boosts or effects applied to the Monsters, this is all Solid Vision , everything here feels just as real as reality." Yuzu explained as Haruto walked over to feel the cold stream and sure enough, he felt it was actually cold and a liquid.
"Incredible... so it's not all just holograms... " Haruto said in surprise as Yuzu smiled. "Now, let's get started! In the world of Action Duelling, before every Action Duel, the performers or rather the Duelists usually perform a chant to rile up the crowd but since this is your first battle in an Action Duel, we'll forego the chant we'll just say Action Duel." Yuzu said and Haruto nodded standing up straight and getting ready as the two spoke in unison.
"ACTION DUEL!"

"I'll go first if you don't mind." Yuzu suggested and Haruto nodded as Yuzu looked to her hand and picked a card out from it. "First I'll Normal Summon Canon the Melodious Diva in ATK mode!" Yuzu said as from a flash of light emerged a blue haired and skinned female wearing a golden masquerade mask over her eyes with a busty chest, her attire consisted of showgirls uniform with puffy shoulders and a plaided skirt that was purple and black as notably, it had a musical note upon it as she let out a musical song before landing beside her summoner.
Canon the Melodious Diva (LV 4/1400/2000)
"A musical monster?" Haruto asked and Yuzu closed one of her eyes with a hand up in a teacher-like manner. "That's right, the Melodious series is a group of regal musicians who play to entertain and soothe the captive audience, after all, music can be a powerful sensation in the world of entertainment, however since I can't attack on the very first turn, I'll end my turn with just this." Yuzu stated with a bowing gesture.
"Then my turn! Draw!" Haruto said, drawing a card, his hand at six and then immediately selecting one. "I summon the Black Dragon's Chick in ATK mode!" Haruto called out as the ever familiar Black Chick Haruto used against Gen appeared in it's small red egg-shell, adorably puffing out a red flame.

Yuzu's eyes softened at the baby dragon. "It's so adorable when you're facing it up close!" Yuzu said in delight and Haruto nodded. "He can be cute when he needs to be but I do know however, my little chick pales in comparison to your Canon so by tributing my Chick, he gets to grow up into his Adult state! So I call forth Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Haruto called out as the baby chick was engulfed in a white light before enlarging until it reached an appropriate size and the light dimmed, revealing the iconic legendary dragon in all its glory as it let off a roar.

Yuzu's smile changed from one that found the baby dragon cute and sweet to immediate intimidation as she gazed upon the monster. "Wow... just seeing this thing up close is making me feel intimated already and that's not when I face Yuya's Odd-Eyes Dragon!" Yuzu thought to herself, instinctively taking one step back.
"A Red-Eyes user...?" Shuzo said, arms crossed as he looked at the monster and Yuya looked to him. "Sensei?" Yuya asked in obvious confusion and Shuzo looked to him with his eyes darting to the corner.. "That my boy, is a legendary card and probably if not, one of the rarest ones in the game, way back when Duel Monsters first started out." Shuzo said and Yuya looked with widened eyes to the dragon.
"It's that rare? But how come I never heard of it before?" Yuya asked in confusion and Shuzo nodded. "You wouldn't have, this was way before your time and even my time, back in those days, Synchro and Xyz didn't even exist, it was only just Fusion and Ritual monsters, that card was mostly known to have a counterpart to the even rarer Blue-Eyes White Dragon, however, nobody really makes a note of the old cards except ones like Monster Reborn... That boy, Haruto certainly is a one-of-a-kind for even owning a card in such a mint condition, I dare say such a card would be in a museum or owned by one of those rich collectors." Shuzo noted.
"Time to enter the Battle Phase! Red-Eyes Black Dragon attacks Canon with Inferno Fire Blast! Let her have it Red-Eyes! Inferno Fire Blast!" Haruto called out as Red-Eyes roared and begun charging up a fireball in its maw but Yuzu begun to run, Canon, following her.
"Time to show you how an Action Duel works!" Yuzu called and picked up a card that was on the ground as she briefly looked to it as the Inferno Fire Blast came hurtling towards Canon. "Action Magic: Evasion! This card negates your attack!" Yuzu said as Canon expertly twirled, avoiding the attack as it dispersed.
"How could you play a card when it was still my turn?" Haruto asked in confusion and Yuzu placed her hand over her Graveyard and retrieved the Action Card that was ejected. "These cards are special, they are scattered around the Action Field with various effects, they are treated like Quick-Play Spells that you can play from your hand even on your opponents turn. also in Action Duels, Duelists can collect these cards to give themselves an advantage or hinder their opponent, however, you can only hold one Action Card in your hand." Yuzu explained, showing the back that was a normal brown background except it has an A upon it.
"So a Player can hold onto the card as long as they want or is it just for one turn?" Haruto asked and Yuzu shook her head. "The Player can hold onto the Action Card as long as they like, they could even use this as a cost for a Spell or Trap card that requires discarding a card, there is also nothing stopping a Player from using Action Cards consecutively, provided they are lucky." Yuzu explained, returning the card back to her Graveyard.
"Wouldn't that kind of make the opponent to just do it repeatedly without letting an attack or such go through?" Haruto asked and Yuzu shook her head. "No, there's a time limit on how long someone can search for an Action Card, I think it's something like ten to fifteen seconds without getting an Action Card, you can block your opponents with your monsters as well or if you want to get physical, go and stop the Player yourself from getting any so long as it's not life threatening or abuse." Yuzu said and Haruto nodded in understanding. "Now, let's get back to the Duel, this is all of what an Action Duel is supposed to be"
Haruto nodded and continued. "I end my turn then, lets see how this goes!" Haruto stated

"Then it's my turn! I draw!" Yuzu declared, drawing a card then looking to her hand of five and picked out a card. "I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card, Pianissimo, this card allows me to target 1 monster on the field, that monsters ATK becomes 100 until the end of this turn, but it cannot be destroyed by battle this turn, and who better to experience music than your Dragon, Canon!" Yuzu said as Canon let out a musical melody and Red-Eyes staggered in his stance, looking weary as his ATK dropped to 100.
"Red-Eyes!"Haruto called out in concern as Yuzu ran again to locate another card. "Battle! Canon attacks Red-Eyes Black Dragon! Singing Strike!" Yuzu called out as Canon prepared herself and actually started singing, musical notes forming from her mouth, coming towards Red-Eyes and Haruto looked around, spotting some brown in the grass, he ran for it as Yuzu smiled, grabbing a card. "Action Magic: Assault! This card increases Canon's ATK by 600 so she now has 2000 ATK!" Yuzu called out as the musical note expanded in size as it made contact with Red-Eyes.
Haruto hastily picked up the brown card, looking over the effect and played it. "I activate Action Magic: Selection of Miracle! During damage calculation I can activate it's second effect since the first one is already covered by your Pianissimo card! I can halve the damage I would of taken!" Haruto said hurriedly as a red aura was over him as his LP decreased.

"Man, that was nerve-wracking..." Haruto said and Yuzu gave a small laugh. "Sorry, but it got you to try out an Action Card didn't it?" and Haruto nodded with a sigh of relief as Yuzu continued. "It'll be fine, you won't notice the timer once you get used to it, you also don't have to actively get Action Cards either, Gongenzaka, a friend of mine doesn't get any of them yet he still draws a crowd in, I set one card face down and end my turn, at this time, Red-Eyes Black Dragon's ATK returns to normal." Yuzu stated, an enlarged card appeared in front of her face down before blending in with the environment and Red-Eyes straightened itself up.
"My turn! Draw!" Haruto said, drawing and glancing to the new card, before putting it into his hand then looked at the field. "Okay, so Canon has 1400 ATK and there's a face-down so it could be a Trap, but I got to at least make a dent in Yuzu's LP..." Haruto concluded in his head.
"I activate the Spell Card, Stamping Destruction! With this card,, if I control a Dragon-Type Monster, I can select one Spell or Trap card on the Field then inflict 500 damage!" Haruto called out as Yuzu looked up, a dragon's leg materializing and she gasped at the sheer size of it.
"Eeek!" Yuzu cried out, jumping back as the leg stamped upon her face-down card and the force sending her flying onto her behind. "Ow..." Yuzu moaned as Haruto continued. "With this, Canon's wide open!" Red-Eyes! Inferno Fire Blast!"
Red-Eyes Black Dragon shot another blast and Yuzu raised a free hand towards Canon. "Canon's effect activates! Once per turn, I can change her battle position so I switch her into DEF mode and with it, my LP are safe!" Yuzu stated as the blast connected with Canon who defended herself as this caused the monster to cry out before shattering.
"It had that kind of ability? Aw man, I thought I had you off your feet with my Spell." Haruto said in disappointment as Yuzu got up, brushing off any dirt her skirt may of suffered. "Well thanks to your surprise, I couldn't go for an Action Card so it looks like I'll have to make you pay for interrupting a lady's performance." Yuzu teased and Haruto picked out a card. "I set a card face-down and end my turn." Haruto said, a Spell/Trap card forming in front of him.

"My turn, I draw." Yuzu said and drawn her card. "When there are monsters on my opponent's side of the field, I can Special Summon Solo the Melodious Songstress form my hand!" Yuzu stated as a summoning circle appeared and from it, a woman with yellow hair that was styled like wings while her dress was like a ballerina's, her hands and lower legs covered in bandages while wearing the heaviest red shoes.

"Next I summon Opera the Melodious Diva from my hand! On the turn this card is Summoned, it cannot attack!" Yuzu continued as beside her, another summoning circle appeared and from this one emerged a small girl with pink hair and wearing a blue dress with angel wings on her back.

Yuzu raised her arms up as Opera and Solo rose in unison before becoming orange and green energy respectively then out from whirlpool of energy emerged a platinum haired three tailed petite woman adorned in a light blue gown as a oversized pink ribbon was tied upon her back and she stood upon a platform of pink petals.
"With the guidance of the baton, gather your power! Fusion Summon! Now come here to the stage! Sing the song of victory! Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir!"
Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir (LV 6/1000/2000)
"A Fusion Summon? But Bloom Diva only has 1000 ATK... What could Yuzu be thinking?" Haruto wondered as Yuzu ran across the field with her new monster. "Battle! Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir attacks Red-Eyes Black Dragon! Vaporising Miracle!" Yuzu called out as Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir opened her mouth and let out a blast of white energy and Red-Eyes puffed flames in response before letting off a Inferno Fire Blast.
"Yuzu, Sorry but Bloom Diva will be destroyed by Red-Eyes!" Haruto called out and Yuzu grabbed an Action Magic card, playing it. "Action Magic: Powerize! This card lets me increase the ATK of one monster on the field by 1000, I choose Red-Eyes Black Dragon!"
Haruto was surprised as the Inferno Fire Blast grown larger as it easily smothered the white energy shot fired from Bloom Diva with Red-Eyes's ATK rising to 3400. "You can use an Action Magic Card on my monster!? But you are just going to take more damage, 2400 to be exact!" Haruto said in surprise and Yuzu gave a knowing smile.
"Never underestimate a girl's potential Haruto! I activate Bloom Diva's effect! When she battles a Special Summoned Monster, she cannot be destroyed in battle and she can destroy the monster she is battling and here's the best part, any battle damage I would receive is instead redirected to you! Reflect Shout!" Yuzu called out as Bloom Diva let out a melodic tone which then reverberated in the air as the Inferno Fire Blast was converted into energy before being shot back at Haruto who was just left agape as he landed on his behind.

"Ouch... that's... brutal." Haruto said, getting up as Yuya paled somewhat at the move performed. "Note to self, never tease or anger Yuzu..." Yuya thought as Yuzu gave a wink. "I end my turn there Haruto, lets see you get past my Bloom Diva after all the training I gotten!"
"Then I draw!" Haruto drawn, his hand and glanced at it. "Sad part is... my Deck usually focuses on Special Summoning my Dragons, however, a Normal Summoned Monster can deal damage to Bloom Diva since it only uses its effect on Special Summons..." Haruto considered quietly in his head and placed a card on the Disk.
"Then it's time for a change of monster, I may use Dragons but there are other cool types, so, I call upon my Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight in ATK Mode!" Haruto called out as from a flash of light emerged a black armored warrior with grey edge plating as the joints of his elbows, shoulders, legs and ankles were varying sizes of red spheres with his right arm being practically a long curved blade while his right bore a shield that was seemingly attached as there was no hands, just grafted onto metal appendages like robot, most notably the warriors mouth revealed him to be very dark grey like skin while a helmet covered the rest of his head, his red eyes gleaming as he let out a battle cry,
Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight (LV 4/1800/1600)
"Now I equip my new Knight with Megamorph! Since my LP are lower than yours, my monster gains double of his original ATK points, that's a grand total of 3600!" Haruto called out as Gearfried glowed red and Haruto pointed at Bloom Diva. "Gearfried, slice and dice that Diva! Iron Red Slash!"
Gearfried leapt forward, sword-arm raised as Yuzu was in the process of locating another Action Card and Haruto moved as well then Yuzu leapt forward, rolling along the grass. "Sorry, but I got Action Magic: Evasion! This card negates an attack!" Yuzu called out and Evasion broke apart instantly.
"What? But how?" Yuzu asked in confusion and looked over to see Haruto had an Action Card active. "That's... Action Crush! It stops all Players using Action Cards this turn!" Yuzu said in surprise as Bloom Diva was sliced through and Yuzu braced herself, the explosion occurring for a few seconds before Gearfried retreated back to his owner's side.

"There goes that reflect damage effect! Now, I'll end my turn with one card face-down, your move Yuzu!" Haruto called out as a face-down card formed and Yuzu nodded. "I draw and I activate the Spell Card, Mystical Space Typhoon, so I destroy Megamorph!" Yuzu called out as a cyclone slammed into Megamorph destroying it and Gearfried's ATK returning to 1800.
"Next I play 1st Movement, Solo! I can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Melodious form my hand so I choose Score the Melodious Diva!" Yuzu called out as a the left side of the new girls hair was purple and the right side pink as she had purple skin and a musical note-like angel wing on her right as she wore a most elegant Victorian dress.
Score the Melodious Diva (LV 4/400/1900)
"I activate Score's effect! When she is Special Summoned, I can treat as a double tribute for a Melodious Monster and become able to Normal Summon twice, first I offer my Score!" Yuzu said as Score was bathed in light before vanishing.
"Enchanting melody echoing in the heaven. Awaken the sleeping virtuoso. Come forth! Level 8! Mozarta the Melodious Maestra!"
Haruto looked at a much larger woman woman, this time looking almost like mannequin with the most regal red dress with a pair of harp-like wings with most notably, a crown upon her head

"I activate Mozart's effect, once per turn, she can Special Summon a Melodious Monster from my hand, so I'll use my Special Summon for Solo then my for my second Normal Summon, Canon!" Yuzu called out as the two familiar monsters appeared on either side of Mozart

"Time for the finale! Mozart attacks Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight! Graceful Wave!" Yuzu commanded and Haruto pressed a button. "Sorry Yuzu, but you just triggered my Trap Card! Widespread Ruin! This card destroys your monster with the highest ATK and right now, your Mozart is the highest so say goodbye!" Haruto called out as Mozart was hit with an explosion as Yuzu covered herself and begun to run once more, Haruto following suit.
"Then Canon attacks Gearfried! And...!" Yuzu rolled, grabbing an Action Card. "Action Magic: Attack Force, if my monster is battling a monster with higher ATK, this card lets me increase Canon's ATK by 600 during the Battle Phase!" and Haruto smiled, also playing a card. "I don't think so Yuzu! I activate Action Magic: Encore, this card lets me target an Action Magic Card in my Graveyard and use its effects and I select Action Crush with this you cannot play any more Action Cards this turn!"
Yuzu gasped and looked at the field. "That means... Canon's ATK is back to normal and I can't call off the attack!" Yuzu said as Gearfried sliced through Canon with ease as Canon shattered into pieces with Yuzu taking 400 LP.
"I can't attack with Solo and I got no Action Cards, my Hand isn't exactly filled with Traps..." Yuzu thought and spoken. "I end my turn there." Yuzu stated.

"Then it's my turn, I draw!" Haruto called out, drawing and took a brief glance at the card. "Time for you to meet another legendary monster Yuzu! I offer up my Gearfried and call upon my Summoned Skull!" Haruto called out as Gearfried disappeared in particles of light before reforming in a bipedal white skeleton with it's insides being dark purple sinew and it's black wings flapping being it's back, it's dark blue eyes glinting.
Summoned Skull (LV 6/2500/1200)
"Now, I'll attack Solo with Summoned Skull! Lightning Strike!" Haruto commanded as Summoned Skull let out a demonic groaning like sound before lighting shot out from it's body, hitting Canon as Yuzu was too stunned to move from seeing the demonic monster, getting blown off her feet as the Action Field begun to dissipated back into the familiar play area with Haruto running over to her.

"Yuzu, are you alright?" Haruto apologized and Yuzu got up, brushing off any dirt her skirt may of gotten. "I'm okay Haruto, but did you enjoy your first taste of an Action Duel?" Yuzu asked and Haruto looked thoughtful.
"Oh, it was quite fun moving about like that but don't get me wrong, I think Action Duels are great but I honestly don't think they are for me, running around to collect cards to change the outcome when I spent most of my time doing things the normal way." Haruto honestly replied as Yuya and Shuzo came back.
"Well, I have said you don't need to actively get Action Cards but most people usually do to get an advantage so you may have to change the way you play, especially in the Maiami Championship." Yuzu suggested and Haruto looked thoughtful. "Maybe so.. it is tiring having to pick up cards around the field.. oh how I'm already missing a non-Action Duel format already..."
"Well, at least you got your foot in the rules of it, the only other thing you have to learn is Pendulum Summoning." Shuzo added and Haruto looked utterly confused. "What's Pendulum Summoning?" Haruto asked sheepishly and everyone fallen over comically.
"It's a new form of Summoning Yuya discovered in his Duel with Strong Ishima, did you not see the Duel?" Shuzo asked and Haruto rubbed a hand behind his head. "Uh... I may of missed out that one because my family was moving house at the time?" Haruto said awkwardly as the trio explained what the Pendulum Summoning was, Yuya showing the cards as a example
"Still, I never seen Red-Eyes before, is it really that rare?" Yuzu asked Haruto as Shuzo left during the conversation for the other You Show Students to teach them as she, Yuya and Haruto sat in the lobby.
"Well, somewhat, it's like the counterpart to the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon except Red-Eyes had more copies made while the Blue-Eyes only had like from what I recall like in the old history back in the days when the King of Games was a thing, three copies were made." Haruto said in in a thoughtful response and continued.
"However, I felt like Red-Eyes was looked down upon because of it's legendary counterpart, so I wanted to construct a deck around it and its just as well I did because people are forgetting about the old cards, plus, I do kind of like seeing the surprised looks on other's faces when they see something so old that it can still kick their butts." Haruto said with a small chuckle with an embarrassed face.
"So you're taking part in the Championship?" Yuya asked and Haruto nodded. "Yeah, it was a personal invitation for me from the company hosting it, I got it from my father so maybe LDS might be considering me as a candidate for their school perhaps?" Haruto said and Yuzu puffed her cheeks. "No can do, we're getting you into You Show!" Yuzu said quickly and Haruto looked to see her adorably puffed face and gave a small laugh and a smile.
"Well, let's make a promise, after the tournament, If Yuya or Yuzu beat me in the Championship, I'll join You Show and if I win, I'll decide where I want to go." Haruto said and Yuzu and Yuya looked with returning smiles. "Alright, let's have a proper Duel in the Tournament!" Yuya said and Yuzu nodded, in agreement.
And that's Chapter 2 with the biggest change thus far! How was that for a surprise, bet you all thought it was going to be same as the original with Haruto vs Yuya but nope, completely changed that expectation didn't I? You may have also noticed some monster name changes such as Red-Eyes B. Chick being changed to Black Dragon's Chick and Red-Eyes B. Dragon becoming Red-Eyes Black Dragon, this is mainly tied in with the recent change to the Red-Eyes name changing with the latest set.
When I wrote this Chapter when I was on my off-time during a wi-fi issue lasting most of the day, I genuinely had fun rewriting this one, maybe because it gives Yuzu more screen time, both as a character and in duelling terms or maybe because I could let my imagination run more freely when it's a created Duel and not sticking to canon duels, I hope you all enjoyed this Sunday surprise and I'll see you all next time!
