Dear Edmund and Lucy,

I've settled in nicely now at Professor Kirke's new place and started exam studies. The exam is going to be an absolute beast, but studying with the Professor is simply brilliant.

I think having someone else here is good for him. And once we started studying, he began to look his old self again. I sit at a desk, and the Professor sits in an armchair with his pipe, until some point excites his interest. Then he stands up and paces in front of the fireplace, punctuating his point with his pipe.

It's no joke losing everything, especially at his time of life. Leaving the old house was hard enough, but he doesn't seem to have many visitors or much in the post. There was a letter from Miss Plummer last night though, and that cheered him greatly.

The house isn't large, but comfortable enough, and there is a separate room for studying so we don't have to look at those books during meals or in the evening. (So far I have evenings off, but I doubt that will last.)

I know being with Uncle Harold, Aunt Alberta, and cousin Eustace is no picnic, but try to think of it as visiting Calormen. Remember you are still a King and a Queen of Narnia, though we are back in our own world.

As much as I'm enjoying the Professor's company, I miss you both. And Su and our parents. Please write often. I promise, on my honor as the High King and your brother, to respond as quickly as I'm able. But don't expect as much as before, as the exam gets closer. I will be most glad when it's all over and our family is back together again.

All my love,
Peter
