Peter to Edmund, or

Dear Edmund,
I know Cousin Eustace is impossible to get along with, especially when he is cruel to Lucy. But watch your temper. Remember, you are the Just King, and that justice is tempered with mercy. You know that better than anyone. "Even a traitor may mend" – and Eustace, while a complete ass, is no traitor.
It's not your job to make him a better person, of course – you aren't his parents or guardian. But you can show him a better example than he's been given so far. Of course you must do everything you can to protect Lucy. But since you are in Eustace's house and our aunt and uncle will invariably back him up, avoiding fights as much as possible seems the only sensible course of action.
You may have figured this out for yourself, but Aslan has power in this world too – he told me and Su that we would find him here but by another name. He called us into Narnia and saved you, and I know he can do the same with Eustace. I know he doesn't do things the same way twice, and his timing is certainly not ours. But know that he is still watching over you and Lucy – over all of us – even here.
Have to get back to studying now. Give my love to Lucy. The Professor sends his regards to you both.
Your brother,
Peter
