Patience is a virtue. Haste causes waste. Both of these sayings are true. The biggest example was Ryan Reeves, the young adult who had fallen in love with his maid and whom he had developed lustful feelings for.

He had waited and waited and waited and finally he had his chance. He did it. He finally did it. Whenever Ryan was with Angela, out of the blue, unconsciously his mind lingered lusty imaginations. But now his desires were fulfilled. His need was Angela and all his desires were satisfied. But was Ryan happy?

It was around afternoon when Angela's eyes opened. Feeling a slight breeze from her feet up to her head she realised that she was laying naked on her bed. Instantly, she recalled what happened. For the first time in her life, she had sex. The sensation, the pleasures and moans were all coming back to her, as well as the feeling of Ryan's body and his length. It was just erotic for her.

Moving her head to the left to see Ryan sitting up at the corner of their bed, staring deeply into the abyss. It felt different now. Looking at Ryan, it felt different because of their recent activity. She felt true satisfaction by the mere sight of Ryan. Slowly and gradually, Angela sat up and hugged Ryan's back.

Ryan didn't flinch, he felt the touch of Angela and did look to the left to face her but was quite and didn't flinch.

Cup

Angela kissed Ryan's cheek as her arms tightened around his neck.

"Afternoon, Handsome."

Ryan grabbed her arms and replied flatly

"Good afternoon, Baby."

Ryan turned his head to give a complimentary kiss on her cheeks.

Angela played with his chest as she started to speak.

"So...that was sex, huh?"

Ryan slightly scoffed.

"Yeah."

"Its no wonder you wanted to have it so bad."

Ryan nodded his head in acknowledgement.

"Everyone has their needs. They should be fulfilled, right? Every loved one should experience it."

Ryan looked down as he finished his sentence

'Every loved one? What is he talking about?'

"Ryan? You okay?" Angela asked curiously.

Her mind thought about Ryan's last remark now. It was a bit strange to hear that from him. What was he talking about?

Angela shifted her thoughts aside and started a different topic.

"It felt good, Ryan. We can...do it often, if you'd like." Angela moaned beside Ryan's ear.

Ryan didn't flinch again. He just gave a small grin and hugged Angela saying Thanks.

What?

Wasn't that supposed to make him exicted? Whenever someone has sex, they feel more or less excited about the future. And for Ryan, who was begging to have Angela, give such a short response to her offer was not making sense.

Was he not satisfied?

'Ryan...Is he okay?'

"Ryan? Are you okay? Why are you so quiet?"

Angela was suddenly worried. She was clearly able to feel that his behaviour was more than strange. It was weird.

"Oh, sorry. Just...I have a headache."

It was clear. He was hiding something because Ryan is a bad lier. What was it? What was bothering him so much.

This moment reminded Angela of one of the many days where Ryan would just space out and give a useless excuse. He would get distracted, saddened for a few moments before changing the subject. At first, she didn't pay much attention to it, making it a minor issue but it was serious now. What was with it Ryan?

"Ryan--"

Rinnggg

"Sorry, I gotta take this."

Like that, Ryan briskly stood up and attended to the call. He looked pretty pale, held a fake smile. Was he acting? That call must've been his saving grace.

'Ryan...What's going on with you? Are you...unsatisfied with me?'

Angela felt her heart get heavy. Her breathing became slow with her eyes wide in shock and getting teary.

What was going on with Ryan?

Didn't he want Angela? What had gotten up his ass now?

Why would Ryan become depressed all of a sudden, then? What was it that was eating him that he was hiding?

"Angela..."

Huh?

Angela looked up, covering her body with sheets before looking up.

"Dad called. He wants me to go to his office. Some people are there and want me to brief them. I'll be back around 9."

Huh?

He's going? At a time like this? Wasn't today supposed to be a holiday? He's just leaving?

"Ryan...What is...I don't understand. Why are you so quiet? Is this meeting or is it--"

"Don't worry everything is fine. I have to leave. They're waiting."

Ryan immediately rushed toward the bathroom to get ready, leaving Angela confused.

"Ryan..."

Angela was left flabbergasted. Her mind was blank. No thoughts, no excuses, no reason was coming into her mind to justify why Ryan was acting this way.

Ryan left without even giving Angela a kiss. He just picked his coat, left and didn't bother to look back. Angela kept on staring into the abyss with that behaviour. Her expression held horror now. Terror was surging throughout her body with confusion dripping from her face. With nothing coming in mind, Angela just sat back trying to analyse what just happened.

"Ryan, didn't you want to sleep with me? Now, you have. Shouldn't that make you happy? Wasn't I enough to satisfy you?"

Angela, thought of the lustful activity they did couple of hours ago. Her mind was thinking if she had done something wrong but what? All the time she was pinned down on her bed and just moaned until she reached her limit. It wasn't something that she did. It was something else.

"He said, I've been wanting to do this for so long...He wanted it but why is he...like this?"

All of this was stressful for Angela. Thinking about the vague situation and then blaming herself for it wasn't making any sense. She was clueless. Directionless. She needed help because she had no idea what to do or what to say about this but maybe someone else does. Someone from his life. His friends maybe.

That was it!

Angela knew what to do now. Instead of idly sitting by, she thought of taking help from Ryan's friend. Mike. He could help.

Angela looked to the sidetable to see Ryan's phone. He left it there.

'He left his phone here?! Perfect. I can call mike.'

Ughh

Angela felt slight pain across her vagina as she moved. It was probably because of Ryan's penis that went wild on her.

"He needs to learn to slow down."

Angela's fingers fidget at Ryan's phone, finding Mike's contact.

Bingo.

She found it and immediately called without caring that she was calling from Ryan's phone, to Ryan's friend, who was practically a stranger. Determination.

"Yo, Ry. Wassup, man?" Mike picked up in a few seconds.

Angela breathed before she spoke. Her heart was still heavy because of worrying about Ryan but still she mustered to speak.

"Hello, Michael? This is Angela."

Mike was left stunned for a second. He felt weirded out to get a call from his best friends love.

"Oh, Angela...Hey, umm...you called. How are you?"

Angela didn't care of how weirded out Mike was because this wasn't that big of a thing for her.

"I'm fine, thank you. Listen, Michael. Are you free? I mean, where are you?"

"Uhhh, home. Why are you asking?"

Angela sighed.

"It's Ryan. He is--"

"Ryan? What? Is he in trouble? Where is he?"

Angela suddenly started to speak to reassure Mike.

"No, Michael! He is fine. It's just...he is acting strange alot lately..."

"Strange? How strange?"

"Can you come by his house? I promise I will tell you everything. He is at his office and I'm alone here so I thought I could tell you what's going on."

"I don't know what you're talking about. You're not speaking clear. What's happening?"

"Michael. Don't you find it weird that Ryan has gone to work and has left his phone and hasn't brothered to pick it up? He never retrieved his phone even when he was out?"

Michael opened his mouth but couldn't form words as he realised that Angela had a point.

"Listen, you're his best friend. I can't talk to anyone beside you because you know him more than I do. And this is something I'm sure you can understand, can't you?"

Angela almost begged. Her voice cracked in the end as she couldn't control her confusion. Apprently, even she wasn't sure of what was happening with Ryan.

Mike could feel Angela. He could genuinely feel how desperate Angela was asking for help for which he sensed responsibility within himself.

"I'm on my way, Angela. Please don't worry. Everything will be alright."

Angela sniffed and replied

"Thank you, Michael. I'll he waiting."

Angela hung up.

As soon as she did, she got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. She took a warm shower and wore indoor, presentable clothes as she couldn't wear short pants infront of Ryan's friend.

'Just what is going on, Ryan?'

Angela thought to herself at every moment.

The door knocked. Angela was standing near the door at this instant. Taking a deep breath, Angela opened the door to greet Michael but was greeted by a redhead instead. Jesssica.

"Greetings, Angela." Jessica shaked Angela's hand and stepped in.

"Hello, beautiful." Came a soft voice after Jessica. It was a blonde adult. Ashley.

"Hey, Angela." Finally came a deep voice of Ryan's only male friend.

That was unexpected. Angela had called Michael only but didn't mention or invite the other two companions. Neither did Mike give the heads up. Very awkward for the raven haired adult.

They had come so it would be extremely rude to tell them to get lost, therefore, Angela with a smile took them to the guest room where she had prepared drinks and snacks for the guests.

All of them sat. Jessica and Michael sat close to each other whilst Ashley, like a lone wolf sat across Angela. That girl didn't exactly look gloomy but quiet like she didn't have the ability to converse. It was weird, scary even.

Angela tried her best to maintain eye contact with everyone but with all the new faces it seemed she had not the faintest idea on how to start the conversation.

"Are you all by yourself? Where are Mr and Mrs Reeves? Mr Doss?"

Jessica said sipping on her drink.

"Oh! They left this morning. Dad went back to Knoxville county while Ryan's parents went to fetch their daughter."

"Fetch! Ahhaha. I like the way you speak." Jesscia genuinely laughed.

Huh?

Michael and the gloomy blonde also chuckled at her remark making the nervousness vanish.

What was that? Were they friendly too? Were they seriously Ryan's freind? So straightforward.

"So, Angela. You called me...Is everything alright? I didn't quite get you on the phone. And I hope you don't mind me bringing these two along."

Michael said, sitting back on the sofa.

"Oh, not at all. Jessica and Ashley are his friends too, right?" Angela smiled.

Jessica looked at Michael then at Angela before she smiled wholeheartedly. She seemed satisfied. Was it because Angela knew her name?

"His? Are you talking about Ryan? What's all this about?" Ashley asked curiously, not aware of why Michael brought them up in the first place.

"Ryan? Wait, Is he in trouble?!" Jessica asked after Ashley.

Angela shook her head aggressively as a gesture to stop speculating things.

"No! It's...very complicated. I don't know, maybe it's just me who thinks like that..."

Jessica could see that Angela was confused. Meaning, this wasn't just a petty issue between two lovers.

"If something really is up then you need to do better than I don't know." Jessica reassured.

Angela thought for a moment on what to say first and then let her fate decide her outcome.

"Ryan...has been acting weird since I met him. Like, on my second day, I had seen him grab his head like he had lost something, like something popped into his mind. He was spaced out at that moment and when he saw me, he just gave a fake smile and passed by me. I didn't give much thought to it but now that I realise it. He has been doing this almost every single day."

Jessica placed her drink back at the table after hearing those words. Ashley seemed more focused now. This wasn't a normal issue, both the girls could sense it.

"He would get lost in his thoughts, his expression would be filled with horror and loss. And whenever someone notices it, he proceeds by giving a fake smile and spouting lies. And..." Angela sighed deeply. She couldn't finish her sentence as she thought that she wasn't making any sense.

Much to her surprise, all three were focused on what she had to say. All had the same expression of worry in their faces as well. They were understanding what she wanted to say. This gave her encouragement.

"And? What happened?" Michael asked curiously.

Angela tried to speak immediately but was left shy because she remembered what happened a few hours ago. Crap. How can she tell about Ryan's reaction after their love making to her friends? She did not thought of this one.

Her fingers fidgeted but that didn't seem to help. All three were still beaming at her to tell her about the issue. She had to say it.

"T-t-this morning...Ry-Ryan acted that way...right after...doing it with me..." Angela blushed and looked down. Blood had flown to her cheeks furiously. She could even smell the iron.

Her eyes looked up to see all three sitting in awe, smiling and looking to and fro at each other. Michael scoffed

"Ryan, you sly dog...wait, what does that have to do with Ryan's attitude?"

"Ryan...he has been wanting to do it with me for a very long time. I had seen him but never felt him. It is safe to assume that he was craving for it. And this morning, it happened. But...he was not happy...not satisfied."

Everyone remained frozen in their position. Mouths were gaping in shock.

"He was not happy. Like, he got what he wanted. Was that really what he wanted? Wasn't I enough to satisfy him? Didn't he love me? And also at that moment, he stared into nothingness. He was not showing any sign of satisfaction, happiness or excitement. He was acting strange, talking strange and avoided facing me. Giving a fake smile and...coming up with a stupid excuse. He is definitely, facing something which he is hiding from us. Something is eating him and I'm afraid it has been stuck with him like gum for a long time now. Ryan is depressed but does that mean he was faking everything? Laughing forcefully? Smiling all day long? Was that to hide his issue? Why is he hiding it? I thought you guys would know. I don't understand it, that's why I asked for your help ." Angela held on tightly to prevent herself from sobbing.

Jessica and Mike understood what was going on. Both had similar reactions. Holding their face in disappointment and remorse. Ashley looked down as well.

Apparently, they had the exact same hypothesis of why Ryan was that way.

Michael after releasing a huge sigh, said

"Jesus, Ryan. When are you gonna let it go?"

What?

Angela looked at Michael who was as confused and disappointed as her.

"Let it go? What do you mean?"

Jessica faced Angela now.

"It seems he is still stuck at the past. He isn't thinking of forgetting."

"Guys, I don't know--wait...the past?"

Angela started to process that word. Process Ryan's past and in few seconds remembered what "past" they were talking about. Angela felt uneasy at that moment.

"Mary?!" Angela exclaimed.

Her words consisted of both shock and disbelief.

Angela looked at the three of them. All three gave a nod at the same time.

Angela felt like the world around her had turned upside down. That she had fallen into a hole of pain which couldn't be felt but could se sensed. Her heart skipped a few beats.

"B-b-but Ryan had forgotten about her? How can that be? Is Mary still in his heart?"

Ashley started to speak.

"Calm down, Angela. This is as hard for us as it is for you. Nobody said that he still is in love with Mary so don't judge so quicky, alright?"

Ashley said encouraging words, slightly consoling Angela and taking the floor.

"Tell us, did Mary have any contact with you guys at all?"

"No, no, we didn't. Like, after he confessed to me, we went to so many dates so many places so frequently. We didn't meet her or had any sort of contact."

Jessica started to speak now.

"Okay, and before he confessed?"

"Before he..." Angela stopped.

She remembered their very first date. The day where she first met these three people and that sweet Mexican child. At that park, near the bathroom, Ryan met Mary.

"Yeah...that day after we...met you all. Ryan...met Mary at the park..."

Angela slowly whispered.

Michael let out an Aghhh and stood up in stress, walking to and fro in that room. He was truly stressed and all the girls could witness it.

"You know what Ryan had gone through, right? He is still hurt."

"But...I don't get it."

"Of course, Ryan's acting that way! He still hasn't forgotten that bitch who gave him so much grief. Like it's been so long and he isn't man-ing up."

Angela looked at Mike who had burst out in anger. She even felt startled by it. For Mike to feel that way for Ryan...

"Mike, I know it's been long but she was his first love. Of course, it would be hard to forget about her."

"Jessie, are you serious? Let me remind you, that stupid bitch, slept with Jack! Our senior! Our friend!!! She had a thing with him for so long and we weren't even aware of it."

Jessica looked down.

"In school, Mary didn't even let Ryan hold her hand, in fear of spreading rumors. Very innocent of her, right? And what did she do? She ended up fucking Jack! The only reason she acted so innocent was to hide her true bitchy nature."

"Don't forget. The only reason she didn't let Ryan so close was because she was already with Jack. What interested her was Ryan's wealth." Ashley said sipping on her cola.

Angela looked at her. Her mind focused of their words now. They all knew Ryan so well that without any doubt, proved with so much evidence that it was Mary who was making Ryan that way. All three understood it except Angela. His lover. His life. Did she really knew Ryan at all? Angela felt disgusted by herself. How can she be so oblivious? How can she not understand Ryan?

"Poor, Ryan. I can't imagine what he is going through now. Imagine...witnessing someone you love cheat on you...on the most cruel way...with your friend..." Ashley diverted her head in sympathy.

"Ryan...He...He was quiet for hours, after seeing Jack on...Aghhh" Michael's voice cracked. He couldn't speak properly as Ryan's suffering gained his pity.

"He truly loved Mary, didn't he?Even after so long she is still in his heart." Angela said sadly.

Jessica looked at Angela. She could feel the sadness in Angela's words. Knowing that the person you love is still stuck on their previous love is just heartbreaking.

"No, baby." Jessica touched Angela's hand in reassurance. "I don't think Ryan still loves her. It's a bit complicated to tell."

"He wanted it to be Mary, right? He wanted to do it with Mary, eversince, he fell for her, right?" Angela said with tears in her eyes.

Both girl's remained quiet, staring at Angela.

"No! That's not it. He loves you, Angela and wanted you. He...he...told me about...his urge." Michael diverted his eyes as he felt embarrassed, admiting the final part.

"Wait, Ryan what??" Angela said in awe.

"Listen, that's not important. Ryan, is depressed. He is hurt. Sad. Upset. Why? Yes, he remembered that all he ever asked was to have his love understand his urge but got himself played like a kid. But, he is depressed because, he can't forget that scene. That moment. That day. What he saw, what he witnessed...the betrayal. It was too much. And...to not even get a call from that person?... I'm sure, during your...private time, he get a whole glimpse of that day." Michael explained his hypothesis. It was filled with sense.

Angela looked at Michael. Her mind wasn't believing what she heard. Ryan was depressed because of that cruel fact. He was still getting images from that day.

"In short, Ryan was still hurt. He was faking all of this in hopes to forget it one day. Running away from his past is what he is doing. He didn't find a shoulder where he could cry to in us." Ashley followed.

Angela wipped the tears from her eyes. But the fact that Ryan was going through alot and Angela couldn't understand it was making it harder.

'Oh, Ryan. Why didn't you even try to tell me?'

"We tried, Angela. For two weeks, we were with Ryan. Even staying with him in his own room until we could make him feel better but all that ever did was make a fake attitude of him. And now that we realise it, we are partly to blame."

Michael apologied to Angela. He felt truly disgusted by himself that he, his best friend, couldn't even help.

"No...Don't say that." Angela wipped her tears. "Dont blame yourself. You three did everything you could. I've never heard or seen anyone stay at their friends place just to get them to cheer up. I don't know much but I know that people like you are called true freinds. And do not worry. I will deal with Ryan now. I know what I must do." Angela reassured, grinning boldly.

Mike and the others felt like their hearts had a weight lifted off. They seemed to feel consoled after Angela's statement.

"Ryan is lucky to have you, Angela. He just doesn't know it yet." Michael expressed his thoughts.

With that, the four found their hopes high with the lover girl feeling a lot better since this morning. The subject shifted from one to another and all three talked with Angela as if she was their close friend. Angela, obviously, unleashed her humor making even the quietest one laugh hard. No one seemed to feel left out. Everything was in place. In order. With their lovely treatment Angela thought to herself

'They are so friendly. Everyone is so nice to me.'

Time passed and the talks slowed down. Angela sat with Ashley, conversing with her until she remembered something important to ask.

"Ashley, can I ask you something?"

Hmm

"Don't get it the wrong way but, do you still like Ryan?" Angela seemed to stammer as she couldn't find the courage to ask her that question.

Ashley looked at the confused Angela infront of her.

"Don't be afraid. I don't mind at all. No, I don't think I do anymore. He did reject me unconsciously, you know?"

"What? How--did he...?"

"I never confessed to him but he knew that I liked him since day one. He didn't say no to me but always admitted that I was a good freind to him. Plus, he was already in love with Mary and after that day, I knew Ryan would never believe in love again."

Damn!

'Oh, No!'

Crap, indeed. Ryan was now in love with Angela just when Ashley thought Ryan would never love again. The girl never confessed because her strongest discouragement was that Ryan considered her only a freind and that he was suffering. And now, he was in love...It all made Angela feel bad.

Haha

"Don't worry, I don't blame you. It's life. Fate. His own choice. I knew that I never had a chance with him, anyway."

"W-well y-yeah, but--"

"I just care for him. I have never seen such an amazing guy like him. What attracted me most was that, he would get into fights if some douche was having a problem with me. And he understood me pretty well. He was there whenever I needed support, needed help, needed someone to understand me. Thats why I care for him."

Ashley smiled genuinely at Angela. Her smile held acknowledgement that she supported Angela in her story.

"He is a great guy. I will take care of him always."

After a brief period of joy, it was time for the three to leave. The time spent with them was incredibly joyous. Jessica even took Angela's number and persuaded to hang out with them often which seemed like a great idea.

The young adult was in her room, laying on her bed, reading her book. Her mind was completely focused on the climax of this novel that she didn't hear the sound of Ryan's car parking. Occasionally, Angela would relate alot to this story as there were many references to her life. Like the fact, that everyone was nice to the main character, the main character was constantly approached by a ravishing figure.

Clank

The door opened, revealing a tired Ryan who was looking directly at Angela with awe. Angela also looked up and suddenly adopted the same expression. Her eyes were focused of Ryan while her mind was debating to directly approach him about his depression or wait for the right moment.

"Hey. You're here. Let me take that." Angela said as she stood up and approached Ryan to take his coat off.

Ryan kept on looking at her as she took the coat off of his body. Her fingers then concentrated on removing his tie. Ryan was out of words. Speechless. He didn't know what to say to her. The girl was doing all of this even after Ryan's behavior this morning, after that sacred activity. You would expect someone to ignore you after that but not her. She was so different.

"Angela..." Ryan whispered.

Angela looked up and smiled warmly at him.

"Long day, huh? You have been gone since this noon." Angela removed his tie and headed to their closet where she hung them up and took out a Black shirt and track pant for him.

After placing them on the table, Angela said

"Oh, you must be starving. I'll make you something right away."

And with that Angela headed toward the door to the kitchen but was stopped by Ryan who grabbed her arm.

"Angela!"

The girl stopped and suddenly faced Ryan now, who had horror on his face. Angela focused on his expression, closely. He held it. Regret.

"I'm sorry."

Angela's eyes popped as she suddenly heard that. Her body now completely faced Ryan.

"I'm sorry for this morning. I'm sorry for how I acted. I'm sorry that I didn't give the reaction that you wanted to see, that I wanted to give."

The words ringed through her ear like a bell.

"Ryan..."

"I loved it. I swear to God I loved it. All this time I've been thinking about you, seeing you, wanting you. And when I did, I enjoyed it. Loved it. But also ruined it. Our moment. I'm sorry, please forgive me. It won't happen again."

Ryan looked determined. His voice was clear. His eyes were holding genuineness. He was feeling...regret?

Whao!

Ryan is already facing his problems and yet he took the time to apologize and feel bad for his actions. For Angela, He did all that. Did he consider her consent more important than getting over his issue?

"Ryan..."

Cup

Angela tiptoed to give Ryan a brief kiss. Her mind wasn't believing what she was hearing but her body did. And in response, she showed her appreciation to his apology.

The kiss broke.

Angela grinned.

Swosh

Angela hugged Ryan and whispered to his ear.

"Thank you, dummy."

With a kiss on his cheek.

Ryan hugged back and smirked at her words.

"Angela?"

"Mm-Hmm?"

"Im starving."

Angela giggled.

"Let's go, then."

The couple proceeded in sustaining themselves.

Ryan talked and talked while Angela thought.

'I'm here, Ryan. You will know true happiness, just you wait."
