"So Kaori wanna go get some ice-cream.", I asked the girl who was currently glaring at me, tightly clutching her shinai.
"How? How do you do it?", She asks after a while.
"Do what?"
"How do you improve so quickly? You weren't that good until a few weeks ago. And you've gotten a lot stronger and faster." She asked me in a whiny tone.
Ah, so that's what it was about? I can't blame her since I did improve at a monstrous pace. After our talk, Sanzuwu began helping me practice my powers in the mindscape not to mention that I found out about the System's 'Record' function which helps me record my fights and rewatch them, to help me correct my flaws.
But, I can't tell her that now, can I? "I guess, it's because I finally hit puberty.", I tell her putting up my best smile. I mean, technically I'm not lying considering my physical growth since the past few weeks. While I was originally about 4'5 feet, now I'm about 4'9 nearly 5 feet.
She gave me a dead-panned look before eyeing me from head to toe, "I suppose you're right." She sighed discouraged.
"Well, do you want to go get that ice-cream or not?"
"Jeez, give me a second ok. I need to go change." She said before going to the changing room.
"Kay, I'll wait for you outside.", I tell as I exited the Dojo.
'Your opinions seem to have taken an interesting turn.' I heard Sanzu say as I was waiting.
"What do you mean?" I ask her to clarify.
'Well, in the past you wouldn't have wasted time on things like this. You were either training, studying, or planning for the future. But now, you go out of your way to invite that girl to go eat ice-cream'
"I thought I told you before. I want to enjoy my life. And while I need to train and everything. Right, now I still have time." I pause for a second before continuing, "Not to mention you aren't allowing me to enter the dungeons till I master your powers to an 'acceptable' level," I tell with all the sarcasm I could muster.
'You know it's for your good, right? Besides, I'm sure you'll be able to master my powers in a month or two. And, you told me that it'll be summer vacation in a few months as well. So you can go dungeon hunting all day long.'
"I guess. But it doesn't mean I have to like it. It gets boring with nothing interesting to do."
'Well, you could always go do some 'research' with your brother.', She says with a teasing tone.
"Nah, I'm not that desperate. I don't want to wash my reputation down the drain just for some excitement."
"Karasu-Kun, I'm ready. Let's go!" Kaori suddenly jumps out the door shouting. She was wearing a blue skirt and a simple white T-shirt with black stripes running through it. Overall, pretty cute. At least for an 11-year-old.
What about me? Well, I was just wearing a black hoodie and white shorts. How I fought wearing a hoodie? It isn't that hard, besides it's comfortable. I ditched the traditional fighting gear long ago.
As we kept walking, I noticed Kaori stealing small glances at me when she thought I wasn't looking. Hm, what's up with that? When I was thinking about asking her, She suddenly said,
"You've changed Karasu-Kun.", She says looking at me.
I lock eyes with her, "Changed how?"
"I-I can't exactly tell, but you feel like you've become more confident, and more enthusiastic than before. Like your more relaxed..", she tells me.
"Enthusiastic?"
"Yeah, before you always looked like you were troubled, and stiff also you only focused on training mostly ignoring anything else. That's why I was so surprised when you suddenly didn't come that day, At first, I thought you must have gotten sick, but then your brother came and told me that you were doing something else."
She stops for a moment to collect herself, "I was so curious about what you were doing. About what was so important for you to skip training. And don't think you can fool me by saying you were doing secret training. I could tell you were lying. So what happened to you?", She finishes before looking at me with awaiting eyes. Obviously wanting to know about my secret.
I was honestly surprised. Was that how I used to be?
'She certainly is quite observant.' Sanzu comments.
"Mah, maybe someday I'll tell you.", I tell her with a small smile.
She starts pouting, "Mou, that's not fair. What if you never tell me?" She asks crossing her arms.
Grinning, I say "Guess, you'll have to find out yourself then.", this makes her grow silent. We had already arrived at the ice-cream stand during our small talk.
I give a small flick to her forehead, and she immediately covers it with her hand, while looking up at me with a glare.
"Well, which flavor do you want?" I tell her while pointing at the stand.
"Strawberry." She quietly mumbles while massaging her forehead. Did I flick her too hard?
I go to the vendor and ask for our ice-creams, and he hands them to me with a knowing smile. Seriously, why do adults always do this? Sighing, I paid for them and look around only to find that Kaori was missing. I walked around and found her sitting on a bench near the fountain.
The way that she was just sitting there gazing at the setting sun, how the water fountain was tinted red, the quivering shadows of the trees. It just looked like a scene out of a movie. She must have felt someone staring because she turned towards me and waved.
Handing her the strawberry cone, I sat next to her. I took a small lick of my chocolate cone. We sat there in silence.
"I could get used to this," I tell my companion, who hums in agreement. Becoming silent afterward.
After a few minutes, Kaori stands up, "I have to go now. I have to be home by 6.30."
I nod towards her, "Kay, I'll stay here for a bit more." This was really relaxing.
"I'll see you next week then?" She asks carefully.
"Yeah.", I say giving her an eye smile.
She brightens up and gives me a small wave before turning to leave.
I look at her go, watching her till she leaves my sight.
'Ohhhhhhh, this seems like the start of a beautiful love story' Sanzu cooed.
"Hm... Maybe it is."
'Huh?' She was taken aback by my admission.
"In the future, we'll see. She's too young right now. Besides I'm not sure whether I want to involve her in the supernatural."
'What if your enemies target her?'
"Hahahaha, do you even have to ask? We kill them all. Plain and simple." Anyone who hurt what was his would pay a very, very dearly.
'Possessive little brat aren't you?'
"That I am. But I wonder... how much had changed? How much had my existence affected the world?"
'That's something hard to tell. But do you want things to be the same as they were in the original story'
I opened my eyes, "No. If things stayed the same it wouldn't be interesting. We wouldn't want that now would be.'
"Well, I guess it's time I went home. It's getting late."
'So you're gonna go through with your plan. It might affect the events that happen you know?'
"You make it sound like I'm plotting something. And besides, even if it changes a little, the main points will remain the same. Not to mention those events are a long time away."
'Aren't you?'
"No, I'm not. I'm just trying to have some fun."
'... It's gonna be dangerous.'
"Don't worry. I won't go through it right now. I'll be doing it in a few years. Ah, I can't wait to see the look on their faces." I couldn't help but grin when I thought about my genius plan.
If someone was close by they would see a boy with glowing hazel eyes walking away with a mischievous grin on his face.

So, how was it? In this chapter, I kinda wanted to establish his changing character and growing relationship with the main heroine, so yeah this was a relaxing chapter, also kinda wanted to make the background for Kaori to join the supernatural you know. Don't think this was just a normal chapter, because this is a very important chapter, you guys will understand in the future. The next few chapters will be filled with action, action, and also action. Also the relationship between these two there isn't anything romantic right now. At most a crush and mutual friendship, I think, don't really understand the female mind. Except for the MC, I guess. Dude is older mentally so... yeah.
Soooo, you guys must have noticed the mentions of 'plan' at the end right. Well, I won't be telling anything about it unlike the spoilers in the previous chap. But what I will tell you is this isn't some world domination plan or anything but more of a what do you call prank? plan I guess.
Ivan Tridelan: Dude, no offense but you seem to have a lot of hate for the cast crew. But, I do agree with some of your points, and I can understand what your saying. So I'll consider them. As for character becoming too OP. Yeah, I guess I was too worried about that. Like I said, in the beginning, he won't join a peerage but an alliance is possible and Sona is a good candidate for that I guess, since Mc's personalities would go well together. As for other factions, yeah I'm planning to take liberties with them. Especially the fallen faction, cause Azazel, along with the Shinto, Hindu, and Egyptian faction. The Egyptian faction is also another I want to focus on.
Robobot: Thx, as for Yasaka. I'm not too keen on putting her in the harem, but I might consider her but don't get your hopes up. As for how he looks, honestly, right now, I'm not sure. But I'm thinking of basing his appearance on Furious Blade with some influence of Nova Imperator.
Blaze2121: Thank you a lot, bro. I didn't know when Rose exactly became Odin's escort. And your idea gave me a new idea on how to have them meet.
DarkBest: Yup, the crow's from ATG, I searched the wiki for info, but only found that they just chill on some kind of tree. And the only feasible information I could get was from that. Also thank you for informing me about the God thing. Honestly, I don't know a whole lot about other pantheons, so gonna have to start researching. I will focus on the 3 factions but not a whole lot. Like I said the MC wants to explore the world. So as the author it's my duty to make it come true.
NazgulBelserion: The Mc and the Khaos brigade will be involved I'll give you that much. But the MC won't be joining them.
