AN: This one actually has multiple chapters. Hooray! I was 13 when I wrote this(I know this for sure because I posted a drawing of the OC I created for this story on Deviant Art in February of 2009 and described a "failed fanfiction" I'd written for it, leading me to believe I wrote this some time before posting my OC), and I'm including the original author's notes here. As a result, I'm also keeping the title. Keep in mind, I never posted this. I highly considered it, I suppose, but apparently I found it too embarrassing. This story has some strangely similar tropes to Cursed Child, which I find very interesting. My speculation is that I liked these tropes, but felt they were too silly for the cannon story to explore, which is most likely the reason why I never actually posted this.

Enjoy!

Second Generation

Second Generation- The first year

A/N: since I cannot find a decent title for this story, I'm going with "Second generation".

I know. Dumb.

But I guess that's the only thing that fits, considering all the characters involved… You know, I think Albus, Lily, James, Rose, and Hugo were never told their parents were famous, else they would know why "everyone is staring"

Anyway, here's my version of what you've all been waiting for. Albus/Scorpius/Rosie's first year at hogwarts. I decided to put it in parts, so that I might actually finish the years. They will be long chapters, and they will be in 7 parts. So maybe I will just make 7 stories.. I don't know. I might if I don't get lazeee. But I do have to Beta them all by myself, so if I up and publish this one, it may be awhile before the rest get out...

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter characters.

Story:

Hogwarts Express

Albus and Rose found a compartment together in the back of the hogwarts express, with only two other kids inside, one Scorpius and one a girl they did not know. When she saw the compartment had filled up, she sniffed unsociably and left.. They sat down in silence, Albus not really wanting to talk and Rose reading. Albus stared blindly out the window, unsure of what to do. Rose stared into a book.

"Look here, Albus, 'there are twelve uses of dragon's blood, the first of which…'"

Rose did not get far before Albus waved her away.

"Rose, I'm going to be sick. Will you please shut up?"

"Well, I'm only trying to keep your mind off it. Here just listen, 'the first of which is for potions, most effectively in the sea potion. The sea potion…'"

"ROSE! I do NOT want to know about Sea Potion, else I be Sea SICK! Leave me alone."

There was silence, and poor Rose turned red and hid behind her book, trying to hide tears. Albus immediately felt bad. He knew she had only tried to help, and still he had made her cry. But he was too nervous to care at that point; he was still scared of being in Slytherin. He turned silently back to the window.

Suddenly the other person in the compartment, Scorpius, spoke. It was so surprising that it made them all look up; even Rose, who was still biting back tears.

"Wait."

When Rose found he was speaking to her, she hid back behind her book. "What do you want?" she asked rather acidly. Scorpius took a deep breath and spoke again, very slow and gentle.

"I want to know the twelve uses of dragon's blood."

Albus was so surprised by Scorpius' sudden interest (or was it really sudden?) in their conversation that he nearly fell off his chair. He stared from Scorpius to Rose, neither of which stared back. Rose peered from behind her book, her eyes wondering. Scorpius smiled as if to say, "go on"

Rose looked down for a moment, took a deep breath, looked back up, and recited them all, all twelve uses. Albus did not stop her this time; he was too amazed that a pure blood was talking to a Weasley.

"Would you like to know anything else?" Rose asked him, unsure really of what else to say.

"No, that's fine… it was very interesting. I didn't know half of what you just told me."

Rose seemed pleased. "Thanks, I guess. I like teaching people things, you see."

Scorpius smiled lightly. "I see."

Albus could not believe this. He gave Rose a wide-eyed look.

"I think I'll go change," he said.

"Go ahead," Rose said, without looking away from Scorpius. She was still angry with Albus for yelling at her and did not wish to talk to him.

Albus left the compartment in amazement. He himself had heard his Rose's dad's indignance toward the Malfoys; surely Rosie saw it to? What would happen when her family found she had made a new friend on the Malfoy side? If Scorpius was a Slytherin, he was sure it would hurt Rosie. What if he became some sort of Dark Wizard? Or a death-eater, so his Uncles had called Scorpius's father. What would happen then?

Nervously, he made his way into the bathroom.

"What am I going to do?" he asked himself miserably. If his parents were to find out… But they would not find out. Rose was mad enough at him for yelling at her, would he really turn her against him because she was friends with Scorpius? He couldn't do that. As much as he wanted to break them apart, he didn't want to hurt Rosie. So he made his decision. He would keep his mouth shut, no matter what house Scorpius ended up in.

Albus sighed, finished dressing, and made his way back to the compartment, where Rose and Scorpius were laughing quietly over an unheard joke.

"Oh!" Rose said, startled, struggling to catch her breath. She seemed in a much better mood then when Albus had left before, and he decided to choose now to apologize.

"Er… Rose, I'm sorry for acting the way I did earlier, I'm just really worried about the sorting," Albus said, staring down at his shoes. "And I'm sorry for yelling at you."

When he looked up again, rose was smiling at him. "That's OK Albus, I understand. I'm not sure what house I'll get into."

Scorpius looked ucomfortable. "My parents want me to be in Slytherin."

Albus nodded understandlingly. "Our family wants us in Gryffindor, though I have no idea how anywon as smart as Rose could end up in Gryffindor…"

"Oh shut up Albus… I don't really care where I go as long as I am around good people. Really, my daddy is much too strict over it all. He acts like being in Slytherin's a crime, just because of a couple of Slytherin idiots that ruined it for him."

Albus knew the idiots she was talking about included Scorpius's father, but he didn't mention it. He also knew that the Slytherins of his father's time were all stupid idiots.

"Anyway, I don't care what anyone says about me no matter what house I'm in." She shot a meaningful look at Scorpius. "Or what house my friends end up in."

Scorpius smiled thankfully. "Am I counted as a friend?"

Rose smiled too. "If you want to be."

"Of course! I don't have any friends yet… Besides you."

Albus raised his eyebrows. "And me."

Scorpius was estatic. "Thanks, Albus is it? I guess this must be strange… Gryffindor and Slytherin are supposed to be mortal enemies. Or at least, that's what my sister said."

"Your sister?" Albus and Rose said asked together.

"Yea, the girl that was in here earlier. She hates Gryffindor."

Albus laughed. "It we all end up in different houses, it will be the ultimate weird…"

Rose smiled. "Ever heard of inter-house friendships that lasted all the school year?

"Nope," said Albus and Scorpius.

They all laughed.

Scorpius smiled. "My sister wouldn't be too pleased if she knew I was hanging out with you guys…"

"Well, she can get over it. Tell her from me she's a git," Rose said faithfully.

Albus looked at the compartment door and blanched. "Or you could tell her yourself."

Rose and Scorpius whirled around in time to see the tall blonde girl who had left the compartment before, standing right in front of the door. She sprang it open and gave Rose and Albus horrific glares.

"And what are you two hanging out with my little brother for?" she asked them furiously.

"Nothing, really, just talking," Albus said coldly.

She looked at him, glared viciously, and then turned to her brother. "If you're going to hang out with filth, then I expect you want father to think of you as filthy. Very well. I'll owl him this instant."

"No!" Scorpius yelled, horrified. "Don't tell him, please, I don't want-"

He stopped suddenly with a side glance at Rose and Albus, both looking at him curiously.

"Er… Please, Cassie, don't tell!"

Cassie raised her eyebrows at him. "If you don't want me to tell, then don't hang out with mudblood filth."

Rose and Albus jumped to their feet, Rose yelling hexes with her wand pointed at Cassie and Albus yelling curses. Scorpius looked nervously up at them, going whiter still as Cassie fell to the ground, a dozen hexes showing on her pale skin.

"Oh!" Rose squealed indignantly. "She was truly horrid! Another version ofBellatrix Lestrange, don't you think, Scorpius? Scorpius?"

Scorpius looked somewhere between jumping for joy and passing out. His eyes were bulging, staring at his sister on the ground.

"We'd better move her," he said faintly.

"Yes, well," said Albus, lost for words. "Come help me pick her up, then."

Rose and Scorpius hurried over to help lift the lifeless Slytherin and drag her to another compartment that was considerably empty. Cassie was so heavy that it really had taken all three of them to lift her.

Once they had gotten her into the compartment, Rose clapped her hands together. "Ok, well, now that's all settled, lets go back and wait for the cart."

They all bounced back to the compartment, gleefully waiting for the cart to come. However, Scorpius still looked troubled. He reached up into the luggage area and opened his trunk.

"I brought food with me," he said, sounding slightly put out. He held out some cheese crackers, clearly not enough to feed him. "My parents didn't give me money for the cart…"

Albus stared at him. "But you're rich!" he exclaimed, surprised that a Malfoy could do with such a measley meal. "You're parents've got lots of money! You could have hundreds of galleons."

Scorpius smiled at him. "Yea, well, my parents are the type to save money."

This did not make any sense at all. Here was Scorpius telling them he had not been given any money, yet when they had been carrying his sister through the isle, one heard and indistinguishable jingle of sickels, galleons, and knuts in her pockets. Clearly Scorpius's parents did not mind lending their daughter money. But why not to Scorpius? It made no sense.

Scorpius opened his bag and began to eat the cheese crackers slowly, not noticing Rose and Albus's curious stares. Eventually he looked up, confused.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing," Rose said quietly. "Just that we would like to share our treats with you."

Scorpius blushed. "Well, no, that's ok, I'll just…"

He looked at her meaningfully.

"My sister knows I did not get any money and if she comes back in here and sees me eating your food-"

"Oh, bother to her! Who cares what she thinks? You are so much more important than that evil girl, take it from me. Besides, she's out cold! What makes you think she'll come barging back in here? She won't, if she knows what's good for her. Leave her be and eat with us, Scorp."

Scorpius swallowed the cracker. "If you say so," he said, obviously pleased.

A/n: Ok, I know Scorpy seems a little bit not-malfoy ish... Not even sirius-ish... He probably seems to you like the Lupin/Pettigrew that lived Sirius' life.

But he will toughen up in due time...

My next chapter WILL COME SOON!

After a while, though, I will need a Beta... My Word office won't let me access word stuff without some sort of pin number.. And I can't keep Beta-ing them by myself, it will take too long.

If any of you can help me by telling me how to manage that, please let me know.
