"What kind of gift?" Batman

"How about you find out for yourself. Anna you and Striker can come out now." Astrid

"Yes mommy." Anna

Before Batman can blink Anna and Striker appear out of nowhere right in front of him. Batman turns to Astrid, and says.

"Explain now." Batman

"Lady Frigga's gift is that when she bonds with a dragon she will take on the attack, and defense traits of that dragon." Astrid

Batman looks at the dragon, and says.

"What is that?" Batman

"A Change Wing. Of all the dragons this one is the most territorial." Astrid

Before Batman can respond Striker comes up to him, sniffs him, and curls up in his lap. Seeing this Astrid puts down her axe, settles down in her chair, and says.

"Now I trust you. You must be a good guy to earn his trust. Normally people can't even set foot on a Change Wings territory without being attacked. Yet here you are in my house with Striker on your lap curled up like an over grown puppy. Why is that?" Astrid

Batman thinks about everything that has been done, and said so far. He looks at Striker then Astrid, and says.

"Maybe he can tell that I am a protector that I would do almost anything to protect my city, and the people who live here. Which now includes you, and your family." Batman

"That makes sense. So what happens now." Astrid

"I finish my patrol, and you get some rest you probably have a busy day ahead of you in the morning." Batman

Astrid nods, and everyone goes their separate ways.

Batman is several blocks away from the house thinking about everything that has happened tonight; It was not what he had been expecting. He had been expecting the young woman to be an advance scout for an invasion of some kind; Not a rape victim that was forced to flee for the sake of her child. He makes a mental note to locate the scum bag so he can keep tabs on him should the situation escalate to where the Justice League has to intervene. With that thought in mind Batman finishes up his patrol quickly, and heads straight to the Bat-cave determined to find out what in the world is going on. When he gets there Alfred says.

"Your dinner sir." Alfred

"Put it down over there Alfred." Batman

Alfred does as he is told, looking up he notices what Batman is working on, and says.

"Another case sir?" Alfred

"Not sure yet. All I know is this; There is suspicious activity in an uncharted region of the North Sea that went completely undetected by Cyborg." Batman

"I see. I assume you have a plan." Alfred

"I'm going to monitor the situation, and notify the League if action is required to ensure the safety of the inhabitants." Batman

"Very good sir." Alfred

Alfred walks out of the room, and Batman gets back to work.

After four hours Batman manages to get a satellite video feed on the designated area. What he finds he does not like the locals are faring well against the intruders but it is only a matter of time before the situation gets out of control and the locals are wiped out. Batman calls Cyborg, and tells him to call a meeting. Fifteen minutes later the Justice League is assembled, and Batman walks in to the room with a flash drive. He sits down and Superman says.

"What's going on Batman?" Superman

"There is a dangerous situation going on in a completely isolated region of the North Sea that is quickly spinning out of control. We have to intervene before the inhabitants are wiped out?" Batman

Batman brings up the satellite feed and everyone in the room gets antsy to help them. Wonder Woman recognizes the area and says.

"That area is under the protection of the Norse Gods. We can't gain access to it without their permission." Wonder Woman

"I have that covered. There is a refugee from the area in question currently living in Gotham. The young woman is friends with Frigga. I'll ask her to contact Frigga so we can get permission to send a team to help in battle and clean up." Batman

"Now that that is settled who is going to be on the field team and who is going to stay behind?" Flash

"Flash; You Superman and myself will go to the location while Cyborg, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman will stay here and monitor the situation from here." Batman

"Agreed." All

The field team leaves the room to prepare for the mission. Meanwhile Batman returns to Gotham and approaches Astrid saying.

"What is your husbands name?" Batman

"Hiccup Haddock; Why?" Astrid

"The situation in your homeland is quickly spinning out of control, and the Justice League needs to intervene, however the area is protected by the Norse Gods. We cannot get in without permission. Can you help?" Batman

"Yes. Luckily Lady Frigga is visiting today; You can ask her yourself. Come in." Astrid

Astrid steps aside, Batman enters the house, and sits down. He looks at Frigga and says.

"Lady Frigga. The Justice League is ready and willing to offer assistance to the inhabitants of the region under your protection. Would that be agreeable?" Batman

"The situation is quite dire at the moment so I'll allow it, but you are to do nothing to influence the way of life there. Am I understood?" Frigga

"Perfectly." Batman

Batman nods at Astrid and leaves. As soon as Batman has left the house he notifies the League that it is time to move out. The team arrives in the region just before the situation spins out of control. Batman having heard someone call Hiccups name he walks up to him, and says.

"Hiccup Haddock?"Batman

"Yes?"Hiccup

"We are from the Justice League. We came here to help you defeat your enemy." Batman

"Who are you, and how do I know I can trust you?" Hiccup

"I'm Batman, and you can trust me because your wife trusts me." Batman

"You've seen Astrid. Where is she? Is she alright?" Hiccup

"She is in my city. She is perfectly safe don't worry." Batman

Hiccup nods, and the two go to plan out strategies to end the conflict as quickly as possible. Since there is a lull in the action Flash and Superman take time to familiarize themselves with the area. The villagers are staring at them, and it is getting a little bit unnerving. Flash says.

"Superman. Why is everyone staring at us?" Flash

"We are the first outsiders they have ever seen. Not to mention the way we are dressed. We kinda stand out." Superman

"Ok. Well what do we do now? We pretty much have the lay of the land." Flash

"Batman is talking to the chief. Lets go find him, and see what the plan is." Superman

Superman and Flash walk in the direction Batman and the chief left in. Finding themselves in front of the Great Hall. They go in and See Batman and the Chief studying an old looking map, and strategizing for the next attack. The two of them walk up to the table, Superman puts his hand on Batman's shoulder, Batman looks at him, and Superman says.

"What's the plan?" Superman

"Flash will be on the perimeter making sure reinforcements don't make it to village. You and I are going to be in the village with Hiccup fighting the main force, which according to my calculations should be arriving anytime now." Batman

"Batman we need to go tell everyone the plan before the enemy arrives." Hiccup

"Agreed." Batman

The four of them leave the Great Hall, and Hiccup addresses the crowd saying.

"Batman and I have come up with a plan of attack that will ensure no casualties. Once the battle starts Flash and Snotlout will be on the perimeter cutting off reinforcements. While Batman and Superman stay here and help fight the initial attackers. Any questions?"Hiccup

"Why do we even need their help anyway?" Snotlout

"Two reasons Snotlout. 1. we are vastly out numbered. 2. Frigga sent them here to help us so the Gods know we are in need and are providing for us. Any other questions?" Hiccup

"Who are Batman, Superman, and Flash?" Fishlegs

Hiccup introduces the heroes, and everyone gets into positions for the battle. Minutes later the battle begins. All are fighting well and soon the number begins to dwindle greatly. Drago decided to go on the offensive. He charged Superman in the hope to grab him and the upper hand. Superman and Drago were fighting intensely until Superman punched Drago across the village. Superman looks around, and sees that all of Drago's men are dead or unconscious. With the battle over Superman walks up to Batman saying.

"What are we going to do with the scumbag and his men?" Superman

"We hand them over to the local authorities." Batman

Superman frowns, but nods and walks away. Batman cuffs all of the attackers that are still alive. He is very displeased that so many of the enemy ended up dead, but he also knows that vikings don't handle things the same way so he doesn't hold it against Hiccup. Batman and Hiccup work together to over see the clean up of the village after the battle. After all of the clean up is finished the members of the League that are present begin preparations to leave now that their work here is done. Hiccup walks up to Batman, and says.

"Will you please tell Astrid that Drago has been dealt with? Then maybe she will come home where she belongs." Hiccup

"I will tell her, but the decision to return or not is hers. If she does decide to return then you two will have a lot to discuss, and that conversation will not be an easy one." Batman

"I understand. Thank you Batman." Hiccup

Batman and the other League members say goodbye to the Dragon Riders, and head home to their respective cities. When Batman arrives in Gotham he heads out on patrol after checking in with Alfred. All the while he is thinking about how he is going to tell Astrid that the Danger at home is passed, and it is safe to return home once again. He is equally unsure about what her reaction to the news will be. Batman decides that he will tell her as soon as his patrol is finished before heading back to the Bat-cave. Now that patrol is finished Batman is heading in the direction of Astrid's house. When he gets there Astrid lets him in, closes the door, and says.

"What brings you to my door again Batman?" Astrid

"I have a message from Hiccup." Batman

"What is it?" Astrid

"Hiccup tells me that since Drago is gone you can come home now." Batman

Astrid sits down in her chair, and thinks over her options. Astrid knows that she misses her home and loved ones, but she also knows that things could go very wrong when her husband and tribe finds out about Anna. While she trusts her husband not to react to badly she also know how much Hiccup hates Drago for killing his father. Astrid decides that she will take a month to think over her decision, and perhaps talk to Frigga about it. Astrid tells Batman her preliminary decision who leaves with a nod.

After a month of thinking deciding, and praying Astrid has come to the decision that she should go home to face the consequences of lieing to her husband and tribe. Astrid and Anna pack their things into Stormfly's saddle bags, and go home leaving a note thanking Batman for keeping them safe from the dangers of Gotham while they were there. It took a lot of flying, but Astrid and Anna arrived safely at Berk. Hiccup sees Astrid and Anna get off Stormfly's back, runs to them, and says.

"Astrid, Anna; I'm so glad you got home safely." Hiccup

"We did. Hiccup we need to talk in private." Astrid

"Sure lets go back to the house to talk." Hiccup

When Astrid and Hiccup get in the house Hiccup closes the door behind them, and Astrid says.

"Hiccup there are somethings that haven't been said, and a lie that you were told." Astrid

"Such as?" Hiccup

Astrid takes a deep breath, and says.

"Do you remember the only night that I got drunk enough to pass out?" Astrid

"Yeah. You started acting a little bit distant after that." Hiccup

"I told you that I got drunk and passed out, but what I didn't tell you was that I woke up naked in Mildews house as Drago was leaving. Awhile later I was feeling sick in the mornings so I went to see Gothi, and she told me that I was pregnant. When Anna was born I asked Lady Frigga if she could present her to the village as an orphan, and choose me to take care of her. I'm so sorry Hiccup." Astrid

"Why would you do that? I would have understood, and we could've gotten through this together if you had told me sooner." Hiccup

"I know I was just so scared and paranoid that I wasn't thinking clearly." Astrid

"What is it that had you so scared that you had to lie to me?" Hiccup

"I was afraid that Anna would be in danger if you knew that she came from what Drago did." Astrid

"Oh gods! You thought I would punish a child for what that evil man did. It's no wonder that you did what you did. Astrid I love you more than anything in the world, and I will love her as if she were my own." Hiccup

Hiccup wraps Astrid in the warmest hug that he has ever given her, and says.

"Now that this painful secret is out in the open; I have an important question to ask you." Hiccup

"Go ahead." Astrid

"Does Anna know?" Hiccup

"Yes that's why she's afraid of you." Astrid

"We're going to have to do something about that." Hiccup

"You should talk to her, and show her that she has no reason to be afraid of you." Astrid

"Oh Astrid what would I do without you?" Hiccup

"Probably be hopelessly lost." Astrid

The two of them burst out laughing like they haven't in a very long time. Astrid and Hiccup know that it will take awhile for all the hurt to go away, but they also know that they can get through anything as long as they are together.

Hiccup and Astrid tell the village the truth, and things are very awkward for awhile eventually things go back to normal though. Hiccup has his talk with Anna, and after a while she grows to love him as the father she never got to have. Frigga apologizes for her part in the deception, and villagers forgive her after they have some time to think about all that has happened. Life returns to normal on Berk, and the Dragons and humans find a way to live together in peace despite all the evil men in the world that stand in their way.
