Shine
If anyone asks Aang what he loved the most about Katara, he wouldn't be able to pick a single thing. But if did have to pick something, he would pick the moments where she shined. What did this mean exactly? Well, for Aang it meant many things. Whenever he watched Katara waterbending, this a moment where she shined. The way she controlled her native element with such skill and grace, coupled with a deep passion within her soul, all made for a spectacular sight. In the days when she was training him in the element, just simple moves like bending the water back and forth to each other, made his whole heart soar. This was where he felt connected to her. Another moment where Katara shined was watching her interact with their children. It was an understatement that Katara was a wonderful mother. The way she looked after Bumi, Kya, and Tenzin with such love and care. He could tell every time she spent with them; it was full of the utmost love. A love that he also gave to his children. In Katara's eyes, he could see the shining devotion she had to their children, and that bright light never went away. Finally, his third favorite shining moment, was when they made love together. The first time they did so, Aang had never felt such passion. Not even mastering all four elements was as powerful as when he and Katara became one for the first time. It was true love in its purest form, but a love that only belonged to the two of them. In the times since then, that same passion was just as strong, and just as magnificent as ever. As Aang sat on the banks of Air Temple Island with Katara by his side, he took a moment to gaze at her. At thirty-eight years old, she was still just as beautiful as when he first laid eyes on her. Sensing that he was staring at her, Katara turned to face him, offering him a small smile.
"What is it?" she asked.
"I'm just watching you, that's all," Aang replied.
"Oh, is that so? Do you like what you see?" Katara asked, lovingly.
"I do indeed. Nothing makes me happier," Aang said.
Katara gave him a kiss on the lips, smiling even brighter this time. "The feeling is mutual," she said.
Nothing lit up Aang's sky like watching Katara shine. So, if he had to pick what he loved most about her, that would be it. But in the case of Katara, her shining moment was many things, and Aang loved every one of them.
